Lee Jong-seok joins the cameo parade in Gogh’s Starry Night

This web drama is going to end up with more guest actors than regular cast members. Lee Jong-seok is the latest in a string of high-profile stars making special cameo appearances in the new web drama Gogh’s Starry Night, alongside Pinocchio co-stars Park Shin-hye and Yoon Kyun-sang. The star-studded cameo parade is due to the fact that it’s the first web series directed by PD Jo Soo-won of their past hit dramas Pinocchio and I Hear Your Voice; now that’s what I call using your Rolodex wisely.
The web series stars Kwon Yuri (Neighborhood Hero) and Kim Young-kwang (D-Day) in a cheery workplace romantic comedy. It’s a whole reunion party when you consider that Kim Young-kwang was in Pinocchio and Hot Blooded Youths with Lee Jong-seok, and Yuri was in Lee Jong-seok and Seo In-gook’s swimming movie No Breathing. The drama ALSO co-stars Pinocchio alum Shin Jae-ha (Page Turner) and School 2013 alum Lee Ji-hoon. It’s like six degrees of Lee Jong-seok up in here. With only one degree.
Yuri stars as Gogh, a 29-year-old employee at an advertising agency who wants to succeed in both her work life and her love life. She’s a bright character who’s not above talking smack about her boss behind his back, while Kim Young-kwang plays her surly team leader at work who secretly thinks she’s cute. Lee Ji-hoon plays her ex-boyfriend, who’s also a supervisor at work. Well I see how this could get sticky. They should just pull a Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-ki and make all the cameos exes — that’s always a good time.
Gogh’s Starry Night will be released online in June, and Lee Jong-seok will be starring in MBC drama W in July.

There are other actors whose their plastic surgeries are more than him, I'm curious why no one mentions them??! Being handsome is their job and I don't see any problem in doing PS. The point is that their acting should be good and IMO LJS's acting is really good! This is the most important factor for me to look forward to his projects.

I am being honest. His nose bothered me when I watched him in High Kick etc. But his acting won me over so I don't care much. I thought about him when on King of masked singer, someone guessed one of the singer could be him, and KGR said -but he got 30Million won (offer) from China, why such a big star would be in this program- something like that. I am amazed how popular he became (I thought he was meh in High Kick compared to Yoon Si-yoon and Jung Il-woo in previous High Kick).

Of course it was 6 billion won not 30 million which is more than 5 million US dollars! Yeah, I think most of his fan are captured by his acting not his looks, actually I didn't watch high kick but I really loved his acting in Doctor Stranger, I couldn't believe he is the same guy in IHYV! Even he himself is satisfied with some parts of his acting in DS the most in comparison to his other dramas!

His nose is the same in his baby pictures though. So I don't know what the big fuss is, I'm inclined to think he didn't have PS on his nose ... unless his baby pictures were photoshopped?

In my opinion as a fan, I think it's because he had plastic surgery on his nose twice. The first time was because he wanted his nose different (evident in his work prior to School 2013), and the second time was because he wanted his old nose back (School 2013 to present date). That's why his current nose has the same structure as his old nose in his childhood pictures, except it's shorter since they already took it if off the first time. So you're completely right, it looks really similar to his old nose. Like people make fun of his small nostrils and assume it's from surgery, but actually he always had tiny nostrils.
I don't care if he had plastic surgery or not, I just hate when people use it (and looks in general) to bring anyone down.

Tbh i don't really care much for the actual drama, but I might check it out for all the cameos and Lee jong suk. But who knows, I might stay.
Also what is up with the comment section these days? It is full of people who have nothing to comment but negativity and insults. Like the rude first comment here and some of the comments in the shin mina article. Wonder where they came from.

Just asking out of curiosity, I always wondered if stars are paid to guest star/cameo, or if they do it for free? It's only one or two scenes after all. Does anyone here know?

I think it might depend on if you have a prior relationship with the people in production. Those type of cameos are out of favors/loyalty/fun instead of money.
Jongsuk Shinhye Kyungsang's cameos here are likely for free since they have relationships with people working on it. Pinocchio seems like a tight-knit group (Kyungsang and Min Sungwook flew to China to visit Jongsuk right after they were done filming 6FD aww) and everyone loves the PD Soowon, so cameos aren't surprising.

That's my thought as well, that most of these cameos are done for free due to personal relationships with producers and actors, but I wasn't too sure. I remember when Yoon Eun Hye did a piece in the "Chronicles of a Blood Merchant" last year and the media made a big deal of how she was starring in her role for free, and I wondered why that was a big deal and weren't 'free' cameos/guest starring the norm due to personal relationships? Maybe it's the norm for dramas and not movies? I guess I wanted some clarity on that, so thanks for weighing in.

That is surprisingly similar to my journey into kdrama land. I went to a show for one actor and found another there, for whom I went to another drama, and in turn fell in love with another there. This kind of chain reaction is what is the most exciting part of korean dramas for me personally.
For me it was Lee Min Ho---> Kim Woo Bin---> Lee Jong Seok---> Seo In Guk---> Park Bo Gum.
And this is just a branch of the long tree. It includes actresses, character actors, etcetera.
Coming back to this web drama, it does seem interesting with so many cameos. Definitely a star studded affair.

I know it is pretty obvious :D Though there were many diversions in between. And I stayed with Lee Min Ho for a while, but then Heirs came along and Kim Woo Bin was just too interesting.

He is such an adorable puppy. Loved him in both I Can Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio. One of the shows I'm most looking forward to this year is W. I've started watching some web dramas and some of them are really cute and some of them are baaaad. Hopefully this will be a cute one because I plan to watch it (absolutely loved Voice and Pinocchio).

He's nice looking and I don't care how he got that way. This Comments section is usually nicer than this, I'd hate to see them add any filter apps because people are unloading their hate and anger here.
KDramas are a lovely diversion and pastime from my rather difficult career and it would be great if the comments were the same.

Well, jealousy and envy are pretty powerful emotions (I'm a psych RN) and they can ruin a lot of things. I hate to see in regards to an actor or celebrity.
