Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching

Checking in for another weekend wrap-up! It feels like it’s been the longest week ever, and I can’t figure out if keeping track of all of the dramas ever is what makes it feel so long, or if having lots of hours of drama goodness helps make the time fly by. Well, in either case I suppose I count myself lucky; there are worse ways to spend a week! –javabeans

Currently recapping: Seven Day Queen

Circle: I love how each character’s desperation and yearning grows deeper the closer we get to uncovering the truth, and that it brings together people who might otherwise never see eye to eye, like Joon-hyuk and Ho-soo. When Ho-soo became the voice urging them to press on, and asked to return his memories if his sacrifice resulted in their erasure, it was such a lovely thematic way to come full circle (ahem) with his character. As for that cliffhanger, I’m dyyyying to find out if they finally find Woo-jin, but also a little scared on behalf of his loved ones what revelations that might yield.

Father Is Strange: For the first time ever, I’m enjoying the clashes between a bride and her shrill, fussy mother-in-law. Unni is so self-possessed and capable (with an impish side that relishes winning) that it’s hilarious to see her mother-in-law flailing to try to get the upper hand, only she never will because her daughter-in-law will always outsmart her. Maybe it’s because it’s all done in a good-natured way that I find this funny and not upsetting. Meanwhile, I hate that Joong-hee is going through such ultimately needless anguish over his fauxcest crisis, but his ensuing effort to get close to his father and brother did give us a rewarding bit of male bonding.

The Best Hit: I groaned a little when it was revealed that Woo-seung’s hidden talent was an undeveloped knack for songwriting, because that falls so neatly in line with our current world of idols and agencies. It’s so convenient. But I’ll put aside that minor complaint because it does provide a glimmer of hope that the rooftop bunch can still find success in their dreams—not exactly the way they imagined, but maybe in an even more rewarding way.

Suspicious Partner: I was dying for our team to catch the killer because he seemed so smug and it seemed so unlikely given his cleanly covered tracks. But then he got attacked by someone who probably wronged him badly in the past and never paid for it, and now I’m feeling all sorts of indignation on his behalf, even though yes, he’d killed a bunch of people and is planning on killing more. I almost want our lawyers to help the killer achieve his revenge first and then turn him over for his punishment, because knowing what’s driving him makes it feel unfair for that other bad guy to be out running free.

Lookout: I initially expected our Lookouts to be a team of damaged people who would unite in purpose and become a heartwarming surrogate family. That’s sort of true for our core three teammates, but I find it unexpectedly satisfying to see the tension between them and the Boss, and how they aren’t automatically on the same page even if they’ve been working together all this time. The grudging teamwork keeps things tense, in a good way.

Woman of Dignity: Okay, I think I get what this show is going for now—I wasn’t necessarily drawn by the plot, but curiosity over the tone is what had me tuning in. And oddly, though it may be uneven in places, I do like the deadpan sense of humor and the ridiculous characters—they aren’t absurd by being over-the-top, but they definitely feel absurd. Kim Sun-ah for sure isn’t playing a funny character, but I did find humor in how she worked the family with her bumpkin-y cover. I can’t say I really care about the whodunnit, but if I keep watching it’ll be for the tone, which I find dry and potentially acidic.

My Sassy Girl: I was prepared for more serious turns, since rom-coms often shift from heavily comedic to more melodramatic as the show wears on, but I find myself wishing the shift weren’t quite so extreme—that it were less outlandish in the beginning, and less straight now. Just as it found a sense of emotional grounding (which I appreciate), it completely lost its sense of humor. I like the characters more now than I did at the start, but the drama feels like it has become more generic, and lost what made it its own thing. I miss the stupid-funny!

Fight My Way: Well, finally! I know I said I would love to see this couple being friends for a while, but I actually think they left the friend zone a long time ago and have been dancing around in the romance zone without actually doing anything about it, and that frustrated me. I still really dislike the second couple storyline even though I think they’re both decent people who care about each other and deserve good things. I just don’t really care to see this relationship play out, because I keep thinking they should just break up, figure things out, and then decide whether they want to get back together. Offscreen.

