Healer: Episode 16

Is that the “oh shit” face you’re wearing right now? Because it’s mountain after mountain for our Healer, whose every step forward is dogged by setbacks that land him in some new kind of peril at every turn. On the upside, the Scooby gang is solidifying and gaining members, and I absolutely love that. On the downside, all that new peril I just mentioned.

EPISODE 16 RECAP

Young-shin gets picked up by Moon-shik, thinking he’s taking her to meet his wife for an interview. She seems uneasy, but there’s no reason for her to refuse, so off she goes.

Jung-hoo locates the home of an ex-detective, intent on tracking down what happened to his father’s missing police statement. The man seems locked inside his head as he plays cards alone, and his daughter explains that he doesn’t speak. Jung-hoo sits down anyway and tries to ask questions about the 1992 case.

He finally gets his attention by playing a turn in the card game, which gets a reaction from the ex-officer, and Jung-hoo presses him to talk about the old case. Particularly the statement he took from the suspect named Seo Joon-seok.

The officer repeats that name, then says that “we” had to quit the force because of him. The daughter confirms, remembering being evicted from home in 1992, and provides the name of the other officer who met a similar fate: Park Dong-chul.

Jung-hoo gives the name to Min-ja to track down. She grumps that she’s not a machine who just spits out answers, to which he retorts that she pretty much is. Then she spots something on her map that sets her on alert.

She calls Moon-ho just as he arrives at the newspaper and hears that Young-shin scored the interview with Myung-hee after all. Ajumma informs him that Young-shin’s cell phone is being tracked, and she’s just arrived “at a place I don’t much care for.” She decided against informing Jung-hoo first, predicting that he’d go charging in.

Moon-shik takes Young-shin to Jeil Newspaper, and his string of praise for her recent work is puzzling, since her recent work stained his name and all. She explains having an interview scheduled, but Moon-shik says that he has already informed his wife of its cancellation. Over at the house, Myung-hee prepares freshly baked cookies and deflates when her housekeeper gives her the message.

He asks Young-shin not to meet his wife just yet, and explains that he has heard that there are dangerous people in Young-shin’s orbit. Well technically that’s not a lie if he’s talking about himself, but he specifically drops the name Seo Jung-hoo. When she pretends not to understand, he muses that “maybe only Moon-ho knows the relationship.”

Moon-shik takes out that old photo and identifies himself and his wife, and watches her reaction carefully as he points out Seo Joon-seok. He also points to Teacher and says he recently died, which is enough for Young-shin to start connecting dots in her head, though she does a good job of keeping a poker face.

Moon-shik describes meeting Teacher recently, who’d said he’d turned Jung-hoo into the Healer. Teacher at least stopped at reasonable limits, but Jung-hoo, that kid… well, he’s “started to cross the line.”

Young-shin asks plainly what she’s doing here. Moon-shik replies that his brother has joined forces with the Healer to oppose him, and he’s been told that Young-shin is quite close with Moon-ho. So he asks for her help in stopping them, “before they commit even bigger crimes.”

He calls in a certain Manager Ahn to brief her, saying she has to know the full story in order to join their side. Manager Ahn handles special investigations for Jeil Newspaper and introduces her to the Healer investigation team, and while she doesn’t place a great deal of stock in their accounting of Healer’s crimes, for now she has to sit through it.

Moon-ho charges into his brother’s office and warns Moon-shik to mess with him, not the kids. Moon-shik replies that he’s going to help the kids: He’ll turn Young-shin into a good reporter, and get Jung-hoo a good lawyer so he can turn himself in and be reintroduced to society. He has the gall to say he’s doing it “because I am their fathers’ friend.” You mean like Teacher said before you had him killed?

It’s so absurd that Moon-ho can only laugh incredulously in his face.

Young-shin practically rolls her eyes while the Jeil team presents the Healer as a loose cannon and cold-blooded killer. She fidgets impatiently, knowing the full story, but her old panic response starts to kick in—her breathing grows labored and her vision blurs. Is it from seeing Jung-ho’s photograph on he board?

The Jeil team gets a phone call from the ex-officer’s daughter, reporting dutifully that somebody came by asking after Seo Joon-seok. As instructed, she supplied the name Park Dong-chul. The Jeil employee informs Manager Ahn that their bait was taken.

Young-shin approaches the board and reaches a shaking hand out to the (mostly obscured) photo of Jung-hoo. She’s still rattled when she leaves the meeting, which is when Moon-ho finds her.

As they head to the car, Young-shin fills Moon-ho in on what his brother said about Jung-hoo being the Healer and working against him. Moon-ho readily confirms that he’s working with Jung-hoo.

But the strange meeting has made her start questioning things that don’t make sense—like why such an important person as Moon-shik would personally come to give her a ride, and why Moon-ho would do the same. It’s suspicious enough that when he approaches, she involuntarily steps back. He clocks her reaction and stops, while she asks him about the piece of fingernail he hired Healer to take from her. Why?

Moon-ho sees that there’s no more delaying and says that the time has come to tell her. Without further ado, he reveals, “Your biological mother is alive.” Oh phew. I was so nervous that he’d find yet more excuses to prolong the discovery.

Her first reaction is to laugh, but it soon becomes clear that he’s not joking as he explains that Myung-hee is her birth mother. “And your name is Oh Ji-an.”

He apologizes for not saying so earlier, admitting, “I was afraid, so I kept pushing it back.”

Young-shin struggles to take this in, blinking back tears. When Moon-ho steps toward her, again she backs away instinctively.

Ajumma traces ex-cop Park Dong-chul to a seedy club, and the whole thing leaves both her and Jung-hoo with an uneasy feeling. She thinks it’s too easy, and while he agrees, he decides to see the lead through: “I’ll have to turn a trap into a road.”

Jung-hoo steps inside and asks for Park Dong-chul, which prompts the employee and the club manager to whisper and stare at Jung-hoo. She quietly makes a phone call and Jung-hoo is told to wait. This could not look more suspicious if they tried.

At home, Dad casts worried looks at Young-shin’s bedroom, not sure how to approach her. In the aftermath of all this news exploding in her face, she has retreated to a corner of her room, huddling under a curtain. She reaches for her phone.

Jung-hoo lounges around the club until two thugs arrive to take care of him. Before they can get down to it, Young-shin calls, and he carries on a normal conversation with her while taking down his two attackers, barely even paying them any heed.

At first he doesn’t catch on to her strange mood when she tells him of meeting Moon-shik, who knows he’s the Healer. But gradually he clues in that something’s wrong; her voice is dull and her gaze vacant as recounts Moon-shik’s warnings that Jung-hoo is dangerous.

