Tunnel: Episode 12
by TeriYaki
Tunnel sets up what promises to be a thrilling conclusion for this fast-paced drama, and this is only the beginning. The action has accelerated in recent episodes as a long-hidden murderer pulls our team into his dangerous game. Even though the killer manages to stay one step ahead of the police, Kwang-ho will never give up until he catches the man whose path he first crossed over thirty years ago.
EPISODE 12 RECAP
Jung Ho-young meets his prison visitor, who explains that he heard that he witnessed a murder thirty years ago. Dr. Mok looks amused when Jung assumes that he’s a reporter who wants details about the murders. Jung explains that his victims were choked multiple times, but Dr. Mok corrects his narrative and says that they were killed right away.
Jung looks at his visitor with understanding and breathes, “It was you.” Then, Jung laughs as he wonders aloud, “Who will recognize whom first? And who will catch whom first?” It’s Dr. Mok’s turn to laugh as he outlines the life that Jung can look forward to in prison, locked up just as he was in the mental hospital.
Jung trembles as Dr. Mok details life in solitary confinement, flooded by memories of his terrifying years in the mental hospital. Back in his cell, Jung is tormented by his mother’s words and Dr. Mok’s question, “Did it hit you yet? Will you be able to stand it?”
Jung clutches a bible as he feverishly mutters the Lord’s Prayer, but nothing can calm the fears planted by Dr. Mok, who had promised him, “You can get out of here after you die.” Dr. Mok laughed at Jung as the prisoner noticed the fountain pen in his pocket, with the name “Noel” visible on the cap.
In his cell, Jung tears his shirt into strips and takes out his bible. Eerily calm, he scribbles something onto a page and tells himself, “I can’t leave just one present. The game needs to be fair.” Once that’s done, he gazes at the window.
Jung’s feet dangle over the floor as his body hangs from the window bars, the scribbled note clutched in his hand. Sun-jae, Kwang-ho, and Jae-yi join the rest of their team at the prison, where Kwang-ho asks a guard if something happened, insistent that Jung had no reason to kill himself.
Jae-yi inquires about a note and the guard hands Kwang-ho the torn page with an explanation that it was left for him. Everyone reads the one word written on the page: “Noel.” Just then, Jung’s body is wheeled out, and Kwang-ho unzips the bag to look down at his face, frustrated that death silenced the killer forever.
Dr. Mok gazes out his office window with a huge smile when Sun-jae enters. He visits with Dr. Mok and laments that Jung’s suicide means that they will never know if he saw the face of the killer.
Dr. Mok learns that Kwang-ho was the one who realized that Jung was a witness. He saw the killer smoke a cigarette in the tunnel, but Jung never smoked. When Dr. Mok asks how Kwang-ho can know a detail from thirty years ago, Sun-jae can only stammer.
Dr. Mok reasons that no one but the detective in the tunnel would know about the cigarette and then remembers Jung’s amused question, “Who will recognize whom first?” Kwang-ho walks in to summon Sun-jae, mindful of the doctor’s stare as he becomes lost in the memory of that fateful night.
Kwang-ho asks if the doctor has something to tell him, but Dr. Mok shakes off his distraction as Sun-jae stands to leave. Outside, Kwang-ho asks Sun-jae if he told Dr. Mok that he’s from the past, but he reassures Kwang-ho that he doesn’t need to worry about the doctor.
Dr. Mok watches Kwang-ho depart, sure that the detective from his past died, and we see a young man smiling down at Kwang-ho after he was hit on the head with the rock. In the present, he laughs to himself and says, “It’s nice to meet you again.”
At Hwayang University, Jae-yi updates Dean Hong on the fact that Jung Ho-young was a witness to one of the murders thirty years ago. They agree that the experience influenced the young Jung Ho-young to become a copycat killer, which explains the similarities in the murders. Jae-yi admits that she’s bothered by Jung’s suicide because it doesn’t fit his profile, and Dean Hong is surprised to hear that he left a clue for Kwang-ho.
Jae-yi joins Dr. Mok in his office for a game of chess and asks for his theory on Jung’s suicide. He explains that as a former mental patient, Jung was probably triggered by his memories of being locked up and decided to end his life.
Dr. Mok notes how powerful memories can be, and Jae-yi admits that she has no memories of her early years in Korea. She learned that someone is looking for her, but she can’t think of who it could be. Dr. Mok suggests that her memories will return when the time is right.
At the police station, the Violent Crimes team studies Jung’s clue. Because of the suicide, the seven murders attributed to him will be closed, and the search for the real culprit responsible for the deaths of Yoon Da-young and Nam Joo-hee will end. Sung-shik warns his team that they must continue their investigation in secret.
Kwang-ho quotes Jung Ho-young as he briefs the team, “This is the case that no one knows of and has no record of,” and reviews the six cases for their benefit. When he admits that the investigation in 1986 was a complete failure, Sung-shik points out that even if they are late, they can still catch the culprit.
Kwang-ho lists the common traits of the victims: they were in their late teens or twenties, were strangled with stockings, and were marked by the killer with dots and murdered around 9:00 p.m. Tae-hee is confused when Kwang-ho claims that they visited the site of the crime at that same time while armed with flashlights.
Min-ha points out that he must be talking about the chief and cautions his partner to focus. (Oh my, the look on Tae-hee’s face!) Sun-jae adds that thirty years later, Yoon Da-young and Nam Joo-hee became Victims #7 and #8, and were killed and displayed in the same manner as the previous victims.
Min-ha asks why the killer murdered again after thirty years, especially when the statute of of limitations had expired. Sun-jae proposes that the killer was somehow triggered, and Kwang-ho mumbles that perhaps it was because of the dead Park Kwang-ho. When Min-ha asks who died, Sung-shik rushes in to change the subject.
Sung-shik thinks that in addition to the clue left by Jung and the ink produced by Shin Ae Chemicals, they need to determine the recent victims’ movements on the day that each was killed. Before they leave to investigate, Kwang-ho takes Sun-jae and Sung-shik aside and suggests that the murderer began to kill again because of the other Park Kwang-ho.
Sun-jae and Sung-shik agree that once the killer removed whatever threat he posed, he had no reason to kill again. Sung-shik suggests that they consult with Jae-yi, but he’s confused when Kwang-ho says that he won’t allow it.
Sun-jae intervenes and, after Sung-shik learns the truth about Jae-yi, he can only mutter, “I thought nothing else could surprise me.” Undeterred, Sung-shik insists that they need her help to profile the killer and tells Kwang-ho, “The faster you catch him, the faster you’ll go back home.”
Sun-jae contacts Jae-yi and admits that there is little information on the cases. Aware that Sung-shik worked on the original investigation, Jae-yi asks if he can provide details on the victims, since she believes the information will help her to profile the killer.
