Healer: Episode 14
by javabeans
Oof. It’s a wrenching episode, taking us on a roller coaster ride of wild emotional ups and downs. Our hero has to grapple with some weighty, nearly unbearable, burdens, struggling to make sense out of the insensible. Thankfully for him, he isn’t as alone in the world as he thinks he is—and thankfully for us, roller coasters have upswings to counter the violent downs. Up, up, and away!

EPISODE 14 RECAP
Teacher dies. Jung-hoo arrives at the station in time to see his body being wheeled out to an ambulance, and his knee-jerk reaction is to charge at the scene furiously.
Dae-yong and several buddies are thankfully on hand to hold him back, though it’s a struggle. He flings them aside a few times, but they manage to prevent him from being spotted and drag him out of sight. It’s a good thing, too, because Detective Yoon just misses spotting Jung-hoo, keeping Healer undetected for the time being.
Dae-yong blocks Jung-hoo’s path to the car, and Jung-hoo slumps down against it, suddenly weakened. He reels, physically winded.
Then he gets in the car anyway, shoving Dae-yong aside, and drives off. Gah, not in that condition!
Min-ja is just as devastated by the news, and answers Dae-yong’s call with a heavy heart. But she pulls herself together to address the problem of their rogue Healer. So she puts in a phone call to Moon-ho, not bothering to introduce herself; she doesn’t need to, because the second she drops Teacher’s name, Moon-ho’s all ears.
Jung-hoo storms into the hospital with a single-minded goal, and his rage provides a tunnel vision that makes him think nothing of beating down the poor doctors who get in his way. He gets to the morgue efficiently—but once there, he hesitates, trembling in trepidation.
As soon as Moon-ho arrives at the hospital, Detective Yoon recognizes him and stops him to ask a few questions. Moon-ho’s got bigger concerns right now, but he can’t just shake off the curious cop.
Jung-hoo enters the exam room and has difficulty approaching the body, his hands shaking as he draws back the sheet. One look at Teacher’s face is all he needs, and the tears spring forth immediately, even as he says, “It’s not true, right? I remember how you played a trick on me last time just like this, you know. So get up. Teacher.”
He asks pleadingly, but reality is slowly setting in. Slowly, Jung-hoo sinks to the ground in a crouch.
Detective Yoon leads Moon-ho down to the morgue, and along the way they encounter the unconscious orderly in the hallway. While the detective calls for help, Moon-ho hurries forward to the morgue ahead of him—but when he arrives, the exam room is empty.
Moon-ho moves to draw the sheet over Teacher’s head, but pauses—this must be the first time in over a decade that he’s seen his hyung’s face. He wells up with tears.
When the detective asks how he knows Teacher, Moon-ho replies that this man was like family to him. Tears dripping down his face, Moon-ho leans over the body and promises, “Hyung, I’ll take care of this now.”
His reaction to the supposed Healer’s death naturally makes the detective wonder, and I’m hoping this doesn’t signal complications for Moon-ho… even though it totally will, right? Detective Yoon calls for reinforcements to beef up his investigation, and anticipates that they’ll have “guests” dropping in to get Teacher’s statement. They’ll have to set a trap.
As Jung-hoo drives off, he thinks back to earlier days with Teacher, such as the time he’d proudly presented Jung-hoo with home-cooked birthday soup (which did not go well). Then there was the time Jung-hoo had presented Teacher with his high school equivalency certificate and “won” a promised briefcase from the Teacher (which was full of porn, HA).
A car overtakes him on the road, then screeches to a halt in front of him, forcing Jung-hoo to stop. Jung-hoo tries to drive around it, but Moon-ho literally puts himself in front of the car, then grabs to hold Jung-hoo back while explaining that a woman called to tell him he’d be coming this way. And that he’d be out to kill.
Moon-ho blocks his path with his body and pleads, “Don’t do it! Don’t! You’d become a murderer because of bastards like that? Why?!” Moon-ho continues to try to stop Jung-hoo, who keeps knocking him aside, not giving up even after receiving several hard blows. Jung-hoo isn’t so far gone that he’ll seriously hurt Moon-ho, though, and stops himself from delivering a severe punch. Moon-ho gasps out that his teacher wouldn’t have wanted him to do this.
Jung-hoo asks in frustration what he has to do, and Moon-ho’s promise to figure something out isn’t good enough—he needs something now. He bursts out that he’s like this because there’s nothing he can do, so he demands that Moon-ho tell him something.
Moon-ho yells back that he’s felt this way for the past twenty years, fighting the frustration of being unable to do anything. Oof, you know, that is a very good point.
“So just give me a little time,” Moon-ho asks. “I’ll find a way.”
But now Jung-hoo turns the blame inward: “I called Teacher here. He didn’t want to come, but I called him. I made him talk about things he didn’t want to talk about, and got angry when he did. And because I was angry, even though he was here for the first time in eight years, we didn’t eat a single meal together. But that damned old man…”
Jung-hoo’s really struggling, and Moon-ho tells him to go ahead and cry. Instead, Jung-hoo bellows his frustration, then gets back in his car. Moon-ho blocks his car door and swears to take down every single evildoer and make them pay for their crimes, asking Jung-hoo to trust him.
Jung-hoo asks, “How? Aside from stopping me, what can you do?” Moon-ho doesn’t have an answer, and he finally steps back. Jung-hoo drives off.
Moon-shik receives reporters at home for an interview, now that he’s a mayoral candidate, and Myung-hee keeps up appearances as the loving wife in front of the cameras. But her face is stony when she listens to Moon-shik giving his interview, as he laughs how it’s both his strength and weakness that he’s exactly the same on the inside and outside: “I can’t hide a thing!”
Young-shin is puzzled when she can’t get a hold of Bong-soo. The boys were at her place all night working, and he supposedly only stepped out to go running, but never returned. Reporter Yeo points out that Bong-soo has a habit of running away in fear at nighttime or at dawn, and speculates that he must’ve seen something that scared him off… insinuating that Young-shin spooked him with her behavior, ha.
He and Editor Jang look at her expectantly for an explanation of what she did to run him off, but she doesn’t have to give one since Moon-ho arrives to explain Bong-soo being absent today.
Young-shin proposes to Moon-ho that they interview Moon-shik, saying that she’d like to tell him directly that they find his past shady so they can get his response to it. The problem is that he might decline a request for interview, so she asks Moon-ho to pull some strings, since he’s his brother.
“From today, he isn’t,” Moon-ho replies, startling her. “I’ve decided that Kim Moon-shik and I are not brothers. Not anymore.”
Despite the surprise, Young-shin doesn’t ask questions, saying merely that she’ll try getting the interview on her own. She admits to a particular interest in the wife, having read about how amazingly close the spouses’ relationship is. She allows that Moon-ho knows his brother and must have good reason to consider him unfit for office—but perhaps a man who is so devoted toward one woman all his life isn’t all bad. At the very least, she’d like to meet the wife and draw her own conclusions. Moon-ho agrees to think about it, which she takes as a positive sign.
She asks if he talked to Bong-soo, and he just says that he must be out with a cold. Young-shin starts texting Bong-soo, but deletes each attempt. First she asks “Bong-soo-ya” if he’s sick, and then she asks more formally, “What is your name?” Finally she sets the phone aside, not texting after all.
