2015 MBC Drama Awards

Do you think that if Ji Sung hadn’t been awarded the Daesang at the 2015 MBC Drama Awards, there’d have been actual mutiny? Not that there was much question that he would get it, but MBC has figured out ways to make head-scratcher decisions before.

Like, say, suddenly increasing the number of award categories and winners almost to double its usual amount, so as to give everybody something. I have nothing against giving deserving actors their recognition, but the drama list has already carved into three categories, and now you have actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, new actor, and new actress awards for each category.

Moreover, just in case that wasn’t enough, MBC also gave some people not two, not three, but as much as four separate acting awards. Was it really necessary to give Ji Sung both the Daesang and the Top Excellence award for the same drama? (Typically it’s understood that the Daesang winner is pulled from the Top Excellence pool, so somebody else wins Top Excellence.) It’s nuts! I mean, just take a look at that winners list. You might wanna take a deep breath before diving in (it’ll take a while to get through it all)…

I’m in total agreement that Ji Sung should have won the Daesang for Kill Me, Heal Me, although once you look at the dramas that were in contention for awards this year from MBC, it’s no wonder that Kill Me, Heal Me took home a boatload of trophies. Not that it wasn’t thoroughly entertaining, but MBC hasn’t had a ton of hits, so the same few names tended to dominate the winners list. Ji Sung told a story about how when he was a rookie, a director who’d hired him actually cornered him to say, “I’ve never seen an actor as bad as you.” Hard to believe, eh?

If ever there were the teeniest chance of someone else snatching up the Daesang this year, it would have to be Hwang Jung-eum, though I don’t think it would’ve happened since it seems like popular consensus that Ji Sung had it locked up. She wasn’t better than him, necessarily, but she did headline two of MBC’s biggest hits this year, Kill Me, Heal Me and She Was Pretty, so there was an argument for honoring that. But MBC just dealt with that by showering Hwang Jung-eum in awards—Top Excellence, Actor of the Year, Top 10 Star, and the Popularity Award.

It’s cute that the awards went with a funny pick for Best Couple, with Park Seo-joon and Ji Sung winning for their Kill Me, Heal Me dynamic, where Park Seo-joon was the object of adoration by one of Ji Sung’s personas, excitable teenage Yo-na, who tried at every turn to fondle and molest her oppa. I still giggle to recall her reaction when she finally stole that kiss she’d been angling for.

Park also got showered in awards, since he was also in (the same) two of MBC’s big hits. Ya gotta make your cash cows happy, right?

Kim Jung-eun was given a Top Excellence award for Make a Woman Cry, her weekend drama. She can wear clothes very well… but not this time, methinks. I mean, the dress could be worse, technically, but it doesn’t really do much for her, and adds a whole level of frump with the lacy, cape-y top that really didn’t need to be there.

Her Make a Woman Cry co-star Song Chang-eui also won an award (though really, who didn’t?) and looks crisp and fresh.

Hello, Jung Jin-young, award winner for currently airing melodrama Dazzling Temptation. Lookin’ good, ajusshi.

I did hear Jeon In-hwa mentioned (a little bit) as a Daesang possibility for her role in weekend drama My Daughter Geum Sa-wol, and she ended up taking Top Excellence instead.

Kang So-ra keeps turning out spot-on looks for awards ceremonies and red carpet events. I suppose the gown could have a little more interesting design work (particularly the bottom half), but the overall effect is eye-catching and lovely. She’s definitely the best of the red gowns of the night (of which there were several).

I suppose it’s a little odd to see her on the award roster for Warm and Cozy (which earned her an Excellence award), but (1) there were some slim pickins and (2) she really did make that drama watchable by giving her character a heart and relatable feelings when everything else was frustrating and illogical.

Yoo Yeon-seok was one of those frustrating and illogical things in Warm and Cozy, and while his acting was far better than the character, I’m not about to cry that he was robbed of any awards for it. I’m just glad to see him here, looking happy and handsome.

Their Warm and Cozy co-star Kim Hee-jung was also pretty solid in that show, but she was also in a much more successful MBC production this year, My Daughter Geum Sa-wol.

Speaking of which, here’s My Daughter Geum Sa-wol’s lead, Baek Jin-hee, looking very pretty and also a little predictable. She really, really likes the white formalwear for awards shows, but at least she looks lovely in them.

