- It’s confirmed: Yoon Shi-yoon will be the newest cast member of KBS variety program 1 Night 2 Days! Throw the confetti, pop open that bottle of champagne, and dance around the living room! (But only if you want to.) This isn’t Yoon Shi-yoon’s first foray into the variety world — remember how he bumbled around adorably on Barefoot Friends? — but hopefully this will be more successful. He was discharged from military service in late January, and is also slated to star in the upcoming JTBC weekend drama Mirror of the Witch. He’s already begun filming 1N2D, and is scheduled to make his first appearance on the show later on this month. Way to make a splashy comeback, Yoon Shi-yoon! [Joongang Ilbo]
- Ji-soo’s career is on fire! He didn’t waste any time jumping back in front of the camera after wrapping up his recent three-episode drama, Page Turner. This time, he comes back to cement his rising star status by starring in a movie with Oh Jung-se (Vampire Detective), titled Cultwo Show — the movie is in celebration of the popular radio show Cultwo Show’s 10-year anniversary. - Park Shin-hye is set to make a cameo appearance on the new web drama Gogh, the Starry Night, helmed by director Jo Soo-won, who also directed Park Shin-hye’s 2014-15 hit, Pinocchio. It’s a rom-com web drama, which will also star Kim Young-kwang and Yuri of Girls Generation. The drama is set to air in China in June. [Sports Seoul]
- Lee Cho-hee has it down when it comes to playing the best friend/sidekick. She’s been cast in Hwang Jung-eum and Ryu Joon-Yeol’s new rom-com, Lucky Romance, playing Hwang Jung-eum’s BFF, and will also play the role of Ryu Joon-yeol’s right-hand man, who also plays an essential role in getting the two main characters together. - Enlistment is looming for Lee Jang-woo (Here Comes Oh Ja-ryong): He’ll begin his service on April 26 for 21 months of active duty. Best of luck to Lee Jang-woo, and return to us soon! [Sports Seoul]
- My anticipation for Jealousy Incarnate just jumped up a notch, with the charismatic Lee Sung-jae poised to join the already hot cast. If he signs on, he will play the landlord to Gong Hyo-jin’s character, who also happens to be a pasta chef. (Ooh… Pasta flashback!) Lee Sung-jae is considering the part favorably, so let’s keep our fingers crossed. [Osen]
- KBS finds a leading man for their new daily drama Bizarre Family (a working title) in Kim Jin-woo. Not too much has been revealed about the drama, but it’ll have elements of a rags-to-riches story about naive hopefuls from the countryside coming to the big city to realize their hopes and dreams. Kim Jin-woo plays an ambitious sales director at a home shopping company. Bizarre Family will premiere in May in Sweet Home, Sweet Honey’s timeslot. [TV Report]
- Jang Hyun-sung may be joining Park Shin-hye and Kim Rae-won in SBS’s new medical drama Doctors, as the head of neurosurgery. Jang’s string of evil portrayals (Signal, Vampire Prosecutor, Three Days…) may still have the audience feeling chills, but this time he aims to give the warm and fuzzies by playing kind-hearted neurosurgeon Kim Tae-ho. - Cue the awwws: On April 13, Han Ga-in’s agency, BH Entertainment, announced the birth of her baby girl with her husband, Yeon Jung-hoon. This is the birth of their first child together after having met on the set of Yellow Handkerchief in 2003; mother and baby are reportedly doing well. Congratulations to the lovely couple, and can’t wait to see some pictures of the new princess! (I don’t know about you, but I think they’d be an adorable addition to the cast of Return of Superman.) It'd be awesome if they joined the Return of Superman. I'm wayyy behind but I just "discovered" the show maybe two months ago, and I love it--I'm mostly obsessed with the toddler Daebak but another baby in the mix wouldn't hurt.

oh god i'm so used to seeing yun jung hoon as this scheming villain or just a messed up chara in general but him on return of superman??? ha they'd probably have to wait a while tho (families with babies who can't speak yet have been poorly received, like ki tae young and rohui)

I liked the original ROS cast the best.. when each part was about 4 different situations and kids were different ages.
Now its only about 4 babies growing up wuch is repetitive if the babies can't talk yet

Speaking of RoS - Jang Hyun-sung was such the dorky, but lovable dad.
Not only the SoDa siblings, but also the mischievous Beagle twins and their younger brother (Chairman) Daebak (who, while just starting to speak, is more interesting than many older kids).
There have been so many cute kids on the show - not just the cast members, but kids that they run into doing activities.

Hi sassychef! Good to see you again, it's hard to believe it's been five years.
SO EXCITED for Yoon Shi-yoon in 1N2D. Season 3 is the best season yet IMO, and I think he will be a perfect addition that will also bring something new to the table, with his personality quirks like constantly reading about everything before he tries it, and being super neat and organized. I loved his awkward and super nice variety personality in that horrible variety show a couple years ago with UEE and Kang Hodong. And I don't think I'll be watching MotW, so this way I can get my weekly YSY fix for the foreseeable future! :)

I love YSY and I'm a big fan 1N2D S3. With him joining, I hope his fans would watch for his sake and then 1N2D would gain more viewers internationally coz it's well loved in Korea. If you start watching, you'll love them all. Can't wait to see their interaction. Jun ho and Jong min's antics gonna give him abs from laughing like Jung Joon young said.

Nahhh, Jang Hyun Sung is never able to deceive me as evil or mean person. He is forever the loving, clumsy and funny dad to his lovely boys. A loving, loyal and respectful person to his wife, family and friends. The persona that I witnessed it in Return of Superman.

Yes, season 3 is different, I like that they're not too hung up on seniority and they all get along well, make fun of each other like real friends and stuff (How sweet is it when they washed and kissed each others' feet?). Also, I decide to trust Yoo PD's decision. He must have seen something in YSY. '1N2D is fun and touching' says JJY and I couldn't agree more.

Right now I can't see his character would match well with the current members but I hope he prove me wrong.
I always thought that it would be great if he join the show like Law Of The Jungle because from Barefoot Friends I can see that he's a hard worker, Law Of The Jungle would be a great fit for him as he don't really need to be "funny" or "entertaining".
It's great burden for him right now because korean netizen expect him to be the next Lee Seung Gi. I still remember that people were also expected Joo Won to be like Lee Seung Gi but he totally failed.

I've been trying to catch up on 1N2D (those sneaky dramas, making me forget all about it for a couple of months!) and just saw the episode with the two MMA fighters. The cast just integrated them so well, pretty much instantly, which is really saying something considering how stiff one of them were at first. I don't know anything about YSY's personality/variety character, but I'm really not worried. No matter what, I think this cast and crew will make it work, they're so great at making everyone feel at ease and relaxed enough to just be themselves and have fun.
(I'm kind of wishing they'd cast Kim Dong Hyun though, he was so cute and fun in that episode! He just fit right in. But maybe he's too much of a Jongmin for the dynamics to be right in the long haul ha.)

IM Happy il be seeing my screen favorite Yoon shi Yoon back i came from a long vacation and the first thing I know im looking for YSY news after his leave and what a great news of his come back. . . now i will monitor the drama, variety and movies he wl be in and make sure i won't miss a thing! whoaa worth to wait indeed!
