Suspicious Partner: Episodes 27-28

Ji-wook has come a long way from the days when he thought he didn’t need anyone, isolating himself for fear that he might actually care about someone. Now he has people that he loves and wants to protect, but life doesn’t work that way. Sometimes it takes a loss to put things into perspective, and make a man realize what’s truly important in life.

EPISODE 27 RECAP

When Yoo-jung finds the bloody knife in Hyun-soo’s apartment, Hyun-soo makes a run for it. He jumps on his motorcycle and leads a chase through the streets, including both Yoo-jung and Ji-wook. Before he can shake them, a car comes out of nowhere and slams into Hyun-soo’s bike, flipping him over its hood to crash to the pavement while the driver of the car escapes.

Hyun-soo lies in the street, motionless, while Ji-wook and Yoo-jung can do nothing but stare in shock. He’s taken away by ambulance, unconscious and deathly still.

Yoo-jung calls in a report and requests a search for the hit-and-run driver. When she hangs up, Ji-wook asks who tipped her off to the knife in Hyun-soo’s apartment, but she’s reluctant to tell him. She eventually admits that it was an anonymous tip.

Ji-wook doesn’t believe her, and he reminds her that the knife is illegally obtained evidence. But Yoo-jung stubbornly insists that she obtained a legal warrant, found a bloody knife, and that’s all she knows.

Ji-wook is called back to the hospital by CEO Byun, who tells everyone excitedly that Chief Bang moved a finger. But since Chief Bang is still unconscious, they don’t really believe him. Chief Bang’s thumb twitches again but CEO Byun is the only one who sees it, and the others roll their eyes thinking he’s seeing things. LOL.

They all stay to keep watch over their friend, working as best they can in the cramped room. Ji-wook paces, thinking about who might have taken the stolen knife from his desk drawer and planted it in Hyun-soo’s home. The only person he can think of is Eun-hyuk, and he blurts out of nowhere, “Hey Eun-hyuk, if you’re behind this I’m going to put you in prison!”

Eun-hyuk looks up innocently and asks what he did, then he gets all excited that Ji-wook is finally talking to him. Ha, and awww. He tells them all to keep smiling even though they’re in bad moods, so that good things can happen. CEO Byun and Bong-hee agree, but Ji-wook has a hard time smiling.

He starts to tell them about Hyun-soo’s accident, but he’s interrupted by a weak voice calling his name. OMG. They all rush to the bed to find Chief Bang awake, and he recognizes them each in turn. He’s okay! Ji-wook is so relieved and grateful to see his friend alive that he can only hold Chief Bang’s hand and cry.

Yoo-jung and Ji-hae watch the news about Hyun-soo’s hit-and-run accident. Hyun-soo is reported to be in a coma, and the reporter speculates whether the investigation and car chase were mishandled by the prosecution.

Ji-wook visits Hyun-soo with Eun-hyuk and Bong-hee in tow, but Hyun-soo is still unconscious. Bong-hee asks Ji-wook if evidence was found but he’s vague in his answer. She wants to know what happens now, so Ji-wook explains that it depends on if and when Hyun-soo wakes.

They’re joined by Yoo-jung, who says confidently that he’ll wake up, adding that they found the car that hit Hyun-soo but the driver had disappeared. She tells them that the doctor says Hyun-soo has a head injury and internal bleeding, so it could be a while before he wakes, and when he does there may be brain damage.

Eun-hyuk asks if Yoo-jung is okay, and she tells him that she’s in trouble with her superiors. She asks if they’ll hire her if she loses her job, and HAHA, they all look away awkwardly.

As she leaves, Eun-hyuk hands over the list of names that Chief Bang compiled when he was looking into Hyun-soo and Chan-ho. Ji-wook tells Yoo-jung that they think Hyun-soo was planning some sort of revenge on one of them, and that his target may have been the one who hit Hyun-soo.

While alone with Hyun-soo, Bong-hee laments over having so many unanswered questions for him, and so much anger. Ji-wook returns to hear her heavy sigh and puts an arm around her.

When Chief Bang feels better he tells Ji-wook that even though he didn’t see his attacker’s face clearly, he’s positive it was Hyun-soo. Ji-wook tells him that Hyun-soo is in a coma, urging him to rest and recover so that he’s ready to testify when Hyun-soo wakes up.

Chief Bang agrees to do that, then he barks, “Why are they always here?!” PFFT. CEO Byun, Eun-hyuk, and Bong-hee are right next to them, chowing down on snacks and insisting that they’re conducting a very important meeting. They tease Chief Bang, and he whispers desperately to Ji-wook that he wants to be discharged.

Over the next few days, he works hard at getting better (even going for walks around the room while CEO Byun dozes off in the hospital bed, heh), and soon he’s allowed to go home.

The news reports on Hyun-soo’s accident are increasingly critical, accusing the prosecution of conducting the search as a vindictive move against Hyun-soo for being acquitted for the chef’s murder. Yoo-jung is called in front of District Attorney Jang along with the chief deputy, but no amount of groveling can appease District Attorney Jang. He’s furious that the prosecution’s reputation has been stained by this situation.

He goes to the hospital to visit Hyun-soo so that it looks like he gives a damn. He tells the reporters that an investigation is being conducted and that appropriate punishment will be meted out.

In Hyun-soo’s room, Yoo-jung says that she still believes that Hyun-soo is the serial killer, and she’s about to bring up his son Hee-joon’s murder as well, but District Attorney Jang barks at her to shut up, then he slaps the chief deputy hard across the face. He warns Yoo-jung never to let something like this happen again.

Ji-wook and Bong-hee head home, happy to have some time for just the two of them. Then they suddenly realize that they’re all alone together and they tense up, unsure what to do. Bong-hee says she’s going to take a shower, making Ji-wook gulp at the thought.

They both lie awake that night, unable to sleep knowing that the other is just a few feet away. Eventually Bong-hee gets up and hovers outside Ji-wook’s door nervously, and when he bursts out of his room they both jump.

Ji-wook leans towards Bong-hee with his arms open wide, but she fends him off, saying that it’s only their second day. She doesn’t count the days Chief Bang was in the hospital because they couldn’t do anything, and Ji-wook agrees that they didn’t have a chance to “do anything.” Then he lunges at her again, intent on fixing that right now.

Bong-hee ducks under his arm and runs to the couch. They settle in and Bong-hee says that she knows Ji-wook’s been stressed, calling him “lawyer-nim” as she always does. Ji-wook gives her a dirty look and grumbles that he’s stressed because his girlfriend keeps addressing him formally.

Bong-hee asks if he expects her to change the way she addresses him overnight, and Ji-wook nods a big yes, hee. So she aegyos a cutesy jagi-ya at him, making him laugh. She swears she’ll never do that again, but Ji-wook thinks it’s adorable and he aegyos right back at her, which is so cute I can’t even stand it.

