Ji Jin-hee, Lee Jia fall in love across time and in dreams for Snow Lotus

It’s only a two-episode drama, but SBS has announced an airdate later this month for Snow Lotus, a fantasy melodrama starring Ji Jin-hee (Blood, I Have a Lover) and Lee Jia (Thrice Married Woman) that traverses dreams and reality and apparently also the time-space continuum, since the love story incorporates a timeline a thousand years in the past.

Ji Jin-hee plays the CEO of a gaming company who uses his own dreams as the basis for an online game called Lucid Dream. Lee Jia plays a part time employee on leave from art school, and when she reads Ji Jin-hee’s script, she finds herself thrown into confusion when it starts coinciding with her own dreams.

It seems the dreams will take place in the past, though it’s not clear whether the love story only unfolds in the dreams or in both the fantasy and reality realms. Also acting in the drama is Ji Jin-hee’s Blood co-star Ahn Jae-hyun, who plays a man from the thousand-years-ago timeline, while Seo Ji-hye (Punch) plays Ji Jin-hee’s fiancée in the present.

I’m curious as to SBS’s scheduling of this two-parter, because it’s been given the 11 p.m. timeslot on Wednesday, November 11. It’s set to broadcast as a double-header, which means it’ll air after prime-time drama Village: Secret of Achiara and until 1 a.m., which is strange time to put a new show. Are they just trying to burn it off quickly? Why not do two nights in a row? I’m confused.

(Caveat: SBS did also announce that the baseball series WBSC Premiere 12 may shift the timeslot, depending on the outcome of South Korea’s game with the Dominican Republic.)

Intriguing storyline to begin, but I found it to be a bit boring and predictable the second half. I liked the female lead.

Oh, well this is an interesting twist on having a past-life-memory, namely that you turn it into a media property and someone else recognizes it.

This sounds really interesting - I hope someone manages to sub it. The only thing I have seen (and liked for ji jin hee) is 'dae jang geum' and for lee ji ah was 'me too, flower' so I hope this is good cos the storyline sounds different.

Also, I am seriously starting to get annoyed by all these baseball games, she was pretty got cancelled as a result and now its momentum is off-kilter.

Well, there's certainly fanbase for baseball too.. Haha..
Especially when it comes to SK national team.

It's strange isn't it that all public broadcasters take turns to air baseball? MBC, then KBS last week and cancelled The Merchant, then SBS now.

Interesting, there seem to be a few one-act dramas out these days.

(I'm still waiting for the Yoon Doo-joon/Kim Seul-gi one, all I know is that it's filming but I have no idea about time slots/airing dates :( )

Unpopular opinion, but I am really missing Ahn Jae Hyun. I want to see him in a drama again, maybe not as a lead, but the second lead, or hero's cool friend. He really does great at those roles.

A cameo in a 2-episode drama doesn't satisfy my thirst at all.

Oh I love these kind of 2 episodes romance sageuks. Brought back memories of "The Story of Hyang Dan,"with Seo Ji-hye and the adorable Choi Si-won (love with both of them).

Seo Ji-hye is perfect in sageuks and I wish she was the lead here. Lee Jia was so hard to watch in her first and only sageuk "The Legend."

Ji Jin-hee is like fine wine but I'm still trying to erase that hot mess known as The Great Seer. Hopefully this will do it lol.

how come Ji Jin Hee is stay young and not much different from his younger days? @_@

It is refreshing to see him in another drama, because I Have A Lover is so much heartbreaking (in a good way, not boring). :)

The story line remind me of J-Drama where Oguri Shun as the lead who also the owner of the successful software games or something. But minus the time travelling.

Definitely will watch this one. I love time travel or cross millennium or multi-lifetime love story, like both leads, and hope this will be good in all aspects. Hence it could satisfy the hopeless romantic me. ^^

Anyone watching I Have A Lover should start from Ep 10 or 11 to know the current story before going back to Ep 1-10. My two cents ?

I have to admit that I took a peek at this drama this past weekend and it wasn't half bad.

Ji Jin-hee was quite interesting.

I AGREE OMG I started with Episode 10. Now I already caught up. I feel my life is going to end if I wait 1 second longer. That drama is... ARGH... Bravo!

I love it so much. My heart grips every single moment. Darn it! Darn it! That drama is so D-A-R-N awzm.

Million thanks, Nathan!

For others who haven't watched it at all:
Start with Episode 11 onwards
