Jo Jung-seok considers role as D.O.’s Hyung

I can only think of Jo Jung-seok as Chef right now, but I guess he has to go back to movies once Oh My Ghostess is over. It’s not like he can neglect his film career or Ghostess can keep going on forever, right? Sadface. But this next project sounds like an interesting one: Jo Jung-seok is being courted to headline the new movie Hyung, in which he’d play the titular big brother to EXO’s D.O. (I Remember You), who is currently considering the offer to play Little Bro.
The film comes from writer Yoo Young-ah (Miracle of Cell No. 7) and director Kwon Soo-kyung (Barefoot Ki-bongie), and is a human drama about — what else — two brothers. All that we’re told about the plot is that Little Bro will experience an unfortunate accident (or cause one, who knows), and go through growing pains in the aftermath.
I wish we could know something more about the two brothers’ relationship, or anything at all about Hyung since he’s the title character. I’m happy with the casting, since D.O. has proven himself as a supporting actor in really short but meaty roles (It’s Okay, It’s Love and I Remember You), and Jo Jung-seok is as fantastic at dramatic stuff as he is at comedy. I think I could buy them as brothers, and I’m sure they’ll wring some tears with their brotherly love.
Hyung plans to finalize casting within the coming week and start shooting in October.

I can't get enough of Jo Jung-seok but I'm glad he is going back to do more movies.
I'm going to miss seeing him on tv but he is also a great stage and movie actor. Maybe he'll be back in Dramaland before his movie comes out.

There is literally NO costar, male or female, that Jo Jung-seok doesn't have great chemistry with lol. From Lee Seung-gi to Song Kang-ho to Park Bo-young and IU, he's great with them all!
I suspect D.O. will be another nice addition to that list (but wasn't he supposed to do a movie with Kim So-hyun, is that a go?)

nahh.. D.O already start filming movie with kim so hyun. So, D.O may accept this role. It sound meaty and D.O is the best in melo or thriller. This thing is nothing compared to lee jong suk schedule last year with non stop filming dramas and movies(no breathing, hot young blood, dr stranger, pinocchio)

His movie with Kim So-hyun is currenly filming and finishes filming in early September. "Hyung" is supposed to start in October, so it works out, though he'll be quite busy.

Oh my gosh, i was just about to say the same thing. Everyone is going on about how kind of similar the two look or how great they are at acting (agree with both) but all i could think about was how amazing Do Kyung Soo and Jo Jung Seok would sound together in a duet. I loved the song DO did for 'Cart' and i'd love for them to do a duet for 'Hyung's theme song. It would fit coz they're brothers right.
Can't wait for this project to start and hope the casting stays the same.
Also can't wait to watch 'Pure Love'. Kyung Soo and So Hyun!

Agreed! I really hope Kyungsoo gets the chance to sing more OSTs. He has such a beautiful voice for a song like "Scream" from Cart and I'd love to hear more. A duet with JJS would just be amazing, they both have great voices. I'm excited for Pure Love too -- Kyungsoo and Sohyun looked so cute together in the pictures from the press event they did recently. They have similar shaped smiles!!

JJS was also great with the female actress who played the princess in TK2Hs. I can't remember her name right now, however they also worked well, and they looked very good (acting-wise and otherwise) in that drama. Yeah, he is a really good actor, who seems to be quite sensitive to his fellow actors and actresses.
I love seeing him cook in OMG. I am always impressed by how those actors and actresses make cooking on camera seem so natural, and something they (or their characters) are good at, if they are supposed to be (like if they are chefs, etc...) I don't think I could do that (though in real life I am a good cook). I would be nervous, and it would show.

I think they use double for the cooking and all lol because when chefs are always doing something super complicated we see hand or faces but nor always all of those together. It's just a theory though ^^

yeah, that was Lee Yoon-ji in K2H. And I didn't even mention how perfect he and Shin Mina were as a married couple in My Love, My Bride.
I'm so happy JJS is getting more shine now, he is a consummate actor and makes an amazing leading man. I hope we get to see more of him in those roles!

I love JJS, whether it's dramas or movies. When he's the lead male, they are wonderful. When he's not lead, they're still wonderful. But the only work that comes to mind with JJS in the company of other super strong male actors is The Face Reader.
Now, for some reason, I'm imagining JJS co-staring with KMM. I don't know who I'd be cheering for more.

Can Dramabeans translating article if Park Shin Hye accepting the offer of female lead or not?
I used google trans and some of article said that three of them will start filming in October, but some said PSH still considering that offer. Help ;;