Sun-jae realizes that Jae-yi’s recent attack is behind her request and apologizes as Kwang-ho mutters his disapproval, but she assures Sun-jae that she wants to solve the case. He urges Kwang-ho to provide as many details as possible about the victims for Jae-yi’s use, and he readily agrees. Kwang-ho glances at the evidence board and reads out Jung’s clue, “Noel.”
Tae-hee and Min-ha interview Yoon Da-young’s friend to determine her movements the day of her murder and learn that she took a walk along the Haein River, a spot she frequented when she was frustrated over rude customers. Nam Joo-hee’s classmates share that they went home to study for an exam, but that she stayed at the playground because she didn’t want to go home.
Sung-shik interviews a former employee of Shin Ae Chemicals and learns that the ink was used in ballpoint and fountain pens, the most common writing tools of the day. Eventually, the product was the reason that the factory had to be shut down.
Sun-jae and Kwang-ho examine the different associations for the word “Noel,” and Kwang-ho remembers when Lee Seo-yeon’s brother explained that her necklace was engraved with her baptismal name, Lucia. He suggests that “Noel” could be a baptismal name and proposes that they investigate cathedrals that were present in 1986.
Kwang-ho and Sun-jae manage to compile a list of members with “Noel” as their baptismal name. Their final candidate, KIM GYUNG-TAE, becomes concerned when the detectives ask him about his whereabouts the days of the recent murders, but he has security footage from his convenience store to prove that he never left.
Kwang-ho concedes that perhaps Noel wasn’t a baptismal name, but Kim Gyung-tae shares that there was another member at his church who shared that name. He can’t recall the man’s real name, but he does remember that he was odd and always interested in the stories of a Vietnam veteran who bragged about the people that he killed. Once the old soldier died, he claims, Noel was no longer seen, and there’s no one who would know what happened to him.
At his desk, Dr. Mok taps his fountain pen and concludes, “That’s why he had no records or registered fingerprints.” He ponders the twist of fate that united Seo Yi-soo’s son with the detective from thirty years ago and marvels, “I never imagined that you would prepare such a chess game for me. Thank you. I will gladly play.”
Jae-yi studies her evidence board and asks herself why the killer marked his victims with dots. At the station, the team reviews their investigation, and Min-ha concludes that the killer couldn’t have followed the recent victims for long without being seen or recorded.
The section chief walks in and surprises the team as they rush to hide their evidence board. He orders them to provide backup for their fellow officers, who are busy with a gambling ring.
Sung-shik hands Kwang-ho a list of products made with the Shin Ae Chemicals ink and then leaves with Tae-hee and Min-ha as ordered. Kwang-ho announces that he’s headed for home and cautions Sun-jae not to follow him. On their way out, the detectives run into Dr. Mok, who uses the “I was just passing by” excuse.
Kwang-ho paces as Dr. Mok eyes the half-hidden evidence board and inquires about a new case, but Sun-jae admits that it’s the killer from thirty years ago who became active again. Dr. Mok notes that there must not be evidence for any of the cases and moves to flip the board over, but Kwang-ho slams his hand on it and explains that the information is confidential.
Just when Dr. Mok turns to leave, Kwang-ho notices the fountain pen in his jacket pocket. On his way out, Dr. Mok tells himself, “I don’t think he recognized me.” Sun-jae argues that it would be best to share the information and get help, but Kwang-ho reminds him of Sung-shik’s warning to keep the investigation a secret.
Kwang-ho knocks on Jae-yi’s door, worried when she doesn’t answer. She finally opens it and cheekily demands, “Are you going to break the window again?” Inside, Kwang-ho acts like an overprotective father and checks to make sure that all of her windows are secure, but he stops when he sees her whistle.
Jae-yi remembers his questions after her attack and asks if he recognizes it. She tells Kwang-ho that he asked for her identity when he saw the necklace, but he denies it and leaves, only to stare at her window from outside and apologize.
At the prison, Kwang-ho and Sun-jae learn that Jung had a visitor the day of his death, and they react in surprise when the log shows that it was Dr. Mok. When they ask him about the visit, Dr. Mok explains that he was curious about a deviation in the murders of Yoon Da-young, who was killed immediately, and Lee Seo-yeon, who was choked several times, as evidenced by the congestion on her face.
Jung’s admission that he choked Lee Seo-yeon repeatedly proves Dr. Mok’s theory that there were two killers. Kwang-ho is bothered that Jung killed himself immediately after the visit, and the atmosphere becomes tense while Sun-jae looks on uncomfortably. Kwang-ho stares at Dr. Mok’s smiling face as Sun-jae insists that it’s time to leave.
Jae-yi lectures her class and presents the 1986 case, interested in their theories as to why the culprit would kill again. One of her students proposes that there must have been a serious reason that moved him, and Jae-yi agrees before admitting that they have yet to figure it out.
As Jae-yi compares the dates of the murders, she notes that Yoon Da-young was killed two weeks after the discovery of Kim Young-ja’s body parts. She conjectures that the killer was unaware that she survived and that the discovery of her remains was the trigger that moved him to kill again. Jae-yi calls Sun-jae when she realizes that the killer has to be someone close to the investigation.
The next morning, Kwang-ho arrives at the station and learns of Jae-yi’s theory as the team meets privately to consider the unpleasant possibility that a policeman could be the killer, since they were the only people aware of Kim Young-ja’s recent death. Kwang-ho thinks to himself that Dr. Mok autopsied Kim Young-ja’s leg and appears lost in thought while the team eliminates all but two officers.
Kwang-ho stays behind at the station while the others leave to interview the two officers who could be the killer. Kwang-ho studies a photo of Jung’s clue, “Noel,” and suddenly pulls out the list of products that contained the ink used to mark the victims.
Kwang-ho’s eyes widen when he notices that it was used in fountain pens as he recalls the pen in Dr. Mok’s pocket. He turns to an officer to ask for a favor, and he discovers that Dr. Mok lived in Hwayang in 1986.
Kwang-ho runs outside as he recalls all of the times that Dr. Mok expressed interest in the case. He tells himself, “That scumbag was playing games with us. He had an eye on our every move.” Enraged, Kwang-ho runs from the police station.
As Jae-yi pores over her notes, she looks at the whistle around her neck and remembers Kwang-ho’s tearful admission that everything is his fault, puzzled as to why he would say that. Her phone rings with a call from her friend in England, who informs her that she found the name of the policeman who was looking for her.
Kwang-ho runs to Dr. Mok’s office at the university to search for a fountain pen and finds it in the doctor’s lab jacket, engraved with the name “Noel.” As he reels from the realization that he’s found the killer at last, Kwang-ho gets a call from Dr. Mok, who tells him, “I know who you are. I believe you’ve found out who I am.”