A little while later, Ji-wook tells Bong-hee the events that led up to Hyun-soo’s accident. She asks if the driver who hit him has been caught yet, and learns that the car was rented with a fake ID and the driver is missing.

Bong-hee yawns, but she denies being sleepy. A few minutes later she’s nodded off with her head in Ji-wook’s lap as he looks down at her adoringly. Soon he’s snuggled up with her, both of them fast asleep.

Chief Bang comes back to work the next morning to be greeted by Eun-hyuk’s boisterous confetti-and-streamers monkey dance, hee. Bong-hee sets off another confetti cracker at him, then CEO Byun joins them with a third loud cracker. These three dorks, I luff them so much. Drawn by the noise, Ji-wook comes in complaining about the mess. All four of their faces fall—then Ji-wook shoots off another cracker and flees the room. LOL.

They settle down and start the morning meeting. CEO Byun gets sidetracked on a long story about his time in the U.S., and Bong-hee mutters to herself to just endure it because he’s Ji-wook’s father. CEO Byun hears her and they bicker, while Ji-wook looks like he’s wishing to teleport to anywhere else. He has one of his temper explosions, bellowing that he wants to have a proper meeting just once.

Chief Bang says that something seems “missing” since he came back. He grins mischievously and says that he had some very interesting dreams while he was unconscious, and in flashback we see CEO Byun talking to him in the hospital, promising to give him all of his assets if Chief Bang would wake up. HAHA, he heard him!

Next Chief Bang leers at Bong-hee, who’d promised to serve all of his penalties whenever he loses the ladder game. And Eun-hyuk gulps as he realizes that Chief Bang heard him say that he would hire him his own secretary, driver, and office manager. PWAHAHA. They all avert his gaze nervously.

While Bong-hee is in the kitchen having a PPL moment with her phone, Ji-wook wanders by, wondering out loud who could be the culprit (who planted the stolen knife). Bong-hee asks what he’s talking about, so he fibs that he’s trying to discover the culprit of a mystery novel he’s reading.

Bong-hee quotes her mother: “The one who appears at this moment is the culprit!” She throws out an accusing finger — right as CEO Byun walks into the room. CEO Byun seems oddly nervous, and another flashback takes us to a day when Ji-wook was talking to Chief Bang in the hospital.

He assumes that CEO Byun is sleeping in the chair behind him, and he tells the unconscious Chief Bang that he decided not to use the knife that Eun-hyuk stole to frame Hyun-soo. He admits to being unsure if he’s made the right decision, but that he’s pretending to be better than Hyun-soo and following the law. Behind him, we see that CEO Byun was awake and heard everything.

So it was CEO Byun who took the knife from Ji-wook’s desk, coated it in Chief Bang’s blood, and broke into Hyun-soo’s house to put it back in his knife block. He’d even visited Hyun-soo in the hospital and confessed that he was ashamed of himself, but that sometimes he thinks it’s better “to use my fists rather than the law.”

EPISODE 28 RECAP

Yoo-jung interrogates a man accused of attempted arson, and he unashamedly tells her all about how he set a fire two years ago and someone died. The wrong person was arrested, and he feels guilty so he’s turning himself in.

It turns out that Eun-hyuk defended the man who was falsely convicted of starting the fire, and the man begs Eun-hyuk to represent him in his appeal. Eun-hyuk takes the case back to the team, explaining that his client, Sun-il, was arrested for what the prosecution claimed was a revenge crime.

Sun-il’s daughter was killed by a car driven by the man who died in the fire, but even though he was drunk and had no driver’s license, he was released without punishment due to diminished capacity (a claim that due to mental or physical illness, he was incapable of intentionally committing a crime). Eun-hyuk admits that because he lost Sun-il’s first trial, he’s not feeling confident about the appeal. He humbly asks for help, but Ji-wook refuses.

Thinking that Ji-wook is doing that “I’ll only help you when you don’t want my help” thing again, Eun-hyuk tells Ji-wook not to help him, but Ji-wook is all, “Okay, I won’t.” Chief Bang and Bong-hee joke that Eun-hyuk isn’t very smart for someone who’s supposed to be a genius, heh.

Eun-hyuk insists that Sun-il is innocent, and Ji-wook points out that they thought the same of Hyun-soo. But his real reason for refusing, he admits, is that he doesn’t want to work on arson cases. Eun-hyuk apologizes sincerely, having forgotten about Ji-wook’s past tragedy.

Instead, Chief Bang suggests that Bong-hee take the lead on the case. She reveals that she’s not keen on it either, because her father was also killed in a fire. But she does promise to consider it.

That particular fire is on District Attorney Jang’s mind as well, due to the similarities between that fire and the one Sun-il is accused of starting, particularly the part where it was supposedly done for revenge. He recalls showing a very young Ji-wook a man’s photo and telling him that this was the man who killed Ji-wook’s parents. The photo is of Bong-hee’s father.

Ji-wook wakes in the morning to find Bong-hee standing over his bed, and she tells him to get ready because they’re going on a date. That gets him moving quick, ha. He bounces around like a happy little bunny, then takes out a jewelry box to smile at a delicate necklace with a ring-shaped pendant.

Bong-hee takes Ji-wook to an arcade, and he looks a bit disappointed. He proceeds to lose every single game to her, getting increasingly stressed and anxious as she beats him at the toy crane, the shooting game, and even the basketball game. She totally kicks his ass. At one point he pulls out the jewelry box and grumbles because the romantic moment he was hoping for just isn’t happening.

Eventually he storms out of the arcade, insisting that he’s not upset in a very upset voice. Bong-hee promises to let him win next time, but he yells at her to never ever let him win, because he wants to win fair and square. She agrees to play again soon and they high-five on it, and Ji-wook turns the high-five into a hand-hold, which makes him happy again.

Bong-hee’s phone reminds her to pick up some medicine for Chief Bang, and while she’s in the pharmacy, Ji-wook runs into his mom. He looks a bit cornered when she asks what he’s doing, then he grins sheepishly and admits that he’s with his girlfriend.

As she exits the pharmacy, Bong-hee hears Ji-wook addressing the woman who makes her mother’s work life miserable as “mother,” and she jumps back inside to hide. She remembers all the times she sassed Ji-wook’s mom, not knowing who she was, and she wonders what to do now.

Ji-wook tries to bring her out to meet his mom, but Bong-hee holds the door shut and pleads with him not to make her go. They have this hilarious exchange through the glass door using only facial expressions, then Ji-wook yanks the door open anyway. Bong-hee just runs as fast as she can from both of them with her face hidden, HAHA.

Bong-hee’s mom chooses today of all days to bring food to Bong-hee’s workplace, which she gives to Chief Bang and Eun-hyuk. She gasps at Eun-hyuk, seeing his handsome face lit from behind as if by a halo, which is how Bong-hee described the man she was falling for.

