Lee Sang-woo considering Feel-Good Day
by awcoconuts
Lee Sang-woo is considering a role in upcoming SBS weekend drama, Feel-Good Day. We’re getting a few conflicting reports, with one news article confirming the actor’s involvement and another posted shortly after refuting the claim, but both stories are in agreement that an offer was made.
Lee Sang-woo is currently on a short break after wrapping up Monday-Tuesday drama Warm Words last month, and is said to be considering Feel-Good Day amongst a few other projects. If accepted, this would be his third consecutive SBS drama, as he was also in last year’s weekend drama Goddess of Marriage.
Feel-Good Day is a story about a determined single mother who has raised three daughters on her own. Her goal, now that the daughters have grown, is to marry all three women off to decent men.
Lee Sang-woo would play the eldest grandson of the family next door, who earns steady income as a corporate drone. Although he’s inherited his grandfather’s brusque and conservative nature, he’s also received kind-hearted qualities from his father, and is intrinsically a good man. He is romantically involved with the middle sister, and he’s an “eomchinah” — perfect potential son-in-law material — which seems like the type of role made for Lee Sang-woo. Doesn’t he already seem like a handsome, kind, sensitive, and beloved-by-parents prospective mate?
Feel-Good Day will be written by Moon Hee-jung of I Miss You and Can You Hear My Heart. The drama will begin airing weekends in April after the conclusion of Passionate Love this month.

Oooooh. I thought the arc of his character in Warm Words was fantastic! Life can take unexpected turns and bad things will happen. It's what you ultimately do with them that counts.
His role in Warm Words definitely piqued my interest in whatever he chooses to do next. Funny how that works.

My thoughts exactly. This man has such a dynamite smile and we NEVER get to see him use it. Can we not get him into a good ROM COM??

In agreement with everyone here. I love this actor, but haven't liked anything he appeared in since First Wives' Club. Life is Wonderful was good but he only had a bit part in it, playing half of a gay couple, and he didn't appear convincingly gay.
I hope he finds a good show that we can get behind wholeheartedly!

Hm this could be nice if it goes the Can You Hear my Heart route instead of the I Miss You route. Still, my tuning in will probably depend on the rest of the cast.

What would be REALLY original would be if the woman put all this effort into finding men to marry her daughters and then fell in love with and married one of them herself.

Some actors choose carefully their projects, Lee Sang Woo seems to be everywhere these days. Two years ago, he even was in Feast of the Gods and Horse Doctor at the same time.
Part of me thinks he wants to cash in as much money as possible before producers realize he can't act to save his life.

I agree... such a handsome man, but not handsome men can act. His acting is sort of bland. Mellow guy. Instead I would suggest the second lead in "Let's Eat", the amazing, underrated actor who plays Attorney Kim (Shim Hyung-Tak) with such depth and range. He deserves to be the lead. I don't know where he's been hiding, but this man can act and his voice and smile are mesmerizing.

I fell in love with this actor watching him in Feast of Gods. And that's pretty much the only thing I saw him in as his following projects didn't appeal to me much, so can't really tell how good of an actor he is or not. In Feast of Gods, maybe he just had a great character which won me over, and I got obsessed with finding out more about him.
I read an interview that he did for a sports magazine I think, and he actually explained that the reason why he chooses to do weekend dramas is because they are longer, so he can spend a lot of time to learn as an actor. He specifically picks long projects so he can grow as an actor, I thought that was pretty cool of him to admit that. Now, whether that is the truth or not, who knows. He sounded very down to earth and honest, knowing that he started late as an actor compared to others, he knows that he needs to work on his skills as that does not happen overnight. The whole idea that practice makes perfect. I wish he did choose shorter projects, and I too would like to see him in a fun rom-com or something not too dark or dealing with cheating and affairs... I really want to watch more of him, but haven't broken down yet to watch Goddess of Marriage or Warm Words yet...just not my cup of tea... But yes, the man does deserve a break! But from the interview he did sound like he is someone who likes to push himself, so maybe no break until he is satisfied.

He was actually really good in Warm Words just recently. So much more personality and depth. I think he needs to get away from the "perfect man" roles, which make him seem bland.

Lee Sang-woo is another actor who should get more leading roles (although he was in The Road Home years ago, but that was a daily).
But like someone mentioned above...no more depressing roles a la Goddess of Marriage! That was such a waste of time and brain power to watch...much less a waste of LSW's talent.
When I first heard the premise, thought it was similar to The Marriage Scheme (another waste of Kang Hye-jung)...but he does fit that character description to a tee.

I used to think of him as yet another bland actor but he surprised me in a good way in One Warm Word. As long as this drama helps him continue growing I'm pleased, I'll wait to see how the story turns out before tuning in though.

someone give this man a lesson on how to take breaks and rest up =( He's been picking up projects one after the other and literally going from one drama set onto the next consecutively since "Feast of the Gods" .... Not that I mind having him in my drama-watching life and on my screen, cuz c'mon, it's freaking LEE. SANG. WOO. <3 But still.... sigh

That's the one, Don't Hesitate!
If I remember correctly, there were actually two transplants in this drama. Heroin accepts to donate part of liver to her BF, spends a few years in a coma, gets dumped by said BF who leaves her for evil best best friend, and at the end decides to donate again to the same guy for the hell of it.
That was one crazy makjang drama, even by daily kdrama standards!

Now that was one crazy drama! I watched it a couple of years ago and I think I introduced my family to it last year. My parents and my sister were watching it - completely addicted.
We had the biggest row over this drama - it was truly one of the best makjang dramas ever!! Completely crazy but so good at the same time. Now that is a daily drama! I don't even mind the crazy plot lines because they were sooo good!
I keep waiting for him to act in something similar again.

That was "Don't Hesitate..." I first saw him in "Feast of the Gods," then went on to "Don't Hesitate" I loved him in that... And of course the last series drama "Warm Words" was a growth point for him too, as an actor....
I want him to take a needed rest, and will follow him, whenever he chooses his next project.. I hope it has the quality and depth of "Warm Words"

In the two dramas I've seen Lee Sang-woo in, he's been quite intersting.
In Feast of the Gods, I initially gave it a chance for the first couple of episodes but then decided to stop watching. ....... A couple of weeks later, I tuned in again and Lee Sang-woo appeared. ....... He was so interesting as Haemil that I watched the rest of that drama.
And he's been quite good in A Warm Word, with the short-fuse personality and all.
If he accepts this new role, let's hope it's another interesting character!

I like him so much in Feast of the God. Let him play role as single guy and pair him with beautiful young actress, I hate him play in family role and is pairing with pro-mature actress.