Song Ha-yoon looks a little concerned in most of her photos. Do you think it’s because it totally looks like she and Baek Jin-hee ordered gowns from the same dressmaker, except he ran out of flowers and lace for Song Ha-yoon’s dress and just stopped detailing it? It’s doubly funny since Song Ha-yoon and Baek Jin-hee are co-stars on My Daughter Geum Sa-wol, which is currently airing. Awk-ward!

Park Se-young is another My Daughter Geum Sa-wol castmate (there are a ton of them. Her dress kind of reminds me of a stiffly uncomfortable prom dress, but it does offer us one of the only pops of color of the night, and the only one that’s not white, black, or red. Extra points just for that.

I wouldn’t call Yoon Hyun-min a new actor, but as we know, these award designations are often fluid and hazy. And this is his first outing with MBC, in My Daughter Geum Sa-wol.

Do Sang-woo is also from My Daughter Geum Sa-wol, though to me he’s still the jerky, no-bullshit director from Ex-Girlfriend Club. He does monochrome and looks very tall.

Okay, so here’s the thing. Kim Yoo-jung (Angry Mom) is suuuuper beautiful. She looks radiant and youthful. But that doesn’t mean her style choice is a winner, because it’s just so heavy and grim with all that black, and all the long black hair to boot. It’s not chic enough to be edgy, and not weird enough to be gothic.

Aww, Ji-soo (Angry Mom), you look like a grown-up little boy. He’s adorable.

I love this dress on Angry Mom’s Lizzy! It’s sweet, flirty, and super-cute with the heart cut-out in the back. She looks fantastic and fresh, and now I’m remembering how I wanted all of her lip colors in that drama. Product placement works, y’all!

Kim Hee-won, like many a veteran character actor, has had a busy year with drama project after drama project. He’s here for Angry Mom, where he infuriated and scared me. He followed that with Let’s Eat 2 where he was funny and a little pathetic, and then topped it off with Awl, where I found him both infuriating and a little pathetic. I love to hate this guy.

Oh, honey, no.

Okay, I like that Lee Yubi (Scholar Who Walks the Night) tries different things, fashion-wise, and doesn’t go for the cookie-cutter starlet types of looks, which are often very safe and conservative. On the other hand, they also don’t look like you took out your grandma’s silk nightie, added glittery red stripper platforms, and tried to make a fashion statement out of it. I’m not actually averse to the idea of the dress, but it’s about three sizes too big and she’s not rocking the confidence or bravado to quite pull it off.

I enjoy the strong pattern worn by Lee Soo-hyuk (Scholar Who Walks the Night), dizzying though it may be. I’ll just avoid that problem by staring at his face instead. Which is so hard, obviously.

More red! This time it’s on Han Sun-hwa of Rosy Lovers, who looks chic and put-together. I’m not excited by the dress, necessarily, but she looks good, so it’s done its job.

I think Go Woo-ri (Queen’s Flower) has the lesser version of that dress—kind of similar in silhouette, but not as sophisticated. I’m not a fan of that red mesh at the top. Be strapless or don’t! Make up your mind!

On the other hand, here’s Kim Sung-ryung, also of weekend series Queen’s Flower, and she owns it. The red carpet, the attitude, the everything. This is how you manage bold, sexy, and sophisticated at the same time.

Here’s her Queen’s Flower co-star Yoon Park (soon to be seen in SBS’s body-possessing drama Please Come Back, Ajusshi):

Sure, this look is a bit nuts, but Hwang Seok-jung played a flamboyant fashionista in She Was Pretty (she’s here with her co-star Ahn Se-ha, who played her reporter nephew in that) and this look is exactly The Most kind of thing you’d expect of her character.

So now we’re on to She Was Pretty castmates, with Shin Dong-mi looking elegant in asymmetrical white.

Shin Hye-sun and Park Yoo-hwan played a side couple in Pretty, and came to the awards together. I really don’t think her look is very flattering on her—the hair, the glittery skirt—which is too bad since I thought she was rather adorably twee in Oh My Ghostess as Jo Jung-seok’s little sister.

One upside to divvying up all the awards into so many categories is that a lot more veterans get a chance to take home trophies, like Cha Hwa-yeon (Mom)…

…and Kim Su-mi (who was only intended to cameo in Legendary Witches, and thanked the viewers in her acceptance speech for asking for her to return, because she was then upgraded to series regular)…

….and Lee Bo-hee (Apgujeong Baek-ya).

