Pinocchio: Episode 6

It’s an episode about rivalries every which way imaginable, between romantic rivals, TV networks, rookie teams, and the shouty sunbaes who train them. The newbies get sent into the field for the first time on their own, and as expected, it’s a jungle out there. I’m not even sure if they’re fighting each other, their bosses, or just life in general, but in any case I think they should get used to failing at things for a good long while. It’s a good thing everybody loves an underdog!

EPISODE 6: “Adventures of 15-year-old boys” (aka Two Years’ Vacation by Jules Verne)

A fresh-faced newbie reporter arrives at the police station and announces himself to a group of unwashed, bleary-eyed sunbaes typing away on their laptops. One guy gets up to greet the obvious first-timer, while the others just sit there with a faraway look in their eyes.

Three days later, Dal-po is the rookie to announce himself, and the fresh-faced newbie who arrived three days ago now looks exactly like the others, with dark circles down to there and the same dead look in his eyes. Dal-po narrates, “They were like zombies—zombies that had been awake for 24 hours and left to starve. And a few days later, I had become one of them.”

Six hours earlier. Dad finds out about In-ha’s new job the bad way—by seeing her face on television as the new face of MSC’s “honest news.” Mom picks some pretty amazing timing to drop by Dad’s office, and he barely has a second to register In-ha on TV before turning around and coming face-to-face with his ex-wife. She says she’s here to talk about In-ha, and Dad looks about as pleased as you’d guess.

Hyung tenses up at YGN’s report about the death of two chemical plant workers who were discovered in a fire. The investigation is showing signs of foul play, and the use of toxic chemicals to instigate the shipping container fire that killed them. Their leading suspect is the plant manager who owed them money and is currently missing… because Hyung trapped him in a manhole six feet under!

Hyung’s boss hands him the money that he collected from Dal-po for the truck bumper, and says the guy was happy to pay for the damages, and even looked a little like Hyung.

Dal-po finally finishes his shredded paper reconstruction after two all-nighters, and the rest of the rookies are especially nice to him as they face their official district assignments. The worst assignment is the Han River, because that rookie has to work under Jang Hyun-kyu (whose nickname, by the way, is Jang Nitpick).

Ah, I misinterpreted Yoo-rae’s smile in the last episode—she was pleased because one rookie gets assigned per district, and she hoped that Dal-po would free her from Hyun-kyu’s wrath. They share their hot-packs and candy bars with Dal-po, who’s totally unprepared for their upcoming night watch.

Gyo-dong comes out to give out their team assignments, and as expected, Dal-po is put on Hyun-kyu’s team. The other rookies breathe a sigh of relief, but then Yoo-rae also gets placed on the same team, and she blurts, “WHY?!” Gyo-dong points out that there’s no rule about one rookie per team.

Hyun-kyu arrives behind them, and LOL, his ringtone is the Darth Vader theme song? He even lets it ring a while just for effect, before saying loudly into the phone that he’s got two newbies on his team to drive him twice as crazy.

Poor Yoo-rae is so frightened that she cries again, and has to lie to Gyo-dong that they’re just yawn-induced tears. She blankly asks Dal-po to return her hot-packs, suddenly not feeling so generous. They don’t even get as far as the elevator before Nitpick calls and screams at them to get their asses moving, and they take off.

Over at MSC, Il-joo is a very different kind of team leader, who speaks to In-ha and Beom-jo in jondae and politely explains their night watch assignment (naturally, they’re also assigned the Han River district).

Princess accuses him of treating them differently because of their connections, only to watch a little longer and realize that Il-joo is just as much of a hardass—he just likes to speak in that eerily polite, passive-aggressive tone. (Ha, does Beom-jo not understand sarcasm? In-ha has to stop and explain that Il-joo is saying one thing but means another.) He practically sing-songs at them to run, and to answer his calls in under three rings at all times, whether sleeping or pooping.

He reminds them that other reporters are now the enemy, and we intercut between Hyun-kyu and Il-joo giving minute-by-minute instructions to Dal-po and In-ha as they each race down to the street. They actually arrive outside their buildings at exactly the same time, and Dal-po comes to a screeching halt and asks what In-ha is doing here.

Beom-jo asks if she didn’t tell him that she’s a reporter for MSC now, and introduces himself to Dal-po. Dal-po ignores the outstretched hand and asks for an explanation, and In-ha tells him about Mom and the publicity internship. He looks up and sees the giant banner with mother and daughter advertising honest news from a Pinocchio reporter, and walks away.

Beom-jo grabs him by the arm to say that In-ha isn’t finished talking yet, but Dal-po just twists Beom-jo’s arm around his back and shoves him away. In-ha runs after him, leaving Beom-jo alone to swear angrily. The second he does though, he surprises himself, “Did I just swear? Huh.”

In-ha runs after Dal-po and grabs both wrists before he’ll stop. He shouts back angrily, asking why she wants to be a reporter so badly—did she really want to go back to her mother that much, when all she did was stomp on her pride? In-ha shouts back, “It’s not because of Mom! It’s because of you!”

She tells him that it’s because of that quiz show he went on eight years ago, and the way it felt when their teacher and all their classmates changed their opinions in one fell swoop. She pounds her chest: “That day so wonderfully remains right here. Not one minute, one second will be erased.”

She says that’s the reason she won’t give up on her dream, no matter how much Dad disapproves or how much Mom stomps on her pride. She tells Dal-po that she doesn’t need his support either, and would rather have him disapprove—that way it’ll be easier to stop liking him.

Dad arrives in the distance as Dal-po tries to hold her back to argue. She tells him to go ahead and try to stop her, because she’ll just want to do it more. Dad flashes back to Mom’s visit earlier that day. He asks if she suddenly feels the urge to be a mother, and Mom says no—that’s why she’s here.

She says she knows In-ha, and the more Dad tells her not to do something, the more she’ll want to do it: “Like me.” She asks for him to let In-ha pursue her dream, which is the only way he’ll get to keep her by his side.

So when Dal-po asks how she’ll convince Dad, Dad interrupts them (I love the way Dal-po instinctively sneaks her behind his back all the time), and shocks them both by saying that he doesn’t disapprove. He doesn’t exactly approve either, but he hands her a pair of new shoes in honor of the new job. Aw. In-ha bounces up and down in glee, while Dal-po accepts defeat.

