Vampire Idol! Best cheesy low-rent sitcom ever <333 Lee Soo-hyuk looks like the most obvious vampire ever, and 'evil vampire' is not too hard a stretch, but I hope he gets to show some chops here. I didn't watch Valid Love but people seemed generally positive about his acting, I think.

Also, GF I REALLY hope you're right about this part:

He was wonderful in Valid Love and I feel he really got to show a different side to himself and his acting. Read an interview where he states he's very interested in playing more average guys so I wonder about this character.

I would totally watch a show called, say, Vampire Carpenter. Who makes coffins for other vampires to lie in and sulk. But I´ll take what I can and be satisfied if Kim So-eun becomes lead and Car...I mean, Soo Hyuk joins in.

I have only watched him in King of High School and his role didn't impress me, maybe because it was a bitchy character?
Oh well, he's not the male lead so I'm fine.

PS: I am watching Iljimae currently. (Idk how I managed to forget this drama over these years, kill me now). Lee Jun Ki is so hot in sageuk. Makes my anticipation for this drama raise 1000000000 times more.

I don't mind him playing a vampire again, because his skills has improved alot compared to when he did Vampire Idol. It'd be nice to see if he could bring a new dimension to the said "vampire role", if he does get to play it.

Now if Kim So Eun agrees to be in this drama, then that would make things even better!

well he was so bad back then... in TWDR. SO I'm kind iffy he is in a sageuk roles again. But now since he has improved so much, maybe it might be different.

JSY, I will save up my earnings when I start working in the future and pay you the fee of this drama, but please reject the role!

I don't care if casting Lee Soo-hyuk as a vampire is 'easy.' I want to see him be dark and menacing and charismatic as fuck and be a formidable foe for Junki.

I want a villain who is compelling, complex, and nuanced. His soul, if vampires still had souls, could be pitch black or ever-changing shades of grey. He could be the villain who doesn't think himself or his actions evil; the guy with a grand noble plan but lost his way and will now do whatever it takes to reach his goal. He could still have his conscience and be conflicted about that or he could be coldly pragmatic and believe that the end justifies the means.

Or he could be a villain who's evil just because he can and because he finds it amusing, because he's got warped logic and an even more warped sense of humor. He could be the guy who, upon knowing that his evil plans were thwarted by our hero, chuckles quietly, smirks and thinks: This could be fun. Game on.

I haven't read the manga so I don't know how the story or characters will go but this what I want.

NOOO! What would make this casting perfect is if he is a guy who hates vampires and does his best to eradicate them! (And he's made up with a very healthy tan, to boot!)

I had such hopes for something that wasn't going to be cliche. But I guess it's too hard to resist casting decisions aimed at appealing to the well established vampire / 'tween-fangirl audience.

Soo hyuk and his vampirish face make a good vamp period.