Dohee is one of many ladies wearing white (there’s always a large white contingent, though I’m always hopeful that the trend will be bucked), and she arrived with her Mom co-stars, Lee Moon-shik (who won a supporting actor award) and Choi Ye-seul.

Im Shi-wan hasn’t had any dramas this year, but it makes sense he’d be here since he did have a lead role in 2014’s reunited-brothers melodrama Triangle, which got him a new actor award last year.

Sooyoung, likewise, had an MBC drama last year (My Spring Days) but not this year. I don’t think the cut of this gown is great, but I do love the intricate beading and champagne-gold sheen.

Park Hana, another woman in white, played the titular Baek-ya character in daily drama Apgujeong Baek-ya (also called Apgujeong Midnight Sun), and arrived with her co-star Kang Eun-tak. They both won new actor/actress awards for the series.

I love Jang Young-nam (Dazzling Temptation), who’s got amazing range and doesn’t always get to make the most of it in her drama roles. Despite the sea of white, I do like this beaded sheath gown on her.

Go Sung-hee, on the other hand, meh. I mean that about the dress, which doesn’t seem to flatter her much, though I suppose it’s my general feeling on her acting as a whole. She did not have an MBC drama this year, but starred in last year’s Records of a Night Watchman. (She had a few projects on other stations in 2015, though, Spy and My Beautiful Bride.)

Jung Hye-sung does have that ingenue thing going on, but it suits her and I’ve noticed her popping up everywhere all of a sudden, so maybe she’s about to break out, or at least step up to the next level. She’s currently in the legal thriller Remember—Son’s War on SBS, has a small background part in KBS’s Oh My Venus, and was in MBC’s daily drama A Daughter Just Like You.

And here’s her Daughter Just Like You castmate Kang Sung-min. I’m not the only one who finds brown formalwear odd, right?

Y’know, if you had to describe this dress and the one above in words, they’d share a lot of the same descriptors, and yet Jin Ye-sol (Great First Wives) looks like she’s literally on her way to the altar. It’s something right out of a bridal catalogue. Maybe from the ’80s?

I have to say I’m digging this ensemble on Oh Hyun-kyung (Legendary Witches), who makes a turtleneck and a shiny floral pattern look chic and edgy.

This… is an unfortunate color pairing, right? Actually, it’s less the pairing and more that Shin Dong-yub somehow decided that puke color on the red carpet would be just the thing to wear while accompanying a young starlet, Lee Sung-kyung (of Queen’s Flower and the upcoming Cheese in the Trap).

Kiddos! Sometimes they outshine the adults, either on the acting front or the fashion front, and definitely on the cuteness front. Kal So-won pulled double-duty for MBC this year in My Daughter Geum Sa-wol and Dazzling Temptation, and looks super cute in her pink dress and Mary Janes. Below is Yang Han-yeol, Park Seo-joon’s sweet childhood counterpart in She Was Pretty, and Kim Ji-young from last year’s big hit, Jang Bori Is Here.

Okay, so first of all, Thank You MBC for finally give the Daesang to Ji Sung! Man, he's more than deserved to get the Daesang! Like DB's Editor Picks say, it's hard enough to pull off 1 character, nevermind 7 characters and Ji Sung did a great job portraying all of them!!
I'm not always a fan of MBC Drama Awards because they screwed up more than they got it right, but at least this year I can safely say I'm satisfied with the winners' list. Though no Jun Ki (although he won) and Ji Soo didn't win anything.

Secondly, I swear it's actually more colorful red carpet than usual... I'm tired to just see whites and (sometimes) black gowns. So having white, red and black for the ladies are good enough. I love Sooyoung's and Hwang Jung Eum's dresses. So pretty on them!

Third, Park Seo Joon and Ji Sung win Best Couple!!!! OMG Ahn Yona and Oh Ri On are riot in Kill Me Heal Me!!! So damn funny when they both perplexed and surprised when the Best Couple announced. Netizens must really love them... Hahahaa

Overall, it's definitely great year for Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon. So happy for them!!

oh no, I wish Ji-soo had won something for Angry Mom - he came out of literally nowhere and stole the show (and in the process, became the db house puppy - not an easy feat!).

I hope his 2016 dramas do well. Yes, even the Bu Bu Jing Xin remake, though I'm not optimistic about any Chinese-to-Korean remake, ever.