Everyone heads home to pack for their 24-hour news patrol shift, and Beom-jo packs a full suitcase like he’s going on a luxury business trip. Chaebol Mommy worries about him having to sleep at the police station like a common criminal, and she coos at him to give up if things get too difficult. Way to teach him valuable life lessons, Mommy. As if the kisses weren’t hard enough to stomach.

In-ha peppers Dad with kisses too, though their relationship is too adorable for words. She’s bouncing off the walls with excitement over Dad’s show of support, determined to wear the new shoes until the soles disappear.

In the next room over, Grandpa packs Dal-po’s bag and hands him a new pair of gloves he bought for him, and Dal-po worries about him spending so much money when he has so little. Grandpa adorably gives a guilty glance over at Dal-po’s row of piggybanks and lovingly knocks his forehead against Dal-po’s as he agrees that he has no money.

Dal-po’s eyes widen and he rushes over to his precious piggies to find their bellies all split open. HA. Grandpa just walks away and says you make money to spend money, and Dal-po tries hard not to cry.

Things get awkward in the elevator as In-ha and Dal-po head out at the same time, and it gets even more strained when they find out that they’re both assigned to the Han River district. In-ha decides that it’s better this way, since being in direct competition with each other will help her get over him right away, and he lets out a sad little, “Yup.”

She hands him the dream button from her necklace and when he asks why she’s giving it back, she says, “Because I think I’m over you. *hiccup* …I guess I’m not. Sorry, I might have been too hasty.” Hahahaha. That was awesome. She hurriedly says she’ll get over him soon and takes the button back, and waits until he’s out of sight to die of embarrassment.

In-ha begins the competition right away, and steals Dal-po’s cab to get to the police station first. He outsmarts her by taking a different route, and we catch up to the opening scene as he arrives at the precinct. Someone calls out Dal-po’s name, and it turns out to be Chan-soo, his old high school quiz show rival.

Chan-soo is a cop now, and can’t believe how much Dal-po has changed. He ushers him away from the “reporter trash” who buzz around like flies waiting for their next big scoop, and Dal-po has to follow that up with the news that he’s a reporter now. In-ha comes running in too, and Dal-po suddenly frowns to see her looking a little too happy to see Chan-soo.

He takes his two classmates to show them the pressroom where they’ll sleep, and Yoo-rae and Beom-jo arrive just in time for the big reveal. They open the door to a tiny room filled with trash and dirty underwear. One lone reporter sits in the center of the room typing away like a zombie, and killing cockroaches with her bare hands. The rookies shudder in horror.

The clock begins to count down with 48 hours left to go, and their night of relentless buzzing begins. They stop at every cop at every desk to ask if there have been any incidents, and get rejected, and rejected, and rejected again.

Beom-jo is the most shell-shocked out of all of them, and he narrates to Mommy about this bizarro world he’s entered. He wonders where all those events that fill a day’s worth of headlines are hiding, because they can’t be found here. He says that if they don’t find things to report, they get chewed out by their bosses on the hour, every hour.

“I learned it here—that the world is filled with so many different kinds of swear words. In this place, if you cry you get in trouble. If you sleep you get in trouble. If you eat you get in trouble. And if you don’t eat, you also get in trouble. Mother, why have I come to this strange land?” Heh, I’m starting to like Beom-jo now.

In-ha plops down next to him with some food, and he marvels at the triangle kimbap like it’s a new invention. He tells her that he can’t eat egg whites and swaps her for her yolks, which is convenient for her since that’s the way she splits her eggs with Dal-po. But it pings my stalker-dar that he happens to like them the same way. She notes that he doesn’t seem like a typical snotty braggart chaebol heir, and he thanks her for the snide compliment.

Beom-jo continues his narration to Mommy: “There is one guy who’s adjusting to this rough world better than anybody…” Their faces darken at the sight of Dal-po running over, all buddy-buddy with a detective and calling him “hyungnim.” The same detective who earlier refused to throw them a bone offers to help Dal-po out, and they fume indignantly.

The boys stare each other down, and Beom-jo describes Dal-po as a Tarzan zipping through this jungle however he pleases. “Mother, that Tarzan has started to get on my nerves.”

Chan-soo asks how Dal-po managed to get a handle on the precinct so quickly, and Dal-po says it was luck—he spent two nights putting shredded papers back together, and among the pages was a police roster and various open cases at this station. Chan-soo marvels at the fact that Dal-po memorized all that, and tells him about the case he’s working on… the container fire.

Dal-po already knows about the case and says it’s pretty open-and-shut, since they already have a suspect on the run. All Chan-soo can offer is that his gut is telling him something is off about the case, and Dal-po dismisses him offhandedly.

Gyo-dong can’t focus at work, and his mind keeps drifting back to his conversation with Dal-po about his real identity. Dal-po told him about Hyung showing up to claim Firefighter Dad’s remains, but he has no way of getting the contact information from the police because at the time of his adoption, he thought it more important to hide his name and feigned amnesia. Gyo-dong decides to call the station himself to see what he can find out.

In-ha trudges off to the pressroom to catch a nap, and over the course of the night, people come and go and shift positions, until In-ha ends up snuggled up in Dal-po’s arms. Kyaaa. They’re so close, they’re kissing noses!

He’s startled when he opens his eyes, but just lies there watching her sleep with this sweet little smile on his face. He thinks about her confession that she wanted to become a reporter because of him, and reaches over to touch her, but pulls back.

Beom-jo wakes up just in time to see the look on Dal-po’s face as he watches In-ha sleep. Dal-po tucks her in and then locks eyes with Beom-jo, who follows him out into the hallway. “Hey, Choi Dal-po! What was that? That’s not something an uncle does with his niece!”

Dal-po just shoves Beom-jo’s outstretched hand away and says it’s not really his concern, which he can’t argue with. Dal-po tells him he’s overstepping and walks away muttering to himself about how he thinks he knows In-ha, but Beom-jo says he’s known her for quite a long time: “A lot longer than you think.”

It’s twelve hours till go time, on the first day that MSC has moved their news hour to go up against ratings leader YGN in a head-to-head battle. At the city newsroom, Princess is taking bets from all the other stations’ reporters, but Gyo-dong refuses to participate. The bet isn’t very interesting because no one will put their money on MSC, and even Princess bets on YGN instead.

In-ha is getting desperate for something to report to her boss, and begs Chan-soo for a tidbit, calling on old high school feelings to try and persuade him. He shows her his wedding ring and wonders why he ever liked her, but tells her about an accidental death case at a gym, where a woman worked out until she died. In-ha thanks him for the scoop, only to come out and discover Yoo-rae holding a stethoscope to the door. She calls the story into her boss first, and In-ha fumes.

