I don’t know who or even when I saw this post, but I went to my local Korean grocer for wonton wrap and came out with this (almost forgetting what I can in for)! Had to go back in after this pic!

    Oh my goodness, you purchased one of the Beanie-mentioned melona ice bars! It’s the whole Beanie Provisions situation!

    Certain food items that our fellow Beanies like are being mentioned on the wall, ice bars being the latest I think, hence, Beanie Provisions. ….. It’s apparently now a thing. 😊

    Well, see… I posted a mini rant about the wastage of Melona bars in Strongest Deliveryman, and now all these Beanies are buying them and starting said Beanie Provisions… 😛 hehehe

    Omg guys, just had a watch party for Temp of Love premiere and come back to DB with 12 notifs! Just for this yummy ice cream bar! I had zero intention of buying it–just happened to see it in the case, remembered seeing a post here, and now I’m hooked! Beanie provisions indeed! Hahaha???

    I’ve always seen this but never tempted to buy until I read @sicarius post. I’m quite allergic to melon flavored stuff so if I love this, it’s really the beanie effect.

      My dad is too, but his is because he’s allergic to ragweed and it’s cross reactive to melons. He could probably take an antihistamine and tolerate it. Or cook it which would denature the protein. Some people are actually allergic to the Melin itself though. My great aunt is deathly allergic to jack fruit! I’m sorry to hear that! My husband says he can make these with other fruits and condensed milk. We’re going to try to make some later!

        I didn’t know there’s actually allergies to these fruits. Mine isn’t that strong, they just make me kinda nauseous. I can’t tell if I am just adverse to the smell and taste or it’s that particular artificial flavor that I am allergic to.

        Fruit popsicles? Delicious!

        Oh wow, how fantastic! And how nice of him to share some pics with you! …… It’s not often you hear of a pleasant trip beginning with the flight itself, it’s usually afterwards, after dealing with airline nonsense of one kind or another. But it sounds like things have been wonderful on Korean Air! *taking note and saving more pennies for my 1st class flight to South Korea*

    I am glad that Chan-young is getting a seemingly solid backstory and hoping for good character development throughout the show. It will be fun to see how this show deal with eastern vs western medicine compared to Live Up to Your Name.

So, the 13 year age difference on Hospital Ship between the OTP’s and @Jrr ‘s comment on her fan wall made me wonder if I was cast as the heroine, who would play my love interest? Be prepared to swoon…I’ve never been a fan of noona romances, until just now. Who’s the other half of your OTP?

        Ahjumma reporting here!! Yes I hit the jackpot too 😂😂 – mine is 1987 and my goodness, when I googled that year, that is an excellent year! I have a slew of choices and my top three in order of preference of course is Seo In Guk, Chang Ji Wook and Lee Seung-gi. Special mention would include Lee Min-ho, Joo Won, Jung Il-woo 😄😄

          Whoa! That’s quite a list! I didn’t realize Seo In Guk was as old as those other actors. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t been acting as long? However, I think he outshines all those others and I would choose him first as well! Well done!

      I found Park Jin-Young for you too! He played the younger version of Lee Min-Ho’s character in Legend of the Blue Sea. He was also adorable in My Love Eun Dong (the first kdrama I ever saw)! And Nam Joo Hyuk!!! Not too shabby!

    Um… Because I don’t fancy 13 year olds, I found actors 13 years older, instead of younger, (I know this completely defeats the whole noona romance thing) my choices are pretty good😍: Namgoong Min, Ki Tae-young, Yoon Kye-Sang, Eun Ji-Won and Joo Sang-Wook

    I was so touched by this little side story. Watching the mom and her love for the selfish rude daughter, my heart totally went out to her.

      Did she leave the food? I haven’t finished the episode–taking care of 5 kids this weekend! This was the last thing I saw.

      I was too curious, so made an excuse and watched the rest of this episode. So, she didn’t leave the food! And then she has a heart attack? Why didn’t she leave the food, give it to her daughter–at least put it in the break room? So, some glaring common sense things, not even medical inaccuracies (although I saw no less than a half dozen of these) that should have happened that didn’t. Any mother would have left the food—especially after seeing their daughter not eating well. (Maybe I just feel too strongly about Korean food and kimchi. 😳) You really have no idea how upset I was she didn’t give her the food! The daughter is a brat, though, I agree. But I sympathize with her too—overworked, probably stayed up all night taking her chief’s shift—but I keep coming back to the food. 😂

        She even went through the trouble of following her daughter all the way to the lunch area/cafeteria. In my head I was like, just give it to her even if she gives you lip! But then I thought, yeah, this needed to play out that way to get her out of the hospital. Will/have you watch(ed) ep 2?

        Hahaha. I can sense how hard it might be handling the children. My sister has two and watching them is like managing tornadoes. 😜😅 ABout mom, oh yeah she didn’t leave the food with her. I guess she was too upset and I felt it was natural since the daughter was so rude with her. She didn’t even let mom finish her sentence and it must have hurt her a lot. I guess mom didn’t leave the food since the doctor told her never to come to her workplace with patients and her word choices were a bit harsh. :'( Haha, I didn’t honestly think of the food until you mentioned it. I was so angry with the doctor at that time, that her food choice didn’t catch my attention :P. Probably what I felt was that she has enough money to buy whatever food she likes, so serves her right. But lol yeah, I was being biased towards mom of course. 😄

      Oh! And I still have to watch the last 2 episodes of the most recent season on Sherlock. So I was lamenting about that to a patient today who does have a terminal illness and watches Netflix during her iv treatments. I know, confirming I’m a horrible person, but we had a good laugh.

        Sherlock is one of my many favourites (First 2 episodes of IRY reminded me of Sherlock S1 and hence the initial love- rest you can just chalk up to my love for SIG)

          It helped that she’s a Sherlock fan too and we fangirled over Benedict Cumberbatch for half her appointment! She’s chastised me into watching the rest of the season before she comes back for follow up so we can talk about it! Yes, she’s a cool girl, and doing really well, so although I wouldn’t normally take such a departure in an appointment, it was the end of a tough day (I just sent the prior patient to the hospital by ambulance) and we both needed to decompress.

            But you know I am sure talking about things one loves is a good therapy. Many of us on DB feel good because we are able to talk about our likes and dislikes. And I am with her, you NEED to watch Sherlock! It is brilliant! Though, I don’t like the possibility that we won’t get any more seasons! :/

            Yup! Quite similar in style. Remember all those messages that we would see on screen in Season 1 of Sherlock? And the way we were shown how his mind works? There was a quite a lot of that in the first few episodes of IRY… I guess the burden of live shooting was too much for it to continue later. But then the story was way too interesting even without that, so I didn’t mind. But a good way to increase interest initially.

I look forward to seeing ’em. ‘Oppa’ can be used between siblings, too. 🙂 that’s what some little sisters would call their older brothers, but I’m sure you knew that. 🙂

            Yes, I knew about about older brothers. There was another page of discussion about that I didn’t include here. Lol. AS and I were explaining it to my other SIL who was misunderstanding it and thinking it was a predatory term between much older men and young girls! I would have, but only 5 pics can be posted at a time and I wanted the “just call me oppa’s” pic included! 😂
