Name That Drama: Runaway grooms and tree painting

- Well, 85% sure is better than nothing
Er, so there’s this drama I think I remember my parents watching years ago. It was probably from like 2000-2010. The main character was an older woman, like maybe in her thirties or forties? Or maybe not, lol… I used to think basically everyone was an ajumma, so.
I’m 85% sure that she was a cop. In any case, she fought pretty good, I think. I dimly recall a scene where she chased off a bunch of hoodlums/loan sharks(?) at a marketplace. I believe the title of the drama had her name in it. I feel like it was “Something Something, Name.” I also kind of got the impression that there was this younger(?) dude that liked her.
But I might be making that up completely. Also, there might have been birth secrets involved. All of this is incredibly vague and possibly made up in my head… Help?
- Name That Drama or Movie Again
Hi Dramabeans, Girlfriday, and fellow Beanies!
So I can’t remember what drama or movie this is, but I remember one scene vividly, so I hope someone can help me out.
I watched this drama or movie with my parents (so a long time ago, at least six or seven years). The scene I remember specifically was in a gym of a high school or college. The main female character would paint the wall of the gym. She would paint whenever the gym wasn’t in use, I’m pretty sure that would mean she would paint it at night.
The other main character (male) that likes the girl would also paint the gym wall for her so that she would finish it faster. They would never meet at the same time, but he would paint for her. He also never told anyone why he was painting the wall, because I remember sometimes his friend would just watch him paint. Painting the wall would occur over a long time frame, and eventually she noticed that he painted for her, and in the end, there was a huge tree with leaves on the gym wall.
It was a very touching scene and I want to remember what show it was! I’ve literally been trying to remember for years. I hope someone can help me! Thank you.
- Ooo, I love horror movies, but I’m getting the clues here confused with every other pale face/long hair horror movie ever
Dear Beanies,
There’s a scene that’s suddenly popping into my head, and no matter how hard I try to remember, I can’t find the title. Help, Beanies!
The scene that I clearly remember is about a bunch of teenagers (it’s probably a movie and absolutely horror themed) that hangout in a cafe or restaurant at night. They find out that there’s a mysterious woman (pale face and long black hair) across them, and suddenly they feel nervous and uncomfortable. Then they decide to walk out to a subway nearby while one of them keeps filming.
In the subway, they meet the mysterious woman across from them again, and she jumps (or mysteriously disappears) in front of a train. Later in the video that they keep filming, t here’s a face of the female ghost coming from the railway below them.
I think this scene is the opening of a horror movie. Anyone, please tell me this movie’s name. I’m dying of curiosity!
- Aside from the birth secret, this one doesn’t ring a bell
Ahhh, I’m usually pretty good at remembering the dramas I have watched, but this one has been driving me crazy for a while. All I remember is a mom who comes back to see her estranged daughter, who might be the main lead. They hang out and bond, and then the mom asks her for money. Later, there is a scene where the mom is talking to someone on the phone and says that she’ll get the money soon. The girl gives her the money, but finds out that her mom has another daughter who is suffering some illness and needs money for surgery. Oh, and there’s also a scene where the main lead is watching her mom happily reunite with her other daughter at an airport, and I think the daughter had bandages wrapped around her head.
This is all I can recall. Thank you so much for helping!
- So, somewhere in the span of six years
There was this drama back in 2006, or was it 2012? Somewhere in that timeframe there was a scene where the main character, Summer, runs away with the unidentifiable [insert name here] main lead groom during his wedding. I think a camcorder was a big symbol in this show.
Halfway in, the guy went back to his family and married his fiancée, and the girl somehow gets amnesia and is dating her best friend. Who, in turn, is pretending to be her boyfriend since he was nursing a crush on her for years. Also, I remember a scene where the main character likes the blue wallpaper?
- I wonder what the real statistics are for amnesia following a head injury
Recently YouTube recommended a fan-made (I think) music video from a TV series about a guy who seems to be well-to-do and is dating/about to get engaged to one girl, but falls on a beach and hits his head on a rock or brick or something. A second girl rescues him and she and her family look after him because he evidently lost his memories when he hit his head (it was her fault that he fell on the beach). It seemed that the second girl was always getting into trouble and having to be caught by guys when she was falling off buildings and cliffs and things.
Eventually the male lead goes back to his office/home/friends and it looked like his first girlfriend had maybe left him for somebody else? But then more drama ensued about which girl he was going to end up with.
This was all crammed into a four minute music video. The translated words at the bottom of the screen (which I couldn’t read) seemed to be from Vietnam, and the channel stamp in the corner seemed to be for a channel in Hunan, so this may not be a Korean drama.
Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

I think no. 2 may be 'My Little Bride' with Kim Rae-won and Moon Geun-young. They ended up painting a huge tree with leaves and 2 children playing on a swing by the end of the movie.

Most likely. In the drama, the heroine accidentally hits the hero with her car and then proceeded to cause more head injuries as she and her family dragged his prone body home. So the accident didnt take place at a beach though they lived near one. And there were a bunch of beach scenes. The second female lead didn't get into trouble, though she was unhinged during the second half of the story. Attempted suicide a few times I think.
Loved this drama and Chen Qiao En has mastered the eyes filled with tears I'm trying not to shed look.

I loved it that much and saw each episode several times when it was airing though I'm not sure how it will survive a rewatch. I love the "i wouldn't look twice at you, but now that I've got amnesia..." trope. We got to see him fall in love with her twice - once as the innocent and warm amnesiac. The second time as the rich, cold CEO. And then he had to win her over because she had originally fallen in love with the nice, amnesiac version of him. The two leads had incredible chemistry.

#5 sounds like the Taiwanese drama I Do. The main female character in that show is called Summer and she did run away with the groom (played by Blue Lan) on his wedding day. She did get amnesia at one point although I don't recall how she got it. She definitely also had a friend who was nursing a crush on her but as to if they really were pretend dating under her amnesiac state is something I can't recall. The OST for this drama is sang by Fish Leong.

IKR....when they guessed that this is Prince who Turned into a Frog TW-drama, I was thinking of rewatching this just to see those parts where she fell off buildings and cliffs. Seriously?! And one even commented about attempted suicide. OMG...it's either my memory is failing me or too much dramas have jumbled all the other scenes.

just realized attempted suicide might have been in another drama. The second female lead was at the hospital several times. Don't remember guys having to rescue her from falling off cliffs. Like someone else mentioned, there was a mainland China remake so the falling off cliffs could have been in that one.

For once I knew the answer to one of these but then again everyone knew it.
#2 is definitely My Little Bride
Also, as I have read from the comments that #4 is Warm & Cozy but it sounds so freakishly similar to Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju with the gender reversed. This leads me to the conclusion that even awesome shows might be taking inspiration from other shows but we might not be able to recognise it. So in turn it basically means that good actors and good writers can really change a show around!

Finally I know the answers to some of these!:
#2 Yes, as many others have said, that's a scene from the movie "My Little Bride", which was one of the first (if not the first) korean movies I watched around the time I started watching k-stuff.
#3 Actually, that's not a movie/drama (unless it's been recreated in one). It's quite an old video of some japanese guys narrating a "real" event that happened to them (which is exactly as you wrote) and that they recorded with their mobile phone.
I'm not sure if I can share links here, so look it up on YouTube by the title:
>>Japanese Ghost!! spotted on camera!! English Subtitles!<<
#4 Yep, that's definitely Warm & Cozy.
Have a nice day everybody! :)