Duel: Eep, more clones?! I definitely like where this is going, namely that I don’t know how many versions of this guy there are walking around, or who the original one was. All I know is, when our clone started to have memories from a past he couldn’t have been alive for, I went from casually watching to going, Gimme more episodes!

Fight My Way: This drama just makes me happy. Why is it that every time this hero says things like “I want to hold your hand” or “I want to kiss you,” it makes me more fluttery than the actual handholding or kissing? Oh and I really love gruff, overprotective Dad, all tatted up and willing to go to the ends of the earth to cheer on his daughter. He’s the best.

Circle: I’ve been preparing myself for the possibility that the brothers will never reunite in the future timeline, but now that we’re closing in on the final week and everything has been building towards this moment, I can’t contain my expectations anymore and will be so disappointed if I don’t get an epic reunion. I’m scared! What if it isn’t awesome?

Suspicious Partner: I almost wanted the team to suffer a death in order to really raise the stakes, because I’m not that invested in the mystery/killer portion of this drama. But I really do adore the lawyer Scooby Gang, and the happy moments they shared this week were pretty great. And hey, if it takes a happy team to allow for date night and other romancey developments, I vote for a happy team.

Lookout: The backstory I’ve been waiting for finally came this week, and I was not disappointed. It only made me more curious about the prosecutor and the priest, whose broken bromance makes me instantly more invested in their story. Now that the Avengers have finally assembled (in their hostile, double-crossing way), I hope to really dig into everyone’s pasts and watch them turn into a little family of their own.

The Best Hit: I’m super excited by the possibility that our rooftop sadsacks could band together through music. I hope that’s what’s in store (are there enough episodes for that?), because while the hijinks are awesome, that would truly make my day.

HeadsNo2

Forest of Secrets: In two weeks, Forest has officially become my favorite amongst all the currently airing shows. For a drama about a hero who can’t feel emotion, it certainly packs a wallop in the pathos department, and the quality is just out of this world on all fronts. The character work both Jo Seung-woo and Bae Doo-na are doing is phenomenal, and the overall mystery is actually mysterious and super compelling. I’m so lucky I’m watching this as it airs, otherwise I’d lose a whole lot of sleep.

My Sassy Girl: So the overall plot and pacing has improved, not quite enough to be compelling, but we’re at a better place than when we started. But the thing that’s getting to me the most is Joo-won, because I’ve seen him be absolutely brilliant before. I’m not getting much from him here, and I’m wondering if it’s because he’s got so little to work with as Gyun Woo. Sure, he’s rational and principled, but what else? His scenes are mostly just of him looking passively as action happens around him, which is just a shame, since he’s such an excellent talent and we’re about to lose him for two years. Maybe when he comes back, he’ll pick better projects.

Woman of Dignity: Now this is a curious case, because I had close to a flat-out negative reaction to the first two episodes. If it’s trying to be meta and satirical, I don’t see it. If it’s trying to be dead serious as something-like-but-not-necessarily-a-makjang, I guess I see it, but even weekend makjangs know what strings to pull to get you invested, whether for good or ill. I’m willing to give some leeway because of the director and Kim Sun-ah’s performance, but so far, meh.

Circle: Bravo to the show for perfectly executing the moment where Woo-jin saw the direct effects of the memory-altering technology. That look he gave Bum-gyun when Bum-gyun was at his purest and most joyful encapsulated every conflict the show has presented so far with its moral gray areas, enough for me to wonder if the technology would be so bad if people had the free will only to use it on themselves. Is it an all-or-nothing scenario, or can there be a middle ground? (And am I a terrible person for asking that?)

Currently recapping: Duel

Super Family 2017: On the one hand, I love every time they manage to get in a silly reference to Park Hyuk-kwon playing Gil Tae-mi. The meta on this show is so delightful and ridiculous. On the other hand, why does a sitcom make me cry more than a standard tear-jerker?!?!? The moment Chun-il began to sob, I suddenly started to tear up, and the tears didn’t stop until after the episode was over. How will Chun-il and I manage without the calm reassurance of Manager Choi each week?

