GIMME. I’ve been excited about Glory Day (also called One Way Trip) since it was cast last spring, and that was when Ji-soo was the big breakout after Angry Mom. Now that Answer Me 1988 and Ryu Joon-yeol have happened, I’m pretty much climbing the walls to get my hands on this movie, about four teenage rebels and one unforgettable night.

The film is the first from CJ E&M’s Butterfly Project, aimed at debuting new directorial talent. Glory Day will be the feature debut of writer-director Choi Jung-yeol, who won a Blue Dragon award and a Daejong (Grand Bell) award for his short The Unbearable Heaviness of Nagging. Ji-soo, Ryu Joon-yeol, Kim Hee-chan (Little Bro in Cheese in the Trap, Little Bro in The Producers), and EXO’s Suho make up the foursome of friends who head out for one last hurrah before one of them enlists in the Marines.

Their night out quickly goes awry when they rescue a woman from an abusive man, and end up on the run from the police because of it. And in the midst of that, they’ll be involved in another accident that turns them into suspects. Well that sounds like a hell of a night, even for a troublemaker teen.

Ji-soo is the principled rebel of the group (with a side of wounded puppy, right? Because that’s his specialty), while Suho is the pivotal character who becomes a dilemma for the rest of his friends. Ryu Joon-yeol is the one who makes a crucial decision in a moment of danger, and Kim Hee-chan is a tender-hearted character who shakes things up unexpectedly. It’s not much to go on, but I get the sense that I don’t want to know too much before watching the film, and that the tension will come from the boys’ personalities and group dynamic as much as the crazy events of the night.

The posters are beautiful and angsty, though does someone want to tell them that GLDY isn’t really the way to abbreviate Glory Day, or anything for that matter? So close to perfect, yet so, so far.

Woohoo, Glory Day is headed to theaters in March.

Do they ever show Korean films with English subtitles in Korea? I'll be there in April and I'd absolutely go see it if that was an option. I need to see my puppies Ji Soo and Jun Yeol on the big screen.

Yes, some movies are screened with English subs, but only at certain cinemas. You can check the weekly schedule here: http://www.koreanfilm.or.kr/jsp/schedule/subtitMovie.jsp. I watched the Shin Mina movie "My Love My Bride" with eng subs while on vacation in Seoul in Nov '14.

@lol Pretty sad. Actually, at first, I though Ryu Jun Yeol was the least good looking guy in answer me, but after watching the entirety of the show, I felt he was handsomest by the end of the show. I think his acting is stellar and he is able to convey emotions - even through a stoic veneer. I felt his heartbreak when he gave up on Duk Seon. I am now a huge fan of his.

he's not a person who make girls go go ga ga over the first look like Park Bogum, but once he talks people captivated to listen to him and even sit for more than 2 hours just to listen to him. he has brain and use his head on his shoulder more than his face. that what made him stand out. in the entertainment industry where people only showing cute looks everywhere, a unique looks and smart brain and smart menthality like him surely a fresh air.

Ladies don't get your panties in a bunch Ryu Joon yul is not good looking but he's not butt ugly either. Kdrama could use a few more guys that are good actors but not simply pretty boys (read, idols). If he's a good enough actor or has enough on screen charisma he will seem attractive despite his actual physical appearance. Some people "grow" on you. I think Song Kang ho is one of the sexiest men alive and he ain't handsome.

there's alot out there that not only showing his looks to get cast. Song kangho was one of them..charisma and acting skill is what they need. they surely would not pass being idol with cutie face, but PD would not cast actor only for their look.

And this has to be the most fortuitous casting ever - who knew Ryu Joon-yeol would blow up the way he did, when he first got cast? And now you have TWO guys in the cast who basically won the heart of every girl in Korea after failing to get the girl in their dramas lol. (I'm still waiting on news that someone, somewhere will cast Ji-soo and Jung Eun-ji together in another drama, as OTP this time)

I hope it does well at the box office, March tends to be slow season on Korean movies. Though that could work to their advantage, if they have little competition.

I'm so stoked for this movie, I've been craving a good coming-of-age movie for ages! The posters are on point but 'GLDY' lol... reminds me of some artists I listen to, like SBTRKT (subtract) or the NBHD (neighbourhood) ahaha.

It's hard to become a fan of newbie actors because they don't have a lot of projects especially with RJY since he has become my ultimate bias. He only had Socialphobia last year and that wasn't enough for me.

But, with this movie and luckily many more and especially YOF(!!!), I'm a very happy fangirl. Hopefully he gets cast in a drama soon.

I remember keeping up with this ever since it was announced last year and I'm so glad it's finally coming out. If I remember correctly, the director said they spent four months casting the characters and that he wanted to cast newer faces who he expected to be part of the new generation of rising stars ;w; He was spot-on with Junyeol, so I totally wanna trust in the whole cast lol

From what I know of the plot though, the movie's gonna make me miserable T__T so much angst