It’s even funnier to watch the events from the lead reporters’ pressroom, because YGN’s Hyun-kyu and MSC’s Il-joo take turns making snide comments to each other about their terrible rookies, only to repeat the exact same ragey outburst when their own minions call.

It goes back and forth like this with both of them feeling the pressure to deliver a story for tonight’s broadcast, but having to rely on a set of clueless newbies to get the job done. Both teams get yelled at to find out more firsthand information and get the CCTV footage of the death.

The boys end up at the health club and the girls go to the hospital, and the petty rivalry escalates on both sides. (I love the look of satisfaction on Beom-jo’s face when he manages to get the elevator doors to close before Dal-po can catch up.) They cobble together some background information about the woman who died, but both teams are lacking the crucial piece—the tape that the gym refuses to hand over.

As they meet back at the gym, Beom-jo notices In-ha’s face covered in soot, and reaches over to wipe it away. But she leaves him hanging, and he awkwardly tries to cover up his embarrassment with a laugh.

Dal-po and Yoo-rae are one step ahead of them, and Dal-po seems close to convincing the gym owner to hand over the CCTV tape. Yoo-rae’s burst of aegyo softens him up (and Beom-jo tries to get In-ha to do the same but she can’t), and when the owner hesitates, Dal-po says it’s okay if he just plays the tape once, much to the others’ dismay.

They watch the playback and take notes, and as they leave, Beom-jo tries to get In-ha to agree with him that Dal-po sucks. She agrees but hiccups, and Beom-jo figures she must still like him. She says it’s harder to get over Dal-po than she thought, and blames herself for hanging on.

Yoo-rae asks if they should head back and try to persuade the gym owner one more time, but Dal-po says he’s already got it—he recorded the footage on his phone while it was being played back for them. Yoo-rae claps and gives him a thumbs-up for being awesome, and they head back in a good mood.

Chan-soo’s boss asks for his report on the container fire case, and Chan-soo voices his niggling doubt about the suspect. The plant manager’s cell phone signal has been caught in various cities with no other trace, just turning on and off for a brief second, as if to purposely make it appear as though he’s wandering around.

We see Hyung taking the cell phone in question to crowded places to turn it on and off, exactly as Chan-soo describes. Uh-oh. Dal-po narrates: “The truth is in pieces spread out here and there, and doesn’t reveal itself whole to us.”

Beom-jo goes over the details of the gym case that In-ha has to report to their boss. They surmise that the woman discovered her ex-husband was remarrying and began an extreme diet leading to her overdoing her workout and a heart attack. In-ha says she can do it but hiccups, and she admits that something about the case isn’t adding up for her.

Dal-po continues his narration that when the thing they find isn’t the truth, the truth sends them little signals: doubt. Chan-soo’s boss tells him it is weird, but it’s not enough to change their prime suspect. Beom-jo agrees that things might not line up perfectly, but that it’s not enough to stop them from calling it in. But In-ha decides she has to go back to check things over one last time.

Dal-po watches the CCTV footage and something niggles at him too, but he ends up sending it to Gyo-dong. He narrates, “The moment you fold that doubt, the real truth hides itself.”

Gyo-dong receives the video and heads out with a little warning to Princess that YGN’s got an exclusive tonight, but a moment later Princess gets off the phone with a smile on his face and says they have one too. He moves his bet over to MSC and heads out. Dal-po (voiceover): “What you see isn’t everything.” The clock counts down, with three hours left till broadcast.

COMMENTS

It’s not the most exciting note to end on, since I care much more about our characters’ relationships to each other than which network will win the first of what I’m sure will be many ratings battles. But I do appreciate the fact that we have two competing networks instead of one group of rookies all working for the single station that we’re rooting for. I care very little about the scoop ‘o the week, so having each pair of newbie reporters represent the YGN-MSC battle makes it more interesting on a character level, and I already like the fact that I feel conflicted about In-ha and Beom-jo doing a good job. I want them to become good reporters, but right now they’re serving to make Mom look good, and that’s enough to make me hope they fail. Obviously the end goal is to have her become a better reporter than her mother ever was, but I wonder if that’s something she can achieve while working within the belly of the beast.

I don’t know that Chan-soo had to be brought back as a cop to take the lead on Hyung’s case, because first of all, I know this drama world is the smallest world ever known, but some of the coincidences are totally unnecessary. Honestly, there doesn’t have to be a connection with every single thing. I’d rather the fate/coincidence angle be saved for greater effect when it’s crucial, instead of having so much rely on happenstance. It has little bearing on the heart of the characters’ relationships (which is thankfully undeterred no matter how much random coincidence you throw at them), but it does stretch the plot at times. Anyway, now that Hyung is a killer, I want Chan-soo to be bad at his job. It’s terrible, I know. But when this shit hits the fan, it’s going to be SO BAD for Dal-po. He becomes a reporter just to find his brother, only to find him a killer, and dreams of telling his father’s story, only to end up having to tell his brother’s? Ack. I just want to bury my head in the cute romance sand and pretend those events aren’t inevitable down the line.

Now that the partnerships are established, I feel like we’re settling into Beom-jo and Yoo-rae’s characters a little, though I’m still waiting for Yoo-rae to be given a little more to do. I like her and am by default rooting for her, but I’d like to get to know her better. Beom-jo, on the other hand, has finally broken out of his shell, and I like that he has more dimension now. Granted, he’s still really freaking weird, but it seems to me that he’s just sheltered more than anything, and that he’s quite innocent and sweet.

I think when they announced his character they used the standard chaebol description about a guy who’s never known hardship in his life, which I took as a general line about his buckets of money. But I think it might actually be literal in his case, because he seems confused about why people would be mean or unloving or unhelpful, because he has a mommy who made everything easy. Too easy if you ask me, but that seems to be his character’s uphill battle now that he’s trying to do things out in the real world. It’s a funny set of obstacles to overcome, and now that I see he’s harmless and well-meaning, I can root for him to grow up and learn a thing or two about people. And sarcasm.

His rivalry with Dal-po was surprisingly compelling in this episode, and the appeal stemmed from Beom-jo’s begrudging admiration for Dal-po, who knows how to navigate this weird jungle that he’s unfamiliar with. I love the look on his face when he calls Dal-po Tarzan, because it’s awe mixed with hate, delivered from the perspective of a little boy who wishes he could be that cool. And in that moment I’m really behind In-ha and Beom-jo because they seem like the underdogs of the underdogs, with no clue how to do anything right.