At her desk, Min-ja sets a shot of soju before a photograph of Teacher and asks him to wish her luck—she’s about to resurrect some long-dormant superpowers. Then she gets to business, unleashing her full hacker skills on her keyboard, which soon goes detected by the police department. Detective Yoon races to his terminal to get in on the action, recognizing the hacking pattern, a look of gleeful anticipation on his face as he counters.
Flashback: Min-ja is the lead cop on a stakeout, with a young Detective Yoon weathering the brunt of her rebukes as she outlines the importance of the case they’re working on. They have to wait for a warrant to be issued before charging in, but until then they have to make sure their targets don’t catch wind and delete their computer files.
While they’re waiting, Min-ja takes a call with her irate husband, who screams, “You call yourself a mother?!” It’s because she won’t leave the stakeout, although Detective Yoon overhears and urges her to go, because her four-year-old is in the hospital after yet another surgery. Just then the warrant is issued, and Min-ja orders her team into action, choosing work again.
In the present, Detective Yoon springs the trap. But Min-ja outmaneuvers him, freezing the system while she downloads the files she needs.
This hack brings back more painful memories, and the next flashback shows her husband accusing her of not being a mother, because she wasn’t there when her child died. Making things even worse, her police boss issues orders from above to cover up the case and delete those hard-earned files after all.
Well, it’s no wonder she quit the force after that. Ajumma raises a sardonic toast to Teacher and drinks.
She hacks into the Healer pad to tell Jung-hoo that she got Teacher’s recorded statement, which sounds to her like a message meant for Jung-hoo. Jung-hoo watches Teacher’s video, where Teacher says that he never gave too much thought to the jobs he took on, but ought to have. If he had, those thoughts could’ve been his signboard, directing him where to go when he felt lost, warning him of cliffs or construction ahead, or to turn around.
When asked whether he murdered Go Sung-chul on commission, Teacher replies that he doesn’t accept those jobs:
Teacher: “If a person kills another person, they become inhuman. You should die a person. That way, you can reunite with those people you want to see again, those who left before you. There’s one thing I regret: I should have quit from the start.”
That’s when Teacher turns away from the detective and faces the camera instead: “Give it up. Go live with the woman you love, raising two kids, a dog, two cats, a few goldfish. I should have.”
Shaken and confused, Jung-hoo can only ask in a small lost voice, “Why?”
Ajumma advises Jung-hoo to honor Teacher’s dying wishes, and offers to make him a new identity, or to solidify Bong-soo’s. But Jung-hoo says heavily, “It’s too late. She already knows everything. Who I am.”
Then he corrects himself: “No, not everything. She doesn’t know that being with me will bring her pain. That it might even kill her.” He ignores ajumma’s barrage of questions, saying that there’s nothing he can do but sleep.
So he sets out unplugging all his computers, pulls the battery out of his phone, removes his watch and ring, and heads for bed. Checking out of life for the time being.
Moon-ho drops by the ABS station, and although his former boss Min-jae is still peeved at him for the press conference stunt, she agrees to a chat. Moon-ho apologizes for putting her in a bad position, then explains how a close hyung recently died, and that he thinks he knows who killed him. Then there’s another guy who used to be close to him in childhood, who has been out of touch for three days.
Min-jae’s understandably frosty with him and tells him impatiently to get to the point. Moon-ho’s answer is a bit surprising—that she is the only name saved in his phone as a friend, and today he’s here to talk to a friend. “Because I have nobody to talk to.”
Min-jae notes that despite Moon-ho’s image as a fearless figure, she knows he’s actually the opposite: “You only ever fight when you won’t get hurt. You run away when you meet someone frightening, using an appropriate excuse.” She tells him it’s nothing to be ashamed of, however, “Since we’re all like that.”
Young-shin and Jong-soo get busy working on the Moon-shik story, and in between interviews she tries to track down Bong-soo at home using his resumé address, which turns out to be nonexistent. She sends him messages chiding him for skipping work when they’re short-staffed, her voicemails going from concerned to stern to threatening, warning that he’s missed his forgiveness window.
But by the fifth day, her voice is scared as she sits in the dark, asking, “Did I… do something wrong? Is it because I said I would wait that you can’t come? Should I have said I wouldn’t wait… that you shouldn’t worry? Should I cancel what I said?”
ABS schedules a talk with Moon-shik as a live broadcast, and Moon-ho decides to use that as Someday’s next broadcast. As soon as Moon-shik answers a question on air, within the next ten minutes, Someday will counter that answer.
Of course, that requires them to know what questions will be asked. But Moon-ho knows his brother will only answer questions that have been prepped in advance, and turns to his spy, asking if he’d like to be a double agent. Jong-soo would NOT, thank you very much, but really, there’s no refusing. He nervously agrees.
Moon-ho finds Young-shin still huddled in the dark, and she jumps up guiltily. He asks for her phone, and she assumes she’s in trouble and promises not to make any more personal calls on the job, only to have him punch in a number—it’s Myung-hee’s. He gives permission to use his name in asking for an interview, and Young-shin excitedly hurries off to make the call.
At home, Myung-hee heads into her husband’s empty office and tries opening his desk drawers. They’re locked shut, to her disappointment—but she catches a glimpse of something mounted to the underside of the desk. A button.
She presses it, and bookshelves slide open to reveal the secret space behind it, where the hidden TV screens are mounted. That’s when she gets Young-shin’s call, and more surprising than her request is the news that Moon-ho is her boss at Someday—all this while, she thought he was still at the broadcast station. Wow, she has really been kept cut off from the world.
Myung-hee’s also surprised that Moon-ho would have given her number to a reporter, as he knows that she doesn’t meet people. But she likes the sound of Young-shin’s voice and asks for time to consider, and Young-shin thanks her enthusiastically.
Min-ja sends Dae-yong on the rounds to track down all of Jung-hoo’s vehicles, trying to pinpoint his whereabouts. But everything looks untouched, and Min-ja deduces that this means Jung-hoo isn’t moving at all, which suggests he’s holed himself up at home. Dae-yong offers to go in person, but Min-ja says that even if she showed up there, she couldn’t get inside without Jung-hoo’s permission.
Next thing you know, ajumma charges into the Chae family cafe (yesssssssss) like she owns the place, ordering ajusshi to open half an hour early and demanding a female server. Haha. I love how she doesn’t explain a thing, and just lets them think she’s a weirdo.
Min-ja imperiously motions Young-shin aside to take her order, and Young-shin complies, despite her bafflement. Once Young-shin sits down, ajumma asks if she recognizes her voice, and repeats her words from her previous call to jog her memory.
Young-shin gasps upon recognition, suddenly alert and pelting her with questions. She says that Bong-soo’s been unreachable for days, her worry obvious.
Ajumma asks for her phone and links it to a device, fiddling with it as she tells her that Bong-soo’s been immobile for six days, probably not eating. She’s certain he won’t let her in, which leaves one option: to force him to open the door himself.
Understanding what she’s getting at, Young-shin asks tearfully, “Is he… okay? Is he not okay?” (I notice she’s now calling him “that person”—her way of referring to the Healer—instead of Bong-soo.) She grabs ajumma’s hand and begs her to tell her where to find him.
Ajumma notes Young-shin’s vehement reaction and replies, “I had to see your eyes.” Then she hands her back the phone, all the information there at her fingertips.
