You know what? If nothing else, ‘Heirs’ had some really funny dialogue.

Ones with Kim Woo-bin and Park Hyung-sik especially 🙂

Kim Woo-bin was hilarious in this scene. I wanted to pet him and point and laugh at him all at once. Poor –well, this child has never been a puppy has he? Poor something or other.

One of my favourite scenes was as follows:
Eun-sang: Tan, why did you cry?
    Tan: Because of the penguins.
    Eun-sang: What?
Tan: The ice caps are melting and the penguins are losing their homes. It’s so sad.
His seriousness and her wtf expression cracked me up something awful.

Eun-sang: Where did you come from? I only closed my eyes for a second.
      Tan: From a fairytale.

Asianwiki is calling Jaejoong\’s new drama \’Manhole: Feel So Good\’ which just sounds all kinds of wrong to me. They probably don\’t want it to be confused with the movie!

Just finished marathoning Circle. There probably isn’t a GIF in my archive that captures what I’m feeling.

Are you done too? Feeling good about it?

Yes I finished on Friday. I feel a mix of relief, tiredness, anxiety over results but generally just glad it’s all over and I have all this free time. I am way behind on my kdramas.

Congrats to both of you! 😀

@kabsy, That’s the perfect description of my post-exam state lol. With the addition of almost stressing over all the things I want to make time for during this long break lol 😛 So many dramas, so many books!

I know, right? I have the Summer of Thrillers marathon planned for the next few weeks to make up for all the gritty shows I haven’t been attentive enough to enjoy!

What on Earth dictates the Dramabeans levels? I can\’t figure it out.

Same. I thought it was the upvotes but..😩😩😩

I think it’s a combination of a certain number of comments, upvotes, people you follow and how many followers you got.. this what I deducted lol

    2
    1

Yes, I believe that also includes posting on your fan wall. I assume you get points for each and then whatever the totals are dictate what your level is?

Netflix just uploaded loads of GOOD and EXPENSIVE Korean drama. I must be feverish. What is happening?!

Bad guys and Misaeng, I’m down with that. I am pleased that Netflix seems to be embracing kdramas more and more.

As well as ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’, the ‘Reply’ series and all three ‘I Need Romance’! Usually Netflix opts for the cheaper jtbc shows, so I literally had to double take when I was scrolling.

I knew of Reply 97′ and 94′ but they have It’s Ok, That’s Love? Great!

I love this, since I feel I can recommend my non-kdrama watching friends these shows. They wouldn’t go out of their way to watch a kdrama, but if it is easily accessible on Netflix, I feel they would be more likely to check it out. And having quality shows helps guarantee that they will enjoy them!

I’m a pretty possessive person – I’m obsessed with preventing the things I like from becoming mainstream – so I don’t know how I feel about this, which I know is ridiculous. I suppose if the Dramabeans community could grow as a result, then I would like that, because its nice how we can actually have serious discussions (and generally don’t get random commenters who despise grammar and capital letters).

Hahahaha. I like to see this as a good thing.

The odds that kdramas are going to become ‘the next big thing’ on Netflix is pretty darn low. People are lazy and kdramas require actual reading skills. I have heard “I don’t do subtitles” before *shudders at the thought* A lot of people are afraid of foreign content. They just don’t know what good stuff they are missing!! There is so much more out there.

I guess to add to @umbrellaman ‘s comment, I also think this is a good thing and could result in better access and subs for dramas. It also might mean that those who usually watch fan-subs online might migrate to watching on more legit and properly licensed (aka paid for) platforms.

But yeah, I don’t see it going mainstream yet. With the Marvel and Disney movies, and originals like House of Cards, there’s a lot of other things to see on Netflix. You’d already have to be willing to try foreign content to even consider kdramas when you have all of that to distract you. I mean I can only find time to watch 1-2 shows at a time, especially since I’m constantly checking out the new movies as well (MOANA was just released on Canadian Netflix. REJOICE). Often I’ll switch between an American TV show and a kdrama just to balance. Can’t imagine if you already watch American TV suddenly finding time to add in dramas. IT’S SO HARD.

Thanks for the heads up 😀 I am glad that Netflix is adding Korean dramas, even if I already watched them.

I’m so washed out from exams right now, I don’t have the mental capacity to deal with anything but rom-coms. I’d be dead without ‘The Best Hit’ and my other pick-me-ups.

That is the perfect show to watch in this condition. Funny, zippy and light. My new favorite of all the rom-coms.

Not to mention all the flutters ‘Suspicous Partner’ and ‘Fight My Way’ are giving me. I loved what I’ve seen of ‘Circle’ so far, but I just can’t make it through an episode!

Circle requires actual brain power. So, I am not surprised you aren’t able to get through it at the moment. But, once your brain is fully functioning again, I highly recommend it.

Romcoms were my only drama-watching when I was doing my exams this semester too lol. Cause you don’t have to use your brain 😛

The Best Hit is so funny! It’s the most crack-tastic a drama has been for me all 2017.

I have a couple more exams to go ad I totally agree. I don’t know where I would be without The Best Hit and its jokes.

Good luck with the rest of your exams. I’m loving the Best Hit. Circle’s great but you do have to concentrate so best to wait until you have more energy.