Then she mentions hearing from Moon-ho about her birth mother, surprising Jung-hoo so much that a thug sneaks in a punch to the face. He tells her he’ll call back, then quickly takes down his attacker and demands Park Dong-chul’s information from the scared club manager.

Jung-hoo slips outside just before the thug’s reinforcements arrive. He sticks a tracker on the vehicle, then tells ajumma to find out who these guys are—they’re not Double S guards.

That question gets answered for us when Jeil’s Manager Ahn issues instructions to bring Jung-hoo in on the Elder’s orders.

When Jung-hoo returns Young-shin’s call, however, she ignores the phone. Slumping to the ground listlessly, she picks up a photo of herself as a child with her mother. In flashback, we see Moon-ho providing her with documents and an explanation:

In contrast with her current condition, Young-shin is brusque and calm as she listens to Moon-ho describe the accident in 1992. He hands over Myung-hee’s hospital records, which list epileptic fits, brain injury, and depression; stress is a particular trigger. Moon-ho describes possible further damage if the oxygen supply is cut off to her brain, or even death.

Despite improvements over the years, Myung-hee can’t control her reactions to mention of Ji-an: “Your death memorial and your birthday—it’s like she lives just for those two days a year.”

He asks if she remembers anything, but she says dully that the only childhood memories she has are of standing by the highway with cars whizzing by.

Moon-ho asks her to understand that he didn’t tell her because he wanted to keep her mother alive. She replies that it’s easy to understand that she can’t tell Myung-hee she’s her daughter, but asks why he didn’t at least tell her.

In the present, Dad enters Young-shin’s room and sees her lying on the ground, ignoring the phone. Locked in flashback, Young-shin asks Moon-ho why she was abandoned. He says she was lost, then supposedly dead. Then when he admits to preventing Jung-hoo from telling her, she says with a bitter smile, “He wasn’t on my side then, Seo Jung-hoo.”

He has more to explain, but she shuts him down here, saying she’ll handle it herself. “Because you can’t trust me?” he asks. She says yes, then tells him that her name is Chae Young-shin, not that other one.

Now in her bedroom, Young-shin seems like she’s ready to burrow into bed forever, brooding—until suddenly she’s not. She shakes her head clear, gets out of bed, and starts picking up the mess. Aw, she’s back. Way to go, you.

Then one document catches her eye, and the name crashes into her brain: Oh Gil-han. The friend killed by Jung-hoo’s father. She rears back in horror.

At the bustling Someday office, the constant ringing of the phone has Reporter Yeo so on edge that he hilariously snaps that Chae Young-shin has disappeared on her beleaguered team and probably got dumped. HA. But since it was Myung-hee calling, she hangs up in disappointment.

She calls Moon-ho to ask about Young-shin, wondering about the interview. Moon-ho tamps down his own emotion as he says that Young-shin is dealing with a difficult personal issue, so asking to meet her would be “cruel.” Myung-hee scoffs at his exaggeration, but she gets the point.

Jung-hoo charges into the cafe to see Young-shin, slipping past Dad when he tries to insist on a talk. Upon his entrance, Young-shin freezes up to see him, but he just envelops her in a relieved hug, saying he was worried. She starts to return the hug, but drops her hand at the last moment.

He picks up on her strange mood, asking if she’s upset because he didn’t tell her about her mother. When she shakes her head no, he encourages her to get angry with him. She says that he did nothing wrong, which isn’t convincing to his ears, and he asks why she won’t look at him.

Then she starts crying, and he looks for something to say, mentioning how Moon-ho’s not such a bad guy for accepting the beating he delivered for lying. When he says he met Myung-hee, she asks, “She met you, and she was okay?” It’s a weird thing to say, and now Jung-hoo is sure something’s up. Grabbing the papers from her, he sees her father’s name and realizes, “It was this? It was about my father and your father?”

He admits that he knew but couldn’t tell her, “Because I was afraid you’d be like this.” She says that it doesn’t matter, but he points out that her reaction says otherwise. And when he steps toward her, she backs away. Ah, that hurts. You can see that she’s conflicted with herself for reacting this way, but she can’t help it.

He steps back to give her space and explains that he was looking for evidence to clear his father of the crime, and that he was going to tell her after he’d found it. With that, he quietly exits.

But moments later, Young-shin flies downstairs to stop him before he leaves. She entreats, “You have to find it and come back.” Oh thank goodness she isn’t giving up so easily. He nods with a small smile, “Okay.”

And then she adds, “Even if you don’t find it, come back.” He agrees.

She promises to look for that evidence too, and tells him, “You’re not a bad person.” Full of emotion, they embrace, while Dad and ajusshi drop their utensils in shock.

Jung-hoo wipes her tears from her face and leaves, since they’ve got an audience and all… and then he turns back, Dads be damned, for that goodbye kiss.

That night, Manager Ahn’s minions follow ex-detective Park Dong-chul and slip a tracker on him. The club lady provided Jung-hoo with this address, so now they’ll wait for the “target” to show up.

Thus Jung-hoo’s arrival at the scene gets spotted by the team. Thankfully he notices them, and more thankfully still, they don’t notice that he noticed. He manages to whirl Park Dong-chul into an alley unseen, and when Ahn’s team follows his tracker, they’re just led to the other half of their team, and find the tracker stuck to their car. Outsmarted!

From hacker central, Min-ja mutters at their stupidity and starts singing “I Am the Best.” Yes, we know, ajumma.

Jung-hoo takes Park Dong-chul to an empty church, and the man has already guessed that he’s Seo Joon-seok’s son, because “they” warned him that he’d come. They offered payment in exchange for being alerted to Jung-hoo’s actions.

Park Dong-chul says that it was Jung-hoo’s father’s fault that his life went down the drain. Jung-hoo remarks that all he wants is his father’s statement, but it sure is curious how violently the opposition is reacting.

He explains how the statement went missing, so he decided to track down the man who took it: Park Dong-chul.

Park scoffs that finding the statement is pointless, because it was falsified from the start: The one Dad gave is not the one that got recorded. Park Dong-chul and his colleague reported the offense internally and suffered for it. And now, I suppose it’s easier for the man to blame the dead Seo Joon-seok rather than some nameless, faceless evil.

Jung-hoo asks what his father said in his statement, and whether he admitted to killing anybody. Park realizes, “You… really don’t know anything, do you?” So tell us!

Late at the office, Moon-ho finds a pleasant surprise when Young-shin drops by bearing snacks and smiles. She admits to being unable to stay angry for long, and has a lot of things to ask him.