Young-shin follows the directions to Jung-hoo’s building, her lock-picking skills coming in handy in getting past the first locked door. She heads up the elevator, through the dilapidated warehouse floor, up some crumbling stairs, and to a seeming dead end. There’s nowhere to go from here, but the signal on her phone indicates that this is where she should be.
So Young-shin starts tapping on the walls and calling out for Bong-soo. Getting no response, she pulls out her tools and finds a stethoscope, using it to listen through the wall… and then she hears something click. A sign dangling on the opposite wall moves, and when she moves it again, the wall springs open.
Cautiously, she steps inside the inner lair—and there he is, in bed, looking half-dead.
Young-shin races to his side, and as she reaches to call for an ambulance, Jung-hoo’s eyes slowly open. She tells him gently, “Bong-soo-ya, I’m here.”
He sighs, “Daebak.” Which, all things considered, is hilarious. He reaches his hand out to touch her face, wondering at this dream. He murmurs that he’s cold, and at that she climbs in bed with him and cradles his head in her arms. It’s incredibly sweet. And as she holds him close, he snuggles into her side.
Some time later, he wakes up, alone in bed. Young-shin comes up holding a ladle (and are those his clothes she’s wearing?), holding it out for him to taste.
He struggles to get up, not at all happy to see her. She disregards his displeasure and informs him that she’s put in a personal day at work and intends to stay till tomorrow, and that he’ll eat her cooking whether he likes it or not.
He tells her wearily that this is no place for her, and that she should leave: “Forget this place, and don’t come back.”
His demeanor is cold and uninviting, and Young-shin looks at him intently and asks if this is the real him. Bong-soo didn’t talk like that, “But you’re a little scary.” She informs him that it’s dark and late, so she’ll leave tomorrow if he wants.
Ignoring his surliness, Young-shin sets him up comfortably and presents him with dinner. His mood darkens further as he grabs Young-shin’s things, thrusting them at her and pushing her toward the exit.
She whirls out of reach, refusing to leave, and he’s frankly too weak to do much else. Staggering closer, he asks in exasperation, “Why do you have so little fear?”
She replies, “I’m not afraid of you.” He points out that he’s hiding more from her than she could even guess, and she answers, “I don’t care.” He fires back, “Are you an idiot?”
“Don’t send me away,” she says. “If you send me away, you’ll cry forever.”
He says bleakly, “I could get you hurt.” She shakes her head, full of certainty: “No, you won’t get me hurt. Never.”
He struggles with himself, then grabs her wrist to drag her out. But she stops him, turning him toward her and pulling him into a hug. “Don’t send me away,” she asks again.
Jung-hoo’s face crumples in tears, and then he buries his face in her neck and grabs tight.
She holds him like that for a long moment, and then pulls back to wipe his tears from his face. She kisses him.
COMMENTS
So many things to write about, and they’re not even about that kiss! (Although, eeee, that kiss!)
I was really happy with where this episode took Moon-ho—even as far as yesterday I wasn’t sure what direction he would ultimately take, but today solidified his place standing alongside the Healer. I know he’d declared his intention to work together in the last episode, but it took seeing his old hyung cold and dead on that slab to finally cut the cord, and to realize that his brother had in fact crossed the line fully, that he couldn’t spare him from justice. I don’t think he was necessarily waiting for his brother to redeem himself, but he had enough hope that he wasn’t so far gone.
So now that he knows Moon-shik would (and has) killed, he’s finally ready to take the stand he’s been waffling on taking for the past twenty years. Moon-ho really is the linchpin in this entire story, because even now he possesses more information than anybody else, and it isn’t until he makes the decision that our mother-daughter reunion can start on its path. I suppose if he had had his brother’s ambition his kind of masterminding might be an ominous thing, but as Min-jae rightly points out, Moon-ho is actually rather timid. Good-intentioned, but lacking the courage to fight the big fight.
I guess that’s why he needs Healer and Young-shin on his team to see through the final takedown of the Elder. And while it sucks to have Jung-hoo so shaken by the loss of Teacher, it’s the perfect narrative catalyst to bring them together—because till now, they’ve shared the general stance of being anti-Moon-shik, but differed in their personal motivations. Jung-hoo doesn’t care about the Elder beyond what he does to people he loves, so he isn’t swayed by Moon-ho’s appeals for greater justice. Now, though, Teacher’s death provides a link, and I’m excited to see how these two work together from here on out. One brotherly bond may be severed, but who says another one can’t be formed? (As for the baddies, we’re still unclear on what exactly the Elder does, but based on what we know thus far, I’m imagining a shadow society of elites who manipulate all aspects of society to benefit themselves—I’m thinking Kishokai of Gaksital, for instance.)
I loved how the show depicted Jung-hoo’s reaction to losing Teacher, which felt real and raw, and bolstered by acting that totally made me cry along with the characters. There was an immediacy to Jung-hoo’s grief that I found powerful, and am so happy to see Ji Chang-wook become this character so wholly.
More than the kiss itself (although again, eeee!), I was moved by Jung-hoo’s reaction to Young-shin’s stubborn insistence on staying with him—the anger, confusion, fear, and eventual acceptance. Most of the time, noble idiocy in dramaland arises when a character pushes someone away “for their own good” in a situation where that angst is unnecessary, hence the idiocy part of the term. But it’s not noble idiocy when the reasons are credible, and it makes perfect sense that Jung-hoo’s reaction to losing one of the last loved ones in his life is to shut down entirely, especially when he blames himself for that death.
The heartbreaking thing is that the Teacher did totally die for him, indirectly; I don’t think he knew he was going to die, but you get the sense that Teacher would willingly do it again and feel it was worth the cost. He wasn’t able to protect the baby bears through the end of their lives, but he made good on his promise by protecting them through the end of his. But to Jung-hoo, all he sees is that people around him die, and that’s devastating in a twofold way: first, he costs good people their lives, and second, he then has to live in a world where they’re dead.
So he’s become deathly afraid of building any sort of meaningful relationship, because every time it burns him, it cuts deeper and deeper. Yet in comes charging this girl who refuses to let him bully her away, informing him that she will stay put, and refusing to accept his fear of hurting her. Moreover, she isn’t about to let him sink into self-ruin, and insists on taking care of him. Young-shin is totally badass in all the best ways, and she just keeps getting better.
I love how he sees her next to his bed and sighs that it must be a dream, and only in his half-conscious state does he allow her to come close. Despite the fact that they totally got to snuggle in bed together, I appreciate that the scene wasn’t sexy in the least, but more poignantly sweet, letting our damaged hero find some comfort while his guard is lowered. When he’s fully awake, you can see how much he wishes he could believe her while his head warns him not to… but thankfully for all of us, there’s only so much denial you can handle before you cave and have to accept it already. (Accept the truth, kisses and all!) Somehow it feels fitting that he gets to be with his girl against the backdrop of his imagined paradise, ’cause I think he’s doing just fine where he is in his reality, once he finally allows himself his honesty.

