Kim So-hyun headlines tvN’s Bring It On, Ghost

YESSSSSSSS. I’m doing an embarrassing happy dance right now. I was already pretty stoked about the new tvN webtoon adaptation Bring It On, Ghost, but now that they’ve signed Kim So-hyun (Who Are You—School 2015) on to headline as said ghostie, I couldn’t be more excited. I just love her to pieces, and think she’ll kick ass (literally and figuratively) as a sassy schoolgirl ghost in the supernatural horror/rom-com.
It’s a cohabitation drama about a ghost and an exorcist; how’s that for opposites attract? The webtoon by Imins is about a 17-year-old boy who can see ghosts and decides to use his abilities to expel other people’s ghosts for a nominal fee. He puts up an ad online and takes gigs as an exorcist like it’s his after school job, and one day he meets a schoolgirl ghost who fights back. (And by fight, I mean physical knock-down brawls, comic-book-style.)
They seem intent on killing each other in that initial meeting, but during the fight they accidentally kiss, leading to a sudden tonal shift from action-suspense to romantic-comedy. The webtoon is very cute, despite the violence and the swearing (which will have to be toned way down for television anyway).
Kim So-hyun will play a 19-year-old senior who died in an accident just a day before her college entrance exam. She did nothing but study her whole life, so as a ghost she’s curious about all sorts of things. She binge-watches all the dramas she missed out on, and also becomes aware of boys for the first time. As she starts living with the exorcist boy, she’ll start getting involved in other ghosts’ lives and help them with their problems, helping them to pass on to the afterlife.
Writing is Kim Ji-sun, second writer on The Producers and I Live in Cheongdam-dong, and directing is PD Park Jun-hwa of the Let’s Eat and Rude Miss Young-ae franchises. I always did find both seasons of Let’s Eat to be unnecessarily creepy for a drama about food, so I think he’ll be really good at the spooky ghost elements. And casting for the male lead is still undecided. Um… so there’s this guy named Ji-soo…
Bring It On, Ghost is set to follow Oh Hae-young Again on Mondays and Tuesdays in July.

Honestly he gets all of these lead roles with ease since he's from JYP and a popular idol so I have a scary feeling that he's cast for this already.... I'm just seriously crossing my fingers that he's a supporting character. How am I suppose to believe that sohyun is 2 years older than him? And how does he look anywhere near 17?

Jisoo is older than Bogum. Bogum was born after Jisoo. Jisoo became an adult before Bogum O_O
No matter how many ways I think it, it doesn't compute. Probably because I first saw Bogum in Naeil's Cantabile, then I Remember You, and most recently in R88. Whereas Jisoo, I saw in one episode of Angry Mom, Sassy Go Go, and now Page Turner.
Jisoo is a baby. A baby who I just learned is older than me lol

Both Jisoo and Park Bogum are adult actor. 6 years apart. For example D.O. in Unforgettable almost got bash too when there's a talk of kiss scene, that turn out just umbrella kiss. Lol. And D.O. is in same age as PBG and Jisoo too...

Him and kim so hyun are only a year apart, she is older than him. He does lol. It is hard to believe he is the same little boy from Can You Hear My Heart. I saw part of that show three years ago and for some reason I expected him to still be a little boy.

btw, when i said he's young, i meant he's young IN GENERAL because he's a 00' liner (like woah, that blows my mind). KSH is young too, of course. i am just surprised because i have yet to see a bid for a leading actor that is that young lmao.
so yeah, i guess this feeds into your point of pairing older actors up with super young actresses which believe me, i feel the ick factor too and do believe young korean actresses should be acting opposite actors near their age range.

@Kayla: Yeah, they are both very young (I'm an adult-adult so they're like babies to me) but totally age-appropriate for each other. I really hope to see young actors acting together. Some people think it's creepy to want to see kid actors being romantic, but I think it's waaaay creepier to want to see a kid actor being romantic with an adult actor.
This whole trend is disappointing, if I'm going to see a high school student romance, I'd better see actual highschoolers, or at least two young adults that look like highschoolers. Enough with the creepiness!

somehow i'm envisioning kim seul-gi's ghost character from oh my ghostess, and imagining kim so-hyun playing a similar sort of character (though i imagine not quite so lusty), and i'm soooo for it.
so i guess this means kim so-hyun is finally fully graduating to lead roles? page turner definitely proved she's capable of it.

First of all, a big NO to Taecyeon.
I'd love to see her with Mingyu. If he's not available, maybe they can ask Shin Jae Ha, Baro or D.O. Jr from Got7 would look great with her, too. There are probably "undiscovered" idol actors from iKON, NCT U and the SM Rookies as well.
So there, TvN. I hope you don't ruin this by going with Taecyeon. But I'm so stoked for KSH!

there's this guy, who plays younger Moohyul in Six flying dragons. I think he work together wit KSH in MV. i watch him in movie Silenced wich staring Jung Yu Mi and Gong Yoo. I don't know his name, but their chemistry on bts MV is pretty good, and i think the ages might be similiar.
Or Kwak Dong Yeon, doesn't he say he is fans of KSH, or who else there?

@edward, as an actor he isn't an A lister for sure esp. compared too yoojung's previous costars like cha tae hyun, kim hee sun, kim hee ae, etc. who are megastars.. Hes still a relatively new actor. I like him a lot but if you think he's an A lister in dramaland that's a weird thought..
