Does anyone truly like Makjang dramas? I imagine people watch them for the same entertainment value as spanish soap-opers. (I’m basing this entirely on hear-say since they aren’t shown on tv here.)

You can’t upload moving gifs from your device (you need to click them for them to move), but if you copy the image address of the gif (right click, copy image address) and paste it in the image URL bar, the gif moves. copy + paste from @daydee ‘s reply to me before. 😊

Can we go back to the cute and funny? I don’t like Dong-man getting beat up… and neither does Ae-ra.

Or rather, New Spock lol 😛 I’ll never get over how they managed to find a young actor who looks passibly like Leonard Nimoy, he’s got such a unique look. The cast’s looks is just about the only thing reminiscent of the original Star Trek franchise though lol.

To be fair the hair/ears/eyebrows are easy to fix and I actually don’t think that Quinto looks that much like Nimoy. I actually think that his portrayal of the Spock character is closest to the original though…
I actually see the old and the new franchise as almost complete seperate entities and it helped me enjoy both more because it’s such a contrast.

That’s true, but he still has some similarities in facial features that make it possible for him to look alike with those attributes attached. I’m just sad they at one point along the franchise dropped the green-ish skin that you see on restored versions of TOS. I kind of love that and it’s also way more logical than green blood = reddish skin lol.

I try to see it that way too, especially since I didn’t stumble upon the original franchise until it got picked up by a store again after the release of the 2009 film, but then sometimes I’m reminded how many new fans think Star Trek is JJ Abrams’ vision of it. And that just makes me sad, especially since the guy even said himself that he’s never been a fan of Star Trek, because he doesn’t understand it, he’s always been more of a Star Wars fan. These two franchises are literally on opposite sides of the spectrum and if you like the one but not the other, don’t go continue the franchise you don’t get? I feel like writing the guy to tell him to sponging off of old franchises and just build his own. And now even more people write off Star Trek and sci-fi as all shallow action and aliens, which is just one tiny fraction of the genre. Stop ruining sci-fi Abrams!

Okay. That got rant-ish. My apologies. I must’ve been taking out my exam-stress on this reply lol. Or I’m just happy someone finally knows what I’m talking about 😛

Aren’t all trekkies a bit emotional with this question? I understand you completely. =)
I grew up with TNG and thus it’s my favorite but I still appreciate TOS. I mean it’s the one that started it all.. how could I not. But to be honest in recent years Star Trek hasn’t really garnered new interest the way it did with the total overhaul by JJ Abrahams. And to me those new fans are just a different type of Trekkie. The way I describe myself as a TNG-Trekkie they probably describe themselves as Alternate Universe Fans or whatever the official name is.
The fact that Abrahams is a Star Wars fan and not a Trekkie doesn’t help his case but I feel that even if another director did the same movie fans would be disappointed with the AltVerse because of the tonal shift. For me personally the old Star Trek movies rarely worked in cinema anyways (First Contact being the most important exception to this) because of the less flashy moral dilemma issues being at the center. So in that regard I’m almost glad that the attention is now somewhat back. There was even talk about a new Star Trek series on TV a while back… wonder what happend to that… *off to google*
