If I remember correctly, the decent person in Dream High is not the principal, but the foundation president. I think the principal What’s Up is quite decent. Or am I confusing it with another drama?
I honestly don’t watch too many youth/HS dramas, so no idea. But I’ll take you at your word. I just assume that of you’re the principal of a dramaland HS you’re a fairly terrible person until you prove otherwise.
100% recommend. Plus, you get bonus puppy Ji Soo in his element – Angsty Teen with Tragic Backstory. I’m rewatching right now and it really is as good as I remember. Also, only 12 episodes, so not a huge commitment.
Yeah, I’ll have to put that on the to get to at some point soon list. Too many dramas to watch before that. Planning to catch up on Save Me/Rescue Me by weeks end. Really not sure how I’m going to do that since I’ve only watched two (2) episodes thus far.
But I would forgive all the little shitty things you little shit do and say to me when your eyes crinkle with your mischievous grin (…..sob….hate self…)
Are brothers given a handbook at birth to learn how to annoy? Is there a secret club or something? Do they burn effigies? How do they know the exact right thing to say?
Hahahahaha! The Secret Lives of Brothers. I think it’s written into them, as soon as they know they have a sibling, preferably a sister, it’s just like DING ‘Annoyance Mode Activated’ hehehe
It’s ok, it means I don’t react as much to anything now. They’ve trained me well
It doesn’t help that my bro was born on Halloween which probably makes him extra devious. Though, I’ll be honest, I was a pretty bossy older sister too. Granted, we also have a ton of cousins who are like older bros, so I have a thick skin when it comes to any form of teasing or joking around. Plus, I give as good as I get.
Hahahaha!
Was just gonna say that also, can push a few buttons myself. 😛
I wouldn’t trade my brothers for anything though. They’re awesome. (You know what- I need more super awesome sibling dynamics in dramas. I feel like they’re a wee bit lacking… or am I just watching the wrong dramas.)
Exactly. And I love her relationship with her mother. I totally forgot the scene where the mom yells at the school to prepare her transfer papers and then Yeon-soo is like “uh, actually…”
I swear I never used to cry before I watched dramas. Now there are the occasional tears falling from my eyes. But as my girl Cheon Song-yi says: “It’s not crying. It’s just my eyes shedding tears.” I’m definitely still dead inside. Move along people, no emotions to see here.
In an attempt to move on from School 2017 I rewatched the first episode of Sassy Go Go. I completely forgot how this show brings back so many of the raw feelings from when I was 17 over a decade later – both the good and the bad.
I feel like dramas are telling me to get pink glasses even though I the only pink I wear is lipstick. Literally only have one pink item of clothing in my closet.
I listened when Dramaland told me to buy pink glasses. The bottom half of my frames are pink and the top half is black. And a (prescription) pair of pink, mirrored cat frame glasses.
But, I’m sitting here in pink skinny jeans and blue peasant blouse with pink flowers. I’m a pink gal. I’ve given myself over to it.
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate on pink (it’s my signature lip color after all) but I have never been able to find pink clothes (that aren’t Indian clothes) for my everyday life. I love a good hot pink pair of jeans or a bright jacket. Maybe one day the universe will throw me a bone. Perhaps that is why I’m gravitating towards the glasses?
I used to hate on pink. People kept telling me that I looked good in pink but it seemed such a peppy color and I am not a peppy gal. Except that I actually extremely am. I am a known for 10 second dance parties and jazz hands . Once I realized that this was my definition of pink–pink. Pink everywhere.
Maybe once you get the glasses the pink clothes will find you. You have a signature lip color? I envy your style. I was at target the other day and I was thinking about you and your fashion sense. I don’t have one. I spent a RIDICULOUS amount of time in the mirror this morning staring at this outfit going…reallly? Am I really going out in the world in this? Is this ok? Is too young? Am I trying to look young? Then I shrugged, said whatever and went to the library.
I have a hot pink lipstick that I was talked into getting at sephora a few years ago, and that spiraled into a lipstick addiction, but that pink has been my go-to for 3+ years now. So much so that when they discontinued it I bought an extra. (Pro tip: if you have on a bold lip and no other makeup most people will think you are super done up regardless of dark circles or uneven skin and acne.) I’m too lazy for actual makeup, but I wear lip color or stain nearly every day just to feel a little put together. Right now I’m obsessed with the original Peripera inks which I have in all five colors because who doesn’t love to take advantage of a 50% off sale? Plus, that stain does not move once on. I layer it under lipstick when I’m going for a professional or fancier look and just wear it on it’s own otherwise.
I’ve 100% been there with questioning my outfit, but I find that unless I’m physically uncomfortable just going for it is best, because unless you look totally bonkers, almost no one will care. (Hell I questioned myself this morning, but then I was like, no one at the farmer’s market gives two craps what I’m wearing.) Also: leopard is a neutral. Changed my life.
OK, so I think we can definitively say I’m on board the Strongest Deliveryman train (delivery bike?).
But show, it should not take me 9 episodes to care about the main characters! You are very lucky that you have really fun secondary and tertiary characters for me to care about because otherwise you’d be in a lot of trouble. Also, it helps that I was bored today and your episodes are just under an hour long. Less guilt over bingeing.
My sentiments also… I like all the characters at the start… and then I sort of fell back on liking anything much, and now I’m behind them again and I’m just like Why? How? Oh Well… haha
Like, if the show keeps up this momentum I think I’ll be able to stick with it to the end now, but why did we have like, 3 episodes dealing with the car racing plot? I get that it was important story-wise but it took up too much time. And there were weird time-skips that weren’t clear so that screwed things up a bit too when it comes to realizing the relationships. (Like why couldn’t we have had a whole episode of that month of Dan-ah and Kang-soo hiding their side hustle? Why did we need the murderous pipe-plot and prison stuff instead? Unless the prisoners make a comeback later I don’t know why it was necessary.)
But now I care about everyone, I want Dan-ah and Kang-soo to get together, I want not-a-gangster chef to sort things out with Soon-ae, and I want all my deliverymen to be happy. I even care about roommate and the Kang-soo mommy plot (but not the chaebol business shenanigans). Don’t make me regret an afternoon I could’ve spent reading, show.
Yes. Yes. All of the above.
Way too much time on the car racing and bromance angst and it meant very, VERY little development for our main couple. Like Dan Ha got one seen in one of those episodes…
Which is why their relationship starting was weird and jerky.
It’s only last week that I was convinced by it enough to ship it properly.
Same. But it such a weird turnaround. Like to be bad from episode 3 through to 8, and then get better in 9???? Have to say, that’s a first for me. Usually it just goes downhill completely if it’s weak that far through.
Then again, we still have 6 eps left so PLEASE SHOW STAY OK.
It’s just really uneven writing paired with mediocre direction (in terms of the director’s pacing of plot advancements, because the visuals are actually pretty good).
I think I’ll finish, unless like, I dunno, Dan-ah is suddenly the heir to a Ramyun empire and decides that actually, deliverymen aren’t for her and instead, it’s clearly convenience stores that are the moneymakers…Actually, I might watch that. As long as she takes my rainbow unicorn Ji-yoon with her to be her secretary/bodyguard. Obviously Soon-ae will also go along to keep the riff-raff away.