She assumes she’s got the right guy until Ji-wook arrives home and she’s equally struck by his gorgeous backlit face. She asks which one of them is the right one, but they have no idea what she’s talking about.

Things get really awkward when Ji-wook’s mom comes in and the two ladies start to growl at each other. It dawns on them that their children are dating each other, and Ji-wook’s mom begs him to say it’s not true. Bong-hee’s mom counters that she objects just as much, and they go another round. The three guys look back and forth at each other not knowing what to do.

The moms threaten to disapprove of the relationship, which has Ji-wook hilariously clutching his heart. Bong-hee chooses this moment to walk into the middle of the nightmare, and when it looks like she’s going to flee again, Ji-wook grabs her and yells, “Mothers! We’re dating!” Smooooth. Eun-hyuk whispers to Chief Bang to look surprised, and they totally overact, hee.

District Attorney Jang looks through a very old, singed file containing a photo of Bong-hee’s father. He remembers her dad approaching him to insist that he was innocent, saying that he didn’t even work the same shift as the taxi driver who argued with that customer.

He said that the victim who accused him was drunk at the time of the fight and was mistaking him for the other driver. He dropsped to his knees, saying that he got fired from his taxi job and can’t work because he’s always at court, and he begs for help.

Jang hadn’t cared, and had ignored the man’s pleas. Now he tells himself firmly that he wasn’t wrong, and puts the file away.

Bong-hee tells her father’s picture that she’s gotten on the bad side of both of her boyfriend’s parents, and wonders what she’s going to do. She decides to do some laundry, and she runs into Ji-wook in the living room as he’s adorably practicing how to give her the necklace. She says she’s going to the laundromat, then drops the basket in her nervousness. Ji-wook crouches to help her, but he hesitates when he realizes that he’s reaching for a pink polka-dotted bra.

He insists on accompanying her, and they sit talking on the folding table at the laundromat. Ji-wook tells Bong-hee not to worry too much about his parents, promising to win them over on her behalf. To make her feel better, he suggests they go see her father next time.

Bong-hee asks, “So… when are you going to give it to me?” HAHA. Ji-wook looks annoyed that she’s caught on to him waffling all day, but he’s all smiles again when she loves the necklace. He puts it on her and she cuddles up to him happily.

Chief Bang goes to see Hyun-soo, who is still deep in a coma. He uses his hand to block the lower half of Hyun-soo’s face, confirming that these the eyes he saw over the mask his attacker wore. He tells Hyun-soo that it would be better if he never wakes up, then he leaves.

After the door closes, Hyun-soo begins to open his eyes.

While out and about, Eun-hyuk spots Yoo-jung across the street, swerving drunkenly as Ji-hae tries to steady her. Yoo-jung runs off to the bathroom and Ji-hae, a little drunk herself, starts to fall off her high heels. Eun-hyuk catches her, and she swoons a little to see him so close.

He smells the alcohol on her breath and tells her that drinking is bad for her health. He goes off on a nerdy explanation of how the body breaks down alcohol, then apologizes for giving unasked-for advice. Heh, Ji-hae is so flustered that all she can do is repeat, “Yes… yes…“ after everything he says.

Eun-hyuk surprises Ji-hae by asking for her number, then he gives her his business card and asks her to call him if anything happens. She watches him walk away, wondering what that was all about.

When Ji-wook and Bong-hee arrive home, he starts to hand her the laundry basket, but he doesn’t let go and stays standing very close. He leans over to kiss her lightly and they turn to go to their rooms… but at the exact same time, they both turn back around.

They come back together for a longer, hotter kiss, and Bong-hee drops the basket to wrap her arms around Ji-wook’s neck. They make their way to Bong-hee’s room, only breaking the kiss long enough to shed items of clothing, then they fall into the bed together.

In the morning, Ji-wook is curled comfortably around the still-sleeping Bong-hee. He wakes and presses several drowsy kisses into her hair and her back, checking hopefully to see if she’s awake, too.

But as he glances over towards her nightstand, he sees something that makes him freeze.

He stares at the picture of young Bong-hee and her father, recognizing him as the man whom he was told killed his parents. In his memory, Bong-hee’s father walked out of the fire towards him as Ji-wook’s father lay dying.

Bong-hee wakes and smiles up at Ji-wook, then turns to snuggle into his chest. He holds onto her tightly, his eyes locked on the photo of her father.

Epilogue.

In the bathroom, Ji-hae checks herself out in the mirror and thinks back to Eun-hyuk suddenly asking for her number and giving his. She looks around to see if anyone else is there and then makes a series of embarrassing poses in front of mirror, and decides that she’s still got it.

COMMENTS

Oh that was beautiful, just a perfect moment of development for our main couple. It makes me so happy when a show allows its characters to be mature, sexual beings like real people, rather than expecting us to believe that grown adults in a relationship are flustered by a chaste kiss. I felt that Ji-wook’s occasional tentative attempts to get his hands on Bong-hee and her coy evasions were believable when you consider their history, which includes not one, but two nights where at least one of them can’t remember whether they slept together. But it’s also natural for their mutual attraction to bring them together sooner rather than later, and I felt like the timing was just perfect considering that they’re finally in the same place at the same time emotionally.

We’re getting some long-awaited answers about the fire that apparently changed both Ji-wook and Bong-hee’s lives forever, and now that Ji-wook knows who Bong-hee’s father is in relation to himself, I expect we’ll get the full story soon. I’m not the least bit surprised that District Attorney Jang was all tangled up in what happened back then, and the way he seemed to be influencing Ji-wook to think that Bong-hee’s father killed his parents is extremely unsettling, making me wonder if he planted that memory in Ji-wook’s head the same way he planted the knife in Bong-hee’s apartment. It throws Ji-wook’s entire recollection of the fire into doubt, so I’m sure that his memory of Bong-hee’s father as the man responsible for his parents’ death is probably nowhere close to what actually happened. I just hope that he doesn’t let this come between him and Bong-hee, and I hope that the way he held her even tighter after seeing her father’s picture is an indication that instead, he’ll be that much more determined not to lose her. I’m actually more worried that Bong-hee will learn about this and distance herself, because she’s shown Noble Idiot tendencies before.

I really appreciate how each case Ji-wook and his team take on reflects the issues that they’re dealing with in their own lives. It’s done in such a way that the cases underscore and enhance our understanding of the central conflict involving Hyun-soo, yet it never feels forced or too obvious, and the cases stand alone as detailed and interesting side stories. All of them involve a wrongfully accused defendant who is either innocent, or is guilty but whose motives are tragically misunderstood. Even the current dilemma of the knife planted in Hyun-soo’s apartment seems to mirror the case of Ji-wook’s parents’ death from all those years ago, if I’m reading the situation correctly. Hyun-soo is the only defendant who did turn out to be guilty, but even he is doing what he does in a misguided attempt to bring justice to those who, for reasons only he knows, deserve to be punished.

