Oh Snap! Ghost Story of a Girl
by javabeans
Ack, horror movie posters! Once you see ’em, you can’t get them out of your head. Here are the posters (and a couple of stills) from Ghost Story of a Girl, which once was titled Girl’s Grave and stars Kim So-eun as a ghost girl who’s lost her memory and Kang Haneul as the teenage outcast who can see her. They form a friendship as a series of disappearances at the high school unfolds, which are somehow connected to a secret regarding the ghost girl.
I know what you’re thinking: That poster’s not so bad. Neither are those stills. Scroll. Scroll. Scr— ACKKKKKKK!
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Oh this looks interesting =) And so right up my alley^^
Haven't seen Kim So Eun in anything other than Horse Doctor which I am currently watching and she's really endearing there and I like her.
Kang Ha Neul... YES PLEASE =) The more of him in lead roles (movie or drama) the better!

This sounds interesting! And I like the two of them well enough that I think I would enjoy it.
I went straight down here after seeing the warning... I'm too scared to look! Can someone just tell me whether it's something that jumps at you or not? :P Or is it just a scary picture?

Maybe it was just the angle, but the scariest sight to me was what appeared to be Kim So-eun's granny-looking boobs in the first picture

You do realize that my comment was in jest. Clearly, no one would believe that this girl has granny boobs. There are however, some photos that do us less justice than others. If I offended you personally, my apologies.

the fact that you think joking about a woman's breasts is harmless is the problem here.

I think Jody was just harmlessly pointing out an amusing illusion in the first picture that makes it appear like she has granny boobs. You may have misunderstood her intentions. Anyway, this looks interesting. I wonder if this is truly horror or just a movie with supernatural elements.

I feel bad for saying this every time. But the first thing I notice with Kim So Eun is her nose. I just can't focus. T___T why did such a pretty girl have to do this to herself? Why D=?!

Yeah, the scariest pic for me is the first. Don't know why anyone would think the last pic scary. But I never like horror movie, not even Kang Haneul will tempt me to watch.

Just saw those as weird folds on her blouse/sweater- thing; which actually makes her look flat-chested.

I like Kim So-eun's acting, she has a very natural charm about her and made a fan of me ever since Boys Over Flowers. Her character in that was a clingy stalker in every other version of that story including the original manga, but she did a great job of portraying that character as having an actual spine and some connection to Kim Bum.
(also, yessss, she and Kang Haneul are finally proper first leads in something! High time that happened)
P.S. Thanks for the warning, JB! That is indeed not a still you want to see right before going to sleep.

It's not just you, I think she had something done (highly unnecessary too - girl was a natural cutie), but she looks largely the same in the third still with KHN.

Couldn't figure out what the brou-haha was over KSE when she blew up during BOF (didn't watch it), but after I saw her in "The Man Who Can't Get Married" (highly recommended) - totally got it since not only can she act, she has this certain charm and charisma about here and when she smiles (esp. looking upwards), her eyes really shine.
KSE was also the best thing in "Empress Cheonchu" (pretty much stopped watching once her character moved into her adult years).

I've seen that drama! It's not one of my favourites, but it is an excellent drama and it made me an even bigger fan of hers since she basically made a stock 'young girl in the big city' character into something charming and relatable - and she was only 19 at the time, too.

From everything I heard, "excellent" is not the term that comes to mind w/ regard to BOF - maybe "fluff"?

I was talking about The Man Who Can't Marry, no one except the delusional would call BOF 'excellent' lol.

That poster wasn't so bad in light of the fact that now whenever you tell me to scroll down to see something scary, I am bracing myself to have something jump out at me like the Gap Dong web comic.
As long as it doesn't move, it's fine.

Hmm.
Have you seen him in Angel Eyes, where he plays the childhood (not really a child, but ...) version of Lee Sang Yoon? There, I found him play a character that was just too sweet (I mean, industrial-strength white powder sugar sweet) and emotive (he cries just about every five minutes then flashes a megawatt grin in the next minute with a frequent burst of exhilaration). As far as this goes, he was magnificent. I promise you that you will not find him stiff.
I must confess. I just couldn't bear Angel Eyes any longer, when it escalated his sweet/emotive act with a saintly/out-of-this-world mother.

Jumped right here to the comments! Yeah, I'm such a whimp. I'm definitely not into horrors. I even skipped the ghost parts in Bride of the Century and some other dramas with all kinds of ghostly creatures. But Kang Ha neul & Kim So eun in a movie together is soo tempting...whyyy does it have to be a horror one! I guess I'll have to be brave enough to take a peek at the posters first...*deliberating*. Ok. Here I go...
