Oh Snap! Surplus mermaid princess

I don’t know why they didn’t just title Surplus Princess The Little Mermaid instead, since that’s the pun (surplus princess is just a mumble away from sounding like the other title), and also the source material: The story is about an actual mermaid who comes to Seoul in search of true love and has a hundred days to become human. Cue romance and, apparently, employment hijinks.
Lead actress Jo Boa (Horse Healer, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band) plays the heroine; Song Jae-rim and Ohn Joo-wan co-star. The drama airs on tvN as a Thursday drama beginning on August 7.

Anyway, i'm looking forward to this. Don't know the lead female, but she's pretty. Perfect for a mermaid. Hope her acting is decent enough.
I just want a cute romance. Don't need, and not expecting, anything epic from this.
I'm pretty much willing to give anything from TvN a chance these days.

Why, exactly, would a mermaid come to Seoul looking for true love? Why not Busan, or Jeju, or Honolulu, or Tahiti? Someplace where the sea is more interesting and you don't have to cross a mile of mudflats to get to shore half the day?

I don't know much about this actress but I will give her the benefit of the doubt because she did not have much of a character to work with in Shut Up. Her character was mostly just a foil for the the male characters, and I cannot fault the actress for that. That said, I'm in this for Song Jae-rim, and I hope he gets to deliver a heaping helping of his quirky happy-making character goodness.

On the one hand:
1) It's a retelling of The Little Mermaid, which is my favorite Disney movie.
2) Mermaids are my favorite mythological creature. (Anytime anyone asks me 'pirates or ninjas,' I tell them mermaids.)
3) It's going to be about what it's like to be unemployed and struggling to find work. That is definitely something I can relate to, lol.
4) It's a TVN drama. I love TVN.
On the other hand:
1) She's a mermaid who doesn't like people who are unemployed? Or was that just part of the initial description and now no longer part of the overall plot? (I hope it's not part of the plot anymore. Cause that makes no sense.)
2) Why Seoul? Wouldn't it be a little difficult for a mermaid to get to Seoul? (I know nothing about geography, so forgive me if I sound stupid with that question.) Not to mention every Korean drama in existence is set in Seoul. (You would think no one lives anywhere else in South Korea.) I feel like Busan would be a better location, geographically speaking and just for the sake of some variety.
But most importantly:
Kim Seul Gi will have some kind of role in this drama. That means I have to watch it.
I guess it's time to admit I have a girl crush on Kim Seul Gi, lol.