I wish Ji Soo had won Rookie Award or something (not that Lee Soo Hyuk is undeserving, because Gwi wouldn't be the same if it was not LSH played the character). Poor puppy deserved something after his breakout performance in Angry Mom, especially considering that was really his 1st drama, right?
I hope tonight he will get rookie award or anything at KBS.

Considering how low Sassy Go Go's ratings were, I don't know if KBS will give its stars anything, though god knows they deserve it :(

(and the same goes for I Remember You. Great performances, but low ratings don't bode well for actually getting an award)

If it were for MBC to decide they would just give it the the one whose drama had the highest ratings. Viewer's choice were more accurate anyway. All the nominees were really good so I thought it was pretty fair tbh.

Yeah actually none of the Daesang nominees is bad actor. They're veterans and have done tons of dramas before. But of course viewers would choose Ji Sung anyway considering he was snubbed in other award shows before this.

I'm so glad that KMHM was showered with love (13 awards if you count each actor's awards and Best Drama) but I do wish that Angry Mom had gotten some as well. But that look on Jisung's face when he won that Daesang was everything. I legit cried with Hwang Jungeum. Btw, not sure if anyone's seen the entire awards ceremony but I do have translations of all the speeches on my blog with most of the accompanying videos if anyone's interested! unstoppablesun.com/2015/12/30/mbc-drama-awards-2015/

As a fan of Kill Me, Heal Me, I'll say that as fabulous as Ji Sung was (yay for his Daesang!), I don't think his performance would've been the same without Hwang Jung-eum or Park Seo-joon playing opposite him, so kudos to all of their deserved recognition. I remember watching the press conference for Kill Me, Heal Me, and HJE said that they all realized the potential for Ji Sung to give the performance of his lifetime and so they were going to do their best to support him. I just love the show of camaraderie and support between those three actors. So I am happy ?

The Shin Se Gi - Oh Ri Jin tie rap was priceless, and I was amazed how they can respond instantly like they know each other for 20 years, when it was just about 2 years they had been friends. That was twins-level telepathy.

FINALLY!!!!! I was just about tired of seeing Ji Sung get passed over for Daesangs, I could get him losing to Lee Sung-min for Misaeng or Yoo Joon-sang for Heard It Through the Grapevine, but nothing else.

As for the fashion, the less said the better. Park Se-young looks like she time-travelled straight from the 1980s, hideous shoulder pads/ruching/shiny fabric and all. And Lee Yubi.....I appreciate that she tends to avoid the bridal white looks, but pulling granny's fancy nightie over your head is not the way to go! Not even the red can save it, do her stylists hate her or something?

The only look I actually like, is on Kang Sora. It's a bit simple but the colour stands out and she wears it beautifully - looks like she belongs on the cover of a fairytale book (and I hope to god 2016 brings her a better and more successful project than Lukewarm & Dozy).

Oh, and wow, full shots vs. 3/4 or knees-up shots make a big difference. I loved Kim Yoo-Jung's dress when I thought it stopped just beyond her knees. The cut is cute. But at the full length it looks positively funereal. Same with Lee Yu Bi's dress—liked it in a 3/4s shot, looked like a coat hanging on a rack in a full shot. Alas.

I love Oh Hyun Kyung's and Lee Sung Kyung's looks. Especially the latter—that's a difficult color to pull off, but she looks gorgeous and head-turning.

All those awards, yet not one for Ji Soo or Choi Si Won? MBC, don't you know Bok Dongie was the reason Angry Mom was one of the most talked about dramas this year and Shin Hyuk was what started the She Was Pretty syndrome? If Choi Si Won being away in the army was their excuse, his panty pusher Park Seo Joon could have accepted the award on his behalf.

I am just happy they didn't hand out two Daesangs. Hwang Jung Eum may be a Ratings Queen, but Ji Sung deserves the Daesang all to himself (er, with his seven personalities). Another actor should have had a chance at the Top Excellence, though.

Congrats to Yo Na for winning Best Couple with her oppa, and to Yang Han Yeol for winning Child Actor. I still wish Little Sung Joon had grown up to be just as sweet.

Jung Hye Sung really is everywhere lately. I found her super cute in Blood, but frankly, she does not deserve a role as big as Yeo Kyung in Remember. The director in Ji Sung's anecdote obviously have not seen many actors.

SooYoung's dress is my favorite of the night, and Lizzy's dress is so Lizzy.

FINALLY! Really happy for Ji Sung. He's looking pretty sharp too, in spite of having more fluff in his hair do than suits my taste.

