Seeking whiskey and missing mommy in Youths Over Flowers in Iceland

Oh I think I’m going to like this installment of Na PD’s travel variety show Youths Over Flowers. I already have a particular fondness for the Youths series, but the glimpse of actors Jung Woo (Answer Me 1994) and Jo Jung-seok (Oh My Ghostess) so hapless and out of their element is just as funny as I’d hoped. The self-proclaimed B4 for “babo brothers” (dummy brothers) also includes Jung Sang-hoon (SNL Korea) and late addition Kang Haneul (Misaeng), on a winter getaway-slash-kidnapping to Iceland.
The teaser opens on what looks like a scene out of Jung Woo’s movie Himalaya, as the group treks up a snowy mountain. And wouldn’t you know it — Na PD is the first person to give up halfway and announce that he’s not going to go any further. He really is the wimpiest evil overlord ever. So then they just drag him along and give him no choice in the matter.
I love the collection of random quotes from the boys. Jung Woo: “I want to go home.” Jo Jung-seok: “It’s great… but I miss my mom. Mom~!” Jo Jung-seok seems to get by using his smartphone’s translator, and asks it helpful things like, “Where do they sell whiskey?” and “Give me a hot dog.” Pfft. It’s still better than Jung Woo, who just just panics and speaks Korean to everyone, expecting them to understand him.
Kang Haneul starts the trip holding Jung Woo’s hand and singing about how he’d follow hyung to the fires of hell, and then a week later, he’s saying in an interview that he’d like to just pitch Jung Woo into hellfire. The nature looks pretty spectacular on this trip, and it looks like they get rewarded for all their suffering when they catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis.
Youths Over Flowers in Iceland premieres Friday, January 1. Woohoo, can’t wait!

Is it just me or is Kang Haneul getting cuter each passing day!! Can't wait for this show! All 4 them look so funny and out of their element! I hope someone subs this though.

Na PD's magical touch.
Other than his ability to drag famous people abroad and make the destination looks too appealing (poor my saving), i wonder how he ensemble these famous people and work it out so attractive.
I mean how he and the team so sure that these people will go along great-ly?
As for me, not every friend of mine is fun to travel with :D
Maybe there was some script and the celebs obediently follow it. But...in some scene on the travelogue diary (grandpas, noona and youth) the situation is just too random. :))
I still believe its Na PD midas touch.
And i hope he will put Indonesia in his next project - not Bali but Raja Ampat maybe with Papua extreme beautiful scenery and unique culture. That'd be great.

Damn, looks like they are having so much fun (I want to jump in the car and travel with them!). I imagine they get more life-time memories out of a trip like this than any other project they might do.
I'm also really glad they are getting to experience the world – and that PD Na takes care not to select the "typical" destinations (London, Paris, New York, etc.) but places that particularly people who don't travel regularly wouldn't think of right away.
I wonder if they ran across anyone that recognised them in Iceland? Icelandic kdrama fans, I mean?

I recently read a story in the Nov 9 New Yorker about the volunteer search-and-rescue crews that cover Iceland because the weather and terrain are so challenging, especially for tourists, so that gives me hope that this will end well ? !
And, oh- the poor crew!

I might just check this out to see who this Na PD is, that everyone's been talking about. Looks funny too - if anything, being the fish out of water (and in extreme cold too) can lead to some funny situations.

OMG I NEED THIS IS MY LIFE. I think I just went through all the possible emotions I could feel just with that one teaser. I was in awe of the beauty of Iceland then went rolling on the floor laughing at how cute and clueless they were. Then, I found myself tearing up at the end. Ahhh, I'm so ready for this!
Jungwoo looks like the baboest of all.

Ah! I went to Iceland last January and did a self-driving trip very similar to this with some friends. Watching this trailer makes me want to go back so bad! The conditions were extreme, but it was the most fun I've had in my life. I recognize all the places featured, and even had a hot dog from that same hotdog stand.

I love love love love Iceland because the country is so beautiful - undeniably one of my most memorable (if not THE most) trips ever! Everything in that country is amazing and this (travelogue?) variety show makes me want to go back so badly. Love Na PD and his magic touch honestly. I wonder how any actors dare to even converse with him now given that the likelihood of being hijacked on a sudden life changing trip is so high!! Hahaha

It looks so much fun!! lol @ Jung Woo who just starts speaking korean to the car rental.. He really seems to have Trash-like personality (= weird goofy) minus the hidden genius and dirtiness (I hope). I am beginning to really like KHN the more I see him..
