Cool, confident character posters and a second teaser for Woman With a Suitcase

We’re about a week away from the premiere of MBC’s new Monday-Tuesday legal drama Woman With a Suitcase, and new promo materials have been released. Written by Kwon Eum-mi (Gap-dong) and directed by PD Kwon Seok-jang (Ex-Girlfriend Club), Woman With a Suitcase is the story of a capable legal office manager, played by Choi Ji-woo (Twenty Again), who overcomes hardships and bounces back from misfortune to get herself through law school and open her own practice.

The character posters all have a green backdrop, and the four leads appear to be perched atop a bench. I’m not digging the green as it makes our characters resemble cardboard cutouts, but other than looking two-dimensional, the assuredness of these legal professionals comes across.

Cha Geum-joo is the name of our titular heroine, aka “Seocho District’s No. 1 office worker,” and in her poster, she rests her elbow against her trusty suitcase. The copy reads, “Life imprisonment? If you come to me, you’re not guilty.”

Next up, we have a dapperly dressed Hahm Bok-geo played by Joo Jin-mo (Beloved Eun-dong). He’s the heroine’s love interest and a former prosecutor turned head honcho of a mysterious tabloid company called K-Fact. Naturally, his copy reads, “Rumors come to me.”

Jeon Hye-bin (Oh Hae-young Again) takes on the role of Park Hye-su and sits with her arms crossed. The “don’t mess” vibe is crystal clear and augmented by her copy: “What’s mine… Can’t give to anyone.” She’s described as “the lawyer geared with hidden poison.”

Rounding out the main four, we have Lee Joon (Vampire Prosecutor) as Ma Seok-woo looking rather smart-alecky and casual in a sweatshirt and jeans. He’s the wacky one with the hot brain, and his copy reads, “I am a lawyer.”

The brief teaser introduces us to the woman with a suitcase, and she carries herself with an air of confidence. We then see Joo Jin-mo driving around in a convertible and sitting next to Lee Joon in the courtroom; he’s looking uneasy which is probably why he seeks Choi Ji-woo’s expertise. But they start off on the wrong foot, quarreling outside a church. There are glimpses of a certain case — an unconscious female patient, a dead canary — and we end with Joo reluctantly requesting Choi to accompany him somewhere, and neither seems thrilled by the idea as they’re getting drenched in the downpour. The tagline at the end reads, “the case becomes a scandal which turns into melodrama.”

MBC’s Woman With a Suitcase will premiere on September 26 after Monster ends its run.

I swear I didn't want to comment about his nose but...

The PD must be his anti. Or the photographer. Or someone in the photoshop department...

I feel like Joo Jin-mo is what Lee Minho is going to look like in the next 10-15 years.

I knew that Joo Jin Mo looks so familiar from that first pic...I was wondering where have I seen that face before.

Maybe they can act as brothers in a drama.

I am a Lee Joon (The actor) fangirl. Looking forward to seeing him here. I totally loved his portrayal of the scared and upright In-sang in "Heard it through the Grapevine".

“…Weapon? If you come to me, you’re not guilty.”

Actually, "무기" here probably means life term, not weapon.

I wish there was a picture of them all on the bench together. I had to school numerous times to figure out who was seated by me. But that's probably because I'm tired.

Same, I scrolled so many times just to double check the seating arrangement haha. Maybe the only way to see the whole pic is to save all the posters and make a collage...

All in for Joo Jin Mo. I rooted for him in A Frozen Flower and fumed that he lost the girl to Ji Chang Wook in Empress Ki. His roles are always supposed to be the ones you're not rooting for but he always manages to bring you on his character's side with his acting.

Yes yes 1000 times yes! Even his castrated lover, whom he had ordered to be castrated, was on his side and loved him til the end. Sigh. I have to go watch that again.

I am still feeling heartbroken for him in Empress Ki. His painful love, luckily not one sided love.

Yes, his role in empress ki is the role that make me in love with him, really sad, the scene where he meet sun hyang first time after she become emperor concubine left deep impression, when he said "continue the path you choose don't regret" make my tears flow.....

He is indeed a true actor. Although most keeps talking about Ji Chang Wook (and there was kind of shipwar though, right), I still on the #TeamWangYu untuil the end. Speaking of this, I enjoyed JCW as Empreor as well.

I was rooting for Wang Yu and his painful love.

And I was rooting for Tanashiri as well. She was a villain, but in some aspects I kind of understand her. Although still cannot forgive her brutally killing people. Sigh.

Then now I realized, should I rewatch Empress Ki? LOL. I kinda missing Tal Tal as well.

So excited for this!!! I hope the format would be more like The Good Wife (mainly procedural but you do have character story) and less like Pride and Prejudice (I got bored when I realised we're just dealing with one main case ultimately, keep going round in circles...)

Oh Choi Ji Woo, why are you still looking young even after all these years? Such a goddess!

Jeon Hyebin looks a lot like Kim TaeHee on her photo. I have to stare at it for a long time before I realized her name was written beside her face. I really thought that TaeHee came back to play a second-lead role, and that I know will be very unlikely.

Now you said it I also feel the same way too.
Both Jeon Hye Bin and Kim Tae Hee have the confident and bold look.

I'll be watching this! Also, Jeon Hyebin looks gorgeous with that hair! I hope we'll be seeing her take on main lead character next!

Now I wish she didn't have a love interest. She shouldn't need a powerful rich man to save her; she can be her own independent saviour.