When Dr. Mok observes that they have an interesting connection, Kwang-ho erupts in anger into the phone, only to be told to calm down. Kwang-ho reacts in shock when Dr. Mok tells him, “Come to the tunnel right now,” with the explanation that they should settle things where they first met.
Dr. Mok warns, “If you don’t want Lieutenant Kim and Professor Shin, who lives on the first floor, to get hurt, come alone. I don’t want to kill another person because of you.” Kwang-ho’s face convulses in anger as he vows to kill Dr. Mok if he harms either of them.
Jae-yi arrives at the Yeonju Police Station to look for JUNG JAE-HYUNG, who turns out to be the friend that Sun-jae recruited to search for Yeon-ho. She’s surprised to learn that Sun-jae asked him to find her and that he explained it off as a personal matter.
Sun-jae can’t reach Kwang-ho, but he gets a call from Sung-shik and explains that his theory didn’t work out after all. Jae-yi calls him next and asks to meet right away.
Kwang-ho pants as he approaches the tunnel and pauses to pull out his flashlight. He approaches Dr. Mok, who waits calmly as he smokes a cigarette. He smiles as he greets Kwang-ho, “It’s good to see you, Detective Park Kwang-ho.”
Dr. Mok is pleased when he confirms that Kwang-ho is from the past, as there will be no record if he dies — people will just assume that it was the real Park Kwang-ho. When Kwang-ho asks about the real Park Kwang-ho, the doctor explains that he gave him a warning not to go any further.
The real Park Kwang-ho sought out Dr. Mok to inquire about an old man named KIM PIL-SOO. It seemed that when Dr. Mok volunteered at a senior center, the young man noticed that the doctor reached for an isolated syringe to inject into the old man, who died the next day.
Dr. Mok claimed that he gave him a vitamin injection, but Park Kwang-ho insisted that the old man was very healthy before his death. Park Kwang-ho tried to determine what medications Dr. Mok brought to the center, but was told that he needed a warrant.
He staked out Dr. Mok’s office, but was awakened by a call from the doctor, who called from a phone booth to caution, “In this world, there are some paths that you don’t need to walk.” Dr. Mok threatened to kill his grandmother unless he met the doctor alone. (Sounds familiar.)
When Park Kwang-ho ran home to check on his grandmother, Dr. Mok came from behind and plunged a syringe into his neck. As Park Kwang-ho fought back, something flashed in the garden. Even though Park Kwang-ho managed to drive away, he was chased by Dr. Mok.
Eventually, Park Kwang-ho succumbed to the injection and his car careened down the embankment. When Dr. Mok found him, he choked Park Kwang-ho to death with his bare hands.
In the present, Dr. Mok admits that he almost laughed when he first met Kwang-ho just after he had killed the real Park Kwang-ho. Dr. Mok smiles and assures Kwang-ho that he didn’t manipulate the cause of death and claims, “I’m not as nasty and cowardly as you think I am, Detective Park.” His smile tightens when Kwang-ho answers, “Shut that mouth of yours, you piece of trash.”
When Sun-jae meets with Jae-yi, she asks why he didn’t tell her when he learned her real name. He explains that he’s not the one to answer her questions, so she asks, “Then who should?”
That would be Kwang-ho, who gets slammed to the ground by Dr. Mok as the air shimmers around them. Jae-yi demands to know why Sun-jae would suggest that she approach Kwang-ho with her questions and is shocked when he stammers, “Because… he’s your father.” Jae-yi retorts that Kwang-ho is younger than she is, so Sun-jae explains that he’s from the past.
Dr. Mok attacks Kwang-ho with a syringe, but he manages to fall back and throw the doctor over his head as a flash splits the darkness. Dr. Mok isn’t so calm as he screams for Kwang-ho when he finds himself alone. Kwang-ho looks around and demands to know, “Where did this bastard go?”
As Kwang-ho runs through the tunnel, he passes a bicyclist with a battered radio strapped to his bike that plays a song from the past. Kwang-ho scans the tunnel in shock and asks himself, “Am I in the past again?”
COMMENTS
What a thrilling and well-paced episode, packed with even more information to keep us occupied as the show takes a week off to prepare the final episodes. If this hour was any indication, I can’t wait to see what the writer has in store for us. The fight sequences have managed to up the intensity of the story as our heroes give everything they’ve got to catch not one, but two serial killers now.
It’s hard to imagine that, after all the angst surrounding Kwang-ho’s steadfast desire to return to the past, that when he finally got there, it’s not immediately as welcomed as he anticipated. How could it be? Kwang-ho finally knew the identity of the serial killer that plagued Hwayang thirty years ago, only to find himself ripped from the tunnel mid-fight, leaving behind a maniac who just threatened to kill Sun-jae and Jae-yi. As happy as Kwang-ho will be to be reunited at long last with Yeon-sook, there is sure to be a pull on him from 2017, where an undetected killer moves freely among those he cares for. I sincerely hope that Kwang-ho will manage to catch the serial killer in the past and protect the future that he’s glimpsed firsthand now that he knows who he’s looking for.
We learned a great deal about the man who marks his victims with dots and how the other Park Kwang-ho figures into his story. Surprisingly, we discovered that Dr. Mok hasn’t refrained from killing all these years, rather, he’s targeted elderly patients whose deaths don’t sound any alarms, at least until the sharp-eyed real Park Kwang-ho noticed that “special” syringe that equalled death. I think we have yet to discover Dr. Mok’s true reasons for killing, although we have been given some hints. Obviously, he considers murder a game of some sort, and he seems emboldened by his ability to evade detection and capture. With his ever-present smile as a mask, Dr. Mok has successfully hidden out in the open, free to kill again and again. He’s a truly frightening villain, and now, the only person standing in his way is Kwang-ho.
As Kwang-ho made his breakthrough, he became isolated from his team, unable to voice his suspicions out of concern that someone (I’m looking at you, Sun-jae!) would confide in Dr. Mok. This is where the two Park Kwang-ho’s meet: They both possess incredible intuition and a tenacity that leads them to the truth. Kwang-ho had the same problem in the past, when he was convinced that he was looking for one killer guilty of multiple murders, a concept that was unheard of at the time. It’s how he found himself alone in the tunnel with the killer before his trip to the future. The future is no different as both Park Kwang-ho’s fight/fought the same enemy, with neither one being able to garner any support against a well-respected suspect.
What happens when Kwang-ho goes missing yet again? Will the team figure out who the killer is and stop Dr. Mok? How will Jae-yi respond, fresh from the news that Kwang-ho is actually her father? I can’t imagine that we’ve seen the last of our future team, but how the two timelines will resolve is anybody’s guess, because I don’t have a clue. I’m hoping that Jae-yi avoids the trap that Sun-jae has fallen into and realizes that Dr. Mok isn’t who he seems to be. If she’s anything like Kwang-ho, she must have good intuition, which would serve her well in this case. As far as Kwang-ho’s return to the past, if I were him, I would go find Dean Hong and enlist her help. But before he gets back to solving cases, Kwang-ho needs to find Yeon-sook and prepare to meet his daughter.