So I can’t help but wonder if Hyun-soo is going to wake up with amnesia, because it would be an interesting twist for him to transform from an unrepentant revenge killer to someone who, as far as he would recall, is an innocent man. Although conveniently timed amnesia is probably my very least favorite drama trope, I think that in this case it could be used in an interesting way, and I would trust this writer to do it right. I would love to see Hyun-soo wake up with no memory of murdering anyone, reverting back to the innocent young man he used to be before tragedy twisted him into someone who believes that the ends justify any means, even murder. We would get to explore some pretty interesting moral dilemmas if that happened, such as whether he should be held responsible for the murders he committed, when he doesn’t even know he committed them.

On a lighter note, I really like the idea that Eun-hyuk and Ji-hae could start a loveline. Despite her bad judgment in school by dating Hee-joon when he already had a girlfriend, Ji-hae has redeemed herself several times over by proving to be smart, level-headed, and ethical now that she’s grown up a bit. And who knows, Hee-joon may have lied to her that he and Bong-hee were broken up… all we know is that she did say she wasn’t proud of her behavior in that situation. Everyone makes mistakes, and unlike Yoo-jung, Ji-hae seems to actually have learned from hers—she’s the one who’s always shaking her head at Yoo-jung’s impulsive, emotion-driven actions and wondering how she could possibly justify her behavior. I think that Ji-hae is a much better match for a guy like Eun-hyuk, and that it’s well past time he get over his own regret-laden, youthful first love and find a woman who actually deserves him.

This drama is so good at changing the mood from super happy to super sad, making it all believable.
I was smiling in the last part and then morning came and I already knew that this episode wouldn't end on a high note. Waaah. Can't wait for the next episode.. i hope Ji Wook and Bong Hee talk this out as soon as possible.
Stepping back:
> Can't believe I got the "CEO Byun" theory right.. haha i think i've seen too many dramas.
> I loved the scene where the mothers met each other's son/daughter, I was laughing the whole time. Haha
I'm glad we stepped back with the murder story line to strengthen the relationship and bond of our leads, because this makes me feel safe about the fact that, whatever problem they will encounter from now on, they'll overcome it together!

I figured it was CEO Byun because the mystery guy was wearing ahjussi suit pants. And it was refreshing to see CEO Byun being serious for once.

I can't help wondering if Ji Wook deliberately told the story to get CEO Byun to take away the decision to plant evidence from him and still have it done.
That District Attorney is such an asshat.. omg, I dislike him so much in this drama.. he was so nice in Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim too haha

Hmm I don't think that's the case. You saw how mad Ji Wook got when he though Eun Hyuk might have planted the knife - he knows how unethical it would be, and it would make them no better than the criminals and corrupt DA.
Also the DA was a terrible character in Squad 38... I haven't seen RTDK, so I haven't seen him play a nice character yet! It's interesting since the actor playing CEO Byun also usually plays such terrible people, but in this drama he's such a squishy lovable old man... With a serious and protective side when it comes to the ones he cares about.

The DA! I also remembered him as the almost bumbling chief in RDTK but think he also played a nasty character in Police Squad 38.

I dont think so, because that would be out of character for Ji-wook and honestly pretty sneaky to pawn off accountability on someone else in that way.

I, too, could not believe that my CEO Byun theory turned out to be true. I realized, I love these characters so much that I easily recognize them through their movements. I thought it was CEO Byun because of his legs and the way he walked. I must really love CEO Byun. hehe!

Never change, JCW. Never change.

i want to say that in my books, Ji Chang wook is officially THE BEST hugger and cuddler in kdrama-land! The way he envelopes his female co-stars is so natural and gives me the fuzzies - in Healer, even in K2 (the roof-top cuddles & even the last scene in Europe in with Yoona), and now here! He's not extremely tall or big, compared to actors like Lee Tae hwan, Lee Minho, Kim Young Kwang, but the way he wraps himself around his female leads, seems as if he is bigger.

Chief Bang is awake! The moms warring over their kids! And of course, them cute relationship milestones and smexy times between Ji-wook and Bang-hee!

(Am I the only torn between wanting to watch and wanting to look away during that kiss?? It felt wayyy intimate and real haha. JCW and NJH have sizzling chemistry.)

Because this episode is way too upbeat and light, I'm sure they're setting us up for next week's episodes where they'll play with our feelings and pull us back in with all the conflicts. So many things to tackle like:

-Will CEO Byun get caught for tampering evidence? I feel like he took one for the team, since he's the one who has less to lose.
-What really happened in the past? Maybe Bong-hee's dad got caught at the wrong time and wrong place, seems to me he was framed for the crime. And Bong-hee's ex's father (lol, i cannot for the life of me remember his name) planted the idea in young Ji-wook's head that this man was the person to blame for his father's death.
-Will Hyun-soo remember his crimes? Feels a little too late, but maybe this is what the amnesia storyline is all about.

Getting ready for next week's angst and revelations!!!

One more thing to tackle... Will one person from the firm still die?!? That "prophesy" from the last episode isn't complete. I'm so scared for CEO Byun and Eun Hyuk (especially CEO Byun... Now that he's done something so blatant against the criminal and admitted it while by his hospital bed, he might very well be target #1). If he doesn't actually get amnesia, I think Hyun Soo might fake having it since he would also have "heard" everything said by his bedside while in a coma.

I remember the guy telling Ji-wook not to cry so much and that everything will be okay...Maybe that was his way of saying his initial prophecy was wrong? Now that you've mentioned it, I also remember seeing the fortune telling guy's girlfriend arriving at the airport around the same time that Hyun-soo was shadowing/following an old friend of his. Am I remembering things correctly?! If so, then that's another thing to tackle in the last couple of episodes.

The prophesy said that two people might die in that room. He forgot to include himself so technically the man died (1) and Chief Bang ALMOST died (2) so that makes it two. Here's to me convincing myself that NO ONE WILL DIE in that office. PLEASE. HAHAHAHA

Thanks for the recap! The cute and funny definitely returned in this episode - in fact, with HS very much unconscious, it seemed like the suspense took the backseat for the time being. I didn't mind too much though, because we got cute BH and JW.

-Chief Bang's welcome back party was so adorable.
-JW's hissy fits after being owned at every game by BH had me in stitches. Same to the whole reveal scene with the moms - that was every bit as hilarious and memorable as I wanted it to be. Chief Bang and EH's fake surprise was the best thing.
-When they finally spent the night together, my reaction was basically "Thank god, finally!" But there was also a lot of squealing and clapping, I'm embarrassed to admit...
-In the beginning, I just thought of HJ's father as a (very) misguided grieving parent, but after this episode I won't be satisfied until he is locked up and pays for everything he's done. Because wow...

