Kim Sang-joong faces off with Kim Myung-min in A New Leaf

Kim Myung-min (King of Dramas) has indeed confirmed his new drama role in A New Leaf, and the show has lined up another charismatic lead to act alongside him in casting Kim Sang-joong (The Chaser, Gold Rainbow, City Hunter). Woohoo. Now this should make for a pretty great duo.
Kim Myung-min is the cold-hearted ace lawyer at a large law firm who gets into an accident and loses his memory. He then has to build his life back, presumably turning over a new leaf in the process, making for a moving “human drama” displaying warmth and growth.
Kim Sang-joong plays a character right up his alley as the head of the law firm where Kim Myung-min works, an ambitious and sharp professional who’d use the law—heck, he’d even create laws that don’t exist—in order to score the win. He’s also the primary force in making our hero into the ace he is today. Er, the ace he was yesterday, before he lost his memory perhaps. Because although he does attempt to help his ace upon his return to the firm, once his protégé starts behaving very differently from his old personality, their relationship becomes more and more contentious.
I love these two actors separately, and I’m pretty sure I’ll love them together. Granted Korean law dramas really aren’t my favorite genre, maybe next down the list below medical ensembles, but when has anyone ever watched a Kim Myung-min drama for the world it’s set it?
A New Leaf will take the Wednesday-Thursday slot on MBC following Sly and Single Again, and premieres in mid-April.

Despite the amnesia part xD I can live with tha law part though that constantly drives me mad in Korean dramas and movies^^

Years ago there was a movie with Harrison Ford where he is ruthless, two-timing lawyer who becomes a sweet guy after a brain injury. I am waiting to see how similarities will arise between New Leaf and the Harrison Ford movie.

Okay, this I can get excited about. The synopsis is very similar to "Regarding Henry," which I like, and, of course, tuning in to see these two actors together is a no-brainer.

Nope, we watch to see the world KMM creates :)
I am looking forward to this drama. I've been missing KMM a lot. Or is it Anthony that I miss? *goes to rewatch KoD once more*

This exactly! I was just going to say that KMM creates the world in his dramas, like Beethoven Virus (despite the terrible instrument editing) and KoD. He might just make a law drama less cringe-worthy. The KMM and KSJ pairing is amazing news. Can't wait for this!

I read the news yesterday and i'm pretty much excited just because KMM. So it's basically Anthony of law firm plus amnesia plot. I'm still laughing when I remember amnesia scene in KOD. LOL
I just hope CSL end already.

Javabeans, I'm also naturally adverse to medical dramas (they more often than not bore me). However, I think Korean dramas revolving around law are pretty fun and suspenseful even if the law itself is totally child's play, lol.
Anyways, I am very much looking forward to this drama solely for Kim Myung Min. Oh dramagods, please let me be heartwarmed.

YES! Kim Sang-joong is, like, my favorite ahjusshi actor ever! (Do I even call him ahjusshi? I don't know his age for sure, just that he's over forty, right? Or is he over fifty? When do actors become halbaes?) Anyway, ever since I saw him in City Hunter as Bad Daddy, he's been one of my favorites. He does rock the bad guy roles, even though I enjoyed him as the Good Daddy in Golden Rainbow, while I was watching it. I stopped after episode 15 because I could just see so many things happening that I didn't like. I do plan to go back to it, at some point, though.
Kim Sang-joong with Kim Myung-min will be awesome. But I am curious on how KMM's character goes back to being a lawyer after loosing his memory. Does it come back and he realizes his mistakes? Does he have to take a test to make sure he can be a lawyer again? Not to clear on this, but I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Kim Sang-joong was wonderful in Chaser and Kim Myung-min, well, what can I say about him in King of Dramas that hasn't already been said?

I would really love it if you recap this drama! The first two episodes are really awesome. The tone of the show is serious but Park Min Young's character balance it with her wit and humor (and clumsiness).
I'm looking forward to Kim Myung Min's softie side. Even in his shark mode, I can see his softer self. And the way he cares about his dog (even having their picture on his desk), shows how sweet he is inside.
dramabean's recaps complete every drama I watch. And this show really caught my heart in the first two eps~!! Looking forward!! :D
