Gu Hara, Jo Yeo-jung

  • Gu Hara (City Hunter) and Jo Yeo-jung (Divorce Lawyer in Love) are being courted for Babysitter, a four-episode special airing after the early conclusion of Moorim School on KBS. About an affluent household comprised of three children, their parents and a couple who cares for the kids, Gu is being wooed for the babysitter role — a character who speaks five languages and is fatally attractive, while Jo is positively considering the role of birth mother. The mystery thriller will premiere on March 14. [Sports Chosun, TV Report]
  • Passion Heaven, starring Kris Wu, Hangeng and Joo Won (Yong-pal) as men all vying for the attentions of Lu Shan, is currently doing final shoots in Korea and China. Kris is the lead, and losing his parents when he was young has resulted in him turning into a social misfit. He’ll meet and fall in love with cheerful and carefree Lu Shan, but he’ll face competition in the form of Joo Won, a chaebol heir-type, and Hangeng, a sweet and mildmannered military officer. Passion Heaven began filming last July and will be released in China on April 29. [My Daily]

  • Han Joo-wan, Kim Rae-won, Han Seok-kyu

  • Han Joo-wan (Hwajeong) is prepping to join Han Seok-kyu and Kim Rae-won in The Prison. In the film about a “king” inside the penitentiary (Han Seok-kyu) and a prosecutor (Kim) who gets jailed in order to take him down, Han Joo-wan will play an assistant to Kim. The film also has cast Shin Sung-rok, Jung Woong-in (Sweet Savage Family), Jo Jae-yoon (Last) and Choi Sung-won (No-eul in Answer Me 1988). Filming begins this month. [TV Report]
  • Special Citizen has added Ryu Hae-young (Bora in Answer Me 1988) to its cast, and she’ll take on the role of campaign advisor to a political opponent of incumbent Seoul mayor Choi Min-shik. Kwak Do-won (Suspicious Housekeeper) will play Choi’s aide, while Shim Eun-kyung (Cantabile Tomorrow) will chair a youth reform committee. The movie aims to show an insider view of politics, and will begin filming shortly. [Osen]
  • Yeon Woo-jin (Divorce Lawyer in Love, Marriage Not Dating) recently held his first fan meeting in Japan. He met with 1,000+ fans in Tokyo on February 6, and said, “I came because I wanted to gift the fans with nice memories, but instead my heart is full because I am the one who received warmth and love. With my heart in the right place, and thinking of today, I will return the gesture by giving my all to future roles.” [Star News]

The Prison's cast got me really excited. But sigh... I think I need to wait till later this year before they release it.
And that actor Kris Wu who became the lead in Passion Heaven, is he that ex-boyband member?

So don't bash me, but Gu Hara has always seemed a tad bit off to me. Not sure what it is, but something in her eyes always seems slightly disconnected and cold. So I actually think a fatal attraction role could be really believable from her.

Gu Hara is supposed to play someone fatally attractive? I adore her on variety shows and love her energy on stage, but she's doomed to look about twelve years old forever. All I can do is wish her luck, I suppose.

At least this is only four episodes long, I guess so that they can cover the gap left by the cancelled Moorom School episodes.

I hope her acting's got better since the last time we saw her, anyway - she's gorgeous but based on her last couple of performances, she should stick to idolling.

'Stick to idolling'.. but she is no longer an idol. What's wrong with her trying on acting. Even the likes of Jin Se Yeon can get a leading role, Goo Hara is way better than her.

Wow! good for YWJ gathering 1000+ fans. hallyu is declining in Japan (not like what it used to be). There's a pachinko place I always pass by in Kyoto where they put up pictures of rising Korean actors. Yon-sama's picture is like a permanent fixture. the ones I saw were Jang Geun Suk, Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Jong Suk...

yay for Ryu Hae-young booking her next acting job, hope the film turns out well. I loved her as Bora in 1988.

Also, I see Gong Seung-yeon's name among the tags but no mention of her in the post - has she confirmed something?

Who is more popular/bigger name to fit the bill for a male lead, Hangeng or Kris Wu? I know Kris is massive in China at the moment, but I never thought of Hangeng being second lead to him. I really thought Hangeng became such a big star in China after leaving Super Junior. Would someone willing to clarify/answer my curiosity? Thanks

I was surprised to see JW's name become the second lead over Kris Wu. Well, maybe because it is China and Kris is more popular than Joo Won. I am also curious about Hangeng...

But i guess it is based on popularity.

Hangeng also popular in China, his movie 'So Young' hit box office and he got many good comment for that movie. I've been watch that movie (because that is the first movie whos been directed by my fave actress, Vicki Zhao) and I think Han Geng was really good. Maybe because Kris have been popular because his ex boyband so the producer thought they can hit box office if he beeing lead. As for JW when he take this role, hes not too popular in China, this movie began shoot on 2013. I'll be wait this movie because JW will play the villain I miss him beeing cruel like Goo Ma Joon in BLAD.

Though I have no idea about Kara as a musical group, I have seen their series and was okay. But this girl Gu Hara... Wow, I've grown accustomed to white powered pale faces and plastic surgery of the 50year old but a surgeon who's using as a prototype a Thalassemia patient? I find it preposterous and insulting for all the Mediterrean people fighting the disease.

What exactly didn't you get? @korini is right, the plastic surgeon made her look like a Caucasian suffering from this disease. It's an aesthetic "approach" that seems to be quite popular among "plastic" girls (and sometimes, even boys) in k-ent. Their re-shaped faces always remind me of Thalassemia patients I've seen in Cyprus. A bizarre and frightening fact indeed...