LOL, does anyone else find it ridiculous that Jung-hoo has this huge photo-mural of a balmy, island paradise on his wall...and then his lair is practically sub-zero degrees?
Like, dude. I understand it's your dream destination, but when it's everything your reality isn't why would you want to look at it everyday LOL. He needs to invest in more heating appliances!

I have this ongoing fantasy of YS domesticating JH somehow, and even going so far as to put her own quirky touches in his apartment. Like maybe some multicolored throw pillows to brighten up the space. Or colorful potted plants. Something like that.

I love JCW!!!!! Aeeeeeeiiiiiii! Actually, i was reminded of how those badass elites in Golden Cross and Gaksital manipulate the lives of ordinary people for their own good. This kind of drama gives me goosebumps and wonders if there are people like them. Could be... i hope not that bad.... anywys, i will miss Healer the moment its finished here in the Philippines...

I'm wondering if the case that Ahjumma was working on when her son died has anything to do with the Elder? Or whatever that happened in 1992? Isn't that how she met Teacher? She was the one who visited him a number of times when he was in prison, wasn't it? Perhaps the reason why she was even working with him in the first place was because she wasn't able or rather allowed to get answers as a detective, so she wanted to get answers.

@ justanotherleo
This is an idea worth exploring in that the case she was working on and the reason Young Jae ended up in prison could have been linked. So far between them, there has been no mention of Elder, however he could have been in the background manipulating events.
The timing is right and the case as a link between them can explain how they ended up working together and trusting each other so much. However we see that Min Ja is able to hack into Moon Shik's computers at will. If she is able to do so much hacking to get information (as she also did to the cyber police to get the interrogation video of Young Jae), she could have gotten lots of info by now to indict Elder and Moon Shik. But that has not happened.
Now I want another back story, this time on Min Ja and Young Jae and how they came to be a team, and what their Healer Team was set up to accomplish. Was it just a courier service or more?

Good point! I think it's when her superior made her drop the case she had decided to quit police work. That may have lead her to become close to Teacher.

That is an interesting back story that I hope to see in forthcoming episodes. It is also likely that that case Minja and Det Yoon were working on is the same one that Jung-Hoo's and Young Shin's dad were pursuing, which was related to Elder's illegal dealings.
Am not sure about Teacher's role, if any, in the case Minja was investigating. As far as the timeline goes, Teacher was imprisoned before the fateful "accident". We have not been told what Teacher did after graduating from College, so I wonder in what capacity would he be involved in such a case or cases. What we do know was he was a political prisoner (that's what Ahjumma called him). So I infer that he was arrested for being a member of the original Healer's (group of 5) underground anti-government activities. We know that he was tortured but did not rat on his friends. His actions were in direct contrast to those of Moon-Shik's.

I wrote an earlier post that said the case was the Teacher's; that's why she became disillusioned with police work, that's why she visited him in prison 5 times, and that's why they have such a deep and long connection.
He's also practically the only 'friend' she had.
Now that he's dead, she'll also step up her involvement to get the bastards!

OK this one is for the GUYS ... yes I mean people of the male persuasion, men, boys, gentelmen...
Poll: I WOULD LIKE WHAT YOUNG SHIN DID FOR JUNG HOO TO BE DONE FOR ME
I know you are here, people, you who are reading these comments and who are not female, but who may have held your peace. What is your take on this?
As an individual or in line with your society, would you like the girl (crush, girlfriend, wife, significant other) to take the initiative the way Young Shin did? If yes / no ... why?
I thought after all the spazzing you've read from the girls, it is only fair that we listen to you and get your point of view. So let's hear it from the guys!!! :)

ha, Gb, you're query is culturally loaded. I'm not male, but this is my take on your question. Gender roles differ in societies and females taking the initiative may not be a big deal in some, while it is in others. Where you are coming from, I can detect highly differentiated roles for women. I hypothesize that one reason the international fans are attracted to Healer because the lead female is not typical of what we've seen in kdramas. No shrinking violet this one; and Healer has mentioned that that is what attracted her to him -- not that she has no fear, but she overcomes her fear to do right.

*the lead female is not typical*
Yes, precisely and this is so refreshing, but does it work in our personal lives to be as refreshing as YS? I guess that is part of the question I'm asking.
We think the world of her and what she is doing, but given the same situation in our real life, dare we, should we, could we????
For the record, my husband, a real dear, is perfectly happy with both the push-pull between us. IE sometimes he takes the initiative and sometimes I do and it works our well. This of course comes with enough of the right kind of communication. Don't shock spouse too much without any warning, you know! :D

Ah, Gb. Being in a married situation is different, no? here where i live now, women have no qualms about taking the lead in relationships. Although i find that they are liberated in some aspects and not in others. Like for example, in the labour force - there are few women in corporate boards. *the lead female is not typical in kdramas' the last two words would be operative. Most dramas 'reflect' what is the practice; rather than 'reflect' refreshing changes that would be for the better. I like YS take on BSookie getting 'order' right. She did not really have to say it, but she did and that is what i appreciate about Asian culture. I also read somewhere that SIG, the lead in Jumong, still uses the deferential tone (i mean the formal language common in korean society) with his wife in their regular day to day communication. I guess they should given that wife is judge. Though they shouldn't really. Yea, communication is key.