NOOOOOOO... we have to wait two weeks to find out what happens! This isn't fair at all!
What is this going to do? If Kwang Ho is in the past, how is that going to change what's happening in the present? The current chain of events has him disappearing and never coming back, so what is this going to do? Will the modern day gang even know this happened? Will we have a Nine-like situation where characters in the know have two sets of memories? Why are you making me wait, show?
Not cool. Not cool at all.

I had that thought too. I always knew that Kwang Ho will return back to the past since this isn't his time no matter how much I love him being in the future with everyone. Never occur to me that he is back in the past NOW! Talking about a twist! But now he is back to his time, things will definitely change, right. Whatever small changes and decision he will make will definitely change the future, especially Jae Yi's. So when we get back to the present timeline (the one we've been watching for the past 12 episodes) will definitely gonna be different. Ahh...I am conflicted already. Maybe..just maybe the writer will make Kwang Ho travels back and forth from the past to the present without changing the reality/present much? I hope so because I am really not ready to say goodbye to my favorite characters.
I dont know anymore and I hate to wait, but what can we do? I guess it is about time I regret my decision to watch this drama while it is still airing TT_TT

same thoughts. if Kwang Ho now is in the past, definitely the present will change. But why did they show that Doc Mok is looking for Kwang Ho when out of the blue he disappeared?
I see a hole in this one.
Or maybe, the present will not change is that what the writer wants?

Maybe it's similar to parallel timeline in Nine. So Dr. Mok in the present live in the timeline where Kwang-ho disappeared fot the last 30 years. Now that Kwang-ho is back to the past, I think there would be another timeline opened up, one where Kwang-ho didn't disappear from his era, or maybe one where Kwang-ho only disappear for a short time in the past.

>But why did they show that Doc Mok is looking for Kwang Ho when out of the blue he disappeared?
Technically, nothing has been changed yet in the past so Kwang-ho and Doc Mok's present-day encounter can still happen, so as the memories of Kwang-ho in present day. By the next episode, when Kwang-ho starts making important decisions in the past timelines, then, we'll probably see some changes in the present. Just like in "Signal," the records of rescued victims become non-existent at present only when the crime was resolved in the past.

Unless they choose to go the route of mulitple universes. If they did they could conceivably have both timelines racing to find the serial killer. In a way that would mean KH would be 'trapped' in a past where he could re-write the future and experience Jai Yi as his daughter Yeon Ho and never know the Jai Yi we know. And Jai Yi and Sung Jae and Sung Shik will be in the present trying to find KH and work out that the serial killer is Mok. I kind of hope it doesn't happen that way but at the same time - I really love our present day crew and I want them to exist.

I am actually more interested to know how the tunnel works. Why is it KH can disappear every time he comes into contact with the murderer? And will he land in the era which he was taken from? Or some other era?

Yea I don't think there will be an answer to that. It's late in the series and so far there has been no build up of information regarding the mystery of the tunnel so it will likely remain that way until the end.

A two weeks wait after this excellent cliffhanger? Say it isn´t so.
Now that KH is in the past, will he change the present? Will he be able to catch Dr. Mok before he becomes a doctor? Are there going to be two timelines now? I really wanted to see him and his daughter bond. But at least we will get to see his reunion with his wife, right?
Also can I just say it was so great that he figured out that it was the Doctor? I almost thought we had to wait for this realization to hit in the last two episodes. This is so exiting. Tunnel what have you done to me? Every week I wait impatiently for you, and now it is going to be two :(

But since Jae-yi has already questioned some of Kwang-ho's "weird" behaviour and questions, I think it would be much easier for her to make that quantum leap. After all, Sun-jae the cynic could believe in that strange tale. I'm just worried about the emotional fallout she will experience after that unexpected news.

He knows Dr Mok's full name, and that he lives in Hwayang, so it might be possible for him to capture Dr Mok. But he has no evidence against him, so what crime can he pin him on?
I am so glad he managed to figure out it was Dr Mok all along. All that red herring about Noel being a baptized name... I thought he would go round in circles for another episode or two.

After that last scene, I'm even more convinced that Kwang-ho's time travel is a one way chance from the universe to right this one wrong, instead of an ability. That's why he couldn't control when and how he would go back. My theory is: since he finally connected the dots and confirmed the fact that Dr. Mok is the resident serial killer they were searching for, and that one of his murder accidentally created another murderer, it opened up the time-travelling tunnel. And him being in the exact same situation as 30 years ago was the trigger that propelled him back to the past.
The important question is how the time flows between these two timelines. Will he go back to the time he went missing, which means Jung would still turned into a murderer? Or to the time before the serial killing take place to prevent it? Or the same amount of time has passed both in the present and past timeline?
The aftermath of Kwang-ho's sudden missing state would be both heartbreaking and confusing. I'm sad that he couldn't say goodbye to Sun-jae, Sung-shik, and Jae-yi. And juuust right after Jae-yi was hit by the unexpected news of her father's identity. But at the same time, I can't wait to see what excuses they would come up with to cover up his disappearance. And also how Sun-jae would deal with Jae-yi's emotional fallout all alone. I hope Sung-shik will be there to help him smooth things over.