I thought today’s title reference to be pretty apt (and it totally took me until translating this episode’s title to realize that they’d all been children’s literature references the whole way through). Taken from Beom-jo’s perspective, the real world is actually a strange new land, and being a rookie reporter is a lot like being shipwrecked on an island with a bunch of other kids, left to their own devices to survive. He doesn’t understand any of the rules, everything his boss says is the opposite of what he means, and he just wants to go home to his mommy. But I’m glad he’s sticking it through, because he pushes Dal-po’s buttons, and anything that forces Dal-po to show his feelings for In-ha is a good thing in my book.

Wow GF, you said the recap would be late but yet you're still super early! I only just finished watching the ep too haha.

Anyway, great ep, I think the last 2 eps haven't been as fast paced as the first 4 eps and fair enough - we still need enough story and conflict yo last us the next 14 eps! Thinks like the reunion of Hyung and Dalpo, Beom Ju confessing his (creepy) love for In Ha (halfway through the show maybe) and then later telling her about her phone and texts, evil mum getting taken down, Dalpo getting his justice, Dal-In live happily ever after... Will be probably cramped towards the end.

I wonder if the fat women dying has anything to do with the firemen dying...

Yeap, pace is WAAY down with 5+6 now, and that's definitely a good thing (unless we wanted to have a final episode in some kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland with Dal-po's grand-grand-children hunting squirrels).

Oh and ugh first the toast kiss was just Father's crazy imagination, and now the bed scene is them being asleep... I wish they were both awake and aware of that intimacy, and not just Dalpo.

ME WANT SEXY HOT KISS!

I thought that scene was REALLY CREEPY. Exactly BECAUSE In-a is not awake and aware of the intimacy, Dal-po molesting his sleeping niece somehow did the opposite to me. After that scene, I definitely DON'T want them to do anything remotely sexy.

Ehh, you say a lot of shit on this site. You even said the ending of Liar Game was bad, so... That means that Dalpo did good "molesting" her.

Wait, you don't think a person secretly stroking you while you sleep, a person who has no personal or romantical relationship with you to do so, is creepy?

(And please don't drag Liar Game into this ...)

No personal relationship?! I definitely think they have a personal relationship and even if you take the romance out if it, they're essentially best friends. I can see how that scene could be taken as creepy but I think molestation is a bit extreme.

They both have feelings that they're trying to block because it would mess up the family. I actually found the scene more sad than anything.

And he knows it wasn't really the right thing to do as he ducked the question of whether or not be was close enough to be doing that...but I still don't think anyone in the scene considered it a violation.

No personal relationship where you stroke the other person's hair while they sleep. You can do that with your children, for example (in some cultures, at least).
But I think it's VERY clear that this is not some kind of family-love-induced caressing.
I think we both agree that Dal-po himself knew he shouldn't be doing this.

From a viewer's perspective, it is, I agree, sad. I'm just imagining that from In-a's perspective right now: Learning that the guy you grew up with as a family member, and that you developed feelings for, but you feel that having feelings for him is wrong, and you tell him so, does that to you while you sleep. That's what I find creepy.

Of course, "molesting the niece" is highly misleading, it's much more "unconsented caressing the sleeping person who just told you that she doesn't want to be in love with you because she wants to see you as her uncle".

Lol Jon G.
Stroke someone hair = molesting
I don't know if you are too pure or too pervert...

0

Stroking someone's hair = molesting?

She confessed she likes him romantically and he has feelings for her too = no romantic connection?

I would like to see the dictionary in your world please.

Pigsnout
Ouch! The dictionary comment...
I know my english isn't good... But I didn't think it was that bad!

I was answering to Jon G....
He (Jon G.) said that Dal Po was molesting In Ha because he (Dal Po) was stroking her (In ha) hair.
And I don't know if Jon G. is too pure (that he doesn't know what molesting someone really means) or if he is too pervert (that get excited only touching someone's hair!)

0

@Scarlett - my comment was addressed to Jon G., NOT to you! Very sorry if you were hurt, my English is not perfect either.

But I really want to see this dictionary of Jon G's, or whatever mental process he uses to claim in Misaeng early episode recaps that Ahn Young Yi's intern PT partner who filmed her in degrading ways to show their bosses as a "presentation" is not a sexist.....

......and now apparently according to the same person, touching the hair of a girl you love and who confessed her own feelings to you is "molesting". I really want to see this double standards dictionary of contradictions please!

0

Pigsnout, you don't need to feel sorry!
I thought you were mistaking me as a Jon G. supporter and wanted to clarify that I'm not!
I didn't know he was a regular in polemic comments! (I'm not watching Misaeng. Is it good??)

0

@Scarlett - I'm late and I'm not pigsmout, but I can testify that Misaeng is excellent. It's easily the best kdrama of 2014, for me.

0

@pigsnout

I never said that the Young-yi filming wasn't sexist. What I said was that many of the viewers at the presentation didn't think it was sexist enough to not enjoy it. (And we have seen since then HOW much more sexism or outright misogynism the employees are taking for granted ...)

"……and now apparently according to the same person, touching the hair of a girl you love and who confessed her own feelings to you is “molesting”. I really want to see this double standards dictionary of contradictions please!"

Yep, I already apologised for the mis-usage of that word (English is one of later foreign languages I picked up to learn). I should have used something like "unconsented caressing".

Still, you make it sound like a totally normal act between lovers. They are not. She doesn't know he is in love with her AND she explicitly told him that she WANTS to see him as her uncle, she doesn't WANT to be in love with him.

0

Thank you @pogo!!
I thought Misaeng was a historical drama (just because they didn't translate the name...) LOL
But thanks to you and @pigsnout I searched about it and it looks very interesting! I'll give it a try!!

0

Molesting someone where that words came from. If you repeat the scene Dalpo just look ar him and stop himself to caress the face of Inha. Dalpo didn't pull Inha to him, she is the one who rolled and making his uncle arms as a pillow. If you want a reall molesting moment you have to try other dramas who dragged the girl and kiss them suddenly. Dalpo respect as a lady, first love, and hell yah as his niece.

lol molesting??? he is her uncle, and they have been living under the same roof for so long now that there must have been more skinship than tucking your own niece in and patting her hair.

Okay then. Imagine she wakes up at that very second and notices him stroking her hair. Do you think she would be like: "Oh, my uncle is really caring and stuff about me, his niece?"