The Best Hit: Woo-seung is my hero. It’s a mystery to me how she gets through each day while dealing with the ridiculousness of a clueless time-traveling pop-star on top of everything else, but I envy her strength of character. I also wouldn’t mind the accompanying crush from cutie Ji-hoon, just sayin’.

Currently recapping: Circle

Fight My Way: I squeal too much for this drama. I love how the main loveline is not necessarily based on an instant attraction that cannot be explained, but rather a slow deepening connection that resulted from years of support and friendship. The way Ae-ra and Dong-man are rediscovering each other all over again as potential mates is so cute because they’re so awkward and real-life about it. I have revised my opinion about Joo-man. He’s poop. If his aspirations in life are to be a show-off about his success, that’s completely fine, but abandoning his 6+ years solid, steady girlfriend to do so without even talking about it, that’s not okay. He’s being a coward for lying to her about the new intern girl, and he’s also being a bad partner by not taking an active role in making Seol-hee feel secure in their relationship.

tipsymocha

Circle: Man, this show sure knows how to do cliffhangers, and I can’t tell whether I love it or hate it. I knew the hour was coming up on Tuesday’s episode and I was willing for it to just go on a couple more seconds to reveal maybe-maybe-not future Woo-jin (it’d better be him, Show). It’s a strong lead into finale week, and I look forward to the bad guys getting their comeuppance and our twins reuniting (hopefully, please, I beg you), though I am torn that we only get two more episodes.

Seven Day Queen: So Yeonsangun KNEW that toady minister ordered his brother’s assassination all those years ago!? Eugh, you can go join Yeok in that corner, and preferably work it out before coming back to jointly grovel in front of Chae-kyung. I get why the brothers are both acting like they are, but I know they both have it in them to do the right thing, and the fact that they’re choosing not to is so aggravating. I love that Chae-kyung and her father are essentially their moral compasses, and I hope her suffering doesn’t last too long ‘cause it hurts to watch.

Suspicious Partner: Ohthankgod, I would’ve been so, so upset if Chief Bang had really ended up dead. Otherwise, I kinda wish our second lead prosecutor was smarter, because I’m nervous having her try to out-wile our murderous maniac. It’s unlikely to happen, and meanwhile he goes free to target the rest of our favorite ragtag gang of lawyers.

Forest of Secrets: Lol, this show is awesome in terms of quality, but I just can’t help but laugh at the amount of sass our emotionless prosecutor is just throwing out. I’m not even sure it’s intentional, which makes it even funnier. Oh man, I never expected to giggle so much at a legal thriller this serious.

Woman of Dignity: What a weird show. Each character feels like they’re living in a different genre, and it’s kind of disorienting. I can’t tell whether I like it or not yet. Also, is it bad that I’m not hating Jung Sang-hoon’s character in this, cheating and all? He’s just so horribly dense and simple, and coupled with those caterpillars for eyebrows, I can’t take him seriously enough to dislike him, even when he’s a philandering bastard.

New Journey to the West 4: Yaassss, the boys are back!! I love this group of manchildren to death, and I can’t wait to see more of them goofing around Vietnam. Also, I died in the first episode when Ho-dong repeated Ji-won’s name nearly 200 times during their buffet game. I’m saving that clip for rainy days when I need a quick laugh.

My favorite show right now is still Forest of Secrets. ??
I also really enjoy The Best Hit, Circle and Duel.
I'm ready to see the finale of Circle and finally find out what happened to Woo jin.
The Best Hit has so many different ships in the moment that I am starting to get confused about who I actually want to see together at the end. Also, I understand the frustration of Ji Hoon's foster father but he really needs to stop blaming Hyun Jae this much cause that poor guy literally fell down the stairs into the future.....it's not easy for him either.
Duel made an interesting revelation, I just want to get the relationships there sorted out as well cause that potential father daughter pair is making me a bit conflicted. ^^
Suspicious Partner and Lookout are still nice I guess but my excitement for those two has waned a bit.
Not sure if I should continue with the third episode of Woman of Dignity...the show hasn't really grabbed me.

