Go Ah-sung livens up the company meeting in Radiant Office posters

Two new posters for upcoming workplace comedy Radiant Office have been released. This MBC drama about grabbing a second chance at life stars Go Ah-sung (Heard It Through the Grapevine) as a probationary employee and Ha Suk-jin (1% of Anything) as her ill-tempered supervisor. It follows Go Ah-sung as she adopts a new attitude towards life when she discovers that she’s terminal, and the drama will be about her navigating her new corporate life filled with new friends and new challenges.

The heroine attempts suicide at the Han River because her life isn’t going as planned and finding a job is proving to be near impossible, but she runs into two other people trying to do the same. This is how she meets two of her future co-workers played by Hoya (Answer Me 1997) and Lee Dong-hwi (Entourage). Hoya is a timid mama’s boy who has a great resume but also an anxiety problem. On the other hand, Lee Dong-hwi is a failed repeat civil service exam student with ex-girlfriend issues. His ex who also works at the company will be played by Han Sun-hwa (Rosy Lovers). Eventually they all meet again when they enter the same company as new probationary employees under prickly marketing head Ha Suk-jin.

The first poster shows Go flashing a satisfied grin while lying on a meeting room desk. But the rest of her co-workers look like they’re in agony, especially Lee Dong-hwi whose body language speaks volumes, showing comedic pain. Ha Suk-jin looks angry at Go Ah-sung, but Kwon Hae-hyo’s (Jealousy Incarnate) I-can’t-deal-with-this-another-moment expression is the best. The copy reads: “Office rebellion of the underlings who act like the superiors!”

The second poster also takes place with Go Ah-sung on top of a meeting room desk, but this time she’s standing up with a determined look on her face and her finger pointed in the air, like she’s about to lead an office rebellion (or start a dance party). Everyone else around the table has expressions of dissatisfaction or boredom. But the comedy is in the copy — the letters all together read: “This family-like company.” However, if you take out the white letters and just keep the red ones, it reads: “shitty company.”

Wednesday-Thursday drama Radiant Office premieres this week on March 15 on MBC.

These guys were filming in front of my house the other day, presumably at the blue cafe. My husband was much less excited about Ha Suk-jin's presence than I was, haha.

Office comedies are always hit or miss for me, but I like the cast in this one. We'll have to see how the tone works out, but I'll try to tune in tomorrow at least.

So what and where is this legendary blue cafe that people always talk about?

"People" is probably just me haha. It's a cafe with light blue doors and an entrance trellis/arch that features in a lot of shows. (It shows up in Tomorrow With You, for example, when Marin drops all of her resume pictures and Songjoon helps her pick them up.) It's in Ilsan, where MBC has its broadcasting station, and is used fairly frequently as a filming location. The cafe is right down the street from my house so I see film crews a lot on my way to and from work.

Ahhh...Ha Suk-jin so envious that you have the chance to see him! He is one of my favorite Korean actors because of his "dumb jock" image which is a rare "image" among Korean actors

Lucky you !!! Despite being an Indian I am so much into Korean food, Korean culture and language that my friends and family ask me to either move to Korea or marry a Korean guy! Won't deny if I get to marry someone like Park Hyun shik although he is 2 years younger than me. Ha ha!! People can dream right!!!

Kender@ I'm so jelly of you.. I fell in love with Ha Suk-jin and would love to meet him...

Newbee@ IKR, I totally agree with you. I love the Korean culture and food and don't mind hitching up with a Korean guy... but sometimes there is culture difference. You have to watch "My Neighbor, Charles" its about non-Korean and Korean marriages.

Really? This is competing with Chief Kim for a couple of weeks?

The comparisons are going to be brutal.

Isn't it a little weird that they are all trying to kill themselves and end up in the same office.

Is I possible they are all dead and the office is limbo? Or is it just a pecular office with a high percentage of suicidal people employed?

So the Boss From Hell is really The Boss From Hell?

Definitely the workplace can't be heaven. In heaven, we should all be lying on satin clouds and strumming harps. I won't begrudge an occasional appearance of a shirtless Ha Suk Jin though.

A workplace can be heaven for some people, who got paid more than work done, but no one can complaint him or her about that!
sighjh

Ha Suk Jin is perfect as The Boss From Hell. LOL. Hoping Dada will cameo. maybe as an employee who is fired by him. Dada with her temper will definitely do some revenge lol. But please no more lobster to be sacrified!

just stepping in to say Heard It Through the Grapevine is an underrated gem of a show, and imo the best of 2015.

If Radiant Office is even 10 percent as good as that, it'll be worth the watch.

That's what I thought. I was hoping to see a Ah sung Lee Joon reunion but alas they're reunited on tv albeit different programs. I believe the choices Ah Sung makes.

Heard It Through the Grapevine should consider Season 2 or maybe the writer & PD to do another black comedy with Go Ah Sung and Lee Joon as the main cast.