There seems to be 2 questions here (?)
In regards to whether I would like what YS did for JH... the answer is yes.
JH was hurt to the point where he withdrew from the world. He wasn't going to ask for help, so it was up to YS to come and provide it to him, and bring him back to the world of living. Certainly, if I were in his position (heaven forbid), I'd want my wife to do the same for me, haha...
As for the question about "taking the initiative" - I assume you're referring to their kiss / relationship?
Personally, I see no reason why a girl shouldn't be the one initiating; this is probably because I'm fairly westernized, so I don't see this as an issue at all. However, I can understand why this might be a big deal in some other cultures.
Anyway, thought I'd better put my 2 cents in here, just to prove that not everyone here is female.

@ sungsta (and merry although you're a girl!(
I'm so glad to hear from you!!! Really, really glad! I was wondering if we were spazzing so hard, that the men did not want to join in at all and give their own feels and take on things.
Thanks for your responses to the 2 questions. Yes I knew, they were culturally loaded as merry says. While it's all well and good that we go on, and on about how great YS is, I was wondering how it might be in real life in different cultures. Would the female be applauded or criticized for taking the initiative in a relationship ie question 2. I guess although some men may like that the girl steps up, they are in fact, not able to approve it openly because of societal censure. :(

Ajumma's story is so tragic. She couldn't stay with her son when he died, and the reason why she couldn't, was canceled by her superiors. So her efforts were in vain. It's no wonder she quit the force and is now working for money. It explains why she 'adopted' Jung ho as a pseudo son, but I wonder what happened to her marriage? Did it go kaput as well?

I'm still doubting if Moon Shik had any thing to do with Youn jae's death. I am hoping that the secretary acted alone under the Elder's orders. If Moon shik was responsible, it would make him sub human, if he didn't issue the order to kill his friend, then he should find a way to cut ties with the Elder, who went back on his word. I'm hoping the secretary acted alone though, I want Moon shik to be a good guy, though he clearly isn't.

I'm surprisingly hesitant about moon shik pulling the strings on his buddy. I cant quite figure out what he has or has not done because some things are implied but some aren't. Just like how he was introduced to the elder. I assumed he was after the accident and that's when things started for him but what other solid concrete is there to say he killed his friend and did all the other bad things. I'm surprised I have sympathy for his character.

January 22, 2015 at 7:19 AM
@ Alienkay
About having sympathy and "what other solid concrete is there to say he killed his friend and did all the other bad things" - true...
To be fair, there was no proper reveal to us about Moon Shik's part in the death of his friends. We heard them say he would be their driver the day before Gil Han died. We know of an accident and we assume it is a car accident. But do we know if someone died in that accident or was there another incident in which Gil Han was killed?
The latter sounds more likely because Joon Seok is alleged to have been Gil Han's killer, but his alleged suicide conveniently ended any investigation.
So there is no link to MS (maybe this protection of MS was engineered by Elder), yet Young Jae accused Moon Shik of killing his friends, and MS did not actually protest strongly, he only said he wanted to tell his side of the story. Unfortunately YJ wouldn't listen and so we never got to hear it.
Why MS should accept the accusation of being Gil Han's murderer when Joon Seok was framed, is 1 question.
If MS was the driver in the accident that killed Gil Han, he might have felt at fault anyway, even if it was beyond his control.
However, that accident might have been a premeditated attempt to stop the reporters from divulging info on the slush funds, in which case, if MS knew somehow that it was murder and decided to close his eyes, he is culpable after the fact only and not the cause of the death(s).
As for YJ's death, we have 3 scenes which we either choose to take as possible evidence that he decided to murder YJ or as 3 unrelated scenes. 1) YJ in Ep 13 challenges MS and taunts him with the 3 bears' song 2) MS is barely holding in his anger/frustration (whether over both YJ and Myung Hee or just one of them?) and slides the glass off the counter 3) Sec Oh gets Yoon's lackey to poison YJ's food.
So we are not given the connecting clues as yet to know how to judge for sure.
Somehow, however, Moon Ho seems certain that his brother is has gone over. Maybe he has info that we don't. So sympathy or not, it's the case that we cannot say with certainty that MS committed 1 or 2 or 3 or more murders.

True, until now, Moon Shik has shown some signs of conscience - like with the elevator incident - he was extremely upset that Sec Oh tried to kill Ji Ahn. MS also told the Elder to his face that he "would take care of his own problems."
But when Moon Shik referred to his old friend Teacher as some pest of society in Ep 13, and himself as a pillar of society, it really showed the depth of his delusion and dehumanisation. How could he say that to his old friend!? And although he may have 'accidentally' lost Ji Ahn, he could have looked for her any time these past 20 years - but actively chose not to.
I no longer think it makes much difference whether MS directly ordered Teacher to be poisoned, or whether he 'let' it happen - if it's the latter, he knows the ways of the Elder/Sec Oh well enough that it's the same as agreeing with it.
Either way, he's complicit morally - up-to-his-neck-in-it complicit. Even when he knew what it would cost those around him (like Myung Hee losing a daughter), he didn't try to protect them - he just stepped back and let the forces of evil win. Both Teacher and Moon Ho called Moon Shik a murderer, and I think this is what they meant.
It goes back to that saying: "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Moon Shik knew what would happen and if he was a good man, he would stop it or tell someone about it ... but he did nothing: ergo, he's not a good man!

@ Thursdaynexxt
I agree that he is complicit in the not doing anything to stop or preempt what he might have guessed would happen and definitely is totally deluded if he thinks he is good and a guardian of society. Yet, I am sad.
Somehow despite MS, Moon Ho managed to have greater moral fibre. A testament to his ability to think for himself and to observe objectively, but still without being able to take the necessary action to prevent his brother's fall.
thursdaynexxt
January 23, 2015 at 7:33 AM
@GB: yes, I'm sad for the many lost chances that Moon Shik had to redeem himself.
I'm also sad that so many people have suffered because of Moon Shik's 'not doing anything wrong' policy. The original band of Healer friends (I was going to say Band of Brothers) is now decimated, all because of one man. When I think of what Myung Hee, Moon Ho, Jung Hoo and Young Shin (and Young Jae!) have missed out on all these years ... Grrrr!!
I loved that scene when Moon Ho shouted that it's been hard holding it in for 20 years - really felt the sincerity of that moment, and I think it was the only thing that touched Jung Hoo in that state of impassioned grief and held him back from doing something crazy.
I hope we get more insights into Moon Ho's journey to become the man he is now, having lived his whole life in the shadow of the memory of the Healer family, the tragic accident and a broken Myung Hee ...