I feel like watching some movies this weekend, any good ones to recommend? I feel like most movies are heavy & dark and I would prefer something light and fun right now so I have difficulties finding something that fits my appetite. ^^
Any help is appreciated. :)

I started Circle this week, and I'm not caught up yet but ahhhhhh I love it so much, it's definitely my favorite of the dramas currently airing. Although I did just start Seven Day Queen, and I want to start Forest of Secrets too, so who knows whether that will last. But I'm always a huge sucker for siblings looking out for each other, and Woo-jin and Bum-gyun finally finding each other for me is the emotional core of the show. Even without all of the cool sci-fi stuff (although I'm super into the cool sci-fi stuff) that'd be enough to keep me coming back.

This week I finished Chicago Typewriter and I can honestly say that it is on my list of Favorites for 2017. I love it to bits. It made me laugh, cry, it broke my heart and gave me a bittersweet ending, and although it took some time to get to the center of the story it was truly a gem. I am definitely having withdrawal syndrome and I even thinking of making some time in my schedule to watch it again, I will try to convince my drama buddy to watch it with me. Because of this marathon I am somewhat behind on the other dramas but I am getting there :)

Fight my Way- Currently in ep 5 and I love it. I love that it is very realistic and the chemistry between the actors is off the charts. The way they care for each other and their interactions is too cute for words. I can't wait for them to officially become something more than friends.

7DQ- I am in the middle of episode 8 and I am just relieved that the story continues to be good after transitioning to the adult part of the story. Also I am glad we didn't spend the whole drama with her trying to figure out that it was him.

Duel- I continue to love this show with its twists and I want some answers, which we are starting to get which is good. I continue to love the budding romance between DC and SJ, although it seems that in recent episodes the relationship between these two will get complicated :(. Also Yang Se-Jong is a plus ;).

Circle- This one I am truly behind on I stopped watching it for a week and I feel that because of that I lost the momentum I had with this show. It kills me that I read so many good reviews on it but every time I start to watch it I get distracted. I will try to catch up this week.

The other drama that I started was Forest of Secrets I am still on episode 1 but I like it so far and will also try to catch up to it this week.

I swear this is the most dramas I have watched at once. I hope this continues until the end of the year :).

I've had a busy week but I just managed to keep up with Circle, Seven Day Queen, Suspicious Partner and the Best Hit and watch several episodes of Answer Me 1998. I'm hoping the good guys can prevail in Circle as we go to the last two episodes. Like several other people, I'm unexpectedly finding the politics interesting in Seven Day Queen. I was pleased that Chief Bang survived in Suspicious Partner. I now want Hyun-soo to survive his road accident so we can unpick the back story. The Best Hit is so good. Don't make him change his hairstyle.

I loved Answer Me 1997 but only managed about half and episode of Answer Me 1994. I wanted to give 1988 a chance and I'm really enjoying the blend of social history, growing pains and family/community life. I've just finished episode 9 and I suspect I'm rooting for the wrong hero.

I didn't think you can bet on the wrong hero nowadays? Not with the actor having gotten where he is now and started rising since Answer me 1988?

Don't focus too much on the romance and instead enjoy the families relationships. That was the advice I got when I watched Reply 1988.

Theres a lot of good shows that I plan to catch up later on: Forest of Secrets and The Best Hit. For now these are my shows:

Fight My Way: I love how the story played out this week. What surprised me is that DongMan has been aware all this time. That line "doesnt want to lose her again" bit... swoon! Also I am happy as AeRa and DongMan step closer to their dreams, we also see progress towards their love lives. ?

Circle: This show has kept me on my toes and just stopped speculating on what is next. I just want to know what happened to WooJin. And if the twins will ever be reunited.

Seven Day Queen: As much as I adore LDG and his portrayal of Yeonsangun, I am more on Yeok's side. I sympathize with Yeonsangun knowing how the previous King and his ministers have treated him. But his weakness in character turns me off. Yeok is not perfect and his methods are also questionable. He still has a lot to prove that he would be a better King than his brother. Thus, i am looking forward to the next episodes to see how Yeok maneuvers the court and if he will be better at it than his brother.