I am guessing that Kwang Ho will try to prevent Jung Ho from turning into a murderer. Remember that part when he interrogated him? He might want to prevent the parents from making Jung Ho's alibi thereby Jung Ho will probably be sent to some sort of treatment for his animal killing.

Since Kwang Ho already know that the murderer has been Mok all along, as he has returned to the past, he will definitely seek Mok out and catch him. There is a huge time difference... 30 years. Alot can change if certain dynamic in the past is changed.
Tunnel would go more like "Signal" like this time around... I am not complaining, I am rooting for Kwang Ho finding Mok in the past then may be, Sung Jae will probably not meet Professor Shin (meaning he might meet her some other way)
Maybe Kwang Ho will also be able to prevent his wife from dying, therefore, Jae Yi won't be an orphan at all and all that adoption thing will not happen.
The possibilities are endless!

For me, although it seems that the present timeline is still continuing, but the fact that Kwang Ho goes back to his time for sure would cause major changes for the characters that lives in 2017. So it makes me wonder if the writer will show what will happen to 2017 characters now that Kwang Ho has gone back to the past. Let say he is now living in 1986/1987 (before he is transported to the future) and with the knowledge he has from the future he will be able to tweak few things (even living with Yoon Seok will bring major changes to 2017 Jae Yi's lives), and ended up he wont be transported to 2017 anymore. So what will happen to everyone else that we have known since episode 1? So many things will change, and probably the lives of 2017 characters wont be the same since they are basically living their lives in which Kwang Ho is not missing.
Will they remember anything? I dont know. Depends on the writer, but if anything they should retain memories from another timeline since Kwang Ho did stays with them for a few months. It is interesting to see how the writers gonna intertwine these two timelines, since I believe whatever changes Kwang Ho do in 1986 will greatly impacts the future.
I dont even know if I am making any sense. Sorry!

I don't think that change will come so soon like everyone is saying - the big divergences really happen several years later when Yeon-sook dies. That's way off happening right now in the past Kwang-ho's been returned to. I'm pretty sure that how much time KH spent in the future is how much time has passed in 86/87 (because remember the flashbacks/forwards of Yeon-sook dealing with missing Kwang-ho).
Sun-jae's mother is still murdered and the criminal not found, so there's no reason for his trajectory to have changed. At this point, Jae-yi's trajectory only changes if Yeon-sook goes on to survive *later* - the actual cascade of consequences is more complex but I think the show will keep it broadly straightforward. So the really significant change to the future won't happen until Mok is actually *caught* in 87 - that's thing that needs to happen and that's what KH was sent to the future to find clues for in the first place. Then I think it'll proceed like Signal: the hunt is on in both timelines, he gets caught in both timelines at roughly the same time (a little quicker in the future for reasons of giving us closure), but when he's caught in 87, then we get a total timeline reset.

You're right, I forgot about Yeon Seok's accident that will happen 5/6 years after Kwang Ho is missing which turn Jae Yi to the person we know now. And as you said, Kwang Ho will probably will stop Yeon Sook from getting into that taxi if he manage to live after 1987, hence no cold Jae Yi.
In Signal, it feels like the past and present is moving in parallel, so I wonder if the writer intends for Tunnel to be that way, since time travelling is very tricky. I was sorta hoping that the writer make the past, the present and the future moves linearly, so that even with Kwang Ho's presence in 1987 changes everything.
Though truth be told, I am still vary with the idea of time-reset. I think I am gonna feel a bit cheated but everyone has been suffering since Kwang Ho's disappearance especially his family, so a reset might be the only way for a happy ending?

That moment when drama throws a huge twist and you had to wait for 2 weeks (!!) for new episode. I'm already losing my mind tbh.
Finally we get some info on young PKH. I guess it was totally unrelated incident that makes him investigating Dr but hopefully we get more on how that incident led him to the unsolved cases.
And I'm glad that KH detective intuition is making him cautious since SJ seems really trusting Dr. It is too bad though that he didnt share his thinking with the rest of the team or at least with Chief. There are more than policemen who involve with that case. I was like...shouting at my screen for them to widen their suspects. Haha.
Now that Kwangho is back to his time and SJ is trusting Dr, I wonder what will happen to Dr. and the case. I wonder if KH leaves some clues about Dr for SJ before he went to meet Dr at the tunnel. And what happened to JY now that she is introduced with the idea that KH is her dad but KH is gone. Will KH be able to find Dr in the past and arrest him? What will happen after that? Is future that we see will change ala Signal? Arghh...too many questions~
While I'm happy that Kwangho get another chance with Yeonseok and Yeonho, I still wants his interaction with Sunjae, Jaeyi and Chief. I want both....

I'm glad that the show didn't forget about young Kwang-ho and I loved that they even remembered to add small details like his phone falling and getting burried in the dirt because it was there when our Kwang-ho and Sung-shik went to inspect, they just didn't see it.
I wished Kwang-ho would call someone before going to meet dr. Mok in the tunnel! I know he threatened him with Jae-yi and Sun-jae but he should've called Sung-shik and told him, that way at least Sung-shik would've known that he returned to the past! But I understand him, at that moment he couldn't think of anything but to get to him the fastest he could!

Never mind phoning. I wished KH had at least texted SJ that Mok is Noel, even if SJ reads that much later.
And I sure want to know why SJ is so chummy with Mok when he was closed off with everyone else in the beginning of the show. Mok is almost like a father figure to SJ, the way he treated Mok with such respect. Or was Mok SJ's teacher at the police academy as he addresses Mok as Prof and they somehow connected then
Whatever the reason, SJ will be devastated when he learns that Mok is his mother's killer. At least he now has JY to lean on when that happens.

What a week! I'm not looking forward to the wait but I'm kind of impressed by the cliffhanger. Epic. I love this team and even though I'm glad we're in the past, I'm kind of sad that we may never see Kwang Ho with his present gang again.
I guess it had to happen but even though for justice and Kwang Ho's marital happiness I want him back in the past catching the serial killer I'm still a bit sad. Also I'm wondering what kind of time travel have we happened upon here. If Kwang Ho catches Dr Mok in the past, does that mean that Sung Jae never becomes a cop? What about Jin Yi/Yeon Ho. What will she be like if she's raised by two loving parents?
Or is the present/future immutable? Maybe Kwang Ho won't be able to catch Mok because the future has already happened and so now it must happen.
I can't wait.