The scene with the shattered glass of water is quite telling though.
Up till now, MS had always been teetering on the edge; only now does he finally decide to take the plunge into the abyss of evil.
You could see the gears in his brain turning as he deliberately pushes the glass to the edge, pauses to think about what is at stake (his relationship with his wife), then seems to comes to a decision, and sends the glass crashing down.
Next thing we know - Teach is poisoned. The most obvious decision he could have made is the one to go all or nothing.

Sub-Thread: Real Life OTP Moments
So, my fellow Healer Spazz Sisters, if you could come down from the clouds of heaven you're floating on, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
Pick ONE OTP moment, or just one thing about this OTP you'd like to happen to you in real life.
For me- Jung Hoo's gentleness to his mother and girl. He's so kind, that heart is so huge and warm, seriously. When he loves someone, he really treats them well, and especially his girl. I just can't get enough of that scene where she pretends her hand his hurting, and he lets go. The concern for her well-being, he really would never do anything to hurt her. I've personally had many of the experiences shown in Healer - as far as romance goes. I'm around air show pilots all the time and I've learned that sometimes the most macho men are also the most gentle. My dad was like that. So I've always been around men with the tough, dark side who are total sweethearts. I've also been rescued by the man I married. What I have NOT had in my life is someone as drop dead gorgeous as JWC, where just sitting and looking at him creates all the feels. One of my very favorite moments in healer is when YS knows he is Healer and walks back into the hospital room, her eyes all luminous and her heart written all over her face and she sees him for the first time. My heart fell out of my chest at that moment of pure love. Then, when he stands up and looks at her. WOW. (By the way @skyofblue, check back to comment 247.1.1 to see my response to you). And girl, did you pull an all-nighter to study????

The macho men are the most gentle? Really? I don't have too much experience around guys, so I didn't know that. Although, boys my age don't really make me want anything either, lol. So I am left to gazing at all these oppas. Not that I'm complaining of course. Although I'd say kdrama has definitely ruined my expectations, for life probably.
Ugh, JH, the way he just looks at her is so filled with love, so much love and adoration and longing. I thank whoever decided to cast JCW. I don't know who else could've pulled off that acting.
And yeah, I had to pull another all-nighter yesterday. Been doing so for over a week now, I think, cause of schoolwork, and the last two days have been rough in terms of school and sleep. Quite honestly, I don't know how I'm functioning right now.

If you've gone to Drama Wiki, you would have seen that each episode has a subtitle. What do you think? Do these subtitles really reflect the theme of the episodes?
Ep 1: I have a dream
Ep 2: Fate continues
Ep 3: The first kiss that day
Ep 4: Because I'm next to you
Ep 5: Meaning of you
Ep 6: Begin
Ep 7: We, under the sunset
Ep 8: Cannot be forgotten
Ep 9: I trust you
Ep 10: Can't it be me?
Ep 11: In the darkness
Ep 12: I don't know how to escape
Ep 13: I'm waiting
Ep 14: It's alright even if you cry
Lovely, aren't they? Which scenes do these subtitles remind you of?

Spot on @fantasy. I loved the interpretation and agree. I just wanted to add that for Ep 2, it is also the fact that he found his picture in CYS's room and realized there was a deeper connection and fate with CYS than he expected (I believe that was episode two).

Yes in the end of Ep 2 he finds his pic on her wall. Earlier, he clipped her nail and was given another commission to tail her 24/7. They end up sharing a lift to find Yun Hee who had gone to the rooftop to commit suicide. He recorded her conversation with Yun Hee. So it might have been Fate that they met in the lift, or that she was there at the right time to stop Yun Hee from jumping.
Moon Ho was sent the recording and heard YS describe how she suffered so Moon Ho wanted Header to find out YS's dreams/goals, therefore, he become PBS to find out. So all these could be part of that "Fate" too. :)

In addition to everything else that has already been written:
Ep 1 (I have a dream). The 3 main characters may have started with their own individual dreams/goals (reaching moro moro island, finding mum, and finding the girl); but it all ends up being one dream - to resolve what happened to them in the past.
Ep 6 (Begin). In addition to the beginning of the JH & YS relationship, also the beginning of MH's fight against MS by joining someday news.
Ep 7 (We under the sunset). 3 very different feeling sunsets; A) the sad and poignant sunset with the 5 friends, heralding the beginning of their end; B) the romantic sunset with YS & JH, with their relationship poised to rise the next day; C) the "passing of an era" sunset wth Teach & Minja, where the responsibility for truth seeking is passed to the new generation
Ep 12 (I don't know how to escape). JH can no longer escape from his father's past - he is now more vested than ever to prove his father's innocence, for the sake of YS; Myung hee can't escape from her past and from her husband's deceptions; and YS can't escape from JH's hug, haha!

Just watched episodes 13-14 back to back (stupid real life = delay!!) ;). Just like everyone else I have a lot of thoughts and feelings on these!
Young Shin might be one of my favorite kdrama ladies, up there with Dal Ja. How refreshing to have a realistic girl who's not some simpering idiot who can easily be pushed away. Love her.
Yay for more Moon Ho time! I'm excited to see him come back into the spotlight, and moving firmly into Healer's camp against his brother. I reeeeeeeally want to see a Scooby gang with Jung Hoo, Young Shin, Moon Ho, and Ahjumma. Maybe throw in Detective Yoon once he gets his head out of his rear, and Myung Hee once she gets her spirit back.
I really don't want Moon Shik to be evil. He's definitely been corrupted, but I want to believe there will be some redemption somewhere. I'm afraid Myung Hee pulling away will push him over the edge though.
Finally - JH and YS are officially one of my favorite couples ever. Their chemistry is awesome, and their moments are sooo sweet and heartfelt, rather than just being swoony and typical.
All in all, I do love this show! It's definitely not 100% perfect but the actors and the pacing are really making it.
Thanks for the vent opportunity - my husband really doesn't get it haha

Jipsy lol about the husband, same as mine, they won't ever get it though lol. But I really agree with your points about the teaming up of moonho, jung hoo, young shin, and ahjumma.
I disagree however about the redemption aspect, as I truly believe that he was behind the teacher's death. If that is confirmed, I would hate for the writers to try to redeem his character by blaming external problems and pressures from the social ladder. Once you commit a crime, punishment should be your reward towards redemption.

Jipsy
January 22, 2015 at 12:35 PM
Totally agree on Moon Shik - if he's behind the Teacher's murder, no redemption! I meant more like doing something good for the characters because of guilt at some point, because he's clearly done some shady things. No matter what his hands are dirty (ditching a 5 year old at minimum!)
I keep waffling on whether or not I think he is, although it seems pretty likely at this point. Seems like he possibly started on the road for Myung Hee, then went further down into corruption.

