Trying to catch up with FOS and I’m finally on ep 3. *fighting* I gotta say, this ahjussi is really cute. I’ve already loved Shi Mok’s character since ep 1.
Some people are disappointed with The Best Hit as it\’s is focusing on romance, but I think they intentionally portrayed all the kdrama clichés. They\’d been doing it a lot in other episodes as well.
It doesn’t really matter to me whether it’s intentional or not. I’m sure the tonal shift from comedy to romance is intentional, but I don’t have to like it. What’s the point of portraying kdrama romance cliches completely seriously when it’s supposed to be a comedy? Why not poke fun at them, subvert them, parody them, etc.? They could still focus on romance and do that. I’m just finding the second half of the show not nearly as funny as the first half. I mean that’s somewhat expected with most dramas, and if they were focusing on the heartwarming family relationships and non romantic relationships I’d be a little happier about it. I just don’t find the main loveline here to be particularly well-developed, so the focus on it doesn’t interest me at all. I find myself comparing TBH unfavorably to My Only Love Song which I just finished and loved and imo did a way better job balancing comedy and romance and developing a loveline between a similarly constantly bickering duo without going super serious on cliches.
You’ve the right to not like it. I was just saying it because I could see that they’d been doing some kdrama cliche theme on each episode, so I don’t mind the romance because I don’t take it seriously.
If Cha Yoo Jung has a suspicion that Hyun Soo might\’ve escaped from the ward, why\’d she go alone to check, knowing Hyun Soo is a serial killer? #SuspiciousPartner
I don\’t even wish for her to be with Crown Prince at the end, but at least, I\’d like her to have a happy ending with Gon by her side. #JusticeforHwaGun
I’m not celebrating her death because it will make me more evil than Dae Mok. 😂 but imo her death is honourable one since she did everything she could for her love and I do think it has connection with the plot, so some sacrifice is necessary. Just like Hye Ryung in Scholar Who Walks The Night, her death was the ultimate reason why Gwi stated to lost himself. But I also understand why some fans frustrated for HG’s death in this drama lol, because it pissed me off also when Hye Ryung died in Scholar lmao😂
I hope, her soul will coming back to haunt Dae Mok with nightmares and will start to cause his downfall by making him crazy because deep in his heart, he must regretting killing her. Now his son also left him and I suspect will join hand with the real King, it will make him really mad. The family that he wanted to protect all left him,it’s more than enough as a reason for him to start to lost himself.
Yea, Ae Ra and Seol Hee are the 2 that he’s known since they were 6-years-old, and most of his interactions are with Ae Ra, for obvious reasons, but it’s nice to see him have a little moment and share a little gesture with Seol Hee, too =) So sweet!!
Immediately google Vanuatu after SSK mentioned it in BOTWG. This is my first time hearing that country. I’m glad that my knowledge expands when watching kdrama.
I don’t think that she’ll feel betrayed. I think since they are getting together while she’s breaking up she’s going to want them to not be together initially because she’s the mom and moms try to protect their babies.
I could have watched them do that for hours! I was just saying how much I loved the progression of their relationship just in this ongoing conversation about TakSu. The ep started with Boss Ae-Ra telling Minion/lackey that he will NOT fight Taksu (because she loves him so much!! Just listen!!) The middle of the ep (this adorableness above) was girlfriend Ae-Ra still trying to be Boss Ae-Ra and force Dong Man to do her will. I love that he gave it right back to her–he *knows* all of her tricks! He was there when she was learning them! And the ep ended (on this conversation) with them as equal partners having an actual conversation about why he wants/needs to fight TakSu and why she doesn’t want him too. The conversation may not be over but they seemed like equal partners and I loved it.
Yes, you’re right. Their disagreement on this issue might cause into a huge fight if both of them are not trying to understand each other. I love how Dong Man knows how to handle Ae Ra when she’s being all bossy and finally opens up to her to his personal story at the end, so that she understands him better.
I don’t see myself binge watching this drama because I always stop after watching one episode. I have to relax myself before I could continue the next episode.
Watched episode 9, and it’s getting better. I finally can get a grasp on what’s going on and kinda expect what’s gonna happen. Well, I just hope my theory is right because I’d been avoiding spoilers for the ending.
I’m still stuck at episode 7… I was out of house last two days, but I hope I’ll finish it some time soon… 🙂
I’ve been avoiding spoilers as well, I really hate them.

That’s perfectly consistent with Yoo-jung’s character so far if you ask me. In that it’s stupid and unprofessional.
