Weightlifting was so amazing this week. Their romance is adorable to watch! I am so sad it only has a few episodes left :(

I haven't been able to start Hwarang yet but I'm excited to soon! I've just been so busy haha.

@Javabeans- ROFLOL! My thoughts about Hwarang are exactly the same, (and I think I commented about it here or Reddit)- it feels like a John Hughes high school movie from the 80's with prettier clothes, swords and without that terrible 80s makeup. The charming but poor heroine, the outcast with a heart of gold male lead and the impossibly rich and handsome second lead are fun tropes. They've even got the messed up parental problems. :P

Though Hwarang's initial pace was a bit slow, I think I am going to enjoy watching it. Despite people claiming it's a flop or whatever, it is difficult to beat the incumbent Teacher Kim's ratings, especially when that drama is 75% through. If Hwarang manages to achieve the balance of seriousness and lightness like MDBC and Weightlifting Fairy, I think it could go down as a great youth show.

- I adore Weightlifting Fairy so much! Lee Sung Kyung is doing an excellent job playing her frumpy, awkward character, and Nam Joo Hyuk as Joon Hyung looks like he's really in love. I wish they could resolve the Joon Hyung's mom bit as well as his starting trouble bit well in the remaining 3 episodes.

Marathoned Weightlifting Fairy last week because of everyone's comments. I should have waited until it ended, but oh well.

Anyway I got antsy because of the preemptions Thursday and started Surplus Princess again. I'd forgotten how good it was (at least at the beginning). It has an awesome Nam Joohyuk playing a Busan man complete with satoori, Bokju's dad playing the witch lol, a really really REALLY hot Song Jae Rim, super hilarious Kim Seulgi who does mukbang and has a loveline with Nam Joohyuk, and even Ra Miran as a drunk mermaid lol. If you're looking for a laugh, check it out.

So I marathoned Bok-ju this week and now I'm all caught up. Seriously, every time I see Lee Sung-kyung, I get jealous because of how beautiful she is. I actually love that she took this role as it makes her appear more endearing. Even though I already liked her in CITT, a character like Bok-ju helps a lot.

Now I'm trying to think of what drama to leave on in the background as I get some work done.

I Married a Job : Totally charming j-drama.

Weightlifting: A shout out to the writer and the actors for giving it their all. Just an easy, pleasing watch and I love that it is getting love.

Faither, I'll Take Care of You: I blame javabeans for starting this. I actually am most interested to see how the cousin situation works out.

Love You for a Thousand More: (Or something like that) web- drama. Helped me through a bout of the flu when I couldn't get a good night sleep. The lead actress makes this simple drama shine.

Goblin: I am most ambivalent about this one. I appreciate so much the production value and the actors but sometimes I find it flat out boring....a k-drama sin that is unforgivable with this talent. I'll take cracktastic hot mess over this, but KES keeps reeling me in in the last 10 minutes or so of most episodes. I know what she's doing, and I still fall for it. I am a tiny bit hopeful the intensity and story will really get going now. Or I'm delusional, I don't know which.

@javabeans - LOL my dad's the same way (he turns 91 next month). I have to warn him away from all the anachronistic, supernatural, and farcical fusion saguek they are producing these days. He really hates them. Heck, he wouldn't even watch 'Six Flying Dragons' because he assumed they were actually "flying" around. I had to explain that it's also known as "Roots of the Throne". And that other than the usual acrobatic sword masters you see in every sageuk, nobody is really flying around and it's full of historical characters and events about the founding of Joseon.

Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim: the romance as usual in this show did nothing to me however the clarification about Master Kim's past was riveting for me.
He got burned badly for compromising his principles, no wonder he became so hard. Han Seo Kyu was very impressive in all the confrontations, i deeply regret that there isn't an actor of the same caliber to face him. The antangonism with dr Do could have have been so much powerful.
I'm irritated by In Bum's habit to lie about his qualifications and experience just to get more practice, whatever the danger can be for the patient; but Dong Joo showed in the past the same level of competition, so i don't think that his lecture was convincing. Seo Jung would have been more legit to deliver the speech.
The episode was excellent, as is the general quality of the drama, which is very impressive considering the show is reaching its end and how mainstream it is based on its ratings. It's not spectacular but it's a definitely high quality drama.