That welcome back party was really the cutest!! It's a nice contrast from the beginning; when Eun Hyuk welcomed Ji Wook to the old firm, he was all alone and Ji Wook hated his guts. Now, Eun Hyuk started the party but he has four others to celebrate with. I love their little work family!

Lol, they finally did it. (Squeeee!)
That kiss though! I had to fan myself.
And omgg they were so cute and cuddly the morning after! JCW is such a sexy puppy, idk how he does it but he radiates so much warmth and love... I feel like I can literally touch his feelings, so much so that I could contain them in a bottle if you asked.
But ofc, the show had to go and kinda ruin the moment -.-

One thing about that ending though...JW was evidently surprised to discover who BH's dad was, but he still embraced her (awww). Can they get a break? Poor JW was so afraid that this new turn of events will take away his newfound happiness. I'm hoping that they will deal with this situation in an honest and non-noble-idiocy way (Please, show). But JW does tend to ruminate over things, before coming clean...so we'll probably get some angst.

Anyway, I wonder if he really believes that the man in his dreams was responsible for his parents' death or if after all these years, he has actually taken it into consideration that his little-self was manipulated.

Other things I loved in this episode:
-Mr Bang finally recovering and going back to the firm. I missed their office banter so much
-Mr Bang & EH acting surprised when our OTP announced they were dating. HAHAHA
-The moms finding out about their kids dating.
-JW being all neurotic about how to give BH that necklace.
-BH winning all the games on their date and JW being salty about it, lol.

PS: Ji-hye's confusion about EH's feelings towards her tickles me (they're not gonna be an item, right? Right?!)
Thanks for the recap @lollypip

yes, in case of Louie he suffered a blow to his head which resulted in temporary amnesia.
And from what I've seen from movie/drama land rules, apparently if the brain receives low oxygen due to drowning, bleeding, choking etc, that could result in brain damage aka amnesia & no other damage to the body which happens in real life.
Heights of ridiculousness lol.
And what will come next maybe real amnesia, or HS faking an amnesia...

YAY the recap is out! I love how fast you are! And I agree Ji Hae has really become an endearing character... something I would NOT have expected after the first few episodes. I think in the end Eun Hyuk might still end up with Yoo Jung, since I think she's also still redeemable, but I'm pleasantly surprised that I like Ji Hae so much now.

Also, Ugh WHY does Hyun Soo have to "wake up" from his coma that way. Why couldn't he just talk instead of that eyebrow twitch and that music... Scared me half to death.

And, that laundromat scene was too cute. My favorite moment has to be the shot of our couple swinging their feet in unison. It's little moments like that I love and appreciate.

However... sometimes I wish I hadn't watched King of Dramas. Ever since them, I've become super aware of PPL. So the necklace, the toothpaste, the phone app... At least they were all incorporated more subtly than Papa John's (though that's not saying much), but I do get slightly distracted from the original feel of the scene. I guess as long as it continues to pay for good, high quality dramas with sweet and funny moments I can't complain.

I'm so glad the moms finally met. I was hoping for an even bigger scene than that, but it was really Chief Bang and Eun Hyuk that stole the show for me. "Pretend you're surprised!!!" Hahaha.

I thought Hyun Soo's eyebrow twitch was brilliant acting. It looked so real, like a spasm rather than intentional, and I've never seen it before as an indication of someone regaining consciousness. It's usually a finger moving (like Bang) or their eyes just flutter open. The actor is so good in this role. He looks so sweet one minute and so scary the next.

I seriously think you may be right about Hyun-soo waking up with amnesia. Since the entire time, the plot has been that there is a murderer with amnesia who can only remember to kill EBH and Ji-wook and the only main murderer is Hyun-soo, it makes perfect sense if he indeed gets amnesia with that as his main motive. Although this means that his backstory (that girl that the writers are alluding to) is delayed, I wouldn't mind one bit if this fire bit with EBH's dad, District Attorney Jang, and Ji-wook's dad will be revealed. The only thing I hope however, is that it doesn't affect EBH's and Ji-wook's relationship so much so that they drift apart or that there's hatred between them. The lightness of episode 28 makes me think that something huge is going to be coming in the next couple of episodes since they like to keep it light and refreshing before they drop a bomb. As for Eun-hyuk, I really want him to get together with Yoo-jung. He's been longing for her for so long and she's really been changing, so I really hope that works out for him. I want Ji-Hae to get her happily ever after too but not with Eun-hyuk, maybe someone else. All in all I love where this series is heading (crossing fingers for more mom scenes with the kids). The next episode could not come FAST enough!

I am not sure about Eun-hyuk really being happy with Yoo-jung, even if she changes.
For him, redemption means be friend again with JW... Plus to get the girl he wanted from the beginning is like... I don´t know, I am not saying he does not deserve happiness and all that, but it would be too cheesy and not realistic.
On the other hand, until now this is where the show itself is pointing out... that he still hasn´t forgotten her, and that she is the kind of woman who would be ok with either both, and that is the problem i have with her... She would be ok with either both... She came back express to come back with JW...
So that is why i don´t want her to just turned to EH at the end, just because now JW is taken...
EH deserves better than that...
I wouldn´t say as well someone like Ji-hae...
I wish EH would find somebody totally new, someone frish and shining... But I also suppose that would be simple and it would come at the very very end...
We will see...

I also appreciate it when a show portrays its characters in a realistic way, especially in relation to romance and sex. I'm not after the act, but the fact that we have two adults who are in love with each other and they show it through a wonderful development on the emotional and physical levels. This is one of the things I truly liked about Coffee Prince. This drama tackled sleeping together and other normal adult relations stuff in a no-nonsense way.

My brain short-circuited the moment he kissed her shoulder so what was that last part again? I have no idea. *lalalalala* Imma stay in my happy place.

Nah, but really. Let's get this over with. My feelings on our leads' connected past:

This show's introspective take on guilt and innocence earns it a lot of traction, because I've already seen firsthand how our leads' pasts have played a part in who they've become. So much of the growth they've experienced together has been preparing them for facing an issue like this and I actually care so much about seeing how they grapple with it. So while I do question the necessity of their lives connecting back to this fire (if only because, with Hyun-soo, the drama already has a lot of compelling material to focus on), them coming to terms with each other's perspectives could be really gratifying to watch if executed well. I guess that means I'm not dreading the fallout in the way I normally do! Well, this is not much of a surprise, since I seem to be a sucker for almost everything about this drama, lol.

I also have to applaud the show for its boldness and handling of the reveal. I completely expected something lame like JW deciding to leave that necklace on her desk and then seeing the photo. But, dammmnnn. They slept together. For the two of them, that is such a big deal. He definitely knows that and I fully expect him not to take that lightly. Rather than ending with his shocked expression, I'm relieved the PD lingered for a while to really let us see it sink in for him. Because his first instinct is to grasp her tight and I love that. While I'm not sure I can expect him to come to her with this, I have faith he'll try uncovering what really happened.