She starts by asking if they knew each other when she was young. I love how happy he looks as he confirms how super-tight they were, and he tells her about the parents working together and being incredibly close. Young-shin asks if she knew Jung-hoo back then, and Moon-ho says that they cried every time they met. “Because we fought?” she asks. “No,” Moon-ho answers. “Because you didn’t want to split up.”

Young-shin laughs, and decides that Jung-hoo must’ve cried first. “It’d be nice if I remembered,” she says wistfully.

She laughs more when Moon-ho informs her that Jung-hoo’s her oppa—by one month. (LOL. This was briefly mentioned before, that Jung-hoo was born in December and Ji-an in January, so technically he was a “year” older and therefore oppa, since Koreans count their age by birth year.)

Then Moon-ho tells her that her birthday is tomorrow, for which Myung-hee’s probably already busily preparing a bunch of food (which explains all the cookies and cakes). It sparks an emotional response in Young-shin, to finally know when her birthday is. Then she mentions the bad blood between Moon-ho and his brother, and his mood grows heavy as she asks why.

Back to Jung-hoo. Park Dong-chul drops a bomb when he admits to safeguarding a tape recording of Dad’s statement all these twenty years—and he told the other guys about it too, angling for a price. Jung-hoo immediately quadruples the offer, desperate to have the tape.

Park senses the chance to wring even more money out of the deal and tries to play Jung-hoo against the Elder. Jung-hoo tries to impress upon him just how very much he does not want to mess around with these bad guys, who would think nothing of killing him for it.

Jung-hoo begs the man to take his money and hand over the tape, and to save his life in the process. But Park fishes around in his pocket for something…

Moon-shik checks on Myung-hee that night, tucking her into bed before heading to his office. He smiles down at a photograph of himself and Myung-hee, not noticing that there’s a tiny device mounted to the underside.

He answers a call from Manager Ahn, who reports that the target just now turned on the cell phone. Crap, that was the thing in the pocket, wasn’t it? But on the upside, Myung-hee is totally listening to the call—she must have planted that bug! Go you, awesome lady.

Myung-hee listens to her husband ordering Ahn to mobilize everyone: “If that kid is the Healer as I suspect, he’ll be particularly skilled.” Ahn asks for a list of priorities to dictate how they respond in a worst-case scenario: Is it more important to get Seo Joon-seok’s recorded statement, or to get rid of Jung-hoo?

Myung-hee contains her gasp of shock as Moon-shik replies that the Elder cannot have such a tape leaking. At least Jung-hoo’s hit takes the backseat for now.

Moon-ho and Young-shin are heading out when he receives a call from Myung-hee, who hurriedly tips him off about Jung-hoo being in danger.

As she and Moon-ho head out, Young-shin calls Jung-hoo right away, warning him of the situation and urging him to run. Ajumma’s linked in too, issuing directions to the church and planning to send police at the right moment.

Jung-hoo turns sharp eyes on Park Dong-chul, who realizes he’s been sniffed out and tries to run. Jung-hoo grabs him, and Park makes excuses about how he had to do this. Jung-hoo turns the phone off, cutting the tracking signal, but the henchmen are already on the way.

Desperate and feeling time slipping away, Jung-hoo says that his father’s tape is the most important thing. He tries to usher Park away for the time being, but the man resists, naively thinking of all the money that’s been promised him. Jung-hoo bursts out that those thugs aren’t going to let him live, but the man doesn’t see that.

So Jung-hoo begs for just one thing, needing confirmation that his father didn’t actually kill anybody. Park Dong-chul promises to tell him when the others arrive, just as the screech of tires sounds outside. As henchmen storm the church, Jung-hoo grabs Park whether he likes it or not and pulls him along.

But Jung-hoo has to stop to fight the men who come at him, alternately running away and then running after Park to keep him from running away.

They escape the church, and again get stopped when the men surround them and charge Jung-hoo with fists and feet flying. He holds his own despite being vastly outnumbered… and then a car pulls up and a man steps out wielding a heavy metal pipe.

Jung-hoo freezes in alarm, and watches as that pipe swings straight into the back of Park’s head.

Park starts to go down, and the world goes silent (in a frankly weird edit) as he falls in slow motion.

Jung-hoo lurches forward to catch his fall, but gets knocked aside. Park’s head slams into the sharp brick staircase with a sickening thud.

Jung-hoo stares in horror. Police sirens sound in the distance and Moon-ho’s car arrives, but the army of goons retreats swiftly. They’re gone before you know it.

Jung-hoo rushes to Park’s side and begs him to answer his question, but comes away with bloodied hands. Park makes a wheezing sound and struggles to open his eyes, not quite dead yet, and Jung-hoo leans in close to hear his words.

Young-shin runs up and takes in the scene: Jung-hoo kneeling before the man, the bloody pipe on the ground.

Jung-hoo rises to his feet and meets her eye with literal blood on his hands. Moon-ho joins her a second later, followed by police… and Jung-hoo runs.

COMMENTS

Ohhhh no, this doesn’t look good any way you slice it. It’s bad that he ran, but it’s also not like he should have stuck around to get arrested, especially when he’s already in murky waters with the law.

Even so, while I find this scenario itself highly angst-stirring, I’m not too worried about Young-shin’s reaction to the incriminating tableau. In a different drama I probably would be concerned, but this writer doesn’t pace her major plot points haphazardly; there’s always a certain thematic cohesion and direction, and not for nothing was this hour the Trust Episode.

For plot reasons it was important to see Young-shin’s reaction to learning the truth of her past, and I appreciated that we were shown the layers of conflict in the moment. It hurt to see her pushing both Moon-ho and Jung-hoo away, but I liked that I could see Young-shin disliking that about her own reaction—she doesn’t want to be suspicious, but she can’t just will herself into ignoring the doubts.

It was important to watch her work through her response, and I wouldn’t have wanted the drama to gloss it over—but given that it was such angsty material, I’m also relieved that this wasn’t belabored. I’ll attribute this to the writer’s skill, which isn’t in necessarily crafting wildly original stories (as we’ve noted, Healer has a lot of conventional elements, pulled from familiar stories), but in knowing what to draw out, and how much.

It’s one of those almost invisible skills, because there’s less of an obvious wow factor when your writer is gifted at finessing a scene for emotional impact and teasing out beats that make us squeal—or cry, or hurt—rather than, say, dropping amazing new twists. I think that may be part of why Healer has sparked a particularly fervent response amongst its fanbase, leaving even the fans wondering what exactly its pull is rooted in. Maybe Song Ji-nah is just a master puppeteer of heartstring-pulling. Like I said, that’s a gift.