I'm glad Hwang Jung=Eum won too - her performance at KMHM, once she stopped the screeching, was really powerful. The scene that really stuck in my mind, was when she gifted the name. It was really moving.

I'm not sure about the dress though - seems like a two parter - sweetheart neckline bride in the front, Victoria harlot at the back. Speaking of which, why is white such a trend? It seems most Korean awards are awash with white. Is it to make them look young and virginal? Kim Jung-eun's dress is odd - that top bit looks like it's taken off the top section of a curtain pelmet.

Actually, there are some pretty odd fashion choices - not odd interesting, just odd odd. Ji Soo looks cute - those lapels could be thinner though - they look air like he decided to wear his cumber band as a scarf. And that jacket makes it feel like Lee Soo Hyuk is about to materialise in my living room. Which isn't a bad thing if he's not in Gwi mode.

about Hwang Jung Eum: my favorite moments of her in KMHM were one with Yo Sub when he told her he would not attempt anything and when her eyes filled with tears, and when she came to Do Hyuns´ house and finds Se Gi sitting on the floor and their conversation. and when Do Hyun returns and she cries that she thought he´d never return

Soo... What is the difference between top excellence, excellence and best awards?
I am confused.....

Top excellence is considered to be slightly better than excellence. It's given to those that are "more" deserving. Sometimes, awards are given out based on the popularity of the drama.

YES to Ji Sung!!!!!!
But with awards going to practically everybody I'm really stunned nothing was given to Choi Siwon. Next to Ji Sung, Siwon hands-down stole She Was Pretty.

+1 Naver did the survey (participated by about 330,000 people-Hope I read it right) on 'Who is The most impressive character this year' and Sin Se-ki (JiSung) was No. 1 with 25% votes.

"a director who’d hired him actually cornered him to say, “I’ve never seen an actor as bad as you.” -I wonder that was Delicious Proposal: He was male lead's friend and it had a scene in a convenient store. That show has Kwon Sang-woo, Ji Sung, Son Ye-jin when they were starting out then (could be more).

Kim Jung-Eun ....was mistaken for a table an covered with a tablecloth. I am surprised there is no wine glass on her head. would look very rococo.

and Lee Soo Hyuk is starung at the camera like: "Loook at my jacket....be hypnotized....so I can sink my teeth in ...your camera."

I don´t care if there were a lot of awards, you could feel that everyone really especially wanted to say a "thank you" to Ji Sung, and I am really happy for him (and Perry, Yo Na, Se Gi, Do Hyun, Yo Sub...)
and I of course knew he would win best couple with Park Seo Joon, and they knew what was coming as well, but their reaction was still like, oh my god, it is really happening, bro, well, soldier through, soldier though.
#TeamYoNa won, I guess. Fighting with a teenage girl is pointless.

With the exception of Oh Hyun-kyung, there is a massive style problem going on for this show. **Everyone** needs to hire a stylist!

Oh my goodness, I don't even care if the MBC awards was a little weird in giving awards for everyone, as long as Ji Sung was given some recognition for his characters! I mean come on, he had to get SOMETHING!! It would have been totally unfair if he was given a small award! Nope, I don't even care that he got Daesang and Excellence, he got it! FINALLY!!!!!

And omg! When I saw that he and

Oops, I accidentally sent it before I was done.

Anyways, when I saw that Ji Sung and Park Seo Joon won the Best Couple Award I didn't believe it, but when I saw the pic of them together, I just died!! That is awesome that MBC did that! Especially cause I was NOT expecting that! That was pretty awesome of them.

And yes Editor Chief of Most defintely dressed like her character which made me die, again!
And Kim Yoo Jung, you are a very pretty, young girl, dress like one!! And aw, that Ji Soo didn't win anything. N

Seriously? Again?
I think something is wrong with me today..

ANYways, I'm just sad Ji Soo didn't get anything but I'm happy that Angry Mom got some awards to represent it!! I just loved that drama, despite being a fairly dark drama.

But thank you MBC for finally listening to us fans when it came to giving Ji Sung an award. He deserved it! And I'm glad that Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon won awards for their performances too. they deserved it.
I guess there is no need anymore to send an award from us now... Or........... :)

What makes me sad is why no love for siwon and jisoo??? I wish both won something because i watched Angry mom and she was pretty for these two only.