My Only Love Song: I am mainly in this to see the cuteness that is GSY and LJH. They are so adorable and there's a lot of skinship and banter which I adore. I haven't seen their episodes in WGM so I didnt dive in this drama as a fan. But I am now a fan after seeing their great chemistry. I also want to see how the story resolves the time travel element.

Watching Circle, Lookout & Duel. Might start Forest of Secrets or Seven Day Queen.
I'm officially drama-slumping. In the past I've sometimes watched as many as 7 k-shows at a time.
Most of the shows I've started recently just didn't seem worth following. Especially disappointed with Ruler, because Kim So-hyun has been so good in other shows. Suffered thru 3/6 episodes, but the water monopoly plot was just too lame.
Also, I'm having trouble with most of the kdrama sites I used to go to. I much prefer downloading to streaming (for several reasons) and I prefer 1080p. Recently, between the sites where the download doesn't work any more and the sites that try to infect me with malicious ads and the sites that no longer have 1080p, I mostly settle for 720p downloads - or, faced with that choice, I might just pick up a book (remember them?) or fire up an old computer game.

Currently watching:

Circle:
Despite all my complaints I have kept up with this one till now, and I'm not going to stop before the last two eps! The idea of WJ being the motor of Human B is extremely interesting. Will they have destroyed his health and kept him chained to machines to have him comply? Or did they wipe his memories and lie to him to make him their accomplice, and now he remembered??
Tbh, although I'm strongly against memory manipulation, I do think that if you should lose your memories accidentally and be accidentally cured of PTSD, NO ONE has the right to make you remember. MY made me so, SO angry when she talked to WJ like she had a right to do that. Who cares if BG remembers her? Or anybody? What WJ cares about is whether BG is happy, she was only talking about her own happiness using BG as an excuse! Unforgivable.

Mask:
Seems like everyone dropped this one. It didn't change though from the beginning to the end. The actors are the same, still pretty, still good, the story is the same, still immature, still stereotypical. I wasn't expecting anything grand here, so there was no dissapointment. Waiting for the plot to play out.

Suspicious Partner:
It shocked me a bit that they suddenly went from not going out together to making passionate love (which was not really shown but you know, the taking off your clothes before you got into a room and can't take my mouth off yours scene). I guess they will have problems prosecuting HS now, but they will succeed, they will also bring the guy who tried to drive SH over to justice, everyone will be alive and the leads are going to marry. Hurray I can guess the main plot till the end. (?)

Fight for my way:
Still liking this one, although I really don't see how they are realistically getting anywhere with the wealthy and powerful against them. Still betting on the landlady being their saviour, still thinking that it kind of defies the purpose since it will only be one powerful person against others and the little ppl will have had no real influence on their fate, no matter how kind and hard working and optimistic they were and how much they deserved it. Kind of depressing if you think about it.

The best hit:
Also kind of depressing = = I don't see where this story is going either, so it's intriguing. I like the execution and the style very much and am hoping for an unexpected development with a happy ending.

As if I'm not live-watching more shows than ever (LOOKOUT, MY SASSY GIRL, CIRCLE, SEVEN DAY QUEEN, RULER, THE BEST HIT, DUEL, and MY ONLY LOVE SONG), I've had the urge to watch MY LOVE, EUN-DONG, and just finished marathoning it yesterday.

If ever there were a cautionary tale about the dire consequences of unrequited love, and the fine line between lifelong laser-focused devotion and bull-headed stalking, this is it.

I'm not usually into melodrama, but I really enjoyed this show. All three iterations of Park Hyun-soo / Ji Eun-ho were well played by Jin Young (teens), Baek Sung-hyun (20s), and Joo Jin-mo (30s).

Lee Ja-In is terrific as 13-year-old Eun-dong, and I appreciated Kim Sa-Rang's turn as her amnesiac adult self who finally remembers the events of her past life. I was not as taken with Yoon So-Hee's portrayal of Eun-dong the college student, for some reason. She seemed to sneer. A lot.