Jipsy totally agree. In the beginning I thought he didn't really do anything wrong, but the more his character unfolds the more you see his multi dimensional faces, the more you see that he himself is corrupt not only those around him. Can't wait to see how the story unfold :)

I have no idea how I feel about Detective Yoon....it's like they want him to be smart when it's wrong (linking Healer to the two killings) and he's not smart when it's a good thing (believing Teacher's confession, hopefully it stays that way). LOL. If he turns around and becomes of use to help catch the bigger corporate bad guys then yay, I root for him. But so far, I don't like him.
And what about the SS goons? Sang Soo literally was in the presence of Healer, has a conversation with him, was handcuffed by him and didn't say anything about Healer looking and talking differently? Or did he not know that the person they caught was Healer? That didn't add up to me but if they keep that up and don't find out JH is Healer then I'm fine hehe.
Required fields are marked *
growingbeautifully
January 23, 2015 at 12:53 AM
@ Alien
Yes, that could be a bit of a plot hole. Sang Soon should have enough of a brain and memory to figure that Teacher is not the Healer that he spoke to. I kind of expect him to think it out slowly and come to the conclusion that there is another person being hidden. It will add to the tension for the remaining few episodes. ;)
I am afraid that even Teacher's death, may not succeed in taking attention away from JH/PBS, or not for long. In fact investigation into Teacher's life, because of the way he died, may elicit information that proves that he was not the Healer of recent times. I'm not sure that Ahjumma can work so much magic to cover all areas of Young Jae's life. :)

@GB and Alien Actually the SS goons and Det. Yoon are some flaws I've been kinda glossing over or suspending disbelief in this drama. Despite the spazzing, I must admit the drama isn't without its writing / characterisation flaws (and how sad that Yo Yo isn't being used better?! I loved the actor in INR2) but I love the overall story so much I'm giving these a pass.

@ Rainerust
True, the goons and Det Yoon being portrayed as rather dim or very LOL! may add to the comic factor but does a disservice to the build-up of tension from them, as another quarter that Ahjumma and JH have to overcome. We have come to under-estimate them, but maybe the rug will be pulled from under our feet, if the writer suddenly decides to give them more to do. :)
Alien
January 23, 2015 at 8:34 PM
Yes, I agree with all that has been said. But we haven't seen it to the end yet so who knows what could become of the situation! Cause the write SJN has been pretty good with filling in the plot holes a few episodes after. Who knows what will happen in the last six episodes? It doesn't seem like Teacher taking the blame for JH will add up for Detective Yoon but we shall see!

Beginning of Episode 15 :) Ideas
Option A: they continue their embrace, they cuddle and talk until the next morning, him telling her about his inner feelings and fears. Furthermore they start organizing a plan for revenge, working together with moon ho. Young shin also finds out who her mother is.
Option B: he breaks away from the kiss, because he feels that young shin should not be involved in his dangerous world. And he starts distancing himself. She leaves in anger. (I hope this doesn't happen though) she continues with her job, and he tries to find out who murdered his teacher. The whole episode our love birds are not united. :(
What are your ideas :)

January 22, 2015 at 9:28 AM
I think the embrace will go on for a bit longer. (Yay!) This writer and director have proven they treat us to continuing great scenes. Then he will be all vulnerable for a few more minutes, then become realistic and worried about her. They'll have some sort of discussion and the scene will switch to current daytime action - and we will be left wondering if they really spent the night together. The chemistry is there but I think this drama is too wonderful to imply making love yet. It will keep us wondering. I do think they will have a hard time being around each other in the daylight and keeping their hands and eyes off each other when in public - which will make it all the more delicious for us to watch that tension.
OMG - damnit - I have to go to work!! Why, real life - why???

@Turkish Rose I think A but possibly without the mother option. I'd be happy if he could just share his feelings about Teacher, cos I think that's what he really needs an outlet for. If the mother thing comes up, I'd be very surprised...but then again, this writer has been really spot on so far with her plot turns and twists, and has been pretty good about revealing secrets in a timely fashion, so am not ruling that out as a possibility.

I love this drama so much! This is definitely my favorite drama since You From Another Star.
Obviously, Ji Chang Wook is showing the depth of his acting and we are all impressed. I sure am.
But the more surprising thing for me was actually Park Min Young. I've watched other dramas with her and while I never disliked her, she wasn't particularly on top of my list of favorite actresses. (I also had a tinge of jealousy when it was announced that she was dating Lee Min Ho...because clearly, before that announcement, I totally had a chance with him. LOL). However, in this drama, she is just so likeable... and that moment when MinJa visits YoungShin... that LOOK that she had... filled with love and concern and urgency... well... it kind of won me over. I must have rewatched the episode from that point to the end a dozen times... and it gets me teary every time because her acting is convincing and the love/concern shows. Kudos to Park Min Young and also the writer for making YoungShin so dang adorable and likable.
Next time, I'm going to have to start good dramas when they are done because this wait is really tough. sigh. life's so hard.... (lol. joking. mostly. kind of.)

i adore this drama but i dont like the music in it strange... i just think this story deserves better ost and background music does anyone else feel the same thing?????? i was listening to kill me heal me ost by jang jae in now that's an ost, i think some really famous dramas got in there thanks to the music you know like a top charts piece

I agree! It's not that any of the songs are annoying or anything... and it's not like the music choices are not fitting for the scenes that they are used for... but it's true that none of the songs stick in my head.
In other dramas, there was at least a song or two that I would have on repeat whilst waiting for the next episode or even after the drama was over because it was THAT good (like Sung SiKyung's song Every Moment Of You(너의 모든 순간) from You From Another Star... or the g.o.d. members' song 하루만 (One day) from Marriage not Dating) but the OST for Healer is strangely lacking that awesome play-on-repeat type of song.
luckily, k-dramas have multiple OST CDs so hopefully they come up with some good songs in the last 6 episodes!

Oh yes!!! They're rocking it with their 2 fully English main theme songs but felt that they could've done better w/ their editing & musical scoring/BGM especially during action scenes. Excuse again the inevitable comparison but what I really loved about City Hunter before is that it has balanced bad ass scoring during action scenes while having such cute songs on sweet/dorky scenes. But setting that aside, Healer has perfect cast, perfect setting, great acting, great cinematography and they are really rocking those winter outfits<3
Now ep. 15 preview where are you?! Gah.

As much as I usually prefer having songs in Korean in kdramas, I find myself singing Eternal Love at random moments couple of times a day or so. And this song is super cheesy and I don´t even like it that much, but it´s just stuck in my head.