This Week My Wife will have an affair: i put the drama on resume after the 1st episode and boy did i regret it! I ate my hat for sure: i binge watched the rest of the show in 2 days, and i had the hardest time to restrain myself and not watch faster.
I was transformed by it: from the beginning to the end , the part of the story related to the main characters was not only well written, acted and directed, it was also a deep look at the meaning we put on the bonds we form, the reason they last or not, how we define trust and love. A very inspiring tale about the modern couple and the new family.
I really really loved the addition of netizens commenting on Toycrane's posts, reflecting totally our positions as viewers. What a brilliant way to keep us higly invested ( by making an integral part of the show) and force us to reflect on our actions and jugdements. The comparison between what we are in our daily life and our online self was really thought provoking for a drama.

Despite its flaws (the failed dark comedy of the plot related to the lawyer and his rich wife), i can confidently say it's one the best show of 2016 for me, long after Signal of course but surprisingly before Age of Youth. I think the realism of the separation of Do Hyun Woo and Jung Soo Yeon, the quality of the acting of Lee Sun Kyun and Song Ji Hye really moved me in a quite unique way.

Tree with Deep Roots: (6/24) This show is a dream made true. I'm not talking about the casting only. Everything is so perfect that i must pinch myself to be sure that i didn't dream the last episode i saw, and the more i watch of it, the more violent i am with myself because i can't believe how this level of quality, fun and intelligence could have been gather for only one show. Just like it happened to me with Signal.
Please, don't wake me up. Life is hard enough like this. I need my addiction.

Waiting for those few small nuggets in Father I'll take care of you is friggin torture! Two eps fly by when you're using the ff button. Having said that, I am loving the kids swapping storyline, and am quite happy watching the family dynamics when it concerns the two brothers living under one roof. The only plot line I'm not digging is Kim Jae Won's - which is a mighty shame, coz he's a wonderful actor!

Legend of the Blue Sea: Just one ep this week, but I really enjoyed that JJ and Chung had their moments together. But my gosh, the Joseon ending really stabbed me in the heart and is so sad that I hope that JJ and Chung will have a happy ending.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo: Love this couple so so much!! Every time I see BJ and JH together, I think that THIS is k-drama and real-life couple goals!! I'm happy that BJ finally got jealous and I love how JH takes care of BJ even when they're having conflicts. ❤️

7 First Kisses: LOL at the multiple endings. I think I'd choose LJG, the church oppa. XD

Hwarang: I liked the emerging bromance between SW and the other boys, especially SH. I'm already looking forward to their training together. I also love the moments when SW smiles or gets all shy around AR. Totally agree about the show being like a high school football team. =P

Love Through A Millennium II (aka Shuttle Love Millennium) C-drama: Finally done with this series. Still gotta applaud Wei Daxun in this dual role. He played both characters so believably different that each had his own charm. The ending was all right in terms of how they resolved the whole time-travelling or historical factor. It didn't wow me, but it seemed to work fine given how I'm sure viewers wanted both star-crossed couples to end up happily together somehow.

Miss In Kiss T-drama: I actually don't mind this version of the lead characters. They are cute and the plot seems to be following the original storyline for now.

Hwarang, RDTK, and Goblin = These are my current, regular dramas. Hwarang really picked up in EP 4 when most of the main characters are gathered together now. Funny and lightweight so far. RDTK is still consistently good and heart-warming. Goblin has the slowest pace compared to the other two. As usual, the last few scenes are the most captivating for me. Grim Reaper's & Sunny's scenes. ♥♥♥

I also wanted to let yall know I started Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju and I like it! It's cute and sweet and funny. ^^ I only finished 3 episodes. I want to binge watch it. xD Now I wish I had started it sooner.

Goblin: They continue to save the plot only for the last 10 minutes of each episode. Sigh..

Solomon's Perjury: It's getting more interesting. The careless dismissal from other students regarding many incidents in their school felt too real, and it's painful to watch. And also, seems like those kids are onto something far bigger and scarier than what they anticipated.