It came as a surprise to see Kim Tae-Hoon (straight-arrow Prosecutor Kim in LOOKOUT) playing the not-quite-totally-evil husband. His interactions with his son are very touching.

I'll admit that I was ready to tear my hair out every time Evil Hotel Heiress Jo Seo-Ryeong was on screen. The same goes for Eun-dong's hateful mother-in-law and her adoptive father, who are both certified pieces of work. That said, there are many lovely warm interludes that pretty much balance out the obnoxiousness and the makjang twist late in the show. A case in point is Hyun-soo's bantering relationships with his manager, Ko Dong-gyu (Kim Min-Ho) and the president of his firm, Lee Hyun-bal (Kim Yong-Hee). For all the busting of chops, these guys really do care about each other.

The use of background music in certain episodes is reminiscent of SOUL MATE and COFFEE PRINCE in how they underscore the action or mood. The OST has some lovely instrumentals.

I enjoyed the show. As always, just my $0.02. Your mileage may vary. ;-)

THE BEST HIT continues to wow me with its music. OST Part 3, "Sky," sounds to me like it could have been recorded back in the day by Take That or the Backstreet Boys. It must be the fingersnaps. ;-)

I don't know beans about Kpop, but I really love Yoon Mi-rae's vocals on this one. What a beautiful voice.

My heartfelt thanks to aliensooo for posting English lyrics. Dang, the feels.

Lovely, thank you. I also thought of Backstreet Boys!

In spite of all the laughs, The Best Hit is surprisingly hitting some emotional nerves with its simple message. All of the songs are variations on the theme of 'dream' and that life is something beautiful. Call me cheesy but I like that kind of hopeful message in a drama. Sort of like a Misaeng but in a variety format.

@WishfulToki,

Glad you enjoyed "Sky" -- it is truly a lovely song.

I know what you mean about THE BEST HIT's uplifting message. Although I haven't been Ji-hoon's age in many moons, I still recall the challenges of making my way in the world. Back then, I found a lot of my inspiration in music, and still do. Kdramas have turned out to be another source of constructive food for thought.

There's nothing cheesy about hope and dreams. No siree bob.

You reminded me of something Woody Guthrie wrote.

I hate a song that makes you think you are not any good. I hate a song that makes you think that you are just born to lose. Bound to lose. No good to nobody. No good for nothing. Because you are too old or too young or too fat or too slim. Too ugly or too this or too that. Songs that run you down or poke fun at you on account of your bad luck or hard traveling. I'm out to fight those songs to my very last breath of air and my last drop of blood. I am out to sing songs that will prove to you that this is your world and that if it has hit you pretty hard and knocked you for a dozen loops, no matter what color, what size you are, how you are built, I am out to sing the songs that make you take pride in yourself and in your work. And the songs that I sing are made up for the most part by all sorts of folks just about like you.

I had a short staycation this past week - perfect for drama-watching!

Father is Strange: Hye-young is so boss! Her door solution had me in stitches. Loved how the family gathered for Joong Hee's drama premiere and then teamed up togeher to leave glowing reviews. Or in the mom's case - fight with a netizen who left a bad review! I'm so ready for the fauxcest angst to end. MY and JH won me with their interactions. Him avoiding her makes the relationship less interesting.

The Best Hit: I think my favorite aspect of this drama is seeing our roomies interact and we got plenty of that at the rooftop drinking session. I'm glad that Hyun-jae is taking an interest in Ji-Hoon. As a viewer, I find HJ pretty lovable and fun to watch, but I've got to admit he is a jerk. I'm hoping while the kids help him become less of a jerk, he'll help them achieve their dreams.

Lookout: Loved this week's episodes! I was not feeling SJ's move to trap DH, but I'm glad it brought the team together. That car chase scene was sick! I replaying it like 10 times. I'm curious to see how SJ and DH will get out of their latest pickle. And if DH will be able to regain YSR's trust or maybe EJ will remove the stick up his butt and join our team!