Good point. Also I'm sure that there's going to be something that will make it hard for KH to find Mok (like maybe a name change) because he doesn't know what he looks like in the past AND there aren't any computers in the past with all the information linked together. So he'll have to first convince people there is a serial killer, then somehow use the knowledge he gained in the future to find the serial killer without giving that away. It's not as easy in practise as it seems. But I really hope he can change the future and save those people and his daughter and wife.

I wonder if we will see scenes from the future because when he traveled to the future we haven't seen many scenes from the past that makes me think that the writer will shift to the past now and freeze the future because what will happen will change many people's fate.
KH has to find the killer again after all the struggles to find him in the future but this time he has some clues, so i will be on my toes to see how he will catch him, and that means Yeon Sook might be in danger since the killing only stopped after KH disappeared it's more likely KH's appearance will motivate the killer again.
KH can start with 19 years JHY, and the 5th victim who the killer thought she was dead.

I have an inkling the writer might focus now on the past and less on the future because there isn't enough episodes to focus on both equally, especially with the changes that are going to occur in the past that will affect the future. Besides, KH also needs time to search for the young Dr Mok in the past, and the technology back then isn't that advanced or quick.

No no, he gave himself away for sure in his conversation with Sun-jae. Around 10 minutes into the episode, when Sun-jae says that KH realised JHY wasn't the murderer when he found out he didn't smoke and the murderer smoked in the tunnel, Dr Mok replies, 'How did KH know that the murderer smoked in the tunnel? It's been 30 years' ...but Sun-jae never said it was 30 years, so how could Dr Mok know that? He didn't realise Mok's slip then because he was occupied thinking about how to protect KH's identity, but he will later, I'm sure of it.
Plus Jae-yi's found out the trigger for the new murders - the discovery of the survivor - and they're on the right track with looking for officers, but they just need to go one step further and remember the medical examiner.

There is no obsession with fountain pens. Dr Mok merely used it as a tool to mark his victims. He is too emboldened by his murders to feel afraid of the police. Maybe he felt he was omnipresent or something. He even told the detectives that fountain pens can be used to mark the dots on the victims' ankles. He even challenged God with a 7th victim when he realized that the 5th victim had miraculously escaped death.

This episode was great, with that intensity and that cliffhanger I don't know how they expect us to wait for two weeks, that is just them being a bit too mean to us!
I always wanted Kwang-ho to go back to the past but this is not how I imagined it to happen! Now that he's back, he needs to find dr. Mok and catch him but will that change everything in the future? This just makes me wish for parallel universe because I don't want to see our present timeline freeze, I want them to look for Kwang-ho and find out that dr. I have questions:
I think I am missing something...why did Jae Yi keep wondering about the dots on the victims' feet? Don't the dots just represent how the victims were numbered sequentially? I was only marveling at how they were spaced at equal distance.
Another thing I don't understand - for someone who has such great fear of being imprisoned, why did Jung bait the police earlier?
So Dr Mok isn't just angry with women in short skirts? He doesn't like old people too? I don't buy that he targets the old folks because their deaths won't sound alarms. Assuming his modus operandi is the always the same, wouldn't it be suspicious if there is always one or two old people who die after getting a vitamin jab? They died the next day, not like days later. I really need some good explanation on Dr Mok. Maybe his randomness is the most frightening?

I think Jae-yi just wanted to know why he put a dot instead of any other mark, and also why it was placed on the victim's ankle. From the story Sun-jae and Kwang-ho get about Noel, I think maybe Dr. Mok is influenced by that soldier from Vietnam war. But instead of tattooing the number of victims on his own body, he choose to put it on his victim's body instead.

That's like why the killer used stocking as a tool. For us, it's just a tool to, well, kill. But, as Jae-yi (I think) said, it cannot kill anyone instantly. So the method reflected the criminal's profile. That's Jae-yi's obsession which Kwang-ho does not understand because for him catching the culprit is more important.

This is a new method that should be explained in the next episode because it is inconsistent with what we know so far about his profile.

I think the method of killing which is the use of stockings and how they were executed tell more about the psychology of the killer than the dots.
If I want to think psychology - Numbering the victims may mean that he will continue to kill or he brands his victims like objects or lesser than human.
I just hope show tells us the significance if they keep showing Jae Yi mulling over it.

I think Dr. Mok is a narcissistic type serial killer. The dot showed his 'achievement' and he wants the world to know. That is why he did not like the copy cat and wanted Jae Yi and Sun Jae see the difference; more like saying 'I m not like that pathetic murderer, I m better murderer, I m different. It is not easy to find me'
I think Jae Yi had said about the narcissistic trait in previous episodes (maybe in the lecture hall or with the Dean) but she did not state it when she found the dots.

At first, I thought the dots only represents how Mok wanted to label his victims as 'mine' or as his achievement because he's narcissistic. But now I think there's something more given how Jae Yi dwells in it.
Re killing old people, I remember Mok thinks that he's doing the world a favor for eliminating bad people (note that his definition of 'bad' is twisted) hence, the women in skirts who went home late at night. Perhaps the detectives are right. He's been following his target for a while that's when he knew that these women are "bad" then off to murder them. And somehow, it's the same with old people, they're grumpy, dependent and gives no good to the society.

I love it! I love it! The ending was perfect and I am okay with how it has left us in light of the upcoming break. I hope Kwang Ho leaves a message buried in the tunnel for the future guys to find. Until he finds Dr Killer in the past, the future timeline will still be in danger. It will be a race against time because the quicker he resolves the past, the quicker the future will be set.

I wish Kwang-ho would left a clue for Sun jae and Jae yi, it's killing me how he was the only one suspecting Dr. Mok and now that he is back, will the future timeline still continue? will we ever see the three of them interacting again? i can't believe we'll have to wait so much for answers.
thanks for the recap.

I've always wondered what the future would become if and when Kwang Ho returns to the past, is it going to become another timeline?

