Park Bo-young considers horror project Girl
by javabeans
Park Bo-young (Hot-Blooded Youth, Werewolf Boy) is reportedly eyeing her next film project, which is a horror-suspense story set in the 1930s titled Girl. Despite the unremarkable title (so nondescript and common), the movie sounds like an interesting twist on a familiar premise — chilling events unfold at a boardinghouse — given the period slant; the story, which incorporates paranormal elements, will take place during the Japanese Occupation years.
Park is only considering the role for now, and her management has issued the obligatory “Nothing has been decided” statements, since goodness knows nobody can make a decision in this industry without first announcing that they’re thinking of making a decision, maybe, someday. They say that she is in the process of considering several potential projects, and Girl is one of them. If she should take the role, it would be her second stab at the horror genre, having starred with Joo-won in the 2012 horror-thriller Don’t Click (aka Unidentified Video).
I miss Park Bo-young in dramaland since she’s such an engaging young talent, but she’s got such a promising film career in the making that I can see why she opts for the cinema route. Most of her drama work has been in childhood roles or non-prime-time youth dramas (Strongest Chil-woo, Jungle Fish, The King and I, Run Mackerel) so she’s actually only been a leading lady in her movie projects. I’d really love to have her doing more TV shows, though; as we saw with Jeon Ji-hyun, you can build up over a decade of work and be an A-list star but still lack a sense of familiarity and rapport that a solid drama can give you, and I want Park to get in on that action. Maybe next time?

Such a talented girl and with horror movie (hopefully) in tow, I'll be checking this out. My penchant for Korean horror movies suffers me so due to the limited option for movies, though one can't exactly complain since the fear it induces make me stray away for a week before seeing one movie again.

*Tears.*
I read Park Bo-young, lit up, then horror, frowned, then film, BOO. Drama, drama, drama. She's got the acting stuffs. I wish she would pick a drama. And one where she doesn't die, and her beloved doesn't die, and there's a satisfying, happy ending worth the watch. Ha. Yeah right. I feel like she would pick the opposite of that, darn.
Hope a script too good to pass up comes along soon. And can we throw some Song Joong-ki into the mix? (After military duty, of course.) Yes, wait for him, Park Bo-young. Lol.

Yeah, I also hope she will do a drama. I'm starting to afraid that she'll only do movies kinda like Won Bin. I know movies are usually better than dramas, but I want to see her longer on screen.

It would be a dream come true if Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Young acted in another movie together again. I love them together so much!

I can't blame anyone that opts out of the taxing k-drama system to move over to film. Won't watch this film though (whether she's in it or not), as I can't handle horror.
"nobody can make a decision in this industry without first announcing that they’re thinking of making a decision, maybe, someday"
That's generally becoming the fashion, in film, music, among bloggers and critics, you name it. I find the pre-announcements of announcement of announcements seriously annoying, because, seriously, in the world of information overload we live in I'd rather people say something when they've got something to say.

I really love Park Bo Young!! ^_^
she is so TALENTED & PRETTY!
I am happy about this news & I DO AGREE with Javabeans regarding her starring in dramas!
this sentence from Javabeans really made thoughtful!
"you can build up over a decade of work and be an A-list star but still lack a sense of familiarity and rapport that a solid drama can give you"
COULD someone please explain this to me?! :)
P.S: I really LOVE to see Lee Min Ho & Park Bo Young romancing each other in a drama!
I like them to reunion! They worked together in "Our School E.T","Mackerel Run","Secret Campus".However back then they both weren't popular!! They also didn't romance each other!

Bo Young unnie can both act in a drama and movie like other actresses because filming a movie takes usually about 2 or 3 months!
"Moon Geun-Young" will be acting in the movie "Sado" & she is also considering a drama!
"Ha Ji Won" has recently finished her hit drama "Empress Qi" & now she is up for a movie called "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant"!
I hope Bo Young unnie will act in a drama after this movie!

I like horror set in the past.
I think The Turn of the Screw is still a scary story.