Suspicious Partner: Chief Bang is alive!!! I'm torn between feeling horribly for Hyun-Soo (and wanting him to get his revenge), and feeling like he has crossed too far over the line to really deserve any sympathy. I really want to know HS's story though I can guess at the tragedy. I'm not too interested about the dads. And can't stand seeing DA Jang on my screen. He may be worse than corrupt prosecutor in Lookout.

Fight My Way: I wish JM and SH's story was less frustrating since the development of AR and DM's romance is firing on all cylinders and so full of win. I hope AR and DM finds out JM and SH's situation and either help bring them back on the same page or help them decide to break up. I still don't know why they had to keep their relationship a secret!

Seven Day Queen: Only caught episodes 5 and 6. I can totally see why this series has such love. The romance and tragedy are perfectly pitched and sweeping with a shot of humor in there. Given what happens at the beginning of episode 1 and the history of this queen, I may wait for the series to be over (and for the writer to hopefully give our OTP a happy ending somehow).

Fox's Romance: I'm not too into mainland china dramas (excessive length and fillers and dubbing!) I really like this one (with my finger ready on the FF button) since 1. the OTP aren't dubbed 2.the hero looks a little like Park Hyung Shik and 3. the heroine, who also doesn't follow the cdrama beauty standard, is just way too awesome. She can be cute and girlish at home, but at work, she is a professional. And in confrontations with people who want to put her down, she is able to...

Fight My Way: Yesssss!! So happy our main couple is finally together!! Really love their solid friendship and their realization that they cared about each other more than just friends. I'm rooting for AR to land the job that would shut HR up. Also can't wait to see DM put the rich, cowardly loser in his place in the ring. JM, please be a better bf to SH or just call it quits.

My Sassy Girl: Love how GW is being so kind, sweet, caring, and helping to HM. I really wanna see them working together to locate the deposed queen and to bring down the evil queen and Minister Jung. I hope HM will show the villains that she's not one to be messed with. Waiting for more details to be revealed about CP.

Ruler - Master of the Mask: At least some development for this week's eps and the dreaded truth about the crown prince's identity is finally learned by GE. I don't like how LS is changing and how he's siding with Daemok and easily believing his people now.

The Best Hit is the type of drama I've been longing for! A glimpse of everyday life of silly characters with flaws, but a good heart.?

No murders, please.?

I want to see The Best Hit!!!!! I wasn't planning to but after reading the positive feedback from the Dramabeans writers got me curious, and I read every single recap up to date. I was hooting and hollering and dying of laughter, and that's only by reading! Can't wait to watch...it'll bring my drama count over my normal 2 a week, but I'm not complaining!

Seven Day Queen: The hurt is so good ❤️

Father is Strange: Is it bad that I want Min Young to entertain the idea of dating that actor just so her loveline gets a kick in the pants?
Joong Hee's ex's appearance makes me feel like I should brace for cattiness and I just want him to be jealous and petty.

I am watching pretty much every show thats airing right now (sleep is overrated!)
Circle has been the biggest surprise for me considering i have always hated anything sci fi. Its amazing what happens when you get a good team together- the writers directing and acting is totally top notch.
The big hit is another fav-- i am so in love with dabong and his phone obsession.
For those who are looking to watch something heartwarming and funny i suggest Super Family 2017. I gem that i assure you will leave you feeling happy.
Also any sugesstions to hide the massive dark circles i now have-- i am sure all kdrama fans must have a few tips for this-- why are there so many good shows on all at once????

YES!! New journey to the west !
Again let me profess my love for Na Young Seok (Na PD) and this raggtag team. I laughed so hard at the ping pong game and the gatherings. I wondered why Mino had that horrible mullet hair, now we know :) Also YG's response when they called for permission"aah uri mino looks cutest with his head shaven" Eun Ji Won : "they say i have to shave my head too if he loses" YG : "No, that can never happen" (as in, not cute and ugly head) i laughed so hard at that part.