She told him just before that she thinks it is bad she has feelings for him, because he is her uncle. He doesn't act as her uncle when he lies next to her and strokes her hair, he acts as her lover in that situation. Only that he isn't.

Maybe I'm overly hysterical at that point, but to me, caressing is a rather intimate thing and consent is crucial when it comes to intimacy. If Dal-po wouldn't caress her when she is awake, he definitely shouldn't do it while she is sleeping. To me, this is not romantic at all, because it is dishonest and invasive.

@Jon G. Hey, I don't want to create any kinda fight here, but you said, In Ha "thinks" it is bad for her to have feelings for Dal Po. But she obviously has. Feelings aren't something a person can control.

I don't think what you said is even related. There was no any molesting and definitely they have a personal relationship. Seriously, if you don't have anything good to say keep quiet without giving anybody ideas and false accusations..

And let's be honest here. If Lee Jong Seuk was stroking your hair like that and tucking you in, would you stop to think whether or not he's molesting you and what your relationship with him is? I would just grab and kiss him senseless!

0

Yep, she has feelings for him (and he for her), but they are, quite explicitly, in no romantic relationship what-so-ever.

I do apologise for the term "molesting", that was inappropriate (there is a term in my mother tongue that is often translated as "molesting", but it's more "unconsented caress" in meaning).

"And let’s be honest here. If Lee Jong Seuk was stroking your hair like that and tucking you in, would you stop to think whether or not he’s molesting you and what your relationship with him is? I would just grab and kiss him senseless!"

Well, two things: (1) My last homosexual phase is decades ago.
(2) No, I don't think you can get away with everything as long as you are hot.

0

Honestly, if she woke up at that moment and saw the avowed object of her love stroking her hair, she might be confused or frustrated but is highly unlikely that she would feel violated.

Maybe Dal Po can be forgiven. After all he woke up to find her sleeping nose to nose with him, her head resting on his arm. He didn't put he there.

0

Leave aside the looks of the guy doing it, a girl who wakes up to find the boy she loves stroking her hair might be, like the poster above said, maybe she feels confused at worst. But violated? Hardly. Anyway your logic is not very consistent on this subject, from obe drama recap to another.

0

I generally just skip your comments because I find it pointless to answer to such an obvious troll, but this part

"Dal-po molesting his sleeping niece"

Damn hilarious *standing ovation*

The limits of skinship in kdramas are always in a grey area that I won't discuss here (what with all the forced kisses/hugs/arm-grabs and general invasion of personal space), but you have to admit that you chose your words to make it way more criminal than it was (which was, not at all). Dal-po and In-ha have an extremely close relationship and they have shown no issues with being physically close. Also, even if in paper they're "related", they're both aware that they're not uncle and niece, and they literally grew up knowing that their family connection was a lie. Heck, even his "dongsaeng" and his "father" know it. All of this was shown and established many times.

Whether you like provoking the readers of the site with clearly false interpretations of many scenes from various shows, or if you truly don't enjoy any of the shows you follow so closely, that's not my problem I guess. But I felt compelled to answer this one, so you win!

Au revoir.

I agree with u.

No but honestly, I find Bum jeo more "creepy" because he has been reading in ha's text messages, which is basically her life story, for more than what, 10+ years, which she writes for her mother but he gets instead, so he knows every intimate detail about her while she's none the wiser.

Yup, Beom Jeo really creeps me out. Don't like the way the keeps staring at her knowingly, with that smile (which is also creepy). And.... after all this time, he still does not admit to being the one who 'stole' her messages to her mum.

I only don't mind him when he is perplexed / not smiling at In Ha.

0

Watch the scene again, he didn't even touch her hair. He hovered over it and then withdrew his hand.

Also, "molesting" is a word with a lot of weight, don't use it for shits and giggles. Even if he did stroke her hair once, that's doesn't cross to molestation.

Exactly. Words have weight, and comparing sexual assault/molesting to something like this is either ignorance or excessive conservativeness.

Its fine that Chansoo came back, at least he won't be too hard to Dalpo's hyung. I'm deeply hurt how Jaemyung lifes ruined because of the people who hides the truth from the world. Ki family never ever deserve the tragedy that they experience but, no matter how lifes been unfair to us we still have a choice. Very sad that he chose the path that will lead him to his own hell. I love how the writer give importance in every little details. 2014 is ending not so bad.

Indeed,it was so sad to see how diffrent both bro made at the same time their own choice for how to handle their injustice..i guess when Hyung found out that his last hope in Dad being alive was alos taken away he didn't have any more reason and got all out while Dal Po had by his side a family and saw that they terat and consider him as part of it...I think besides Dal PO finding out the horrible truth that HYung is a killer will be even more his own moment thinking that if he didn't look only at his pain and think about hyung that was left alone and reach for him some time ago he wouldn't ruin his life

It's sad, but I can understand Jaemyung choice!
He thought there was nothing more to lose! And forgot that he still had himself...
I like the way the writer show how revenge isn't a good thing.
In Pinocchio is especially painful because Jaemyung was a kind guy!
In "I hear your voice" I just hated Min Joon Gok! I didn't have any sympathy for him!

Really loved this episode and Beom Jo is sooooooooo cute in his own innocent way,he is soooooooo innocent and is indeed clear from some episodes back that he was sheltered by Mom all his live yet i really like that he isin't the typical jerk,he is very happy go lucky that knows and is grateful for what he has and the love he recives and even his Mom as overprotective as she is with him isin't bad and i actually like her,i really really like him even more in his jorney to descover the new world and how to handle it,love already his thing with Dal Po,indeed a mix of hate and admiration, for me he is fror a long time in love with In ha but just dind't knew it was and now he feels jelosy maybe for the first time becaus ehe doesn't know the feel...i must say that i absolutely HATE mom but want In Ha to win and prove she has the instinct to be a reporter

I want to share some observations and fears:

#1. I don't like that Dal Po has secretly recorded the CCTV, because this is cheating, so this means that he's becoming like the other reporters.

#2. I think Hyung will be a HUGE problem. In Ha is the Direcor Song's daughter AND a Pinocchio, and we know that he hates the Pinocchio witness and her mother. So, I think he'll surely try to kill In Ha to get revange (I'm afraid it will be a Hyung vs. Dal Po).

#3. I don't know why, but I feel that Jang Nitpick and the cameragirl will be together.

#4. I think Ahn Chan Soo will be a good cop and he will discover the truth about Hyung.

Nice episode, by the way, but I have to say I want more romance!! They're killing me... can't wait!

