1500 words of fangirling on Strongest Deliveryman on my blog! http://dayan.xyz/2017/09/16/checking-in-on-strongest-deliveryman-episodes-1-12/

I loved your fangirling post ^___^ it’s funny how Strongest Deliveryman seems so uninteresting on paper but when you watch the drama and almost all the characters are lovable and their personality have so many ‘colors’ to them, it feels so good to watch, doesn’t it?. About the bit you wrote of Kang-soo delivering a speech to Dan-ah mentioning the male privilege and how he admire her for enduring for so long in the business also made me emotional too, and i personally think Kang-soo is perfect as a character and this scene only consolidated my thoughts on him.

Also, unrelated to Strongest Deliveryman, i saw another post of yours, about the hilariously crazy jdrama “Fuben na Benriya”, i’ve binged watched this one too and have no regrets lol, i started watching this after seeing Okada Masaki in “Okitegami Kyouko no Bibouroku”.

I think this comment got too long lol.

Omg thank you so much for reading my post! It means a lot! And yes, that’s why I didn’t initially watch this one because it sounded boring on paper. But this drama is populated by such lovable characters that makes it so comfortable to watch. I feel like I’m seeing a group of people I wish I was friends with.

Initially, I thought Kang-soo was TOO nice of a person and being a cynical person, I’m not entirely sold or comfortable with those kinds of people. With too-nice characters in dramaland, I tend to feel like they’re not really real people because it’s impossible not to feel anger! (Except for those with psycopathic conditions maybe)

But then as the episodes went by, that thought immediately disappeared. Go Kyung-pyo was so believable and adorable and then we saw how tortured he was by his feelings of anger for his mother. Anyway, I don’t know if I’m making any sense.

I do agree though that he’s a perfect character. That speech!!!

OMG you watch jdramas too! (And really, huhu, thank you for reading my little space in the void!) It was indeed hilariously crazy and perfect for binge watching, especially if you’ve had a bad day. I love Okada Masaki but I haven’t seen Okitegami because I’m only coming back to jdramas now and there are a lot to catch up on!

Really huhu you made my day! Just knowing that someone read my blog!

Yeah i was also afraid that Kang-soo would be too nice, which would be frustrating for us viewers, but gladly he’s nice but not an idiot lol. I really like what the writer’s doing to all the characters, she doesn’t let them become a cliche.

KIM SUN-HO WHY IS IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HATE YOU IS IT THE DIMPLES OR THE VULNERABILITY BECAUSE OF THE NUANCED ACTING

6
4

RIGHT? It’s both. He is so layered and dimpled.

    3
    2

He was adorable in Chief Kim but that’s easy. Just a smile here and there and he could do it. His character there is such a sweetheart.

BUT THIS? I can’t believe this is his second role ONLY. He’s so good!

      2
      0

Yes, and both his acting and dimples have so much depth! LOL!

They have left to shoot for their third trip today!
I was thinking of starting the show for Jinwoo now..

    2
    1

They did?!?!?! OMG at least I know that there’s gonna be more. I just don’t know WHEN it’ll drop.

I initially started this for Jinwoo but now I’m in it for Uhm Ki-joon. Haha!

Please do watch it! I didn’t really expect to love it but I do! Maybe it’s because I love travel shows and if it includes celebrities facing hardships such as hitchhiking and trying to sell their own belongings ALL THE BETTER HAHAHA And their dynamics are so good!

I started at episode 5 because that’s when Jinwoo entered the show but I just wanna say that just watch eps 5-9. (I have yet to watch episodes 1-4, currently downloading them.) Don’t go into the tenth episode because then you’ll be like me WAILING TO THE HEAVENS FOR THE NEXT EPISODE hahaha

      1

Yup! I saw some instagram posts from some Winner fan accounts and also from a lady cast member (I don’t remember her name)..

Hehe…. you went in for Jinwoo too? *Hi-5!* I have wanted him to have his time in the limelight and to be the maknae for once and this seems like the perfect show for that.

