Falling in love with a stranger in Temperature of Love

I really like the contemplative feel of this teaser, and I’m excited by the prospect that this might be the tone of the show. SBS’s new romance drama Temperature of Love is on the way in a few weeks, and it features a coupling I’ve been looking forward to: Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim costars Seo Hyun-jin and Yang Se-jong are reuniting, this time in a romance between two people who fall in love, break up, and come back into each other’s lives.

The new series from Doctors, High Society, and Warm Words writer Ha Myung-hee is about contemporary relationships and a couple’s quest to find the perfect temperature of love, where they both have the same intensity of feelings for one another at the same time. Seo Hyun-jin plays screenwriter Lee Hyun-soo, and Yang Se-jong is chef Ohn Jung-sun, and in the teaser they introduce themselves to each other while pointing out that hers is a man’s name and his is a woman’s name.

As he passes her in the street on his bike, Yang Se-jong narrates, “My heart went to her, this woman I had seen for the first time.” He catches her repeatedly as she trips and nearly falls, and as they lock eyes, Seo Hyun-jin narrates, “I fell in love with this man I didn’t know.”

Enter the second leads: Kim Jae-wook (Voice), who plays a self-made businessman and Yang Se-jong’s restaurant partner, and Jo Boa (The Man Living in Our House), who is Seo Hyun-jin’s frenemy and rival in career and in love. Yang Se-jong continues in voiceover, “We met a era when it’s really difficult to love…” But as he and Seo Hyun-jin gaze at each other while waiting out the rain, he asks if she wants to date. Her narration closes out the teaser: “…And yet we declare our love. In this era, we love.” Actors I love and chemistry to boot? Where do I sign up?

Temperature of Love airs on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning September 18 on SBS.

This teaser is shooting my hopes up high despite not being confident with the writer (I only liked CWGM from her list of works) before this. I'm totally in for the cast (SEO HYUN JIN I MISS YOU).

The mood, the narrations, the colours. Right on point, totally my style. I've been craving for these sort of melo works lately, since I enjoyed shows like On the Way to the Airport and The Beauty Inside. Please be good show, please be good.

Same I've been in the mood for a really nice melo and the teaser for this show is really raising my expectation because the tone is just pitch perfect to what I've been craving. Hopefully this time round her writing doesn't flounder

I am desperately waiting for this series because I love to see more of Seo Hyun Jin's phenomenal acting just like she did in Oh Hae Young Again.

I dont give damn on Yang Se Jong haha

I expect this drama to suck. The writer's last three shows were all weak. A shame too since Yang Se-jong just put in a good performance in the very entertaining Duel.

The teasers look and feel great, but I have to agree that I don't have much faith in the writer. However, I've never seen Seo Hyun-jin in something bad, so I think I can trust her choice.

This writer doesnt do plot very well (cue Doctors and High Society) but I would not go as far as to say the shows were all weak. They were very watch-able (especially Doctors which did so well with ratings), just not great in terms of plot.

I am unsure of the writing as well. I ended up dropping Doctors and I couldn't get into High Society despite my love for the actors in both dramas. I know the actors will be amazing but the story may leave much to be desired. Hopefully the writer is improving with each drama, meaning this will be better than Doctors, which was better than High Society etc.

I agree, I only finished High Society because of Park Hyung Sik. If not I probably wouldnt have finished it as well.

I usually like knowing very little about a show before I watch it, but it's a good think I know that they will meet/have met, break up and then get back together. I would be annoyed if I saw that without knowing. And Kim Jae-wook! That guy needs a lead. Has he ever had a leading role? If not, it's about damn time.

Count me in! I sometimes replaying some of her scenes from her sageuks because I miss her in sageuk. Or if not sageuk, I hope she will do other genre than romcom because romcom is just so easy for her now.

When will Kim Jae-wook be a leading man? He certainly has the acting chops for it. In Who Are You he said so much with just his eyes and in Voice he was electrifying. That aside, looking forward to this. I know everyone except the male lead (didn't watch Romantic Doctor, please don't kill me), but it looks good.

I agree! I find it unimaginable that he couldn't be cast as one. It makes me wonder if he just doesn't choose those roles. I could definitely understand preferring to have a better work/life balance and smaller parts. Otherwise though, it doesn't make any sense! Maybe directors are concerned with having their male lead to be prettier than the female lead. ...hmmm?

It's so sad to see Jo Boa stuck and only playing bitchy second leads when her talent deserves so much more. The poor girl even worked with meningitis then got forced to another bitchy second lead role, meanwhile useless nugu idols who can't act and not even famous (that whatever girl in the Lngerie Girls drama) get lead roles ahead of her. She should be the kind of talent that gets lead roles in big writers dramas but instead they throw their roles away on these randoms or Suzys and Orange Marmalade girl types because they want PPL.

