Watching Scholar Who Walks the Night: Nothing good ever comes from letting Lee Joon Ki profess his love for you in four times in the first episode. She’s gonna die, isn’t she. T.T They were so cuuute!
Right? She was a bit more composed than the current leading lady–but our heroine is beginning to grow on me a bit. It changes the tone to less of Princess’ Man and brings in just a tad more Sungkyunkwan Scandal, for good or bad. We’ll see!
No crossdressing that I remember, but some princess-pauper station switching. And the romance and the tone is just overall more epic than cute. Gwi falls in love? He has a love other than blood? Kekeke I can ‘t wait to see that, I’m only on episode 4 so far. ^^
Watching Scholar Who Walks the Night: “Oh, this is pretty good… yeah, I’m being entertai– what the?! Was that an arm? Did he really just rip his arm off??!” Lol I think I’m going to like this show.
Is it too much to ask for a season two of Midnight Diner?? I just finished it, and 💖. Failing that, what should I watch next? Scholar Who Walks the Night, Vampire Prosecutor, or Aftermath?
Officially unimpressed by \”Rescue Me\”. Unrealistically bleak portrayal of the world, especially the HS kids. The editing does nothing for me, although some like it. The color scheming does even less.
I think they intentionally portrayed the characters to have more of that heavy atmosphere. Same with the color scheming. There’s no vibrant color and it suits this little town where weird things happen.
Maybe as episodes go by you will warm up to it. If not it’s good that you tried it 🙂
Yeah, maybe so. If you enjoy it, then I’m glad. 🙂 For me, I don’t know… the first two episodes were ok, if dark. The third was just a bit too much. (spoiler if you haven’t seen it yet) I think it was the kid stabbing Dong Chul with an umbrella and then trying to go at him later with a broken glass bottle that really got me. That’s just not something a high school kid would do, punk or not. Not unless he was really involved in some bad gang stuff. In all it just seems like to many of the characters here are corrupt, punks or otherwise evil. The world just isn’t that twisted, not that blatantly, and it’s bothering me that they (the producers) make it out to be. I know it’s had a good reception for the most part so I don’t want to be super negative in a recap or anything, but I figured I’d vent here a bit more privately. I am glad I tried it though, if only for Taecyeon (I enjoy seeing him grow as an actor).
I watched ep 3. The writer must have wanted everything to go worse than before. The stabbing and broken bottle warned us that something bigger will come (the kid fell and lost his legs). We can call it karma. High school kids that are not conscious of their act do crazy things and end up hurting others and themselves.
I understand that it doesn’t pull you in. There’s no balance between really evil characters and really good characters.
Too many deaths in my dramas lately!! Falsify, Save Me, at least 25 in Criminal Minds, looming doom in Reunited Worlds… I’m watching Strongest Deliveryman tonight, but I swear if his friend dies…
Yay! Well, at least it will let me post pictures of LJS (fie upon any who try and stand in the way of that great enterprise…) Let’s see if it’ll let me post what I wanted then. ^^
I am mad with Reunited Worlds because while MJ is a great guy, JW really doesn\’t have feelings for him. It\’s unfair to MJ if the ship only sails as a backup when her love returns to heaven.
I am dissatisfied with Reunited Worlds. I want a real kiss. I want my JWxHS OTP. If his mission is to do everything he wanted before leaving, then he wants a long lifetime with HS. Problem solved.
It’s still really good, just in more of a “tear my heart out and stomp all over it” sort of way and less of a “look at them being super cute against impossible odds” sort of way. If you dropped it already, I don’t know if you’ll want to finish until we know the ending… at least, that’s how I usually roll. ^^
\”blahblahblah\” \”…yes.\” \”blahblahblah\” *sigh*\”…yes.\” \”blahblahbl–what, is there a problem?\” \”… … it would\’ve been nice if she\’d put her hair up…\” …Pwahahahahahaha I love School 2017.
right?? That entire scene was just gold. And later, when he kept debating whether to stick his headphones in her ears. Lol he’s just so adorable I can’t even.
You know what they say about kdramas: if it’s a cop show you fall in love at the police station, doctors and it’s ER romance… if it’s “Last”, you fall in love in the Seoul homeless underground. ^^
*watching criminal minds* Ok, they\’re just driving… and it\’s raining… and now they\’re getting pulled ove–immediate pause and jump to DB. T.T I don\’t know if I can bear to watch this again…..
Watching Criminal Minds ep. 3: *first half* hmm, looks like this will be a slower episode… *start second bit* Oh dear heavens. Oh, heavens. *watching through fingers* too much, show! Too much!
So, forgoing any moral dilemmas, I see no reason why Dae-Hwi, Tae-Hoon and Eun-Ho can\’t all be Student X. You know, form their own little vigilante group! It\’d be fun, come on!
Exactly. Since it would be impossibly hard to change the school’s crazy system through legal means, they should make their own vigilante group to make a meaningful change for the students.
seriously. I wish I had a prior experience with actual Korean schools, so I’d know what was more exaggerated and what is more realistic. Even so, I feel like I’ve done enough actual research (I actually wrote a college paper about the gaokao in China once) to know it’s a seriously pressure filled system.
Right? I feel so bad for their homeroom teacher, he’s so kindhearted amongst the rest… but I don’t even know if I really agree with him either, since let’s face it, teenagers can be punks sometimes (we all are at times, really). But the merits/rankings system isn’t the way to handle it at all either! Gaaaah I shouldn’t rant about education in my kdrama haven, it feels like bringing real life into my hobby too much…
The latest tricks that the crazy teachers & principal did in Ep 5 are so argh I can’t find the words. I never hated a kdrama high school more than this.