Another thing that Song is deft at, which is something I particularly noticed and loved about Story of a Man, is the way she draws conflict out of people being weak and human, instead of purely evil. Okay, sometimes there’s pure evil in there, but many of the antagonizing forces are problems because they are weak, such as Park Dong-chul.

Granted he made me want to reach into my screen to beat some sense into him, refusing to see that he was playing with fire, but I found it so compelling the way he was half-talking to himself instead of Jung-hoo, trying to justify his reasons for betraying Jung-hoo—almost like he was asking for Jung-hoo’s understanding, or even blessing. He’d clung to his identity as a righteous cop whose life was ruined for sticking to his morals, and now he just wants to cash that in a little bit to make his difficult life a little easier. It’s too bad you can’t only sell a little bit of soul and keep the rest; it’s sort of an all-or-nothing deal when you’re talking about core integrity. That makes Park’s last-ditch effort woebegone and pathetic, and because it’s so desperate, it only deepens Jung-hoo’s own desperation.

You see this trait in other characters too, with various people creating complications because they’re just living out their own lives and doing their jobs, like Detective Yoon. I love these worlds that Writer Song creates, where everybody’s the hero of their own story, and there are lives being lived beyond the screen’s confines.

So back to the trust issue: Yes, Jung-hoo’s up a creek at the moment, but I don’t believe the writer gave us that awesome “come back to me” scene only to yank it out from under our feet in the same episode. My favorite moment was when Young-shin asked him to find the truth, and then asked him to come back even if he hadn’t found it. She trusts him anyway, and her faith isn’t contingent upon the existence of decades-old evidence. Which may in fact be just the thing Jung-hoo needs to hear, actually, if his last hope of having certainty is now dead and gone. He’s so desperate to hear the words telling him his father wasn’t a killer, even though he believes (mostly, almost entirely!) that Dad wasn’t—and maybe Young-shin’s display of faith is the example he needs to have faith himself.

(One last reminder: Please don’t live-watch the next episode in the post for a previous episode, because that makes every recap post a minefield of spoilers. I know not everybody harbors as much hatred of spoilers as I do, but those are the house rules. Don’t make me go over there and delete you!)

I've this to ask, I'm just ASKING, OK?

When you compare his earlier pics w his current looks, do you think he has had any plastic surgery work done?

Do his eyes look different? His nose?

I personally don't have anything against stars getting touch-ups, esp. in SK, where everyone has sthg done to their face. Walk on the streets of Seoul and you'll see ppl, young and old, men and women, w surgical tapes on parts of their face, waiting for them to heal, some of them rather extensive. It's such a common practice in Seoul that no one thinks anything of it.

My Qn is prompted by the fact that he looks Sooo extremely very hot these two years compared to 4-5 years ago. Just wondering.

I don't about his eyes ... May have done done double eyelid surgery because it's very common there and I heard he has done nose job to make it bit sharp. But regarding the hotness well more than surgical jobs, its like he has got a bit tanned and hairstyle has been changed from the time of Empress Ki , before that he has light coloured hair and a bit curly. I think his skin colour and hairstyle now make him hot compared to before.

Well that's obviously my opinion and I do care a less because he acts just awesoommmmeee!!!!

I think almost every celebs in S.Korea and even America (just above everywhere) have undergone surgery. Their looks are important in the entertainment industry, it's how they make a living. So I have stopped being surprised everytime I find out a celeb has done surgery to enhance their looks.

I am sure he has had a few touch ups here and there ,I am not a big supporter of plastic surgery but it's a personal choice and especially on SK it's a very common practice ,all my years living there ,it's a must 90% of them do it (nearly all my friends had gone under the knife ,eyelids to be more specific )... But I adore him none the less ..

And another thing , it's my personal view, I find maximum Asian guys ( not girls) look younger than their actual age if you compare with other parts of the world...

I think therefore they have so many dramas about women in a disguise of men :D , they look 18-19 at age of 20s

According to me all of them look young...they are genetically blessed with great hair, skin and lean bodies Lucky ..so very lucky ! But they tend so be really skinny especially the gals ,I never get the gap between the thighs(hur hur ) and very thin men are not my thing ,some of the idols/actors ave very skinny ,which according to me on not healthy (big turn off)Body image is a very sensitive issue ..I don't want to hurt anyone's feeling these are purely my opinions !

@fantasy the newer generations the height of average guys and gals is much more comparatively ..relatively speaking there is a bit of a change in the eating habits as well! They have become more open to western cuisine now !

0

yep all asians look incredibly young for their age - genetically blessed indeed! A good trait to pass down for generations :)

0

Yeahhh I also read that Koreans are too concerned about their looks... I find YJT a bit different, sk actors used to be tall and lanky but YJT's proportions look good and he doesn't have double eyelids too, I guess...

Actually I too don't support Plastic surgery much but it's very common there. And I got enough of this "natural beauty" crap because of PSH.. To be honest , at first I liked her look too but then found that she is too much hyped for her "natural" looks, her acting is very ordinary ( again my personal opinion )

@fantasy they are really very concerned ,the demand of make up is really high ,they spend too much on it ,the demand of men's cosmetic is highest in SK !

@sumee

Because you have been in Korea, I want to ask you something.. What about their heights??? I mean do the common people in Korea have good heights like above 180 m or is it just for actors and models??

0

Ooopppsss!!! I mean *cm* :P

Sorry my reply was posted in the Earlier comment ..my bad !

@sumee

Wow!!! Thanx for your response , I have many queries but then JB would post warning " no chit chat on recap pages" :P :P

I find that the non existence of double eye lids on YJT makes hims super cute! I like when he smiles, and all his eyes just disappeared, SUPER CUTE! I wish they keep it that way, I wish not all of them going through the double eye lid surgery, since it gives them something unique, and it doesn't make them less sexy. Oppa YJT is one hella sexy living proof! #from a new old fangirl

0

YJT has natural looks imo, I dont think he actually touched up much at all :)

0

Shape of his nose is a little different from Five Fingers.

But, I think his face has changed overall due to maturity as well. Both of my brothers' faces became leaner and angular as they matured (we have a Korean background).