(my saying this isnt against Seo Hyun Jin, she is a wonderful actress and I'm her fan too)

I'll definitely watch it. I just need some watcheable romcom, and not expecting some top notch drama. I'm mkre excited to see the girls more, although I do love both male leads as well.

If there is Seo Hyun-jin, there will be me too. I just pray time will come for Jo Bo-ah and other talented actresses to get their lead role. Seo Hyun-jin also achieved her success when she was already in 30s and done numerous supporting roles, so nothing is impossible.

Unrelated but Hyun jin's see-through puff-sleeved polka dot jacket (or whatever) with orange shorts is distracting me.

Still looking forward to it though.

I hope this one fills the void in my kdrama landscape for rom-coms. I'm liking Falsify but I'm not clingy with it so I'm excited for it to end, both to see how everything shakes out and for Temperature of Love to start soon.

In that tens of seconds teaser only Seo Hyunjin has been able to tell a blossoming romance and a heartbreak. I have to say in my 4 years of drama-watching experience, getting to know Hyunjin in Oh haeyoung was the best one. I have no doubt of her in romcom also in medical also sageuk (I watched somw clips and damn right she's awesome) but I truly cannot wait to see her in thriller. And tbh I would want to see her playing some psycho complex antagonist instead of the protagonist. Oh god will this ever happen?

September is going to be filled with potentially good dramas. This, and "20th Century Boy and Girl", and "While You Were Sleeping" are looking good! This will be the first time in a long while, that I will be following more than one or two kdramas at the same time. I really hope those shows won't disappoint.

Perhaps it will be a good thing for the drama. The less its airing period overlaps with Temperature of Love, the better?

Temperature of Love definitely will beat all its competitors to the pulps.

Thanks for the TEMPERATURE OF LOVE update, girlfriday!

Knowing the calibre of the acting I can expect from the four leads, this will be dandy. I'm not sure which prospect makes me happier: my #1 actress Seo Hyun-jin in a rematch with ROMANTIC DOCTOR, TEACHER KIM alumnus Yang Se-jong, or lots of non-sociopathic-homicidal-maniac screen time for Kim Jae-wook. Jo Boa's scheming second-lead drove me nuts in SWEET STRANGER AND ME, so I'm hoping she expresses her frenemy-ness in a different way. She did a great job in the role and had excellent comic timing, although the show kind of went off the rails, sad to say.

Truth to tell, I'd love to see the leads in a sageuk. Yang Se-jong did a great job in his dual Joseon and contemporary role in SAIMDANG, LIGHT'S DIARY. (His highly-nuanced performances in his quadruple role in DUEL were stunning.) For the record, Kim Jae-wook was in KINGDOM OF THE WINDS, so he's got sageuk experience, too. I just noticed that Jo Boa was in HORSE DOCTOR, of which I only saw one or two episodes before moving on to THE KING'S DAUGHTER, SU BAEK-HYANG -- where I made the acquaintance of SHJ. She is simply terrific in the title role.

I wonder how this will turn out. I hated Doctors and High Society. They were both way too boring for me and Warm Words was just okay. I like the leads, but I'll keep my expectations low.

Seo Hyun-jin & Yang Se-jong look so good together especially during the rainy scene. Their intense stares. *-*

i have a gut feeling that this drama isn't gonna do well. it's giving me the shin minah time travelling drama vibes where it's going for a really aesthetic and nostalgic love story but it'll end up being slow and uninteresting. i hope im wrong bc i adore this cast.

I have a lot of thoughts on this.

I don't know but I found Seo Hyun-Jin's eyebrows strangely distracting. Did she do something to them? Cause I think it's because of them which makes her face look a bit different.

As I've never been into any Noona love, and all Yang Se Jong's work I've seen is RDTK, I just don't feel the chemistry at this state. If I were a matchmaker I would match her with the second male lead though, that one looks more interesting. The leads look cute together, like siblings, like friends.. but I'll see if the roles and their acting make me change my mind.

SYJ is my #1 Korean actress so I'll definitely see anything she's in. She pulled off so well in Oh Hae-young Again. I hope the magic is there again in the show. *fingers crossed*

I don't see anything strange on her eyebrows. She still looks the same to me. Certain hairstyle suits her more.
In the latest interview, i gather that she's interested in hyun soo's role but the noona romance story, it's written that way although there is some concern. It's still too early to tell, especially from teasers. I'll watch and give them some time to warm up. However, for those who had watched RDTK, it's probably easier to accept them as couple from the start.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this. After reading your comment I even compared these pictures of her with oictures in other previous projects she was in. I think I agree with you that perhaps there's nothing wrong with her eyebrows then, but because she looks different depending on how her makeup and hairstyle are done.

i love both actors Yang Se Jong & Seo Hyun Jin but I just can't imagine them together, because she's older than him. Anyway, I hope this drama would let me change my mind on this.
