ok visually this cast looks awesome =)

here's to hoping they can play their instruments convincingly because ok no matter how good the acting might be, this series spends enough time with the actual music playing part that if they can't do it well....that would be awful....

im staring to get really excited for this. I haven'y seen the original japanese one, so if it doesnt follow the same plot or doesnt pay homage to the original its not going to be a let down for me. Im jsut looking foreward for this, just as a drama, on its own.

Love Joo won, he can really get into his character and has fantastic range. I havent seen shim eun kyung in anything, so i cant say much about her, but many people seem happy with her casting so im going to go with that.

on a side not, can someone explain (if its not really a spoiler or anything) what her oddities are? or why she might be considered a bit, not all there, depending on the actor? Im just curious, odd as in quirks, or odd as in full-blown crazy?

Hopes that this will be a good show ?

Excited to see this just because Shim Eun Kyung. Like javabeans said if there's a young actress that can play Nodame, it's Shim.

Joo Won is so hot. I'm not really expecting much from the story but so far this drama, Misaeng and Secret Door are my 3 anticipated dramas this season.

Oh good Lord, Joo Won. This may not be my favorite hair on him (I have spent A LOT of time thinking about his various hairstyles!), but he looks FINE.

Also looking fine: that cellist. Though I obviously hope that all the actors are good at pretending to play their instruments, I hope it most for the cellist, because in my experience there is nothing more attractive than somebody playing the cello well.

omg yes im so happy go kyung po is part of this cast! now if only kim seul gi was part of the cast :D other than that, im getting excited to see the other castmembers as well. they seem to match really well. i just hope the directing does not let us down T-T

I love that the stills evoke the spirit of the original but the actors are making the characters their own too. :3 And I'm glad for this, because while I absolutely loved Tamaki Hiroshi and Ueno Juri, I don't want to look for them in Joo Won and Shim Eun-kyung's interpretation (the same way I ended up comparing the original cast of You're Beautiful to the new one in Fabulous Boys).

there's a cello player in Nodame Cantabile, Osamu mukai character XD the playboy who loves to date married woman. But the different is maybe the K version intriduce him earlier.

i just googled shim's profile and was flabbergasted to discover that she's twenty. TWENTY. i swear i thought she was fifteen, and she LOOKS fifteen. so the age gap between the actors isn't nearly as wide as i thought... werd. mind blown.

Wow, these pictures are actually encouraging. Shin Se-kyung and, more surprisingly, Joo-won look the part not just in terms of how they're styled but their expressions and how they're interacting. I really didn't expect for there to be any chemistry (romantic, at least) between these two, but maybe I'll be proven wrong! Hopefully Joo-won is understated with his acting and doesn't go overboard with the chic/aloof, prickly, and cold (i.e. asshole) aspects of his personality, as that will sink the whole show and make his Chiaki a caricature (one Kdramas are way too fond of) that you don't root for and, thus, don't buy into the heroine's interest in him - give him some genuine vulnerability and sensitivity, make him engaging.

LOL I love how Do Hee is wearing heels and she is still shorter than the contrabass.

I love Masumi-chan's pose! It's really subtle but it feels like he's expressing Masumi's personality. Getting excited!

OMG Joo Won looks so very much like the Chiaki of the manga/anime and the J-drama. And Shim Eun Kyung will make a smashing Nodame, I bet. She certainly looks the part. Please let this be as good as it appears from the posters!

Hmm... After reading about this drama here for months I started reading the manganese and really loved it, soo I'd really like to watch this drama as well. Especially because I totally love SEK despite never actually having her seen acting in something xD
(She's just SUPER cute in those Hi-Mart ads with JJS though :3)

My problem though is... and I'm a bit afraid to admit it - I don't like Joo Won. At all. I actually find him really unattractive. And when I tried to watch the Happy Together episode with him, I couldn't make it till the end...
Buuut, of course I'll always let myself be convinced! Maybe he's just one of those people you have to see moving in a drama.

Since I only have time to watch exactly one drama a week right now though, the chances are probably rather slim...

NODAME! I'm anticipating day by day for this. Gotta love the casts, I really hope this drama wouldn't disappoint because I'm all in.

Haven't seen the original and am not particularly interested so I've pretty much been an on-looker on all the hubbub. Still, while I don't think anything looks bad I was expecting something different. A more manic feel I guess based on the comments. Case and point: I thought Nae-il would pop more. Either way I like SEK so I think she can pull it off. It's funny that we've seen some rather...errr eye-catching clothing on characters who are ostensibly normal, but when they finally have the liberty to go all out--kinda underwhelmed.

As for Joo-wan, I'll suspend judgment since on paper the character's a familiar arch-type and though Joo-wan's good, I don't see him doing anything new with said arch-type. (I also can't consider him hot; I didn't to begin with though I respected him, but ever since 1N2D, though I'm considerably younger than him, I have a grandmotherly affection for him, I see him as a kid playing cool).

Do-hee looks adorable, looking forward to her. Go Kyung-pyo I also really like, and will stomach the blonde for what should be an entertaining part. The other two I got nothing. Judging by the tense feelings on both sides of the divide I hope the drama goes well; The comments are gonna be a shit-storm aren't they?

TBH, will get ratings <10, I'm sure.

okay.. i'm falling for Go Kyung-pyo and Do Hee's character. they look awesome in this image, Go Kyung-pyo looks like an easy going person with those colorful clothes and hair while Do hee looks like a cute little sister with those cello bigger than her body. But their expression is the one that caught my attention. wish this would be GOODDDD

Shim Eun Kyung and Joowon seem to have good chemistry in those stills. I can hardly wait !!!

They really need to rent some *real* instruments. Those in the shots look hella cheap and hella fake. It can't cost that much money to rent out a few old string instruments? I'm not talking about Strads or Guarneris or Guadagninis. There are plenty of affordable 19th c - early 20th instruments with the aged varnish to make the visuals look convincing. I hope they aren't using those plasticky new instruments for the actual drama.

I finished watching this drama a couple of weeks ago and when I was watching I always thought Nodame was autistic or has asperger's syndrome. Did anybody else felt the same way?

I hope they make this a classic version instead of the Anime Humor in the J-drama live version. I think the Jdrama live version could have done without the body slamming and chiaki pretty much "abusing" nodame. I watched the live jdrama version first, and I had to wait til the second part to really like it. The Jdrama live nodame looked the part, but I didn't like how she played the character as someone who has a physical problem. When I watched the anime version, I fell in love with it after the first episode. First, Nodame does not have a physical problem that the Jdrama Live version portrayed, she walked normally and have normal hand gestures not like the live version where I thought nodame had a physical problem where she coudn't control her hands or arms.
The anime version made Nodame normal physically, just that she is in her own universe like all Child prodigies tend to be.

So far so good. Me like, expect the random cello player?! But will see,how this play out. :)

I have faith in Joo Won, Shim Eun Kyung and Go Kyung Pyo. I'll tune in for them!