After his military service, I bet he will look more manly. Most Korean man lose the boyish look in their late twenties or early thirties.

wow I noticed that too.. and after observation of different photos of him lately I think the point is the makeup... I saw a pic of him as a representative at MBC drama awards and his face was exactly the same as Donghae days and then at KBS drama awards his face looks different so I think his looks change a lot when he change his hair and his eyebrows, and those highlights things of the makeup the magical power these days hehe...just my own opinion or maybe he just did some procedure who knows hehe ^^

I agree with though it's quite understandable that JCW has gone under knife but I found his makeup, skin colour and hairstyle play a vital role in his appearance.
Don't know why I feel he has tanned a bit, in smile donghae pics he was pinkish white :P, and in his curly hair style he looks very different

I don't know about his eyes but his nose changed. I don't really mind though. Some of my favorite actors did something on their faces and even the most handsome idol had his nosed changed. As long as they're good at what they do, I couldn't care less if whether they had gone under the knife or not.

Actually LMH had both a nose job and double eyelid done. You can compare his old pic to his new ones and it's rather obvious he had gone under the knife...

0

I really don't know. But I heard he had his jaw done. I was a LMH fan but rumor about his ps turned me off,(this was before, but now I don't really mind) but then I found out Lee Joongsuk had his nose done and Jaejoong, too. So I was like, oh to hell with plastic surgery, they're good at what they do which what matters anyway. ;)

Moon-hoo did not know that YS will act like she didn't know so that's probably why MH coudn't tell her. I think he was being careful since Myung-hee's reaction to his attempt to tell her about Ji-an being alive led to her seizure. But when MS told YS, he then had no choice but to tell her regardless of YS reaction.

Required fields are marked *

I do find that a very lame excuse from Moon Ho, Myung Hee doesn't live in a place where any one can enter, specially MS is that sensitive to this matter plus her phone no is also onle few people know. If he had to stop YS to meet her mother they are capable of doing so

0
2
reply

Required fields are marked *

I think Moon-hoo was more afraid of how YS might react to the birth secret. Remember she tried to kill herself when she was a kid and she thought her birth parents abondoned her. And also, it's not like he knew about YS for a long time now.

@Giegie that's a very solid point! Yes if I were MH myself, I would find it very difficult to say the truth too!

0

Required fields are marked *

I think Myung-hee would feel better knowing her daughter is alive rather than dying from a seizer. As of Kim Moon-shik, he has evil intentions either way. KMH better better make up his mind.
I hope they'll meet soon so we'll get to see plenty of mum and daughter moments. (:

Required fields are marked *

that's what I think too, MHee would feel relived that her daughter is still alive and not feel guilty all this time. the only time she may get sick is finding out that her daughter had lived through a past childhood abuse and then getting abandoned by so many people. But I am sure she will be okay if YS stays next to her when the truth is revealed to reassure her :)

@ fantasy and AnnaAkana

"But I still didn’t get the answer that why Moon Ho hid the birth secret from YS???"

Let's try and see it from Moon Ho's point of view.
1) YS's grave is empty = his brother has lied = his brother does not want Ji An in his life / had a hand in losing her
2) MH gets confirmation that YS is Ji An but he is a stranger to her and cannot just meet up to tell her something so personal and momentous just like that so he becomes her boss to begin with.
3) Because he has delayed telling YS, he finds it easier to postpone it since even if she knows, there's nothing she can do. She cannot tell Myung Hee that she is her daughter, and MS will still reject her anyway, which could make the situation even more ugly. So it was easier to keep quiet and have peace, as long as YS did not find out.

But Moon Shik tried to trap YS into revealing what she knew and tested her memory by laying out all the names of her parents and tried to raise suspicion against JH at the same time. So she started asking Moon Ho questions.

He only told her the truth when he had no choice ... but ... the truly ugly truth about MS been culpable in losing her, he still has difficulty divulging. No matter what, MS was the 'parent' figure for MH and MH owes him some degree of loyalty. It is very hard to admit that one's 'parent' is a bad person ... and especially since by extension one will appear to be a bad person too, (ince children often take after or are raised to think the same way as their parents.

Even MH himself admitted that he is not better than MS. MS also says MH is equally culpable since he knew the wrongs done and did not take any action to stop or reveal them. Moon Ho also called himself a dirty rag to help clean up the mess... so he probably felt rotten about his brother and himself and preferred not to tell YS about it.

Such a long answer!!! LOL! but I was just thinking it through as I typed.

The short answer? - Procrastination was easier until he had no choice but to tell her. Hope that sounds plausible! :)

@growingbeautifully

Just a comment about your comment Re: MS testing YS's memory - pretty sure MS did not lay out the names of her parents, because the last thing he wants is for YS to find out that her mom is still alive and make contact (MS's relationship with his wife will pretty much end when she finds out that he deceived her about her daughter's death). What MS was trying to with that slideshow presentation was an attempt to alienate YS from Healer and Moon Ho, and to convince her to stay away from Myun Hee.

As to why MH took so long to fess up - I agree completely with your view about him possibly feeling culpable by proxy.

Also, I get the impression that MH wants to know all the facts before laying it all out - just like his parable about the sleeping people stuck in a room, he wants to find the way out before waking up the others. Now though, YS has already woken up, and Myun Hee is about to wake as well; so lets hope they put their minds together and find a way out of the room.

Finally, we still do not know what happened 15 years ago. I suspect when it is revealed, we will have a better understanding of why MH and MS have acted in this way.

@ sungsta

Thanks for your take on those scenes in MS's office, etc.

I believe that Myung Hee's name was not mentioned, however Investigator Anh did mention the names Seo Joon Seok and Oh Gil Han. Around that time, I think it was, YS was having a bit of the panic attack but she kept it under control. I was struck by the fact that the name Oh Gil Han did not strike her memory in an obvious way. But it definitely entered her mind because she remembered it later when in her own room, she saw that report on the death/murder of her father.

Yes to what you say about alienating YS from JH and MH, and to the need to know what happened 15 years ago, in order to understand why MH/MS behave the way they do.

I'm not sure how showing that slide show would make YS stay away from Myung Hee though,... the part about there being dangerous people around YS and so MS was telling her to keep away from Myung Hee ... was supposed to be enough to do that, I feel. :)

0

@Growingbeautifully

YS did not know who her parents were when secretary Anh mentioned Seo Joon Seok killing Oh Gil Han. It was only after this meeting when MH told YS about her mom. I don't even think that MH even told YS about her bio dad - YS only figured out who her bio dad was after looking through the paperwork that MH gave her (presumably her birth certificate?).

I always post about how I love YJT and JCW's acting but I have to say that I love PMY's acting, particularly in this episode. From her believably shocked expression and disbelief in MH's confession, to her conflicted emotions when JH was in her bedroom, to her running after him as he was leaving, all I could think of was: wow, PMY you've come a long way from when I first watched you in City Hunter!