Chief Bang!!!!! I took so many screencaps of all his faces, I just couldn't stop all episode! Somehow happy scenes of our 5 Lawyers together have begun to make me cry now that he's made it back from the brink. I know I never took those scenes for granted, but when I thought about the possibility all week of never seeing all of them together again, my world just felt so dull. I'm not sure I understood just how much I loved them until now.

I need a whole post just for the moms! It finally happened, hahaha! And it was too good.

I was so happy with the lovely scene between our OTP but then Show went and dropped the ball. Therefore, in my mind, the last scene of this episode is the kiss on Bonghee's shoulder. Yes. Yes, that's it. hehe!

I do appreciate that the story is on the move on that front, the childhood/the past/the fire. Can't wait for the angst. I hope it's good. I agree with your take on how the episode ended with Jiwook hugging Bonghee even more tightly. I'm sure he'll have complicated feelings about this, but I sure hope that he'll not fall apart and will not push Bonghee away.

HS has seemingly lost everything and is doing his last gasp effort to "correct" things.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all works out.

So, I wasn't the only one. Unpopular opinion but I blame the flow of story and editing choices slightly in episode 14. Outing Hyun Soo in early episodes and build momentum using Chief Bang to have his story take backseat is not exactly a great idea. I mean, I am not exactly interested in Father-Father connection. I find it extremely annoying when everybody is somehow connected in K-drama. I mean when used well, it adds to the story, here I don't exactly care for it. I am much more interested in Hyun Soo and what demons haunt his world and make him do the unspeakable. This show should've been a 16/32 episode drama, period. I have a feeling thing might drag in the wrong way from this point onward. Fingers crossed, I hope I am wrong.

Ok. They went all the way, healthy relationship goals❤️❤️❤️❤️. It's good that they are portraying a modern couple who does more than hold hands, pecker and look at the moon?.

I had wondered what they would do for more content since the mystery of the killer is more or less solved, and they still have 12 episodes to go, but I guess they want to explore the mystery of Bong hee and Ji Wook's backgrounds and what evil part the current, vicious DA had to play by blaming and framing an innocent man.

I must say that karma is a bitch and what goes around comes around. Was it fate or pure coincidence that caused his son to die in the house of the daughter of the man he framed? Everything is connected, it seems. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

My guess that CEO Byun was the one who planted the fake evidence was correct. I just wonder how he got access into the killer's house. Where is Go Chan and what happened to him???? And when is the drama going to make Eun Hyuk and Prosecutor Cha reconcile and be a couple? I know the drama is trolling us with Ji hae, the only reason Eun Hyuk gave her his number was for her to call him if anything ever happened to his love. I still want the three friends to reconcile and be friends again.

Speaking of which, that DA is damned vicious. Who walks around strangling women and slapping their subordinates? it's a wonder that no one has yet arrested him for assault. I dislike him even more than I hate the serial killer who despite his killings, seems like a pretty likable guy.

But then i dont trust BH, she is emotional n might just push JW away if she finds out abt the dads!!
Lots of favs this episode:
-- a perfectly done scene of two mature adults who feel exactly the same way about each other taking the next step.
--- the team welcomed mr bang back -- love it.
- having him knowing all their secrets-- hilarious!
---The mommies finding out!!
Ok now coming to the important part-- the kiss.
I was hoping for a kiss but after the sleeping on the couch scene i kinda thought thats the skinship for today.N then at the laundry when JW gifted the necklace i kept berating BH for not kissing him. Well I got my wish just as I gave up hope?

The workplace ethics as portrayed by our lunatic DA is alarming. Framing people, slapping people, strangling people, what on earth is going on and aren't they stretching things a bit too far??
I love, love, loved the progress our Ji-Bong couple made. Realistic progression of an adult relationship where skin-ship isn't a taboo. I had tears in my eyes. SBS, thank you for letting it air. Yoo Jung, possible redemption arc is going to start soon. She already realizes what a bad news DA is, its only a matter of time before she catches up to all of the shady things he tries to do. She is quite smart. To be honest, not a fan of the my father killed your father but really he was innocent angle. Hello Monster was different because both the leads knew the dad cannot be the accomplice even though there was no evidence. Here, one lead is traumatized till date by the events and both had their childhood partially robbed because of the events. I was wishing for it to not go the predictable route but I have faith that Ji Wook and Bong Hee can figure this very tough situation out. Mostly, I have faith in the writer from Hello Monster.
As for Ji-Hae, I too am rooting for her awkwardly out of place romance with Eun Hyuk. I know its a long shot and probably won't happen but it'd be a fun dynamic. Ji-Hae isn't exactly a pure soul, she is fiercely driven but is capable of owning up to her mistakes. I am becoming more and more fond of her. I think she'll mesh well and complement Eun Hyuk's slightly eccentric nature with her straightforward no-nonsense attitude pretty well. Also, imagine how much more fun the family dinner and parties will become with her in the mix. It'll never be boring. It might not happen but a girl can wish, I guess.

That last scene...oh dear.
Just think of it, BH was all 'I'm dead' or 'we're doomed' when she realized that CEO Byun and Mom is JW's adoptive parents, and despite all the comedic relief, I actually take this as some sort of foreshadowing. When she finds out that her dad (i'm guessing biological dad because he's an Eun too) maaaybe related to JW's family fire, it'll be somekind of a mirror towards her previous 'in-law' meetings. When that happens, I think that we're surely in for an angsty ride (?)
The way JW burries her head into his chest when she wakes up sheds all kinds of possible distance between them initiated by JW, but yes, I do agree that it's BH that may walk down the Noble idiocy path. However, I do wonder whether instead of distancing herself, BH will want to try and prove of her dad's innocence.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Our dorkie law family welcoming Cheif Bang back to work!
- This maaaybe an unpopular opinion but I'm rooting for EH-YJ. Her EQ maybe on the negative side but she does care for EH, remembers his bday etc things like that. Yes, yes, she has a character problem but I just can't help it lmao.

so it WAS mr Byun.

I think JW will not fall into a trap of his own mind and if he has any common sense he´ll suspect Chief Attorney of lying to him when he was a kid. Bong Hee´s dad most likely died while saving JW but got accused of murdering his parents.

I was so happy that the office bunch was together again. they have a rather unusual, snarky, but so devoted rapport. totally devoted to each other and their goals.
Bong Hee running away from JW´s mom was another hilarious moment. the scene was even funnier than I expected this discovery to be.
I so missed mr Bangs´ wide smile. I never spill actual tears at anything, but I almost had something in my throat having him back.
the chemistry of our turtle doves is off the map of course but I personally could do without... some scenes.
the only thing that disappoints me is lack of actual bromance between JW and EH. even Eun Hyuk himself phrased it: when will they finally be friendly? Please? even the whole of last episode of friendship doesn´t make up for it.