I am watching FMW, suspicious partner and the best hit, or hit the top... They all have something that keep me in with much or less passion.
I watched recently 20 again for the first time and I liked it... and I wish i didn´t have the time to watch more, so that i start quitting a little bit, but I haven´t found a job yet, and I always tune in!!!
Honestly, I cannot get cured from this crazy attachment to Korean dramas, because... let´s be honest again: it is viciously addictive. But then: how can I break up the link when LJS will come back with While you were sleeping, NJH with The water bride and now LBY with this???????
It is soooooo unfair!!!!!!!!!!!!
(i already made this comment before, but it goes better here)

Suspicious Partner really lost me somewhere along the way. I feel like every time the plot doesn't fully focus on the murder plot, the writer scrambles to find something for the gang to do, case-of-the-week style. It doesn't feel organic. Also the artifical will-they-won't-they dragged on for way too long and I just... don't care anymore. SAD.
Fight My Way is still great as ever, despite me falling for the oldest trick in the drama book. I hope they keep surprising me cause I'm having a 'W' situation where my predictions for the entire main plot are over and we're barely even halfway there.
The Best Hit didn't manage to capture my interest but I'm on episode 6 so...

LOL at the first picture! :)

I was nodding my head as I was reading tineybeanie's assessment of FMY. JM is poop. He needs to come clean to his GF and they need to decide whether their future is to be together or go their separate ways. Seolhee deserves better after supporting this jerk for years. Love the chemistry between the lead couple. So cute!

If you ask me what Kdramas I'm watching now? You might think I'm crazy because I'm watching over 10 Kdramas at this moments. Yes, so far the best is My father is stranger - gives me a deep thoughts of Joong-hee situations to found out his real father and the feelings of him to his half-sister. Second is Fight for my way - logic normal lifes of people who had childhood friendships living together is definitely have feelings to each others after longtimes. Along with "Suspicious Partner"- admired first-times to see uncountable hugs, skinships, kisses and slept together, "You are too Much" - the title already told me all Yoo Jina, the bitch is too much, "Unni is Alive" very exciting revenges but the directing of the scenes is a lot of faults effects, "Circle" only 12 episodes but too much cerebral to think where and who Woo-jin now, "Look-out" is not much suspense but against justice, okay, "Queen for seven day" already known sad ending but seem 3 famous stars acting together, I just give a try, "Ruler Master of the Mask"- I think I need to drop soon, try to support them since all of them are young actors but I can't, can't convince me with their lovelines, "My sassy girl"- the first movie casted Ginna Jun forever the best, the lead actress is not sassy, she rude and rough princess suddenly turned tame and never fights for her lover, "Sea of the woman" - beginning scared every viewers because all the casts looked unpleasant in the 60's but need to invest your times until episode 50 onwards, very addicted to their history story, "All kinds of daughter-in-laws" - interested to watch new young casts here, actress and actors are beautiful people about fraternal twins which mother loves the elder more than younger because elder sis born weaker than the younger. Last and not last in my list is "Woman of Dignity" gives me all wrongs about the title, I thought strong and tough business women of today but they give me a greedy and lowlife woman try to invade into a wealthy family and all the rich ladies are bitchy, how could they train me to be a woman of dignity in today world? But I love Kim Hee Sun, so I have to support her no matters what? Sorry, too long comment.

Currently watching: Fight My Way and Suspicious Partner. These two are so good they make my Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (the day when the sub is out). Hee!

Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won are such great young actors. They are so natural delivering the role of Dong-man and Ae-ra. I couldn't imagined DM and AR is portrayed by other actors.

Wookie and Hyunii are also daebak. I not only love them together but also when they are with the team discussing particular case. I think Ji Chang-wook is good playing rom-com because his eyes gleams in close ups. Or is it just me?

Well, anyway. I just finished marathon-ing Chief Kim (thanks to @chingu for the recommendation) and I don't feel left out now. It was such a good show portraying how corrupt a huge corporation can be. But, there will still good people who brought justice although the process was not easy. I love how Dong Ha as Myung Seok. Although he scares me to death in SP.

So, now I'm open to any drama recommendation. I prefer the one that's finished so I don't have to face the torture every weekend waiting for it. Anyone?