Same here. Have always liked PMY. First saw her in SKKS too.
Since Healer though, I started to love her.

Re the cafe, the hugging is more precious to me than the kissing scenes. The build up to it until the hug is a reaffirmation of YS' belief in her man, setting him to seek out the evidence to clear his father, and also YS' confirmation of her need for JH when she begged him to return, regardless.

Well...hello all..

This is my 1st post to DB. Huh...i never post anything for k drama..so this is my first :)
Hope this finds you all well.

It's been a while (maybe too long ) that a Kdrama would give me goosebumps and chills...Since Full House...:) (a bit pre historic rite?)

Yes I'm not to attached to k dramas...I would spent my days with western series...but get so dull and bored these days, than i accidentally "found" healer over google search ;)

After full house sometimes randomly check the kdramas that people talk about..secret garden (checked it), and my last series would be he who came bla bla..(I prefer romance comedy genre), but my response was flat...it was ok..not to.bad...and fine....until Healer comes..

This drama makes me hate myself anxiously WAITING for the next episode...

And than i found this thread which disect everything about the drama? Its getting better..people talk about it in the same feeling..goosebumps and chills...and I thought...ooh..i'm not the only one loosing my mind over this drama..

Loved how you guys/gals talked about it rite about everything...the casts, the plots, the clothes, the situations, the kiss (of course..), the bed scenes..etc..

For my self....I loved how CYS hugs him (PBS/SJH).
Notice something different than other kdramas...how she always wrap her hands around his neck..instead of wraping her hand around his waists like other k drama would do...

I think its more sincere when she hugs like that...it's like she surrender all of her to him..yet grasping all of him to her..
(John legend song? "Give your all to me..i give my all to you..")

monday finally arrives..cant wait for another great episodes of healer..

@ madame L

Hi there and welcome to the DB Healer thread! We are always glad to have more of us commenting and sharing how they feel. As you noted, we're all in the same boat here, rising and falling with the tide of each episode's major feels, and we're not afraid to let everyone know LOL! Right now there's a whole bunch of us like you, just on tenterhooks waiting for the show later today/tonight!!!

I too loved Full House when I first saw it years ago. I re-watched some scenes too and shook my head with frustration over the stubborn, immature Lee Young Jae and admired the beautiful, naive Han Ji Eun. Now watching Healer, I realize how far I and Kdramas have come. The editing and plots of several newer shows are so much better than those Full House days.

I hope you keep coming back to check on DB and the new shows being recapped here. The threads here are lots of fun, but it is this Healer thread more than any other that I've come across, that has been the most active and garnered the most comments in the last few weeks. You've come to the right place to revive your interest in Kdramas and to have 'friends' to share your thoughts and feelings with.

Many people also come to DB to read the recaps and see which show are recommended. This will give you an idea of what may be good and why.

Anyway, I'm glad to 'meet' you. Just 13 hours to the live streaming of Episode 17!!! Are you as excited as I am? :)

Ugh, I've been so busy that I haven't been able to comment! I wanted to write a lot more about Young-shin in this episode, but I simply haven't had the time. I also wanted to write a bit about Moon-ho because I haven't written that much on him yet. I'm trying to ensure that I have to work as little as possible in the next two days though LOL, so work is coming first.

Well, that, and I've also been marathoning the drama from episode 1 in the little spare time I've had. I haven't really done that yet and ever since Young-shin made the 'discovery' in episode 13 I've wanted to go back and sort of 'watch' through her freshly enlightened eyes. You know, imagining her looking back on all her moments with Bong-soo and Healer and putting them together. And, seriously, I don't think I can ever get tired of rewatching this drama because of this! It's just so much fun watching everything from her future perspective!

LOL also while I was doing this, I came across something interesting...the mugs at the beginning of episode 15 - Jung-hoo drinks out of both those mugs in the early episodes (on separate occasions, respectively)...at work in the lounge! LOL did Young-shin steal them and bring them to his lair?!

I saw your comments previously and knew you were tied up. I'm glad to see you able to make a quick stop here.

Mugs, you say? You mean when he drank in the office or at home? Can you tell me which episodes you noticed them? This is interesting ... it can't be that the props crew have so few mugs that the same ones are re-used, right? :)

He drinks out of the white one when he's listening in on Young-shin's and Moon-ho's conversation in episode 8. You know, the one he's drinking out of before going, "Too bitter!" and setting it down in frustration LOL. And he drinks out of the blue one in an episode before that one, I think 7 or maybe 5? But yeah, he drinks out of both of them at work. I'm just wondering how they got to his lair...

Same here, glad to know we have similar busy lives as well. I'm so busy a lot of the times that it's tiring by the end of the day. And even in my lack of sleep I still somewhat spare time for Healer. I have so many things to say too but feel the lack of energy due to tiredness, so I completely understand where you're coming from :)

Yaaayyy! It's almost time!!! I had to take a break from the mania. I was having a hard time getting anything done...Which is bad cuz I homeschool my kids, lol. But I'm back baby!!! And ready for moreXD Am I the only person who is having mixed feelings about the drama's end? On one hand, I am totally sad about it, because I love it so much. But on the other hand, I am almost a little bit glad, because it has become a bit disruptive to my life. I find that it takes too much of my brain for me to think clearly, and get things done. I wasn't even this bad with Buffy! XD

@Annabelle, same here. It's so weird, every song gives me a different feeling when listening to it. While I'm driving, I have the Healer playlist playing in the background lol. So when I listen to...

Eternal Love my heart starts to flutter I swear and I remember the scene from episode 8, when he was saving her from the elevator and of course the rooftop kiss. Then my mind moves on to their confession also on the rooftop...Such a beautiful feeling indeed lol :)

You - Ben of course the beginning of Episode 15 and all their sweet scenes, especially when he was drying her hair, backhug, and the kitchen cooking kiss.

Do any of the songs give you such memories and feelings or am I the only weird one here :)?

0

Required fields are marked *

Also I'm excited for #7 too! And a lucky number at that for uri JCW :)

Required fields are marked *

@TurkishRose

Omg yes, all those songs have a different feeling for each. My most memorable is of course "Eternal Love", it reminds me of all the OTP scenes. Most particular for me is the rooftop scene where Healer gave YS the tape. I can just remember that scene so vividly and JCW's low voice there was incredibly sexy.

"Highlight"/Opening reminds me a lot with either fight scenes or our Healer team has accomplished something. Most memorable scene with Highlight for mW would have to be the elevator rescue.