And their naughty scene... Finally, with both of them sober! And I'm not too worried with Ji-wook recognizing Bong-hee's father. So far, he's been shown as a pretty level-headed kind of guy, and I have so much faith in the writer by now.

They are both so great at physical comedy and it really showed in this scene.

Also, how much do I love that the poor guy was left alone to witness the moms having their first show-down (well...as future in-laws, that is). He was so lost and confused, lol. Hehehe, I love the way BH just waltzes back in right after everything's out in the open! He was so hilarious and sweet and awkwardly desperate to declare their relationship as soon as possible! I love that.

BANG EUNHO IS BACK!!!

I'm so happy with this ep in general (i.e. BongHee and JiWook hijinks) but GAH Bang EunHo took the CAKE! Even while in his coma he plays tricks on Byun CEO and he took the "people hear what you say while in a coma" to a whole new level!!

Welcome back BangEunHo. We missed you. JiWook, BongHee, and co needed their dysfunctional familial father back and most of all, dramaland needed you.

Chief Bang rocks, I have even a bit hard time believing he was in a coma cause he remembers their confessions to the T. I wonder though: what was Ji Wooks´ promise? We didnt get to see that. My bet would be on "be the best man at my wedding."

not really sure. it feels like he cares for Yoo Jung, but he is not pining after her any more, it is more like nostalgia. . and his chuckling and curiosity toward Ji Hae indicated some interest.

I found it kind of weird he would approach Ji hae... Honestly, I didn´t even think it was out of a romantic motive, but because he would ask her a favor or something, since she is in the prosecutor side...
EH tends to use his charms to get favors (not in a bad way)... so... Maybe....

Annnnnd Hyun-soo piranha is making his way back -- eep! I wonder how I will make it to next week, especially with all the development we've started this week! And the overacting of Eun-hyuk and Chief Bang as they "find out" about Bong-hee and Ji-wook was hilarious. And I knew from the hemline of the pants that it wasn't any of our younger friends that planted the knife. One of the first things I noticed was that I was pleased with where CEO Byun's pants hemline was, lol.

It was good to see Chief Bang back at work. I liked how he remembered all the promises. The DA continues to be an unpleasant bully. It will be interesting to find out more about his involvement with Ji-wook's parents' death. The mums continue to make me laugh. I thought Eun-Hyuk was giving Ji-hae his card out of concern for Yoo-jung so it will be fun to see where this thread goes now that Ji-hae has developed as a character.

I am getting fond of Ji Hae. I don't want EH to be with YJ but neither do I want him to be with JH. The girl slandered BH.

I enjoy the relationship development between the leads and the firms. It is refreshing.

The last scene..the kiss on shoulder...HOT.
Mr. Bang was team BH mother :D

Anyone as glad as I was when I realised that there were 3 more weeks of this show? Given the 16-episode trend for dramas these days, I was afraid SP was gonna go the cliffhanging way of Mystery Queen! I hope all lose ends get tied up neatly, including Hyun Soo's kinda convoluted missing-Chan-Ho-serial-murders-revenge-for-teenage-wrong arc...

I am really happy about it. But I just realized the last episode will air, when I am on my way to Turkey. I will probably have to wait a week, until I can see the final (two?) episodes. And the season start of Game of Thrones. Why god, whyyyyyyyy?

This drama is a real rollercoaster playing with our minds and emotions. I felt so bad for NJW in the end, he went from 100 to -100 in seconds.
I hope he'll continue being level-headed and won't do anything he'll regret later.

I laughed so loud at the scene in the pharmacy. Bonghee was so desperate holding the door shut and Jiwook was so flabbergasted that she ran away. Hee.

Eunhyuk is getting more and more attractive, if possible. That actor needs his own show after this.

This is just a very silly sidenote, but has anybody else noticed the way the office team's names all resemble each other?

No Ji Wook
Eun Bong Hee
Ji Eun Hyuk
Bang Eun Ho
Byun Young Hee

That's two "Ji"s, three "Eun"s, two "Hee"s, and for some reason all this similarity in names makes me feel like the whole office is shipping our OTP, haha!!

I get that there are a lot of cultural differences between Korean and American TV shows but DAMN WAS I EXCITED to see them more than imply that they slept together. I could honestly do with seeing a little more (as creepy as that sounds but gosh they have good chemistry together and come on, what better way to take out some stress and tension, cough cough) and when a show has a great lead couple like this I just want to see them together! This is what grown-ass adults do, lol. I also just KNEW that they strategically slept in her room so he could conveniently see her dad's picture -_- I want to take it as a good sign that he did not recoil from her upon realizing who it was but I don't have a good feeling about what this means for them at least in the next few episodes. I know that we have at least 10 more so I'm just hoping we won't burn through these without seeing more real, passionate, MATURE love between these two.
Also can we please talk about how much Ji Chang Wook looks like Jeong Han from Seventeen?! Someone else out there must see this lol

The outstanding thing of this show is these 5 people with different personality, strength, fear, secret, antics and trauma with only JW as the link that tie them all together. The sense of loyalty, friendship/family and togetherness of these people is what keep me glued. Add 2 snappy-bickery moms into the mix. Good. I'm now more curious of their bickering history than the murderer's history.

But the crime story is less gripping and mysterious unlike the writer's past drama. Although I still love it but I can't help comparing both and missed the gripping murder story... and SIG-JNR-PBG. I now settle with the rom-com and am staying.

Thanks for the recap, dear!

I agree that the progression in Ji-Wook and Bong Hee's relationship felt natural (sort of) but I think production rushed this episode. This episode jammed a lot in and, IMO, deprived the audience of some moments. I was really looking forward to the moment when the moms met and it really kind of fizzled out. I'm hoping that that dynamic plays out more.

Also, I don't want the show going all stereotypical, "we can't be together because your dad killed my dad..." Sorry to reference Healer again but I'd appreciate that in this drama too. (The couple works together to solve the issue and not let it tear them apart.) Going forward, I think it'll be on Bong Hee to keep their relationship together.

The chemistry of the leads in SP is really off the charts! I could watch them interact forever.

This episode is so cute (not to mention HOT!) but I think we need to save this episode to look back on because the next episodes will just be heartbreaking to our leads.

I also want Hyun soo to wake up so we can get on with our story, and I agree that his story alone I think, would have been compelling already and adding the fathers thing is just complicating things, I'm praying we don't get too much angsty scenes.

I can't agree that Ji-hae has shown any growth or maturity, or indeed, anything resembling owning up to her mistakes. She purposely and very publicly spread false rumours about Bong Hee to avoid being accused of stealing BH's boyfriend. She went out of her way to make BH's social life difficult after the break-up, but never acknowledged that once BH's behaviour became relevant to the question of her innocence.

