Strong Woman Do Bong-soon is a tiny hulk in first teaser
by chickachunga
If you like the current state of your fingers, do not mess with Do Bong-soon because as the very first teaser of JTBC’s upcoming romantic comedy Strong Woman Do Bong-soon indicates, she can break bones like they’re twigs, and no one would even suspect her because, I mean, look at her!
Park Bo-young (Oh My Ghostess) stars as the protagonist, a pint-sized woman born with extraordinary strength who runs the risk of crushing whatever she lays a finger on if she isn’t too careful. She’s harbored a one-sided crush on Ji-soo (Fantastic) since grade school and wishes she had the flower-like daintiness he prefers in women.
Her Herculean strength nabs her a job as bodyguard to Park Hyung-shik (Hwarang), who plays an overbearing and eccentric second-generation chaebol and CEO of a gaming company. He sounds a bit like a loose cannon, in contrast to Ji-soo, whose character tends to go by the book, but I’m guessing he changes for the better as he starts falling for his small and mighty bodyguard.
In the teaser, Park Bo-young catches a creep groping the woman standing before him inside the subway train. She stares daggers at him, but he merely scoffs at her furious gaze. Cut to: the creep on the floor, crying in agony while clutching his mangled finger as Park Bo-young nonchalantly gets off at her stop with a tiny knowing grin on her face. Heh. You go, girl. The soundbite is, “The girl with hidden superhuman strength is coming.”
Next we see her approach Ji-soo and Park Hyung-shik drunkenly asleep and caressing each other on the pool table. Cut to her carrying both guys home, one fellow hilariously draped over each arm. She’s like a walking towel rack, except instead of towels, she has two guys just hanging there. They already had me at Park Bo-young and Ji-soo so this delightful teaser is icing on the cake!
Strong Woman Do Bong-soon is fully pre-produced and will premiere on JTBC on February 24 and air on Fridays and Saturdays.

Can't wait for this one to start but i hope in the end the message will be to just love yourself the way u are or change for yourself and not for anyone else...I suspect our leading hero will love her the way she is...Can't wait for the funny parts as well,it would be hilarious if he is a weakling ...Park Bo Young is sooo pretty even with that hairstyle!

Ugh, why do women who are being groped on the subway in Korean dramas just stand there?! But well done, Park Bo Young!

Surely the question should be why do men think they have the right to grope someone without their consent? Your question makes it sound like them just "standing there" is the problem, when it's not.

A lot of things can factor in when it comes to someone being "submissive" in situations like this. As someone who has being harassed before, it is incredibly difficult to stand up to people like that, especially in public settings. There are things like fear, shock, and certainly shame (because, sadly, those that experience any sort of sexual harassment or abuse are often pushed to feel ashamed about something that is by no means their fault) that you have to acknowledge.
Besides, you can see the woman's hand pushing his away, she's clearly trying to fend him off, but quietly. Let's be real here, we're not superhumans, and no one is to blame but the creep doing the groping.
Why do you think people like him tend to opt for such crowded, public places? Less likely to be caught, and less likely to be called out.
It's a sad truth, but I'm pretty sure most people would react similarly to the situation, even if we'd like to think that we'd do differently.
It's easy enough to criticise a situation when your not the one in it.

Oh, I definitely did not mean for it to sound like I think it's acceptable for men to grope. Nor did I mean to criticize or imply that anyone who doesn't react the way I would is to blame. I just felt extremely frustrated for the victim, and frustrated in general that this even happens.

I've always told my daughters that those guys count on you being too embarrassed to make a scene....so you should make sure that you embarrass THEM.

oh not all women, but if you fight and happen to injury the groper severely, the society is usually on the mans´ side. unless you manage to make it look like he just tripped and fell. I guess the better strategy would be to start yelling and pointing at him to draw attention, public shame, you know. but I think it is hard for most women to do in fear of being left in shame themselves when they cannot prove anything. that´s why every witness has to act up and not wait. the victims tend to think "they will not believe me!" It is sad though.
I havent exactly been groped, but I get furious even if someone leers at me or catcalls me. In highschool someone made a sleezy remark on my boobs and I pushed him on the road. I have found out the best stategy is to face and chase and threaten to kill them. I know I should call the police instead, but I must be hit with some dormant psycho genes... the surprise factor does it, doing something they wouldn´t expect.

I'm beyond excited for this, but I feel like the title (how it's phrased) is oddly similar to Weightlifting fairy kim bok job. Also I feel like the hair style/color of the main female leads is very similar too. And the premise kinda.
Still gonna watch though!

It's really a shame if viewers will negatively compare the two dramas (I'm not saying that you did), when this drama was announced (and started filming I think?) way before WF...

Awesome teaser! How satisfying, pervert got his comeuppance in the end lol - She's like a superhero XD That tiny woman might look cute but she sure can kick ass! That's why our two male leads better behave or they will suffer her wrath haha
There's a little more than one month left before the premiere, I can't waittttttttt...this is my most anticipated drama of 2017 and Hyungsik in his first leading role with Park Bo Young as his partner♥♥♥ I'm already in love with it XD

Sassy and strong Park Bo Young who is able to crush the men around her with a single finger!
I'm so in.
Hopefully she was stay crazy strong and tough all the way to the end and not suddenly lose her sass once she falls in love.
But I guess since she couldn't change even when she was crushing Ji-soo's character, I can have hope that she won't change even later on. *fingers crossed*

I'm even loving the sound of her name--Do Bong-soon. It already sounds like an underdog hero(ine)'s name. Gah, I'm rooting for Bong-soon/Park Bo-young first and foremost!

If this will start on February 24 then it will premiere just after Hwarang ends. Hwarang will end on February 21 (Tuesday) at it's 20th episode. While this will start at February 24 (Friday) 3 days after Hwarang ended. It's perfect because fans watching Hwarang especially the one who loves Saemmaekjong the most will have something to watch immediately. LOL