"When You Hold Me Tight" reminds me of all the good and happy moments. Particularly kitchen, hairdrying, backhug, puppy JH scenes in episode 15 - that was so adorable for our OTP.

So nope, you are not the only weird one here. Those songs are also so memorable for me as well :D

Me too I'm so in love with this show and I would definitely buy this album. So many memories with these. Ah Highlight is one of the best most unique instrumental IMO. I remembered it mostly at the moment when Healer flies up the elevator. Such gratifying moment ♥ For me, it made the rescue scene all the more better. I can't think of a better instrumental than Highlight. Simple one of the best ♥

0

@Annabelle loved that scene, and I love how you described it along with the instrument...simply beautiful :)♥ ❤

0

I really want the full piece of 'Highlight' too. Not just the truncated few seconds version. It was this piece of music that captured me from Ep 1 with that camera sweeping through the empty building into Healer's pad. Each time I hear it, I can't help feeling anticipation for some Healer action LOL!

Required fields are marked *

For me it's more of his personality, shyness, to be specific that became a trait that I love in men now. I used to don't like guys who are shy for the fact that I myself am also shy so it makes things all the more awkward when I have to talk to the guy. But seeing him I'm starting to like that trait all the more now. What about you?

0

Required fields are marked *

@Annabelle @fantasy,

For me it's also the shynes, but I love this aura about him, very reserved, shy, humble, yet is a prankster. I remember he mentioned it in an interview where he was saying its funny how people perceive me as shy but quite the prankster around my friends. So it's such a nice characteristic about him that I've grown to love as well :)♡♥♡

@fantasy I like reserved and quite guys, not shy lol. There is a difference, but I think I love him being like this. Totality agree with you that it's the shy ones who are the coolest :D

0

@Turkis Rose

Can you explain a little more??? I mean difference between shy and reserved ??? I don't find JCW that kind of SHY, just not enough smart for variety shows, easily get embarrassed, not much talkative but not irritating and he looks uneasy yet has a sense of humour :)

0

@fantasy...shy is when you're afraid to speak up sometimes in social gatherings. You can't say what you want to say, for fear of how it might be received.

Quite or reserved, is they are just quite but when it comes to them speaking their minds, they are totally confident. They don't speak often, but when they do its Daebaek :)

That's how I perceive then differently lol, I just feel jcw has a combination of both. He is sometimes shy and awkward, and other times he sounds very confident.

0

I have mentioned it too many times that I feel awkward now :P , it's not about his personality , it's his forehead :P LOL!!!! I generally dislike forehead crease , but I m now kind of obsessed and possessed by his forehead lines :P

And personality wise I have no complains with his shyness because he is a fun loving guy, I don't like guys who are very talkative and smart in very 1st meeting. From my personal experience 90% of those kind turn out to be flirt :P

@fantasy haha thanks, although for me it's not so much of an obsession with his forehead. I just saw it in a new light and only on him will I find it attractive. On the other hand, like what Annabelle and TurkishRose said above, I actually love his shy personality. I'm more attracted to guys like that :D

Haha I'm the opposite, if I had the choice I would go for the lips and then forehead second :P

0

@Turkish Rose

Going for his lips is the most normal things , I am only being abnormal here... tch tch

And about his shyness, I like it but I usually like shy and gentle guys, I feel comfortable with them actually :)

0

Sorry .. Above post is a reply to @Teru

0

@fantasy I agree, usually shy reserve guys are gentle and they respect their girl. And for me I am also more comfortable too :)

0

Lol...JCW is really my type of ideal guy ♥

0

Well, I, for one, do not usually feel attracted to 'pretty' boys. I can be a really huge fan of pretty boys like Song Joong-ki, Yoon Shi-yoon etc., but it's more because I enjoy watching them and feel for their characters, rather than because I fall for them or feel attracted to them. I usually go for more manly types like Go Soo, Gong Yoo, etc.

So I've been wondering how someone as pretty as Ji Chang-wook is doing this to me. Maybe it's because he's a pretty man? It's like even while being so pretty, he can actually present himself in a very manly way that not all boys as 'pretty' as him can do.

It's probably something about the eyes. Both Song Joong-ki and Yoon Shi-yoon have these really intense gazes and that's part of why I've become such huge fans of them. But Ji Chang-wook has all these looks that just make my heart beat so fast I can barely breath, and it's not even confined to a single 'type' of look either. Meaning there are looks like the ones at the end of episode 14, all intense and passionate, and then ones like at the beginning of 15, all warm and loving.

But if I actually had to pinpoint it, I'd have to say it's his voice more than anything. His voice is so deep and soothing and when he speaks words? So beautiful. (More than looks, a man with a hot voice drives me crazy, LOL.)

I m just asking ... You don't generally like pretty boys but JCW attracts you despite of being pretty??? Am I right??

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

Well...see I'm not sure if it's DESPITE him being pretty LOL. That's what I'm trying to figure out!

I guess I'm more saying that it's rare that boys this pretty are also manly enough to attract me and yet Ji Chang-wook is. So he's pretty and manly and I'm finding that I'm liking the combination. So yeah, it isn't despite him being pretty. He attracts me because he can actually be both that and manly at the same time!

Required fields are marked *

Mmmmmm.... Got it :)

But if you ask me he looks quite manly to me if i consider only East Asian men. For me Song Jong Ki, Lee Kong Seok, Im Siwan, Ahn Jay joon, Exo Luhan etc etc , they fall in the pretty boy category .. Well that's my personal view of course :P

0

LOL @fantasy, but that's what I'm saying!

See, he DOES fall in the manly category. It's just that before Healer, I didn't really sense the 'manliness' as much as a did the 'pretty'.

See, I came here for Yoo Ji-tae. He is one of my biases...so I consider him the manly type, and, by comparison, JCW is more of a pretty type. But ever since Healer...JCW has become both the manly type AND the pretty type to me. So he doesn't fall into the pretty boy category anymore...but he also doesn't quite fall into the other one either...LOL IDK!

0

I don't think he's pretty in this pic :-)

Well, okay, he's got glimpses of prettiness there LOL
But how about this one:

I also like his shyness and how innocent he is. Prime example: running man. I usually dont like people who go on there and are completely clueless or lost but he brought that to a whole new level and I love his appearance on the show now. It worked out for him and he was showing his real self.

