Park Shin-yang to come back for Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho 2

Hit underdog-for-the-people legal drama Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho will be returning to television with a Season 2. And continuing the good news, Park Shin-yang, who was the main character in the original, has agreed to reprise his role! There was a lot of wrangling to try and keep him on for an extension during the original series that never panned out, but I guess persistence really pays off, because now we’ve got an entire new season with him to look forward to.
Based on a webtoon by the same name, Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho was a successful spring drama for KBS this year, at its highest reaching 17.3% viewership. There’s even an American version in the works, with CBS currently in negotiations for rights to create a remake. The plot is about a prosecutor who has everything, but makes the choice to stand against the rampant corruption in the justice system. He becomes an informant to bring down the corrupted, and in doing so loses everything he had. When he hits rock bottom, he picks himself back up and becomes an attorney who defends the weak and fights for justice.
The second season of Neighborhood Lawyer will be produced through a collaboration between NEW (Next Entertainment World) and Synergy International, which is Park Shin-yang’s agency. NEW was primarily a film investing firm, but they have since expanded to producing dramas and musical releases. They’ve also taken over CGV Sindorim which managed a chain of multiplex theaters called Cine Station Q. The last drama they produced was Descended from the Sun, which was such a huge hit that talking like Song Joong-ki’s character in that drama became a cultural fad for a time.
None of the other actors from the first season of Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho, including Kang So-ra, Ryu Soo-young, and Park Sol-mi, have signed on for the second season. However, NEW is taking this next project seriously, having already signed Park Shin-yang and approached three PDs to direct. While nothing is set in stone, they plan on having it air in the latter half of 2017.

I want her back to dramaland, but I am afraid that she will be underused like Kang So Ra if she is offered for this drama.
She is seriously need a very good drama and rediscovery role for her career. The Village had more potential to do well in cable actually, instead on public stations. I hope she will be back in 2017 with good drama and role. I want to see her more in badass role.

How did Song Joong-ki's character talk in Descended From the Sun? I watched the first seven episodes of that drama and I don't remember that he talked in any particular way.

They're talking about military-style speech. Koreans in the military use certain endings when talking, "da-na-kka", and avoid using the common polite "-yo". It's pretty distinctive, hence why it was a trend after DOTS.

All 4 leads in fact, spoke to each other formally, for most of the drama. Two love stories bloomed yet everyone spoke to each other formally right until the end.

Ooh, I have no problem w/ having a season two of Neighborhood Lawyer. So long as PSH is signed onto the project, I think the 2nd season will be alright.

HOW DID THEY EVER CONVINCE Park Shin-yang?!!! Whoaaaah I am so happy right now. I loved Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho, and the way it ended screams like those American series which wrapped up nicely, BUT NEEDS another season. Thank God for Season 2.
AND PLS push through the love story with Kang So-ra. They had magnificent chemistry!!
Idk what's the matter with Park Shin-yang. EVERY DRAMA of his requires top #1 ratings (except Painter of the Wind). ALL OF HIS DRAMAS hit the ratings chart and DON'T falter, even 'Painter.' Eg. Lovers in Paris, War of Money, Sign, Lawyer Jo Deul-ho. He has true eyes for good scripts and he embodies all his characters. Shucks! How magnificent is that!

I'm happy that he is back in dramaland. He doesn't have that dashing look like other actors but boy, he is charismatic! 2016 looks like a really profitable year for KBS. I hope we will see more great dramas from them. Still over the moon with MDBC.

Hmm, I'm not sure what more they could tell with a second season. But tbh, as long as they don't pull a Let's Eat 2 and randomly break up couples to bring in new love interests, then I am all for it.
