Lee Yo-won returns to the big screen with warm family movie

Lee Yo-won, Esom

No matter what Lee Yo-won takes on next, it’ll be hard to top her hotheaded character in Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-ki, which people are calling her rediscovery role (though honestly, she was plenty discovered before, as a regular leading actress in dramaland). I do think she turned a corner with edgier characters beginning with Empire of Gold, and Ms. Temper only solidified the fact that she should only ever play badasses. So is it a little weird that I hope she’s not playing a nice older sister in her new family movie?

Lee will be returning to the big screen in the new movie Youngest, about four siblings: Funny character actor Jung Man-shik (Entertainer) has been cast as the eldest brother, Lee Yo-won will play the second child, Esom (Like for Likes) will be third child, and the youngest sibling will be child actor Jung Joon-won (he was most recently in A Melody to Remember, but I remember him as young Lee Seung-gi in Gu Family Book).

Wow, that’s a thirty-year age difference between the first and the last child, at least with the actors’ real ages. The movie’s title is a colloquial word for the youngest sibling, often a late baby, so that makes sense that he’d stick out for being considerably younger than the others. There isn’t a lot of plot information, other than the fact that it’s a warm human drama about the four siblings.

Lee Yo-won’s character will be a passionate reporter, and Esom will be her unemployed younger sister who dreams of working in the movie industry. I’m looking forward to the sister relationship — I like Esom’s quirky vibe, and Lee Yo-won’s on a hot streak lately, so hopefully it’s a meaty role.

Directing is Ma Dae-yoon (Real Fiction), and production will begin shortly for a release later this year.

Lee Yo Won as Ok Da Jung has created a considerable share of Fans.

I'm one of the admirers and it was my 1st time watching her in any role. It also feels like Ms. Temper has left a strong Impression on a lot of people and now people will compare every new role of Lee Yo Won with Ok Da Jung.

Lee Yo Won is shinning brightly in 2016 so far. I was amazed to came across the fact via her interview that she has spent 18 Years into the tv media where actors lose their value easily.

Overall Lee Yo Won is now one of my top 5 Female Actors.

Yeah.

I was actually disappointed but after remembering its good moments and listening its OST again and again has made me fall in love with it.
This time i have put logic aside and let my heart decide it's good or not.
Ofcourse, OK Da Jung is the real driving force that changed my heart for good.

I usually end up Bashing Kdramas. But this time i'm letting Jtbc off the hook.
Lee Yo Won put good effort into the show and it reached us Fans heart and that's all matters.

I'm the same. The plot had some holes, but Ok Da Jung is still an amazing character. I still haven't found another good kdrama to move onto.

My brother doesn't watch dramas but He did watch Ms. Temper for comedy and later on got engaged into the story.

Right now i have switched to shows based on my mood. If i want to see some parents-children love then i right away move to Family Dramas and so i've diversified my portfolio.

For Romance it is : Another Oh Hae Young.
For Super Hero action : MY Lawyer Mr. Jo.

Good Content : Misaeng aka Incomplete Life.

For emotional purposes : My daughter or My Mom or any female character name in the title i.e My Daughter Seo Young. Quite strong of a sister/daughter/wife/daughter-in-law she is.

I have became a huge of fan of her started from Queen Seon Dok , Empire of Gold and now MS Temper.
Less controversial and focus on acting; she is the real actress. On top of that, have a stable married life (she got married young). Agree with GF, badass character suits her more.

Jong Joon Won is handsome and adorable. I loved his bravado in gu family book. I actualy love the movie description whic is suprising. It sounds so warm. Currently watching King 2 Hearts right now and I recognise the first sibling as Ha Ji Won's comrade/friend. I really felt for him with his girl's generation crush. I can't wait to finish and get into the recaps!

"she should only ever play badasses"

I second this.. Lee Yo Won should ever play badass, fierce character esp in dramaland when this kind of character is very rare.

Ha ha LOL. For some reason Jung Man Shik always cracks me up ever since his villainous role in King of Dramas. He does act well though. I also miss Lee Yo Won. She's a good actress, but none of her more recent dramas have caught my interest.

Whether in taking a long break or choosing projects she sure doesn't do things by half.

I have a soft spot for Lee Yo Won - she was the one who pulled me into kdrama with her performance as tomboy Deokman in Queen Seondeok. Before that everyone was only this Korean actor or that Korean actress lol.

Yep, Lee Yo-Won should stay away from those shrinking violet roles. She's much more compelling as a badass.

I love this kind of family. Why can't it be weekend drama. This set up kinda similar to movie A Dynamite Family.

Are the children from the same parents or different parents for 2 kids.

I'm happy Lee Yo-Won is going to be doing more work. New fan here from watching her as Ms Temper. She was such a queen in that drama! I do hope she picks more badass characters in the future, but it never hurts to try a variety.

Lee Yo-won was like my favorite part of Empire of Gold. She was so good in that role so I was ecstatic when she took on Ms. Temper. I'm really glad she will start getting more interesting scripts! I'll be looking forward to this film^^

I've liked Lee Yo Won since her breakout A.F.R.I.K.A. She was a dedicated actress but my rediscovery for her was Queen Seondeok. It's true that Mishil is the driving force for me to watch that one but Mishil without Deokman is no good at all. And her relationship with loyal Yu Shin Ram and fragile Bidam makes me stick even after Mishil's death. She again proves she's a devoted actor by wearing silly costumes in Ms.Temper. She's an actress who portrays better at acting with different other characters than her own. Like her relationship with Woojoo, her team and her mother.

So i should check out Ms. Temper?

Loved Lee Yo-won in Empire of Gold. I'm seriously hoping for that team do a second season with her and Go Soo. I had it hard for the two of them to work it out.