I can't help but wonder if Jung Ho-young's life would have been better if he had a mother that cared and showed love to him. I can't blame his mother for having him locked up after he tried to strangle his younger sister (I suspect that he wanted to re-enact the murder that he witnessed out on his sister). The truth is, if she had done nothing to protect her daughter then she would've been remiss as a parent. But for her to lock him up and throw away the key and never visit him seems to have sealed his fate.
I don't think that he would've been any less of a psychopath even if she had visited him in the psych ward (because, for real, any normal person would have reported the strangling rather than try it out on their own sibling), however, it may have mitigated his impulses to kill as it seems that his mother clearly had a very strong influence on him.
On another note, I didn't expect Kwangho to return to the past so soon. I like how the script writer constantly surprises me and circumvents my expectations. It brings to mind a host of questions, did Kwangho return to the past with all the memories of his future life? If he did, then he can clearly take steps to prevent the tragedy waiting for him in the future. If he didn't, then he may end up making the same mistake that he did in the past, which was going after a serial killer with no back up and no gun. Gosh, the wait for the next episode is going to be hard! Does it mean that I won't see the adult Kim Sung Jae and Jae-yi again? That is going to be very hard!
Clearly, Dr. Mok, who is the true villain of this piece, was still killing all this time. He just wasn't strangling women any more, which begs the question, what were his motivations to kill? He's highly skilled, methodical, careful and educated which makes finding him a tough job. Fingers crossed for the police. Knowing what I know about Dr. Mok, I can't help yelling at my screen for Sung Jae and Jae-yi to stop confiding in him as much as they do, they tell him everything! Gosh! I can't wait for the next episode.

I doubt Jung's life would be any better even if his mother showed love for him. His mom tried to protect him by creating a fake alibi for him when he was accused of killing the women. I think she did love him and didn't think he was capable of murdering those women. However, he already had the violent tendencies as a teenager ie. he killed the dogs. Witnessing SJ's mom's murder is merely a trigger to realize his truly morbid tendencies, which explained why he tried to strangle his sister. By this time, his mom couldn't close an eye to the incident anymore because it concerned a human life, and his sister at that, which was why she requested that he be locked away. I think it's at this point his mom decided to give up on him.
I am not sure what KH could have done to prevent Jung from becoming a murderer. Perhaps if he had prevented Jung from witnessing SJ's mom's murder?

And that's where I think it all went wrong! She shouldn't have come up with an alibi for him in the first place! He was not the one who murdered Soe Yi-soo it was dr. Mok and he witnessed it, instead of making that alibi for him she should've let the police interrogate him and maybe under that much pressure he would've confessed! She said it herself that she didn't do it for him but rather for her own reputation, I don't think she cared much for him, you could say it's tough love but that's not how it's done! Of course, there is no guarantee that he would've grown-up normal, like you said, he showed violent tendencies, but I still think he would've been different if his mother didn't cover up for him then!

This episode was everything I wanted and more!
I did consider Dr. Mok having manipulated Jung Ho Young into killing himself and this episode proved that theory. I love the fact that Jung Ho Young just upped the stakes though. Yes, he did end up killing himself, but it didn't go down without shining a light on Dr. Mok, so to speak.
Dr. Mok seems to think he's some sort of evil overlord. At least, the success of all his murders seems to have emboldened him. I hope he gets taken down HARD (both by Kwang-Ho and Sun-Jae) because I for one would love to see him squashed like a bug.
Poor Sung-Shik. The look on his face when he found out that Jae-Yi was Kwang-Ho's daughter. He must have dealt with so much stress this week and the suprises just dont end. And when he finds out that Dr. Mok is the killer, he's going to be madder. :D
One thing I loved this episode was the face that Kwang-Ho put head to good use. It was satisifying to see him figure stuff out, one after the other. Now, if only Sun-jae could get with the program, this would be great!
I really wish Jae-Yi would stop seeking out Dr. Mok. My alarm bells keep ringing whenever she's with him. He's the other killer you theorized about. Get away!
All in all, great episode! This has greatly built up my anticipation for the final few episodes.

You're right. Generally, it would be safe to say juvies won't be sentenced to death nor would their detention period be as long as an adult offender's, even for a capital offense such as murder. However, they would have a record. The police would know of them.
What's been frustrating for the police in this show is they don't even have a suspect, until now. Mok's arrest would solve the murder cases and there would be closure for the victims' families, no matter how inadequate the punishment may be. SJ would not be as damaged as he is now, even though having your mom murdered is damaging enough.

Hmm so kwang ho returned to past but how is he going to catch the killer without dna tests? They weren't known then? Right? In 1986 or 87 whatever it is. They already were searching for the no. 5 corpse remember? No. 1,2,3,4,,6 were discovered! I hope I'm right here! So that psycho killer is going Underground for 30 years until he finds no. 5 than he will start to kill again. oh god my head is bursting with theories!!! Not sure I am understanding @fgb4877 or you correctly. I thought the former meant that Kwang Ho should have told his colleagues and Jae Yi about his suspicions of Dr Mok. I agree with her.
Even if he wasn't very confident of his own conjecture, he should have done it the moment he found the fountain pen in Dr Mok's cloak.
I presume what you are saying in your post is that Kwang Ho returning to the past with this piece of information, can easily write a letter to his colleagues as long as he sends the letter before the 2016/17 killings start?

KH need to write that letter naming date and location of the murders that will happen only as a backup record in the event of his untimely death, as if he's still alive in the future 2017, KH himself can stop the murders from happening. This is assuming he came back at the correct past timeline and that he remains a cop until the future 2017. There's no need for him to write that letter otherwise.
Then again, if for some reason KH is unable to catch Mok in the 86/87 timeline and remain a cop until future 2017, would Mok even be a police medical examiner? Not likely, as KH would already know who Mok is. Then Mok wouldn't know about victim no 5 surviving which in turn would not reignite his killing spree. So, we then have no story for future 2017. ?
In connection with 86/87 JHY, I think it would be better if KH can convince him to be a witness against Mok for the murder of SJ's mom. SJ did know who Mok was during the prison visit and if he could identify Mok as the real murderer, that's one way to stop Mok in 87. As Beanies have pointed out, there's no other evidence to connect Mok to the murders in 86/87. Now, in present 2017 we know there are 2, Noel's tatooing pen and the witness account of JHY. Perhaps this is also one way to prevent JHY from becoming a murderer himself. So, which way will the show go from here?

technically the murders never stopped.. his approach changed for whatever reason - he kills as a doctor now.. the way he killed younger KH's grandpa..
The entire motivations for 2017 characters will be lost.. if mok is captured in 1986/7 timeline- UNLESS.. they show Sj still joining police force in honor of the cop who caught his mother's killer.. and his daughter but obviously growing up and becoming a psychoogist albeit with less childhood scars..
However, the only clue that KH in 1980s has that there is a child who goes to a particular church and his baptized name is NOEL (assuming mok may be real or not)... if mok flees before that, KH won't be able to capture him..
However, what he also knows is that murders will not happen until 5th victim is discovered. It would be really stupid of him to go looking for the 5th victim now.. and put her into danger..
The best thing to do really is, well keep an eye on both JHY and Mok (i fpossible).. because evidence is still lacking.. and ya, write a letter to his maknae who is chief in current timeline.. because he is most prone to believing all of this.. or even SJ (assuming KH now has enough time to connect with SJ and see him grow and our couple to be a childhood couple :P )

