Bath time snuggles for It’s Okay, It’s Love

Here’s the first poster and first (non-plagiarized) teaser for It’s Okay, It’s Love, SBS’s next Wednesday-Thursday drama about a mystery novelist and a shrink. I just really, really hope she’s not his shrink, because then that makes the poster all kinds of wrong. If you don’t think about that possibility, then the poster is sexy and sweet, and Jo In-sung and Gong Hyo-jin make sleeping in a bathtub seem appealing. The copy reads: “Are we that weird?”

The newest drama from writer Noh Hee-kyung and PD Kim Kyu-tae has had its share of bumps along the way before even making it on the air: First their leading actress Gong Hyo-jin was in a major car accident and had to get surgery, and then they released a set of teasers that were later discovered to have been plagiarized (they’re literally frame-by-frame reenactments of New York-based artist Celia Rowlson-Hall’s short films).

The production has suffered its share of embarrassing blows in the aftermath, but the latest teaser seems like a concerted effort to show the happy set, with lots of adorable hijinks from Gong Hyo-jin, Sung Dong-il, and Lee Kwang-soo. Maybe it’ll be a light fun summer romance after all.

Based on this video and previous teasers, the drama seems to be leaning more to a rom-com show. I can't complain because I adore rom-coms but I just wish that Gong Hyo Jin can ae given something different, a meaty melo role that will showcase her acting range.

...she's done melo-ish romance before -- just well before she got famous for rom-coms and her more popular ones tend to be in that category. i don't think she needs to prove much at this point because her repertoire is pretty solid and varied.

I watched her in Thank You and she was great. She has nothing to prove as an actress because she can do melo and rom-com. I just feel that she is being typecasted.

Good movie! I was shocked to find out in that movie that both GHJ and Shin Mina smoke. Korean movies are world's apart from Korean television shows from KBS, SBS and MBC.

I loved Sisters on the Road so much, it's an underrated gem and the two actresses have such amazing chemistry.

And it's an eye-opener to anyone who thinks Shin Mina is only capable of playing spunky wide-eyed ingenue roles.

Though I've been looking forward to and is super excited for this drama, the wacky teasers and promo pics have made me question what kind of genre this drama was supposed to be under? Was this always meant to be rom-com? I imagined it'd be kind of the opposite—all melo-drama type, no? Nevertheless, I'm definitely tuning in and to be honest, I wouldn't mind funny, just please oh please BE GOOD. I can't wait.

But what plagiarized teasers, though? The dancing ones?

Last thing, I love Gong Hyo-jin's look here! Probably my favorite drama look of hers yet. Also excited to see the rest of the cast in action (Kwang-soo and Jo In-sung playing impaired characters is going to be very intriguing—mostly because I think they'd be really believable and realistic).

So true about her style this time round. I always found it curious that the actress is considered a fashionista, when her characters always seem to wear like old fresh produce type clothing. I mean it often adds to the characters but refreshing change for this drama

well, Gong Hyo-jin in real life has an edgy, very unusual fashion sense (especially for a Korean celeb) so her reputation is well deserved.

But I loved her look in Master's Sun, it suited the character perfectly and a lot of her outfits in the second half were perfect - from the bird print minidress in ep 8 and plaid backless dress in episode 9, to the simple skirts and sweaters she wears later in the drama, it was great on the fashion front AND in character. I like that they make her look good here too.

I'm actually really excited for this. For some reason, I feel like it's going to be a really interesting, unique show with some quirky romance thrown in. I love Gong Hyo-Jin and I've been waiting to see Jo In-Sung in a drama. Can't wait.

Where have these rom coms been the last 5 months? In all I'm excited, but must admit the slightest disappointment of the rom com turn it seems to be taking.
If only becuase the premise seemed to imply a type of drama that didn't fit into the K-Drama mold. Deep dive into their minds and not just their hearts. But I'll take 10 romcoms over all the serial killers and melo madness of late.
So excited for this drama!

Hmm. Haven't been following the news so when you guys mentioned plagiarism, I thought you guys meant the High School King of Savvy thing. Doesn't bode well for the promo team...

But anyway, I'm intrigued by the disparity between the teasers and synopsis, so I'll be sure to check the drama out.

I'm not sure i understand what the show is aiming for but both leads are incredibly charming so i would welcome a summer rom com over a melo, but i do hope the show allows the two leads to stretch their acting muscles. They are both too talented to just coast on their charm.

Sung Dong Il & Kwang Soo together are hilarious.

I think this will be a Rom-Com, but a bit melo, because the character are mental sick, and this is a bit dramatic.

Kwang Soo & Hyo Jin characters seems best friends, i think it's good, they have geat chemistry in running man.

I only hope a loveline with kwang soo, i love his love stories in other dramas.

My english is bad sorry people xddd

Hey, if she made a ghost seeing "loser" with dark circles into must watch drama, I am not worrying about her as a "crazy" shrink. Unlike newbies in Doctor Starnger, the main leads here are too experienced to end up in some unwatchable show.

I never buy into k drama promos so all the cute is suspect, yikes, especially with Jo In-sung in the lead. If it does lean toward rom com, I think that it would be a breath of fresh air to see him in a rom-com role. It's listed on koreandrama.org as a melo, romance, medical drama. It's listed on wikipedia as a rom com medical. That all kind of spells wtf, but I am hoping that it works. I like the basic premise, and I like the cast.

hmm that poster reminds me at one of the poster from Jang Nara chinese film flying with me, though she and Jimmy Lin did have thier clothes on and there was real water in the bath and it was set outside not inside, so I guess three different things passes the non plagiarized rule.

watched the new (longer) promo for this and it further portrays this drama as a romcom. I thought this drama was supposed to be a mello? Not that I am complaining because absolutely love Gong Hyojin in romcoms and it will be nice to see Jo Insung in something a bit lighter. I mean come on, who can resist when Jo Insung smiles and laughs.
I can't wait till it starts. not really interested in any of the current dramas. first week of Marriage, Not Dating was okay but i'm not sure it will hold my interest.