Yoo-Jung has repeatedly stated and acknowledged that what she did was wrong. She appears to be a person with a serious case of conflict-avoidance who has decided that she needs to face the biggest conflict in her life but has no idea how to do it.

Ji-Hae's snide and judgemental comments about YJ never rise to the level of trying to help her. At most, JH is concerned for how YJ's behaviour reflects back on herself. She lacks empathy and appears to be a pretty crappy friend.

She's fantastic as a character--she adds great humour, but she's not shown an iota of growth from the selfish, judgemental, and nasty person she was to Bong Hee

I, too, guessed right about CEo Byun. The first clue was the pants. Second, I thought there would be something like "I dont want you to suffer if this gets found out so I'll do it instead since Im old and rich already, not much to lose if my license gets cancelled". I love ceo byun so im afraid he'll get found out. :(
I hope JW and BH realize soon that their fathers are both just victims to DA Jang's manipulation. I say no to noble idiot and romeojuliet scenarios.

Today's episode was everything. We can really go forward with our theories now.
There were so many things to deserve high ratings!
It had the moment of happiness when our mr bang woke up.
It had the office quarrell which is really hilarious which of course leads to the urge of jiwook to have a proper meeting in vain.
The most awaited moment. I.e. the rivals finding themselves to be the future in laws. Man bong hee can run and look so cool in that outfit and top bun. I love her. Their expressions are so on the spot.
The revealation from the writternim that DA after all played a role in both the lives of our jibong!
Bong hee appa being a nice man and falsely accused atleast for the drink and drive case.
Mr byun sacrificing his sense of honesty for the kids and to put hyun soo behind the bars.
And man the highlight was the last part. Its so romantic and how can one really criticize the scene. Actually people criticizing it prove that how romantic it was. And of course they have their own ship to drive which is a major cause for criticizing it. That was hot and if the bts is out i am dead. Oozing chemistry. Other dramas had such scenes but never gave me that feeling. I never ship for real but this couple is making me behave out of my norms.

wow! Loved the whole episode. Now I assume since the killer will have amnesia we will concentrate con BE's past and her connection to JW. In his dreams he seems to starting to remember the night of the fire but the face of the culprit seems to come from the "brainwashing" the DA caused to little JW.
It will be interesting to see how it develops. BE became a lawyer to defend people falsely accused like her father.

I always thought it was weird that he saw BH's father smiling in his nightmares...exactly like the way he did in that one photo. Definitely some brain-washing going on. It's possible JW hasn't even seen him before and he's using that photo to complete his memory of the figure in the fire. BH's words definitely indicate that her father was somehow involved though.

I don't like JH much and I hope the writer won't give JH and EH as the end game. I didn't think JH is sorry enough for the suffering that she did to BH. She has never apologized and I think she's worse than YJ since not only she cheated with BH's ex BF but she also spread untruth rumors about BH while they were at school. As BH's said before, is she even a human? She's totally selfish and self absorbed and I think EH is too good for her. I see that YJ has been redeemed slowly over the course of the drama and it would be better if YJ can like EH back.

Are there other ways of Ji Wook finding out who Bong Hee's father is? Absolutely. But I much very appreciated the very relevant method this drama chose. It's like a a box to check whenever Chang Wook is in a drama: lovingly look at his otp after a passionate night in bed. Check, super duper check.

I don't know in what world Ji Hae has shown any more growth or personal accountability than Yoo Jung. Much like Yoo Jung she knows what she did was shitty and exactly like Yoo Jung she does absolutely nothing to try and make amends. Yoo Jung using her tried and true avoidance tactics and refusing to actually talk about the issue, and Ji Hae pretending she didn't take part in making Bong Hee's life hell.

But even worse she acted catty and horrible to Bong Hee up until Bong Hee found out she was the one her dead ex-boyfriend was cheating on her with and she took part in ruining her reputation and making her life hell for months on end. She just feels bad now (kind of) because it's out in the open now. I know you don't like Yoo Jung but that's no reason to thrust an even worse person on him. Him moving on emotionally doesn't mean he gets some shitty love line, it just means he either finds a way to forgive her and himself regardless of what she's doing with herself or he finally manages to cut her out of his life entirely.

exactly! I don't like either of them to be paired with Eun Hyuk, he deserves better. He's changed, he's proved it, that he can be a good friend to Wook and Bong hee too. And are they going to pair him with another cheating lady? I don't want to. He can find a nice girl. Or just by god's sake let wookie forgive him and love him back!!!

why would they ruin such a perfect moment with that photo, I'm so mad, but also waiting so bad to see what really happened. May I say I hate youtube accounts who love to spoil to us moments like this.

I agreed with you @lollypip, It's nice to see a drama where leads act like a real person/couple. I get really annoyed when kissing scenes look so unnatural and uncomfortable for example barely touching lips, deer on a headlights syndrome, or just pressing lips really hard and making weird movements with the head. In real life people don't kiss like that, they show adult kisses like they're elementary schoolers. I know maybe it's a matter of culture or censorship or whatever, but come on.

Don't get me wrong, I love a lot kdramas over latinamerican soap operas for many reasons to count, but one of them is that leads take time (sometimes) to build a relationships and it is not only based on physical attraction. They don't act like animals on heat each time they see and don't seem to swallow each other either, I love that, because every physical contact has its time and meaning to the relationship. But it is and would be really awesome for the actors to play more realistic scenes and show realistic reactions too. I've watched 30 something dramas or so, and some clips of the newer ones and from 2012 up to now there has been changes and that's good. They should be improving and daring to do more without falling into vulgar and bad taste.

I loooooooooved the mothers/children meeting so much! And in generAL I can't keep surprising myself on how well Ji Chang Wook does comedy situations so well!!! I've only seen him doing action and dealing with darker feelings (Healer, K2) , but watching him as No Ji Wook has put him in a higher level as an actor. He portrays so many different and opossite emotions in one scene that is amazing.

WOW you guys were true about CEO Byun setting they false evidence LOL I guess I'm not detective material.

I know it was to much to ask for a new girl to match Eun Hyuk, but I think it'll be funny to watch if he's after prosecutor Na. Although maybe another theory could be that he just finds her funny and wants to make sure she calls him if anything happens to YJ while she's drunk, and yes even when Prosecutor Na has grown a lot and I like how judgmental she is about YJ actions, it would also be hard on YJ who hasn't show any growth as a person but seems to be improving as a prosecutor in a sense that she wants to find the truth. And I hope she doesn't get carried away as Chief Prosecutor wants her to.

Sorry but I am really bad remembering how to spell character's names. Seriously I cannot wait to next week.

Plus I can't believe how badly time Viki's ads are timed though LOL, seriously in that moment? But anyways I love them :D