I think people are missing a lot of things about the 2017 timeline now that he has gone back to 30 years ago. Unless the writer establishes a parallel time line - which I am 99% sure will not happen - anything he does now in the past will change the future as soon as he steps outside the tunnel.
1. He now knows that Dr. Mok is the main culprit and can go after him. Mok was never a suspect in the past, but now he knows. And if worst comes to worst and he cannot find evidence, he can always stage a car crash off a cliff or something.
2. Since EVERYTHING in 2017 will change as soon as he starts doing things in the past, (ala Signal) what was left undone or unsaid in 2017 does not matter. What matters now is stopping the chain of events in 1987 - and he now knows who all the players are.
3. The main thing for me is how the writer will handle the 2017 side now - what will become of all the characters, especially his daughter? That is something we won't know for TWO FREAKING WEEKS!!. /grr

Ahhh!! This episode was amazing!! All I'm going to think about (for the next two weeks) is how they're going to wrap up the ending.
We have to remember that the future we have come to know is a result of the killer never being caught and Kwang-ho disappering. Sun-jae became a cop to find his mother's killer and Jae-yi has had a traumatic past that has impacted her future. Also Sun-jae and Jae-yi met because of their jobs. Now with Kwang-ho back in the past will we see a change in that future? Or will he be able to travel between the two times? If not will Kwang-ho stay involved in Sun-jae's life because he knows that in the future Sun-jae will come to love and care for his daughter Yeon-ho? Or will he let destiny do the work?
There are so many more questions and only 4 episodes left. I can't wait to see how everything turns out.

Alright. I'm seeing a lot of hate on my favorite character Seon Jae. A lot of people are mad that he tells the doctor key details to crimes. Alright now let's think about his personality. BEFORE Kwang Ho, how many friends did he have? One. And that's the doctor. He's the type (and I'm this type too so I know) that opens up very slowly to people. Once he opens up to somebody, it must mean he has great respect for that person. That he trusts them to know his real self. He seems like the all or nothing type. When you've made a friend with Seon Jae you've made a friend for life. But forget about that, let's think of WHO this one friend of his is. He's a forensic anthropologist. He is directly tied to cases. He examines the dead bodies and tells the police what happened. Hear that, HE WORKS WITH THE POLICE. It would be sorta foolish for the police to NOT tell him what's going on. And on top of that he's proven useful to Seon Jae in helping him solve cases. This is not Seon Jae telling random strangers details about cases. This is Seon Jae telling a forensic anthropologist, who also happens to be his one and only friend, details about cases. Cut him some slack people.

Great episode and such a cliffhanger for the two week hiatus! Returning Kwang-ho to 1986 right now is a really surprising twist. Everything depends upon when he returns, I guess. If is it the same day and hour as he left, he can pick up pretty much where he left off with none the wiser about how he got his sudden new information. But if he has been gone for several months, he's got a world of explaining to do and I can easily see him coming under suspicion of murder himself. At least in the present time, he had Sung-shik as an ally when he first appeared but the Sung-shik of 1986 knows nothing. And other people are going to notice he is missing as well.
Also one of the big problems of time travelling to the past to change the future is that one might actually end up making things worse instead of better for the future. In the Michael Moorcock trilogy, The Dancers at the End of Time, most people who travel to the future are unable to return to the past because of the contradictions this travel entails. They are immediately returned to any future. A small number of people who can, for genetic reasons, remain in the past, must be very careful not to create these contradictions. They must tread very lightly so as not to change the future. I hope Kwang-ho gets to stay and live a long and happy life in the past with his wife , daughter and future children.

Alright, I'm reading a lot of hate on Seon Jae, who happens to be my favorite character. So a lot of the viewers are upset that Seon Jae is giving key details about the case to Dr. Mok. Now there are two understandable reasons why he would do this. Let's take a look at Seon Jae's personality. BEFORE Kwang ho shows up, how many friends does Seon Jae have? One, and that would be Dr. Mok. Seon Jae isn't the type to just willy-nilly open up to people. He needs to have a reason. Whether he respects that person, is touched by that person, connects with that person, etc. He needs to have a reason, or else he'll just close up. So we can safely assume that he has SOME sort of reason that he has decided to be friends with Dr. Mok. I mean look at his relationship with Kwang Ho. He absolutely refused to open up in the slightest way, until Kwang Ho gave him a reason to. Kwang Ho touched Seon Jae, so Seon Jae decided it was safe to open up around him. What I am saying, is that I'm sure he has a valid reason in his mind to be friends with Dr. Mok. Since we know that Seon Jae is the type to have a few close friends, we can also assume that once he's made a friend he's made a friend for life. He's the type that will be extremely loyal to that person no matter what, so it would make sense that he wouldn't suspect Dr. Mok as a serial killer. Alright enough on his personality, let's think about Dr. Mok's profession. He's a forensic pathologist. Now I looked it up and according to the dictionary a forensic pathologist is someone who are "doctors who study biopsy results and typically focus on studying the dead and how they died" So his job is to study dead people and how they died. How someone died is pretty crucial information for the police, so Dr. Mok is going to be working closely with the police. It would be wise for the police to give said profession as many details as possible, so the forensic pathologist can do his job better. What I'm saying, is its not like he's telling a random stranger all these key details to cases. He is telling a forensic pathologist who has proved himself to be clever and wise in solving cases, that also happens to be one of the few close friends Seon Jae has. Seon Jae is not an idiot, and in my opinion, is one of the smartest people on the team.

Tunnel have been predictable but able to bring the it good. With that, I think the future will change if Kwang Ho will catch Dr. Mok in the past. Yeon Sook will not die in 1992, Yeon Ho/Jae Yi will grow up with her parents(Kwang Ho and Yeon Soook), Sun-Jae is not going to be a cop. I'm actually more curious to find out what will happen to Jung Ho Young. He'll be the witness to be able to catch Dr. Mok then what?? Will he still be a murderer in the future?

I wonder if one of the reasons Dr Mok has been killing people is overpopulation. And, will we get to look further into his youth story at the church? At first, I thought the ending will be like jumanji's but now he goes back to the past in the middle of story, I dont know anymore.