Hwarang: It's shaping up nicely. Love the glimpses we get on all the boys interaction. And I got my very first SLS. Sammaekjong is just too swoony.

Potato Star: This sitcom sure takes its sweet time to unfurl all the lovelines. But now that the romance plot finally kicked in on all front, it turned into a really addictive show. I easily gobbled almost 20 eps this week alone.

I like Father I'll Take Care Of You, I rarely fast forward, and i like the switched pcousins twist, i was so excited for the switch because both boys are complaining about their mothers, so I wanted to see what they will do now.

I don't like Eun Dong's character, it's so childish and stupid, i wish the writer would've written her more smart and keept the cheerful part.

on girlfriday's comment: "I’m eager for Hwarang training to begin though, because I find it amusing that the hero might be popular against his will."
I couldn't agree more. I loved that after the soccer game Seo Joon was just all 'hmm okay we won it's over, gg, gg, wait why is everyone screaming, please stop touching me, I'm literally only here because she said so'

I'm looking forward to similar facials once he properly enters Hwarang.
'I'm just here because the psycho queen threatened to kill my surrogate father if I didn't, and also to find the guy who killed my bff. That's it. So please, STOP TOUCHING ME.'

Haha bokjoo and joonhyung are so giddy in love. And im so giddy watching them. Too cute. Too sweet for words. The downside is preempted. The upside is Nam joohyuk and Lee sung kyung got nods n awards. The best upside is 3 episodes in the new week.

Weightlifting Fairy: just makes me SO happy, all the time. (Even when it makes me cry.) Their deep, supportive friendship slowly morphing into romance is basically everything I want in a relationship, and - while I'd happily watch only them for 50 episodes or more - I love that it's not the only relationship the show cares about.

Goblin: Some shows I watch for the plot and/or characters, this one I think I watch (and love) for the ambiance of it. It feels poetic and pensive (but also regularly makes me laugh out loud), and for some reason kind of reminds me of hanging out in my university's Language & Literature department.

Legend of the Blue Sea: Like someone else said before, I'm always fully engrossed when I'm watching, but I don't really think about it during the rest of the week. That ending this week really hurt, though.

Solomon's Perjury: This show really likes to make the dramatic moments dramatic, but somehow I don't mind. The characters are interesting and (most of them) endearing, and I can't wait to learn more about what happened. (We couldn't even get one episode this week??)

I don't really have time for anything else, but man, Javabeans' description of Hwarang actually makes me want to give it a shot.

I love, love, love weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju, I talk about it to everyone, K-drama watcher or not, my sister finally gave in and marathoned it, the next day she came to me all smiles and in love, LOL! I just love how this show makes you feel happy all the time, Bok-ju and Joon-hyung are the cutest!

I loved this week's episode of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim. I the fake fights and the fist fights were all just hilarious. And I agree with chocolate, I believe in In-bum, he's not like his father, I'm just going to wait for him to prove me right!

I like Hwarang so far, it's entertaning and how javabeans described it, it feels exactly like that, I'd watch it, who doesn't like Bromance and swords?!

Still watching Legend of the blue sea, but I find myself putting off watching it till I don't have anything else to watch. It's not that I don't like it. I like it when I'm watching it but the moment the episode ends, I forget about it.

I'm watching Goblin too, and I JUST LOVE the Reaper. I don't know if it is because of my love for Lee Dong Wook or his character or both but I'm more invested in his story with Sunny than I am with the main couple's, especially now that we know who they were in their past lives.

Dropping by to say that I marathoned 12 episodes of Weightlifting Fairy last week since it gained so much love here. What a lovely drama. So funny and heartening. Underrated for sure.

And... I marathoned Age of Youth and I just finished it half an hour ago. Slept at 4am watching until episode 5 and continued right after I wake up. New year was just another day gone by. What a gem. Underrated. Slice of life done right. Glad I could marathon it. What a joy to sit through. If not for the accolades, I wouldn't watch it. I thought it was just another annoying fluffy drama. Man was I wrong. Reminded me of the really good jdramas that I have watched. My year ended and started with an emotional high.