Its a solid proof what important in writing a good report that the report got a solid evidence to backup the story. Dalpo is playing dirty because that's the job description.

#1: I liked that bit. Dal-po is not a good person, he has a strong drive to do what he thinks he must do and doesn't care too much about the moral implications. He isn't as straight-forward as his brother, of course.

#2: So far, he acts on his revenge on a personal level, not generalising (killing ALL reporters, ALL Pinocchios) etc. I don't think In-a is in danger now. (Dal-po, ironically, actually over-generalises his hate towards reporters and Pinocchios, but he does it in a less lethal form.)

#4: Tiny universe, of course. But for one, the writer didn't just continue with Ahn Chan-soo's jerk-character from school. His crush on In-a is gone (THANK YOU!), he seems to be over that hate-rumour spreading nonsense, too. Eight years is enough time to develop a more mature personality. I really appreciate this instance of off-screen character development.

I think #1 was meant to be ironic. Same as when Dalpo was fine with sending in the video even though he felt uneasy about it. It's to show that ironically, when Dalpo is on the other end of things, he ends up being the kind of reporter he hates, the kind that gives a round up version of a story because its easier, and gives evidence that wasn't taken ethically.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

#1.yes!its really ironic. Dalpo despised someone with pinocchio to be a reporter becoz he/she cant diferentiate between truth/lie and just say whay he think is true. But look how he lied and recorded the cctv footage. And also sent that to his boss when he had doubt on it. He slowly become like InHa mom, who had done any means to become a reporter then an anchor.
I like it that InHa will prove him wrong and become a good reporter that she and he want.

I really love Pinocchio <3

Required fields are marked *

I didn't like either i thought he should know better because of his past experience. Then i reflected on past episodes.

Dal po hates reporters as he stated he is disgusted by them. Its not that he is being a hypocrite by underhandedly filming the footage. But he has no respect for the job reporters.

If you respect your job you show more integrity in what you do. Dal po hates reporters therefore he believes he does not need integrity in what he does. its only natural despicable reporters should do despicable actions.

There is one aspect of the show that feels weird:
LJS plays Dal-po mostly as a subtle, tragic character. PSH plays In-a as a comedy character. As long as they are within their respective genres, they work great. Once PSH has a more subtle scene to play with LJS, it turns a little bit towards the awkward side. I'm not sure whether that's the acting or the genre-divergence. Same in the other direction, LJS is no match for PSH in the insane, physical comedy scenes.
Now Dal-po is paired with the other female trainee, another unsubtle comedy character.

Really? I don't find this apparent "tragic, subtle LJS" and "comic funny PSH" to be the case at all. In my opinion they actually match quite well as actors even when LJS has funnier scenes or PSH has more emotional ones. Like the bathroom-fighting scene of episode 5 or the final YGN test/roof top confession in the same episode. And I think he matches well with his rookie teammate too, I did not see any awkwardeness in either Park Shin Hye or Lee Yubi in their acting styles.

I imagine they'd be more competitive. Korea only has three major broadcasting companies: KBS, MBC, and SBS. EBS is another one, but it's more educational and less varied. Reporters will do anything to benefit their networks, especially during national crisis like the Sewol Ferry incident or something big like the Olympics. I remember during the Sewol ferry incident, all the broadcasting networks went under fire for competing to boost ratings with false informations.

Inha telling to dalpo that he is the reason behind her wish to become a reporter. And that elevator scene, I-am-over-you-hiccup-guess-not-moment. Her dead pan face while saying that, followed by embarassment. Epic scene. Love her And dalpo's jealous face and his love struck face while seeing her sleeping. Oh.. these two are just perfect. The chemistry is sizzling.

And i absolutely love the Father-Daughter moment. One of the best father-daughter pairing in kdramaland. The acting is so realistic. I adore those two.

Then dalpo and grandpa moment. Aww.. You can feel the love. And the faces he makes after knowing the loss of his piggybanks. So squishy.

It was a fun episode seeing our rookie reporters tackling the harsh reality. I am finally warming up to Beom-jo. He is just a clueless little mama's boy facing a different world for the first time. I think he has not yet figured his feelings for inha. Just can say he is fascinated by her or obsessed enough to follow her all the way. Guessing, he must have known that inha likes egg white through those text msgs she sent over the yrs. He looks harmless as of now and just fascinated and curious about all the new experiences. Kinda innocent and adorable even. As for yoo rae, She is yet to sink in.I find her antics a bit cartoonish. I am sure that feel will go as i see more of her in the coming episodes.

Truth be told, i wished there was more dal in moments in this episode. :P

Yep, In-a telling Dal-po that she wants to become a reporter because of his speech on the game show, that was a great scene.

Yu-rae, well, she would be perfect if paired with In-a, as both actresses use matching acting styles. LJS's more subtle style with Dal-po creates a bit of a contrast with Yu-rae.

I imagine Dal-po running after his brother in a police van, crying and calling "Hyung! Hyung!" like a little boy. The pain he is in breaks the heart of the people who love him. His family.

When In-ha finally learns of Dal-po's past and how her mother play a part in Dal-po's loss of his parents, brother and name, I imagine In-ha crying and telling her mother how painful it must have been for Dal-po to grow up with his enemy's daughter. And for the first time in her life, she feels embarrassed to be her mother's daughter.

I dunno as well. But I think it's more because he is her uncle, legally. So that's how the family can be ruin. Uncle and niece relationship. If they want to get married Dal-po probably needs to cut his legal relationship with his adoptive dad (In-ha's grandpa).

Actually, I'm surprised everyone seems to be taking this lightly. From In-ha's classmate in episode 2 to Beom-jo. I have seen other dramas (such as Nine) where even though our female and male lead are not blood related, they can't be together since they're family in name. Like Dal-po and In-ha. But in this show people just accept that they like each other. Like Dad and Beom-jo. Even the classmate just In-ha straight if she likes Dal-po

I think it's because in this show it is established they are not related; and everybody knows it. They don't pretend like they're related for the outerworld, but just for the grandpa. Idk, I'm a little confused too because I have seen so many other kdramas where a relationship between in-laws, adopted family, etc. is a HUGE deal- like Nine(so much angst), A Little Love Never Hurts(no seriously, SO MUCH ANGST), and Ojakkyo Brothers (not as big here but between the maknae and the aunt-in-law). I thought it was a big cultural taboo in Korea, but in this show, everyone's just kinda like... yeah, they like each other... whatevs...LOL

I think Dal Po is scared to confess after he promised In ha's father that he won't do anything to ruin the family. However I think In ha might start dating Dal Po when she finds out that he is not really her uncle and not blood related to her, because the only thing that is stopping In ha from dating or doing anything with him is because she think it's wrong to date or to have feeling for her uncle. !! Which I totally understand!