I don't think there is necessarily anything I dislike about Korean men except that sometimes they are much too pretty, flower boy for my type ( example: Jang Geun Seok). I like them, but only up to a certain level. You still have to have some form of manly features. Chang Wook has that, but my main concern with anyone is their personality. Mainly their personality, because for me, a person becomes so much more attractive if their personality is something I love. JCW's personality seems to be one of an ordinary guy, who's humble, and shy. It's very cute and lovable.

here's the rough translation of the lyrics "I will Protect You" by Ji Chang Wook. It's from KOR > CHI > ENG, so I cannot guarantee there won't be a lost in translation. But at least this can keep everyone occupied 'till a proper Korean elite translate & share it...
---
(My) heart aches just watching you
Afraid to lose you when I close my eyes
I don't dare to go too far
Today, I am also wandering beside you, my love
Even if you don't turn back, I will still be here
To let you nestled in my arms anytime

Chorus:
The person I want to hold in my arms
The person I can't let go
Let me wipe away your sad tears
Because you are the only one in this world that make me smile
Now don't cry anymore
I will protect you

The person I'm thankful of, hold me tight
The person who warm my hands is you
Even though I am breathing
It doesn't count as living
Because if I can't see you There is no meaning

Repeat chorus

There is no other lover, right?
Even if the time passes everything changes there is only you
If I'm alone in pain it doesn't matter (In pain) for you, it doesn't matter
Let me comfort your pain
Because you are the only one in this world that make me smile
Now don't cry anymore
I will protect you

I love you you are always by my side

You mean on Annabelle's link? https://www.dropbox.com/s/puo4jrqocaog3pi/Screenshot%202015-02-02%2012.33.52.png?dl=0

It says "Man breasts tingle", and by the looks of it - it's the very first line of the lyrics:

바라만 봐도 가슴이 아린 사람
baraman bwado gaseumi arin saram
(My) heart aches just watching you

Yes....translation is very off. Thanks Google, you are very helpful in keeping byeontae girls from seeing this...haha

0

@Teru
Hahaha Google Translate is soooo drunk!

0

@Teru,
Yes. I laughed so hard at "Man breasts tingle", so I looked for what might have been its original phrase in the English lyrics.

My heart aches ---> Man breasts tingle. ROFL.

I almost prefer the Google Translate version. But then it won't fit too well w the rest of the lyrics as given here, Unless of course we go GT all the way, which should be great fun too!

0

@ TurkishRose

YaY!

By the title itself and also the lyrics, it looks like I'm going to get my happy ending. JH's got to be around to protect YS, right?

Now, bring on the remaining episodes. Ahm rejuvenated! :-D

Thanks for the translation. :-)

I know when I saw the comments I was very happy. I'm more hopeful for a happy ending. I want a complete happy ending...not open ended! The only other works I have seen of SJN's was Faith and although that had a happy ending it was open ended :(

Jaebal for a complete happy ending writer-nim! please...

0

ikr, I want to see YS and JH together overlooking the South Pacific Ocean scattering Teacher's ashes. Then scenes of their kids (1 girl 1 boy), dogs and goldfishes! That's the happy ending I want ♥

And of course, Ahjumma and Detective Yoon working together. I want Det Yoon to realise that the police is corrupt and join forces with ahjumma. I also don't want MoonHo to dies either. I want him to live happily as family together with JH/YS and Myunghee....sigh

0

@patinalee, @Annabelle, @Teru , after I read the lyrics too I became hopeful, but I believe our couple will have many hardships until they achieve their happiness. even if you don't turn back, I'll still be here waiting for you youngshin better turn back lol :)

Haha yes, Teru and I are really close - she works with me at my research institute. We're both research assistants, although I'm going be sad when Teru goes back to uni in a couple of weeks to focus on her studies. Which means she'll only voluntarily come back to help out when she has time :(

I'm actually new to kdramas/kpop...Teru got me into a year ago. Even with Healer, I wasn't planning on watching this series if it weren't for constant nagging! So glad she got me into this, I was previously on the Pinocchio bandwagon....but this is so good to the point of it disrupting my daily routines :D

0

I see, that's nice! :) I have friends who are also k-drama lovers, but sadly not to the point to watch a show live. I guess I'm the only one who's too far gone lol.

Can't say I'm new, since I've been watching k-dramas as early as my childhood days. But it's more of an on/off thing. I used to only watch dramas along with my mom until I picked up the hobby myself.

0

@ Omomo

You have people like me and lots of others virtually with you tonight. :) I hope the streaming works well. If it keeps pausing, I usually stop and come back later. But I don't mind waiting for the raw to be up as well.

Growingbeautifully, omomo, Ivoire, skyofblue, teru, turkishrose, patinalee, dramapenchant. And everyone, I love reading your comments and being part of this amazing community.

Deewanifordrama
I live in a city. A city without houses and walls and where I almost never see my neighbours face to face. We speak in typed print and *sighs* and *swoons* and 140 character sentences peppered with Korean, and occasionally meet up for dinner, but rarely so. In our city, while for one the sun might rise, for another, it is setting and we meet somewhere in the middle and say our goodmornings and goodnights. We share our news, and squee, and console, and laugh, and rant, and sometimes swap recipes. Some of us are students, old and young, some of us are parents, or grandparents, some of us are lawyers or teachers, homemakers or experts in an interesting field. We are a varied, interesting, and diverse city, thriving with loves and joys and tears and heartbreak, which we all share and cry on cyber shoulders or laugh together for a moment. And the interesting thing is that despite our disagreeing sometimes, we are friends. Friends who span continents and yet reside in an intimate and sometimes strange community of people who often seem like family. We are a world, a universe unlike any other I have ever encountered. And I love itI never really dreamed that this universe teeming with rather intelligent, witty, and hilarious life actually existed, that I would become a part of it, and that I would become friends with people I had never met.
I think her post describes the Healer commenters so well.

As Healer is onto its last 2 weeks, I just want to say I will really miss reading the thousands of comments here at dramabeans. Sub-thread: INSTRUCTIONS FOR WATCHING LIVE BROADCAST

So with 1 more hour left before the live broadcast, this is a repost of Bongsookie's instructions for watching live :)

1) when it’s almost time to air, go to their website http://www.kbs.co.kr/

2) At the top left hand corner, next to the KBS logo, there should be a tab called “On Air”. So click on the drop down arrow.

3) This should give a list of channels currently airing live at the moment. Click on “KBS2″ tv which should then pop up a new window.

4) This new window should have the player there and at first you shall see a few ads but then it should get to the drama right after.
I hope this helps. You can have a go at it now if you want before Healer airs (just note another program may be on instead).

Also apparently it seems Chrome browser works well as I read previously that safari didn't work. Remember to have your Flash Player updated to the newest version too. Good luck! :)
