Jung Il-woo, Seo In-gook

• Noooooo! Jung Il-woo (Cinderella and the Four Knights) plans to make good on his announcement regarding military service at a fan meeting last week, and he’s indicated he will enlist in mid-December. [Herald]
• Not Seo In-gook (Shopping King Louis) too! While the date hasn’t been specified, in a recent interview Seo spoke about what he looks forward to in his thirties: “In art, in music, in everything, I think the more you experience, the more people can empathize with you. If I enter the army, I’ll experience so much.” He went on, “Of course, since [army life] isn’t something I’ve tried, I could make a mistake or it might not go very well, but I think there are lessons to be learned even from those mistakes.” [Seoul Economy]


Jo Jung-seok, Jin Ki-joo

• I’m loving the skillful usage of cameos in Legend of the Blue Sea and I’m especially looking forward to this next one: Jo Jung-seok (Jealousy Incarnate) will make an appearance to support his agency sunbae Jeon Ji-hyun in Episode 7. How fitting that his guest spot follows the appearance of Park Jin-joo (Nurse Oh to his Hwa-shin) in Episode 6. [Sports Chosun]
• Jin Ki-joo is following up her stint on Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo with another sageuk. She’s landed a supporting role in Ruler—Master of the Mask and will round out an otherwise solid cast in the drama about crown prince Yoo Seung-ho’s fight against a wealthy organization out to privatize the water supply. Ruler—Master of the Mask will air in the first half of the year on MBC. [Osen]
• Viewers were peeved that an Entourage kiss scene between Young-bin and So-hee’s characters circulated online but had been cut from the broadcast, accusing tvN of engaging in “noise marketing.” A tvN source explained that that wasn’t the intent—the scene in question had aired in China but the proper clearance hadn’t been obtained to release the footage in other simultaneous markets, and therefore it had been cut. Kim Nam-gil, Heo Jung-eun

• Kim Nam-gil’s promoting his new disaster film Pandora, in which he plays the youngest son of a family and an immature and unlikely hero. He was asked if there were similarities between he and his character Jae-hyuk, to which he responded: “He’s like me. (Laughs.) I love to complain and the staff would ask me, ‘You have lots of elder sisters, don’t you?’ [implying he’s been coddled by noonas] but I’m the eldest son. Haha. Everyone told me I could just behave like my true self [to portray the character].” [Osen]
• Oh My Geum-bi’s PD Kim Young-jo has praised his young star Heo Jung-eun, saying he knew within a second of meeting her that she was the right person for the job. Kim’s admitted to getting quite protective of Heo, and said with smiling eyes, “Jung-eun approaches the staff often and is lively and positive, but there are crew members who smoke and I was worried, so I prohibited smokers from touching her with hands that have held cigarettes.” [Xports News]
• More stills have been released for Man to Man, which is currently filming on location in Hungary. Park Hae-jin (Cheese in the Trap) interacts with foreign actors in a college campus setting, and he appears to be mid-presentation in one cut. The cast and crew of roughly 150 members have been in the country since mid-November, and despite the chilly conditions, they are hard at work, filming as much as possible in a short amount of time.
