    I’m just ignoring some random plot-jumps in character development/ motivation in favour of squealing for potential future awesomeness thanks to the resolution!
    (To be honest.. I always take the side of squealing! 😀 )

      I’m one of the ones (few?) who have had major Dan Ah issues since the first ep. I forgot(?) to watch ep 6 last week. And will probably get caught up. That sounds like something I should do 🙂 but, can you tell me–what is she like in these eps? She’s my only draw back for the entire series.

        Haha! She actually is the personification of the plotholes in character motivation i mentioned.. we still dunno why she is so extreme and her love line comes rather abruptly (esp from Kang-Soo’s end).. but her interactions later are really cute..

        Similarly with Jin kyu.. there are leaps of logic & it’s a bit unrealistic that he would do the stuff he does (trying to remain unspoilery here) but he does such a brilliant job acting the scenes he has been given..

        For this drama I have taken the approach of not looking into plotlines and character motivation.. and to just enjoy the interactions because the actors do quite a nice job with what they have been given. Better for my peace of mind.. since i already have so much to rant about in real life!

    Drama Writing 101: You don’t have to make your second lead inexplicably and irredeemably evil for the audience to love and root for your first lead. Especially when said second lead is in possession of such cute dimples. This is unacceptable CRUELTY!!!

      I KNOW!!! It is soooo mean and cruel!! Why must they do this to us?!?! I’m sticking with some secret plotting..! weird that im more into him than Kyung-pyo when the whole reason I started SD was cuz of him.. maybe thats why the writer felt the need to do it… but nooooooo

        Unfortunately I don’t think there’s any secret plotting involved. The Dimple has decided to put his trust in the first person who extended their hand while he was in a rut, and that happens to be Ji-yoon’s evil mother. Add some extra petty jealousy over Dan-ah and Kang-soo’s relationship and voila you get a typical second lead. What a waste of a good character build up in the first 4 episodes (and a waste of Kim Sun-ho’s nuanced acting too). You can tell I’m still so bitter about it. Curse you, writer! The only way I’ll get over this is if they prove me wrong later on, but I don’t want to continue watching if they’re going to ruin Jin-gyu even more. He’s my fave!

        I’ve root for bad guys before (the ambitious Kim Myung-min over the righteous Lee Seon-gyun in The Great White Tower), but the writing was so good in that drama that I don’t ever feel guilty.

          Lmao!! I am in the office right now logged onto Dramabeans on my computer and phone (for when I take bathroom breaks of course)! This site, and the k-drama life, should have come with warning, “Abandon all hopes of returning to a normal life, ye who enters here”.       It’s a clip from Strong Heart I think, when LDW was 1 of the hosts already. I wonder what Knetz’ reaction then. Though it seems there’s a double standards for them, male idols can be topless or lots of skin and the reaction would be “he’s so handsome” etc, while generally female idols can dress or dance too sexily or they’d end up being sl*t shamed.

    I watched the first ep of Father and I realized how charming Jung So-min is, and started looking up her filmography and saw the movie you’re referring to ^^ and I was like, “Oh, this looks fun!” I love a good body/soul-swapping genre! It reminded me of Freaky Friday, but it’s the dad instead of the mom. I actually would love to see that same premise used in a K-drama.

    … sorry, I just wanted to share that lil’ tidbit… I don’t actually have any answers to your question… 😔