DalPo wouldn't confess his true feelings for InHa: 1. Because her father knew DP's feeling for his daughter and pleaded against it. And DP respects his wishes that InHa should be with someone better than himself who is a high school graduate an orphan has no money 2. DP values his new family and didn't want to do anything to jeopardize the current family dynamic because of his feelings for her.

InHa tries change her heart because: 1. She doesn't know he also likes her and thinks he has a girl friend named HS 2. She thinks he hates her and so she uses their false family tie - uncle to shield herself from liking him anymore.

However the writer already hinted many times 1. Her feelings for DP is much deeper and stronger then she thinks and had loved him way longer then she realized.

On the other hand, for DP, even though he promised to in ha ' s dad that he wouldn't pursue his feelings for InHa he has loved her ever since he met her even after he learned who her mother was.

Sometimes I think Dal-po is too smart for his own good. Same for his elder brother. It's because he is purposely trying to cover his tracks by taking the cell phone in question to crowded places to turn it on and off, that's why Chan-soo is suspicious that something is off. I also don't want Chan-soo to be good at his job. Because if he is, it'll bring Dal-po A LOT of pain

0

Required fields are marked *

Well, yeah, the cell phone ploy was clever and stupid at the same time by Dal-po's brother. On first glance, it looks like a good idea to pretend that the guy was traveling a lot by switching on the cell phone here and there. But that depends on the police to actually monitor the cell phone, and if they do, they WILL figure out the activation pattern (switched on, no calls, switched off again) makes no sense.
If the guy got the money and is on the run, why would he still use his phone? Especially when he doesn't actually USE it?

From an ethical point of view, I think good police is better than bad police. Yeah, sure, they might find Dal-po's brother, but then again, he is a murderer. And for Dal-po, well, we know that he will learn the truth about everything eventually anyway.

I think Beomjo was indeed sheltered from the world. He might have had some sort of disease or they might have been subject to threats of kidnapping or something in that line (I do wonder why we haven't been introduced to his father) which caused his mom to become overprotective of him and raise him up away from the public (maybe he got home schooled?); it would explain why he's so fond of Inha, since she then would be his only touch with the 'outerworld'.

BTW, am I the only one who thought of Birth of a Beauty?

I never expected we would see Chan Soo again, and as soon as we see him again, he is the cop who will be investigating Hyung and feeding Dal Po with information on the case? Why does Dal Po find out the truth in the most tragic ways? First, he found out his father died in a job interview, next he finds out his hyung is a murderer while covering a news story. Dal Po is a genius in any line of work. I knew he was going to record the CCTV with his phone. How great is it that Hyun Kyu actually helped him when he made him glue all the shredded papers together himself?

Thank you, Reporter Zombie, for pushing In Ha into Dal Po's arms. His watching her sleep was swoon-inducing. So Beom Jo is the first to be privy of our couple's feelings for each other. He seems so harmless at this point that I have nothing against him and doubt he will turn evil and break them apart. Still I want Dad to find out about In Ha's feelings. These male models with bedhead, mmm. Pinocchio syndrome is such a breath of fresh air. I cackle every time she hiccups and apologizes right away. In Ha is awesome. I love how he protects her by moving her behind his back.

We have

Hyung meeting the 3 men behind dad's death
The chaebol who texted and pretended to be In-ha's mom and meeting her
Chan-soo becoming a policeman and meet Dal-po and In-ha again
So on
And so on
Too much!!!

While I like the progression and tension of the show, the coincidences are too unrealistic!!!

I love how determined she is to prove everyone wrong. Even though right now her mom may be using her for a publicity stunt, I'm hoping that in the future, In Ha shows that she's got way more to offer. For someone who gave In Ha and that one Pinocchio a tough time for not weighing their words before speaking, it's pretty hypocritical for Dal Po to not follow his suspicions (he clearly suspected something was amiss, having watched the CCTV recording many times over before hitting the 'send' button), to turn the story upside down so that all possibilities were covered.

Or maybe he did find something and we just have to wait till the next episode to find out.

Or maybe he just went with the motion because he's the intern.

BTW completely off topic, but is it true Park Shin Hye is dating actor Park Hye Jin?? Just heard the rumor, and now it'll be hard for me to concentrate on the chemistry between Dal Po and In Ha :'(

She is?! I havent really heard any of that... I mean sure she is linked to all her leading men... But all those seems to be just rumors.

Park Shin Hye is currently single right now. I'm her fan :) the rumour about her and Park Hye Jin is an old rumour. And it's confirmed that they're not :) sorry if I'm wrong though. Even hardcore fan like me can make mistake.

As a fan, I don't care who she will date though, as long that man cherish her and make her happy :)

Park hae jin? . Lol. Totally Not true. I am even surprised you are talking abt an old rumor from 2008. It has been debunked already.

Just google and you can read the details for yourself. ;) As a long time fan of her, i can say the rumor is false. So, no need to worry. :)

No, this isn't the old rumor. Apparentlly they've been spotted attending a soccer match together and someone posted they saw PSH at PHJ's mom's restaurant with him. His mom acted really familiar with her calling her "Shin Hye ya~" and they acted and looked like they were dating.

If their happen to be dating.. That's actually really good.. He is handsome.. And she is beautiful.. If they are happy.. i also feel happy for them..

And if they are really dating... Now I hope PSH could deliver good kissing scene.. Since she already knows how to kiss properly.. And yup again, if she is...

Stop spreading rumor with out proof and just enjoy the show.. LOL (so ironic with this drama)

Also dispatch should have already caught them a long time if they are dating since the rumor started in 2008 and she has dating rumor with her previous co-stars too, recently LMH. Meaning fans love to link her with her co-stars. So just don't believe anything you read without basis/proof and worst spreading it.

-----

Anyway, back to the drama. i feel like In Ha's team will be the winner since they did a better job of job and Dalpo stole the footage/ recording it without permission so he could be in trouble. We will see, this show give us so many feels. i really love it!

Lol. They are friends. Park shin hye is someone who remains as good friends with all her costars. So there will always arise some speculations/rumors. People were speculating her to be dating JGS after YAB, Yonghwa after HS and LMH after heirs. The cycle happens. The said soccer match(I believe its a baseball match) was attended by a group of celebrities like park shin hye, park hae jin, dynamic duo, park shin hye's manager and many many more in 2013. There were many selcas too for that. There were all wearing red cardigan/outerwear.

