High Society starts with a kiss

…Or three, but who’s counting? SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday melodrama High Society has followed up its first set of kissyface stills with a teaser that delivers on that promise and then some. Leads Sung Joon (Hyde, Jekyll, Me) and UEE (Ho-gu’s Love) hit the ground running with a teaser that shows off some sizzling chemistry, not that we were worried. On the downside, it makes me forget what the drama is even about. Upside, sizzling chemistry.
A quick refresher: The new drama from the creative team behind A Warm Word stars UEE as a chaebol heiress who keeps her identity hidden so that she can blend in and hold part-time jobs like the little people do. She does this all because she’s determined to find true love in someone who loves her for herself and not her money.
Sung Joon is an ambitious social climber who comes from a dirt-poor family and only cares about relationships that help him get ahead. Naturally this leads to the age-old dramaland question: love or money?
It’s pretty funny how rare a kiss is in a drama teaser, given how much of dramaland’s real estate is taken up by romance. But when you’re regularly waiting weeks before your leads ever lock lips, it’s a novel thing to see kisses before a show even premieres. As far as a marketing strategy goes, it’s damn effective, since I now want to check out a drama that otherwise sounded too melo for me.
Well, I’m off to watch the teaser again, partly for the kisses, and mostly because Sung Joon in a plain white tee just does things to me.

Sung joon really got so handsome, I don't know what was done but I can't tell really, like he looks like that since , since who cares?! lol.
Oh, but is this a melo? I don't have the patience to watch that but I will try, Ueee was so pretty in You're beautiful and I never watched any of her dramas after that but anyone can tell something was done and I don't like it. yea, I saw her in Hogu's love so I was kinda aghast to see her like that. bigger eyes, pointier chin, they vacuumed the round cheeks to this sunken look. why?? they already perfected her look in You're Beautiful - with the cat eyes. and I guess she just eats an apple a day, coz she is just thin!

Seriously though, I thought I would be skipping this one but damn...the chemistry between the leads is selling it. And I've been waiting for Sung Joon to get his good hair back, so you can imagine how overwhelmed I am to see him looking this hot again.

I was already in it for both Sung Joon and Uee, but jeeez that gaze, those subtle eye contact, the kiss(es). A couple in the similar age range with chemistry that could kill; it's been a while since I've seen that combination, so bring it on!

I had to scroll up to remember what the name of this drama was...I was expecting a title like "Smoldering Kisses" or "I am Sung Joon: Kiss Master" ....and then I saw "High Society".

Excellent. Sung Joon is a great kisser also. Hopefully the kisses are as hot in this show as they were on I Need Romance 3.
Seems like kisses are getting more 'involved' in recent dramas. In some older dramas I would get really disappointed that the kisses I had been waiting for result in the leads being 2 cardboard cut-outs with how unemotional they were.

I've seen it! I've seen it! And I TOTALLY agree about Lovers!!! I really really really think that those leads were among the hottest EVER EVER, chemistry-wise... Even though the drama itself was something else, the chemistry alone made me watch it in its entirety!

yeah it's good that she's gaining back weight IDK if it's just me but the dramatic weight-loss+surgery makes her look weird recently..I thought she was one of the prettiest koreans I've seen but I'm not digging her new look she looked better a lot better in ojakgyo brothers..

I don't know why she felt she had to get PS, she only had double eyelid surgery before and she was beautiful, like a doll. The round face shape suited her very well but the plastic surgeons this time unnecessarily touched an already perfect face. She didn't need to lose weight either!

Sung Joon is stupid hot and always has been and i am just liike WHY. lol anyway, love the chemistry. the kisses happening in teasers is a good thing but i hope the in show ones will be less chaste. i want kisses like the one in INR3. his kiss game was A++ in that one haha. but that was cable so. im not holding my breathe tbh :(
the fact that this is a mellow still makes me roll my yes, but im still holding out a hope for this to not be total trash. esp with two hot charismatic actors at the fore. well ok SJ is but UEE rly moved me in Hogoo's Love so, i have faith in her. and she's always been a total fox regardless. Discovery of romance (Sung Joon being one of the 3 leads) was on KBS2 and the kisses were hot too :p coz it's Sung Joon ^^

Yeah, I'm in. Fingers crossed that this will be good. I want a good storyline with emotional complexity and fully drawn characters, not a makjangpalooza full of eye-roll worthy tropes. But let's face it, the premise is about as garden variety as a Kdrama gets, having been done a thousand times. For instance, her parents are likely to move heaven and earth to keep them apart, and noble idiocy will be given it's own canvas chair on set. Uuugh, I so hope I'm wrong about this! I'll definitely watch the first few episodes, though, because if the trailer isn't fooling us, the chemistry between these two definitely does sizzle. Ppssssssst!

My goodness, that teaser was hot! I loved everything about it. The chemistry between the leads is insane!
Sung Joon looks so sexy and handsome with that hairstyle. The last (and only?) time I've seen him act was in Shut Up Flower Boy Band, which I liked for the most part, but I was never attracted to him then.
I wasn't even planning on watching this drama, but dayum, they know how to make things enticing.