Oh yes I intend to start from ep 5 tonight! 🙂

As for me, Minho is my bias but I wanted to see their different mojiri-ness so I thought of checking it out. Hope you enjoy and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

          1
          2

Ah I don’t have a bias in Winner! I love them all! But there are days where I love one a lil more than others- right now it is Hoony because he is so extraa 😛

I hope so too… will tell you how I feel about it once I finish their first trip then 🙂

@obsessedmuch Have you seen Magic Cellphone and Love for a Thousand More? I was supposed to watch it today but I ended up catching up with Falsify for this week’s finale + rewatching Wizards of Nowhere hahaha

            0

It’s so hard to write about this month’s prompt! I don’t know how to attack it and from what angle should I write from or what dramas to even talk about HMMMMM

4
1

You are so right! The topic seems direct enough but when you actually start to write a lot of sub factors come into play and you realize you have to narrow down your thoughts. Plus its tempting to listen to OSTs all day. So I’m ending up writing lyrics lol 😂

after binging (and sleeping at 4am) due to wizard of nowhere, i now have a crush on uhm ki-joon. so, yet another reason to watch four men

Has anyone seen MY GOLDEN LIFE? Any thoughts? Or at least, any family drama recommendation? *severely misses FATHER IS STRANGE*

2
15

I saw the first episode and it was ok. I think I will probably just watch it since I like the set up for the story. Usually I don’t watch weekend dramas or dramas that last for 50 episodes. But the one that I did see a few years ago was Flames of Ambition which I highly recommend since its to me one of the best K dramas I have seen.😀

    1
    1

I usually don’t watch weekend dramas too @eve but Father is Strange was so heartwarming and good that I wanted even more episodes! So now I’m on the lookout for the next FIS. Thanks for the rec but isn’t Flames of Ambition a bit makjang-y? I’m kind of iffy on those.

      1
      1

Flames of Ambition does have makjang elements but it’s a pretty good story. The drama is well written and I didn’t know how it was going to end. I highly recommend it.😀
My Golden Life the second episode was good. The stories are interesting, the only one that I don’t like so far is the sister that works at the bakery shop. So I think I will keep watching it for now.

        1
        1

I’ll take your word for it! Since it has Yoo Seung-ho in it, maybe I should finally give it a chance.

          1
          1

Yes, that was the first drama I saw him in. His performance is pretty good. He is one of my favorite actors.😀

            1
            0

Its definitely better than the man who sets the table.. Shin hye Sun is doing a fantastic job in it.. can’t say much about the other storylines yet.. esp her twin sister who is just weird. Butt considering is a long weekender it might need more time to develop.

So for now ill say you can watch it as decent timepass.. not yet at father is strange level!

    2
    3

Thank you so much for your thoughts and input, @irishrah. I guess even if it’s a really good one, since it’s a family drama, it’d take time to reach hype levels. I do adore Lee Tae-hwan so I’m hoping to catch this one.

      0
      0

Yes I think she is doing a great job too.😀
Agree about her twin sister, I don’t get her character yet, maybe her story will flesh out in the next episodes.

      1
      1

I’ve actually only seen Shin Hye-sun in Forest of Secrets (LOVE THIS SHOW) and Oh My Ghostess, so I’m looking forward to seeing her more. Glad to hear she’s doing great in here!

        1
        1

This is the first drama I see her in. I will try to check out her other dramas too.😀

          1
          1

She’s not the leads in both of those dramas but I loved both! Forest of Secrets is just sooooo good, hope you give it a go! Oh My Ghostess was fun and Park Bo-young is just such a great actress. I sometimes forget that she’s not really possessed by Kim Seul-gi’s ghost. She really nails the role!

            1
            0

I definitely have a different reaction to the two dramas because while shin hye sun is doing well…the story line is not really captivating…am liking the man who sets the table more.

      1
      1

I agree.. at this point the only selling point for My golden Life is Shin Hye-sun.
I felt that Man who sets the table was a bit too black and white.. either juvenile-ish innocent (female / male lead meet) or extreme villain like the father.. but again, I’m still watching it too – hopefully one of these dramas will turn out to be good!

        1
        1

@irishrah and @kdramaskimchi, I didn’t check out Man Who Sets the Table because the trailer’s abuse/violence was off-putting to me. What’s your take on that?

While I like Shin Hye-sun and Lee Tae-hwan, I’m still more of a plot person so now I’m scared for My Golden Life. Hahaha

          0
          1

Lol! Plot wise My Golden Life description itself is slightly makjang.. what with chaebol birth secrets right from episode 1. But I’m willing to give it a shot since kdrama recently are doing so well with such plots (My father is strange, Women of dignity).

That way Man who sets the table from get-go has a better potential storyline sans typical makjang.

and yeah.. the abuse from the father was off putting for me too.. and there is lot of mild violence played off for comedy which feels a bit juvenile to me. but lets see where they go.. 50 episodes is a long way and series can get completely derailed or get fabulous in it!