You would be surprised. The girl is even close to her YAB costars families as mentioned by them before. And she has many dedicated shippers who love to link her with her costars. She hangs out with her friends casually. So I wont be surprised if she hanged out with PHJ. PHJ has even stated in one interview that she is like a little sister to him.

So if we ponder much on these thoughts, we cannot enjoy the drama. Its upto you now. :)

And my love for this drama is getting stronger, In Ha plays a good role there, I can perfectly understand (and even place my self in) her character. Dal Po also turns out to be so charming and I just can't resist him. Definitely in love with all the actresses and actors in here ! Good job with the casting and with the plot writing (written with so much love, can't stop myself keep falling for this), this drama is my favorite so far. Hope it doesn't disappoint us.

Thanks GF !

Team In-Ha! While I'm not particularly inclined to take sides in the broadcast networks' battling, nor am I a proponent of helping In-Ha's mother gain credibility, I think In-Ha needs a 'win'. She has spent the last four episodes facing some form of rejection/humiliation in both her professional and her personal life. Also, she has yet to actually prove, in any capacity, that she could be a good reporter on her own merit. Her succeeding in delivering a more comprehensive story would not only prove her own competence, but it would demonstrate an interesting juxtaposition from Dal-Po's expectations. In their reports, he would be the one just blurting out the universally accepted story, while she would be the one (as a result of her having Pinocchio syndrome) to question and look for more information. It could also make the competition between the networks more interesting/intense if our two teams were both serious contenders for the win.

@ SimplySoon and hons.niech

The show has been so full of coincidences so far, that I was suddenly struck with the thought of what might be in the plot ...

Not only might it be Dal Po (with Chan Soo) who uncovers his brother's crimes but that we might come full circle in addressing the unfairness towards Dal Po. In Ha's success as a truthful reporter, could lead her to discover the shocking, irresponsible reporting of her own mother.... and the true identity of Dal Po.

So much angst if these are explored in the show!

So success yes, but at what a price!!

Despite great strides in the advancement of public health, there is a notable absence of the public doing its part to contribute to public health. Does it seem like its becoming a lost cause for the general public?

Members of a society contribute to public health when they participate in and are empowered to act on decisions that affect their health. Whatever happened to public health focusing on individual behaviors and risk factors by promoting healthy behaviors through constantly educating the general public?

I pose these questions because of some common public-health practices that have recently cropped up.

1) The pressroom reveal scene where they'll sleep:

"They open the door to a tiny room filled with trash and dirty underwear. One lone reporter sits in the center of the room typing away like a zombie, and killing cockroaches with her bare hands."

Of note: she killed a roach/cockroach with her bare hands, wiped her hands on her pants, and then she proceeded to eat. As if it was nothing. It is a known fact that the simple act of hand washing with soap can prevent many contagious diseases.

2) Gone are the days when common public health measures like hand washing, breastfeeding, and vaccinations were expected and the norm in society.

3) In the past most workplaces offered generous sick & vacation leave policies. Nowadays, many companies will dock an employee for sick days, vacation, or paid-time-off. Oftentimes, this leads to employees coming to work although they're sick hence spreading germs and infecting others. Which undoubtedly increases the numbers of employees who get sick. Yes, there is a chance that an employee will lie about being sick.

4) Food industry workers have to work while sick - a risk to all of us. Some of the worst food-borne illnesses will originate from contaminated food handled by sick workers. Sick days are a luxury that many hourly or low wage employees simply don't have. The reality for many taking off when sick means no pay, and at worst a lost job.

Public Health protects and improves the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations, locally and globally.

thanks for the recap girlfriday <3 i literally agreed with each point made in the final comments.

is anyone else suspecting that the gym ahjumma's sudden heart attack might have been caused by her job working with charcoal? some of the other workers were wearing masks and in the next episode preview (i realize that the next episode preview is a super unreliable source for episode outcome speculation) after working the ahjumma's charcoal moving job, well in the taxi with beom-jo, in-ha looks like she might be sick?

!) Honestly, Hyung's evil turn almost ruined this show for me. I was rooting so hard for those boys to find each other and live happily ever after. They were totally my real OTP of this show. Luckily I'm so invested in the other characters at this point that I can't let it go just yet. But I might not have the heart to stick around when the funk truly hits the fan.

2)Also, am I the only one wondering why Dal Po doesn't just google his brother. I mean, it could at least narrow it down a little. Maybe lead to his social network profile or a phone book listing. Or hire a detective (thought that's maybe out of the question not that Gramps killed his pig family) I understand going on to be a reporter to clear his father's name but doing it to find his Hyung is a little far fetched when there are so many avenues that he hasn't tried. Like, one cop told him "no" and he's like "Whelp, guess I have no choice but to be a reporter."

3) Love Beom Jo. He's hilarious now that his creep factor is wearing off. Does anyone else thing he looks like Kim Woo Bin before he became a vampire?

About 1)
I think the writer wants to contrast Dal-po's and his brother's "coping strategies". Both of them "become" what they hate: The brother recreates the death of his father (destroying the reputation of a person on top of getting him killed), Dal-po becomes a ruthless reporter.
To indicate how "well" Dal-po manages his backstory baggage, we are given the extreme scale of his brother.

2)
Yep, well, a lot of suspension of disbelief is necessary for this show. Then again, maybe the people there KNOW that they live in a universe with huge amount of karma-guided coincidences, and when things don't work out naturally, they KNOW that the universe has other plans for them.

beom jo character is a loser, why because i objectively look at his actions and personality.

He is a liar and continue to lie to In ha, i laughed when he said to Dal po he knows In ha much longer than he thinks. Yeah you got to know all about her private life through lies and deception.

second he stole a someones job, nakasan, nothing more despicable to a hard working korean man looking to support himself and pursue his dream by being overlook so they can give a job to rich loser with connections who ONLY PURPOSE TO CHASE INHA

and i don't care if others hate me for saying this but its an undeniable fact most people who like beom jo character is because he is rich good looking guy
Cinderella complex anyone here???

I judge drama characters like the law judges would be criminals, not because there ugly or attractive, rich or poor, religion, creed.

Its true what social science studies say we are naturally prejudiced one way or the other, we just don't admit

so to finish my rant You go girl (referring to In ha)and continue to reject that loser.
