I decided to watch the 2014 film The Pirates with Kim Nam-gil as he doesn’t seem to do many dramas. Still sporting the mane of glory here!

      I enjoyed it. It was fine for a Sunday night. There were some serious bits but it was mostly comedy/action.

Hi Beanies. It’s nice to be back and I’m busy catching up. The first thing on my list was Live up to your Name. I’m now waiting for ep 12 as the show manages to finish on a cliffhanger each time.

      Hi @ally-le Thanks for asking. Normandy was looking very green after a week in Corsica! We had a dry Summer here but there’s been a lot of rain in September so everything is looking bedraggled and it’s time to tidy up a bit. There are still one or two flower heads on the buckwheat but I’ll cut it down now so I can have another go at removing the tree roots. We let it seed so there should be more buckwheat plants next year plus I’ll probably plant up another area.

        We had some rain yesterday and I found myself just staring at the birdbath that we have which is surrounded by our butterfly flower bed. It’s been the perfect season here for our plants, not too dry, but no too wet. Glad your buckwheat is still thriving.

      It’s very beautiful. I haven’t been here before but my brother comes nearly every year. The view is from the terrasse of the place where we are staying – literally next to the sea!

I really enjoyed my The Liar and his Lover re-watch and it was good to find the details I missed the first time around. 🙂

I was more sympathetic towards Jin-hyuk and Yoo-na this time around. Jin-hyuk, constrained by CEO Yoo’s need for control, loses his balance, while Yoo-na is always seen as a product not a musician.

I always love the trees in Autumn.

    Me too! I live in a tropical region so one of my to-do list is to visit Korea in autumn and do those long slow walks under the boulevard of beautiful autumnal trees ala kdrama scenes. Preferably with sad soulful background music kekeke

      That sounds a great plan. So you don’t get the four seasons like we do. I like them all but I love the colours of Autumn and the crunchy sounds of the leaves when you walk on them. 🙂

        Sometimes I’m envious of people who are able to experience the four seasons but then I think, I hardly have space for my summer clothings, imagine if I have to have clothes for the different seasons kekeke

        But autumn is my favorite season, the colors are so vivid and beautiful and there is a tad of sadness and melancholy in the air and yes to the crunchy sounds of leaves when you walk on them 😁

      That’s right. It’s the Liar and his Lover which I’m re-watching. They aren’t the leads – he’s the singer in the band, Crude Play and she works for their record company. All the characters are well written and it’s well paced.

        I am missing this show now! School 2017 is good but nowhere near as addictive as this lovely show. And I think my dramaslump has still not left me completely! TLAHL was literally the last show I loved! Nothing else has been as adorable as this one!

          I nearly didn’t watch it actually because I thought it might be too young but then I was looking for something to watch so I thought I’d try it and I liked it from the very beginning.

            Me too! I had this weird feeling that it could be quite cheesy! Good thing I liked Joy (because of Yook Sung Jae) and so decided to still check it out.

            And look at you now? Already going back to it! 🙂

            I think I will be going back to an old show again after School ends. Let’s see what i end up chosing 🙂

          School 2017 is really good and I’m enjoying it. TLAHL is so well crafted though and much more complex in showing the reality of the music industry. I love that we get to see more of the older characters and have an understanding of the paths they have travelled and the toll it has taken. This is such a foil for the already disillusioned and struggling Crude Play members and the written-off Yoo-na. And we see just what is in store for the new Mush &Co.
          There’s a lot to be said for going back to an old book or show. What do you think you might watch?

            Ah I am enjoying School 2017 because of the characters/actors- but the basic story is quite weak. It could have been so much better! Frankly, it might even be my least favourite in the School series if it were not for the cuties. On the other hand, the writer/ director clearly knew what they wanted in TLAHL and they did each character justice just like you said.

            I am guessing something with Seo In Guk in it cuz I miss him. Or maybe something else.. Not sure yet. Might even take another drama break and go read a book.

Coming clean and making an apology is a really hard thing to do especially when you are surrounded by ‘spin’. People do respect you for it though and you regain your own self-respect. Well done team!

    Wow! You’re already at episode 15, lucky you! I got so busy with Eid preparations that I didn’t have time to watch it! Planning to watch ep 7+8 before everyone gets here (Family gathering at our place today)

      Oh. Sorry if I spoiled it for you. 🙁 I’m thinking about the themes and noticing more details this time around so the pictures aren’t necessarily in strict order. I’m verbose by nature so the 200 character limit makes me sound a bit school teacherish too! Enjoy the celebrations and the episodes (oh the angst and the misunderstandings).