I think part of the awards is to butter up the celebrities so they continue to work with MBC. lol Jisoo is too new so they are not nervous at snubbing him and Siwon is in the military so the whole no show no award still works.

happy for ji-sung! what a great way to end the year—successful drama, tons of new fans, and a new baby to boot :) he seems like such a sweet person, if his personality on three meals was anything to go by.

cutie yang han-yeol gave the BEST acceptance speech. "i wanted to thank the writer—what's the name?....... anyways." LOL he had me in stitches, and the audience too. he was so cute and unaffected and natural through it all. so many of these actor kids are terribly affected and unnatural that it's uncomfortable to watch them, but he was a breath of fresh air.

lee sung-kyung was my favorite look. loved how she wore her rosy beaded dress. she didn't look overly girly or conservative—just looked cool. plus i thought she did a great job MCing. she was just naturally confident, didn't overdo it, and again, had none of that overly girlish affectation that so many korean actresses put on.

i actually liked kim jung-eun's dress—maybe not the color palette, but i loved the style and i thought she looked nice in it. i just would have chosen different colors instead of blue and black, and maybe a sheer mesh instead of lace... but i thought there were far worse looks!

kang sora was a very close number two for me after lee sung-kyung. just loved how she looked. she killed the dress. i'm a big fan of red dresses on red carpets too—when done right, it can do really flattering things for the wearer. for some reason, red on red carpets really tends to pop. more so than white or other colors.

i wish korean awards shows would do these things right. too many awards dilutes the value of the awards being given... and i'm sure the people receiving these extra awards know why they're being given, which doesn't make them feel any more special.

Finally, the mom and the dad has daesang,
Ji sung and Lee Bo Yong deserve it and it just feel good to see him getting one after all these years,
he's been in not-so-good drama but I really think he is Daesang worthy
glad that park seo joon got recognize, he is good with what he got, like he is doing justice for his character and he can fly higher,
HJE get an awards, aaah it's nice to see her getting the fruit of her work, she's been working almost every time I look her up in the news
Btw I still hope Daesang for Kim Nam Gil, Okay my Bidam heart is still there,
and Oscar for Leo, maybe with the bear too, Happy early New Year,
Damn, Lee Soo hyuk, Park Seo Joon, Yoo Yeon Seok, Ji Sung, my eyes heal before this year end

First of all, Ji Sung deserved to win. Congratulations to him.
Hwang Jung-Eum, amazing. Congratulations to her. 2015 was really her year.

Second, I think, in my opinion, Oh Hyun-kyung is the best-dressed of the night. She different but was really elegant in her dress. It was stylish, regal and becomes of her. She was beautiful.

Third, I really wished Angry Mom cast won more awards. Ji Soo deserved to win the Rookie Award. Lee Jun ki should gotten an excellence award for his effort in his drama. But all in all, great awards night!

My personal preference will be lee sung kyung dress ☺

Can u imagine if MBC did not give him the Best Actor and HJE won the Daesang? Us fans would boycott MBC ?

With so many awards it makes almost all the other awards but Daesang and best drama pointless. It's like they didn't want to upset anyone so just gave a boatload of awards to everyone.

But either way, so happy Ji Sung won and KMHM. I am currently rewatching KMHM with my Mom and brother who are also both really enjoying it. Ji Sung does such a good job in it. It's funny though because my Mom didn't think Ji Sung did a good job in Protect The Boss (I personally think he did a great job) but she is amazed at his acting chops in KMHM.

Ji Sung was absolutely brilliant in Protect the boss, even in his alone scenes he used the whole frame, he was literally all over the screen and it was fully satisfying. He is an actor who can make the most of being trapped in a box and he´ll act the hell out of it. no partners necessary, just a shoe and a cardboard cutout.

He was absolutely amazing in PTB. The acting, clothes, hairdo and even the backpacks was absolute perfection to fit his role as a man with strict father who lost mom and Hyung and developed agoraphobia. He is the epitome of 100% in any role that is given to him.

I've observed that while Korean male celebrities are more willing to experiment in fashion as opposed to their western counterparts, the female celebrities are always so lackluster on the red carpet. Their street fashion and drama fashion are always perfect, but the award fashion definitely lacks the pizzazz of the Oscars. While still pretty, I feel like the outfits aren't jaw dropping. Just wondering why the actresses always stick to red, white, and black. Is Korea very strict about such things? The necklines are always pretty similar too. Also, does Korea not emphasize the couture/designer aspect of the red carpet? I never see listings of the designers, and many dresses have that bridal or prom quality.
