Food fights and cuddling in posters for The Lonely Shining Goblin

These new official posters for The Lonely Shining Goblin are eye-catching and elegant; they almost look more like they belong to a fashion spread in a glossy magazine than drama promo material. And it doesn’t hurt that we’ve got quite the polished, sophisticated-looking cast (having what looks like the world’s most elegant food fight).
The main poster above features the two leads, Gong Yoo (Big) and Kim Go-eun (Cheese in the Trap), playing an immortal goblin and his young human bride, respectively. In the additional posters, we also have Lee Dong-wook (Bubblegum) playing a reaper and the goblin’s roommate; he’s paired with Yoo Inna (One More Happy Ending), who plays a (human) chicken shop owner. They’ve got a flirty poster all to themselves, all dressed to the nines and looking saucy.
That leaves Yook Sung-jae (Village: Secret of Achiara) as the fifth wheel, although at least that means he gets to eat while the goblin and the reaper have their angry staredown? (I particularly enjoy how they’re glowering over a pepper mill as though it’s a sword, or something important.) Yook plays a chaebol character who’s descended from a family that has been looking after the goblin for many generations.
I’m sure I’ll be looking forward to the melancholy fantasy romance once it’s in action (as well as the secondary romance, which I hope will be quirky and fun) but for now I’m actually more excited about the promised bromance, with the trio of leading men making for an unconventional friendship. Based on the posters it looks like the goblin and reaper will be at each other’s throats (nothing like living together to bring out the aggression, yes?), although that’s the thing about being a goblin and/or reaper: They can’t kill each other ’cause they don’t die. Guess they’ll just have to hug it out eventually.
The Lonely Shining Goblin will premiere on Friday, December 2, as tvN’s next weekend drama.

Eye candy <3 my gosh Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook and Yook Sung Jae are such a threat to my heart's well being. And then you've got Yoo Inna with her killer look and Kim Go Eun looking lovelier than ever. Anyone claiming she's not pretty FIGHT ME!
That said, I dislike the scriptwriter, but I really hope this will be good, Gong Yoo alone make me watch crap for him, and then the rest are my darling as well T_T R.I.P my poor soul.

These are real boring for a fantasy drama. They made it look as if they're advertising a workplace comedy in some restaurant in the middle two posters, some makjang chaebol drama in the first one, and...Mr. and Mrs. Smith in the last one?
The one with Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun up top looks like some melo where one of them has cancer. Or memory loss. Or both.
What is Goblin supposed to be about again? Cause I have no idea from these posters.

I like it when posters don't give away too much.
In a similar vein, I despise it when movie trailers show a summary of the whole movie in 3 minutes. ("Why should I bother to go see it now?" I say to myself after sitting through a 16th commercial for coming attractions. "I've been shown who betrays who, the big plot twist that happens in the 2nd hour, and the big finish.")
But back to the posters. I don't think it's necessary for them to give us a feel for the k-drama. Just show me who's in it--and I'm a hetero woman, but just looking at Yoo In Na's leg and I'm anxious to give Goblin a try.
The best poster I've seen in a while was for "Joseon Gunman." (I'd seriously consider hanging that in my living room as art if somebody wanted to gift a print of that to me.) But as good as the poster was, I dropped the show (even though I loved the cast, costumes, and setting) because it was just too dang frustrating and didn't make sense. (If you loved that show, I'm sorry. But it was a major disappoint to me--especially after the stellar posters.)

The food fight posters pique my interest and they seem to be done in a very tongue-in-cheek way (lol with that glare-down over a pepper mill!), which, to me, bodes well for a melodrama as I hope it means that we may have the occasional light-hearted and funny scene with inconsequential bromance bickering to look forward to.
Kinda how Moonlight Drawn By Clouds threw out that Park Bo Gum 'Bombastic' teaser that had him dancing in a Crown Prince hanbok to a French pop song! It had nothing to do with the drama but it did sort of attract people's interest and it also promised a rather fun vibe to the show. Which it was!

The first poster does look so familiar, it has a very Weekend drama vibe to it. A couch as the center of the photo isn't quite innovative and definitely not fantasy. I guess we should tune in next week to see how big a part Yoo Inna's chicken shop has in the LONELY SHINING GOBLIN.

I'm getting more and more confused, the posters look good but where is the fantasy aspect of it ? It looks like a regular rom-melo drama poster. I'm anticipating this drama more then I should, I hope it doesn't flop. Also I'm already routing for the second lead couple, because YIN AND LDW look really good together and I also hope that the negativity surrounding KGE will eventually dissipate with this project, she is a great actress imo.

When these posters first came out sometime last week, I actually thought that some magazine got the cast together and they did a pre-drama airing photoshoot a la "Reply 1994" lol Dang, these are some nice material to use as their actual drama posters <3

As far as I can tell, it's not. They use the word "Dokkaebi" which can be used for goblins.
It's safe to say, the writer is putting her own spin on the creature. Plenty do. Think of mermaids.

What the posters tell me:
The drama tells about two families fighthing for the best chicken recipe for centuries (hence the food fight). Sung jae's family has Gong yoo as their goblin protector, who keeps their company afloat, and has been on competition ever since with Yoon na's chicken business. Yoon na's family has the reaper LDW on their side but master-servant relationship between them becomes complicated (cue sexy poster). The two families' reaper and goblin continuously fight (but at the same time friends) for centuries for the title of most tasty chicken resto. Meanwhile, single goblin wants to find love and finds it in Kim Go eun who is terminally ill (cue: their poster with them staring on the sky with caption: Will I even see her until Xmas?LOL). ?

So, I saw a clips of a new Goblin trailer(s?) floating around on instagram (sorry, I can't link to it for you guys).
A couple things:
-It looks like every time Kim Go Eun's character blows out a candle, Gong Yoo's character appears.
-Lee Dong Wook and Gong Yoo's roommate situation looks pretty funny. I think at one point, Lee Dong Wook tells Gong Yoo to get out of his room because he keeps coming in to ask about miscellaneous things...like his outfit??
-Lee El is in the show and she looks gr8 as usual.
-Grim Reaper looks like between his roommate and his girlfriend to be he's gonna have to put up with a lot, lol.
-Goblin and sword stuff + cloak.

The poster should make an intimate pose for the lead like some of twilight edward bella innocent and sexy.
The posters makes me confuse it's more like a poster of Let's eat series or romcom family drama than fantasy