January 23, 2015 at 5:30 AM
^^^OMG, this is me exactly.
I feel like all the songs have certain moments I really like in them, but are ultimately thrown off by the lyrics for the verses (in Eternal Love's case) or the melody of the chorus (in the case of Tei's OST, LOVE the beginning verses of that, the rest is forgettable, though not bad).
In the end, I think "You" by Ben has ended up becoming my favorite in terms of liking it completely, even though I don't typically like this 'type' of music, the song is catchy to me and I enjoy most of it. But, in the end, this is such a good drama that I just want the OST to be as perfect. Not just solid, but GOOD.

I just wish they´d add a few more songs on the list, before I get hives from listening to Eternal Love:) It´s ok, but you know, enough is enough. Though the OST isn´t really that appealing to me, luckily the drama itself is so good that I´m ready to forgive all the shortcomings.

There has been some discussion about the extent of Moon-shik's culpability in the death of his friends. There are questions in my mind related to this.
The drama has referred to an "accident" that happened on that fateful day Seo Jung-seok and Oh Gil-han died. Earlier, I somehow assumed there was a car accident. If so, and both died, there would have been no need for the made-up scenario of JS killing GH and then committing suicide. Another scenario is that GH died but JS lived but had to be silenced.
Or, maybe, there was no car accident, and the "accident" refers to something else?
What caused Myung Hee's injuries, so serious that she became paralysed and had to go through multiple surgeries?
It seems the family was attacked in their home as can be gleaned from Moon-Ho's nightmare (with all those broken glasses and furniture lying about) and CYS's recollections (we see her hiding in the closet, then being pushed by a man who was carrying some kind of weapon).
Did the murder-suicide, Myung-hee's accident (attack) and Ji-an's disappearance happened on the same day?
Where was Moon-shik during all this time? He was supposed to drive JS and GH as they gathered data for their scoop. We saw him being brought (with some blood on him) in front of Elder who threatened/bribed him to act as witness to the murder-suicide. So maybe their car was attacked?
Not sure if am making logical deductions. So many questions, so many possible answers. This is one thing i like about Healer. It forces us to play detectives.

1. The "accident" that killed Gil-han could still be a car accident with Moon-shik saying to the police that he saw Jung-seok messing with the car.
2. Assuming Moon-ho's dream is fairly accurate. My guess is that after the accident, someone broke into Gil-han's home looking for his notes. Moon-ho was supposed to babysit but he was late, or detained. The burglar tore the place apart, finding Ji-an instead. He took Ji-an as hostage and contacted Myung-hee. She got into a serious accident trying to get to her daughter. Squirrel-like Ji-an escaped her kidnapper. (Most kids who are only lost don't hid. They wander around crying for mommy.) Ji-an hid.

@anythinggoes_1213 posts where some of the final scenes will be shot.
1. Revised - Gil-han fell to his death. Moon-shik fingered Jung-seok as the pusher/thrower. Better than a car accident because there is no guarantee who lives or dies in a car accident.

I'm watching Ep 3 again and laughing like a crazy woman. This is the part where YS goes into her room, not knowing that Healer is hiding under her bed and she starts to sing and dance. The lyrics of her song are "For just one day, I want to be the bed in your room. Oh baby. I want to hold you close to me and put you to sleep. .... I will conquer all the monsters in your dream ... " Hmm... little did she know she was singing to the very person whom she would be holding close and putting to sleep in 11 more episodes! So her song came true and here we are squeeing like banshees.
That Ep 3 scene: She ended up kicking her flannel pyjammas onto Healer's face much to his annoyance. LOL! Instead of kicking pants, she ought to be kicking his shin for deceiving her. :D

When Young-shin told him that he would never let her get hurt, it was the first time he has not been blamed for hurting others. He basically echoes his question to Teacher when he asks why it hurts everyone to see him to Young-shin and she answers him with the reassurance that he won't.
I know there are so many trials up ahead, but I don't think she'll go the noble idiocy route. I hope they maintain her strength and character throughout. And, I think she'll foil any thoughts of Healer-ya being a noble idiot like she did here.

Crysta I love how you worded that. Didn't realize that by young shin telling him that he won't hurt her, he was reassured for the first time in his life that no one will be hurt by him. Remember when the teacher came back, he told jung hoo, that he was in pain every time he saw jung hoo. And I think he felt that people were always getting hurt around him. Beautiful character. I'm in love with how complex and in despair his character really is.

Don't you just love it when our OTP have coordinating outfits? Like I loved it when they were both wearing that cream sweater in episode 13 and another one, in an earlier episode. Then the gray one in this episode when CYS had to borrow BS's clothes.
In the rooftop-elevator kiss, the colors were baby blue, cream, and light gray but they all complemented well together. In that scene, everything was muted which highlighted the pinkness of their lips.
I swear to you, I've never paid attention to clothing and production things like this before but I guess after re-watching the whole drama for over 5x already, not counting re-watching the favorite scenes xnumber of times, I can't help but notice these details. LOL
Really love all of CYS big jackets with the big collars, lined with faux fur, they look so coooozy.

This is GREAT news! I really want to see them drowning in their love for each other out in the big world. Now they're really a couple mad for each other. So much deep stuff ahead....YS reunites with her mother. YS finds out they were together as children. We find out what the "accident" in 1992 was all about and who caused what. How was YS "lost"? I really want to know that one. We're in for more huge drama - but how wonderful that we get to enjoy a couple totally, mutually in love for the next six episodes!! I Love four OSTs of this drama :) keep replying them time to time, not only the music but the lyrics so much expressing the emotions correctly..
I like it very much when ajumma asked is CYS looks pretty? "hold me tight" was the bgm, at a point we could hear,
"ooohh Love challenging everything we thought it was right" it was so accurate to that situation :)
then a line from "what my eyes say", expresses JH's emotions "I cant bear to say I LOVE YOU but I am scared my eyes would say everything", Young Shin's eyes were covered at that time, wish she could see his eyes then
"YOU" the whole song was dedicated to YS's feeling but I so loved when they played at BS confession time because that time on JH's perspective it was not less than a dream or precisely a sweet LIE because he has no option to propose her as JH so he used his fake identity to do that because
It was okay to not to meet her, kiss her as JH, he loved her that much
I wont say anything about "ETERNAL LOVE" because it became my "eternal favorite" ;) it fits in any romantic situation but I did not like it when they played it after the press conference of Kim Eui Chan, it seems so out of place...
HIGHLIGHT it is my ringtone :)

My hubby has that ringtone.
I don't know if he's trying to feed my obsession or trying to get my attention.
