Romance (and fighting) in posters for upcoming tvN rom-coms

Get ready for an influx of bubbly romantic comedy from tvN, which is about to launch two dramas in the genre: First is I Need Romance 3, premiering in another week and a half, and then Emergency Couple a week and a half after that. Both dramas have released posters and stills, so let’s take a look-see:

First we have the lovers of I Need Romance 3, Sung Joon and Kim So-yeon, getting cozy in the official poster above. The copy reads, “After meeting you, my heart started to pound once again.”

Kim So-yeon has played a wide range of personality types in her career and the lively rom-com heroine isn’t new to her, but it’s one that suits her surprisingly well given how at home she seems playing badasses or serious types. (Or perhaps it’s just surprising to me, since I’d seen her being moody and serious long before I saw her being playful and cute. She’s a chameleon.)

Down below we have a rather saucy-looking poster with the leads of Emergency Couple, Song Ji-hyo and Choi Jin-hyuk, or more specifically Song Ji-hyo on top of Choi Jin-hyuk, which, mmmm. Drama knows its audience.

I like that the show’s premise is inherently laden with conflict, because they’re a divorced couple who rekindles their romance, but not without also rekindling the antagonism that presumably led them to split the first time. If they didn’t work then, how will they figure it out now? Once you’ve established that they divorced, it’s no longer satisfying just to get them back to love again—love wasn’t their problem. The tagline hammers that in: “We were crazy and got married… and came to our senses and divorced!”

In the second poster and the stills at the bottom of the page, we get our first look at the supporting cast of Emergency Couple, which includes Lee Pil-mo (Light and Shadow), Choi Yeo-jin (Dream High 2), and Clara (SNL Korea). They’ll be playing fellow doctors in the emergency room where our leads work (though you couldn’t tell from the party outfits they’re wearing in that second poster).

I Need Romance 3 will be a Monday-Tuesday drama that premieres on January 13; Emergency Couple will be a Friday-Saturday drama that premieres on January 24.

Yeah, Jang Dong Gun & Chae Rim was my OTP and Kim So Yeon is so AMAZING in AAE and after all these years she still is!

The Song Ji Hyuk couple is sizzling with lovely animosity chemistry! Can't wait!

Song Ji Hyo working hard, and usual, and turning up groggy on the set of Running Man, which is also usual when she's doing a drama. Last episode she fell asleep on top of a giant Jenga tower, twenty feet off the ground. Adorably, of course.

Omg that sung joon poster is so cuteeeee. Also jihyo unnie is werking it. I bet they'll be a couple by the end of the movie. And have you girls heard. Gg sooyoung is dating the bad doctor from cruel city. Man i was crushing on him hard after watching that show. Erbodyyy coming out the closet!!!

Jin-Hee (Song Ji-Hyo) led a satisfying life as a dietitian. She then met medical school student Chang-Min (Choi Jin-Hyuk). Despite his wealthy family's strong opposition, Jin-Hee and Chang-Min decided to get married. Chang-Min's family is full of doctors. Chang-Min though gave up his medical internship and began working as a pharmaceutical salesman. Their marriage life was not happy. Chang-Min's family looked down on Jin-Hee and even Chang-Min seemed to change. Chang-Min began to think terribly of Jin-Hee and they finally divorced. After their divorce, Jin-Hee became a medical student and now works as an intern. Chang-Min also graduated from medical school and begins to work as an intern. One day, they meet in the emergency room for a hospital where they will both work together.

Dunno about the new drama of my favorite Running Man girl Mongji & of course the uber-hot Choi Jin Hyuk. It sounds so much like Paradise Farm(remember this terrible terrible drama ...someone???) Or maybe I am uber careful these days..about the premise of dramas that soon weird or to enthusiastic and end up being mediocre(Marry Hi if You Dare!) or even worse(*Hairs aka NightMa(i)rs*) ... And knowing that Song Ji Hyo is not really a drama-goddes (different with movies though) I don't know whether I should be anticipating her drama as her fan or fear of its (ratings)fall..
Anyway..Im glad we have some (other) superb dramas starting this year and Im sooo looking forward to my beloved franchise "I need romance 3" even though Im not a fan of the main actress.

I'm more excited to watch Emergency Couple mostly because I think Choi Jin Hyuk and Song Ji Hyo really have it going there with their chemistry.

Puppy could pretty much date anyone he wants, but he has said more than once than Yoona is his ideal type. So I'm super happy for him.

It's a good thing that it isn't Sunny who is dating Jung, or else Seojinnie would be sad. ;-)

Whoo, they both look cute! I LOVE the INR3 poster - they make a gorgeous couple. And the Emergency Couple poster is very saucy, haha - I like the tone it's setting. I've never been a fan of the I Need Romance dramas. Just too boring. Not even Sung Joon will get me to watch this.

Emergency Couple I will definitely watch, because of Song Ji-hyo and Choi Jin-hyuk. The only person that gives me pause is Clara. Just something about her makes me not want to see her. But I'll watch for the main couple, anyway.

VERY excited to see Emergency Couple, which looks like a lot of fun! AND it's on cable, so I'm hoping that means it could be a bit more naughty, as that poster implies. ;)

I know that Choi Jin-hyuk was recently a guest on Running Man, but here's hoping he is a guest again when this drama is ready to air.

Super excited for these two dramas! I'm super behind on dramas though. I have ones from 2012 that I need to catch up on! I hope that I Need Romance 3 will be even better than the first two and I can't wait to see Emergency Couple. tvN usually has some of the best dramas!

I'm not really a fan of Sung Join, he and Kim Woo-bin fall into the category of 'why do girls die for them?' in my eyes. But Choi Jin-hyukie oppa, love love love. I'm so excited for Emergency Couple. I've only seen Song Ji-hyo in Goong and I didn't like her character but I hope they can bring the chemistry in this drama. February will be a good month.

Emergency Couple storyline / concept kinda remind me with Paradise Ranch. They have ... ngg ... lil bit similarities. Got married in young age, divorced, then ... meeting again.
Anyway Choi Jin Hyuk - Song Ji Hyo , well deserved main role. Just looking at the poster, I can feel their chemistry (how can?).
I wish YFAS, PMAI, and soon EC and INR3 could heal my broken heart for Chilbong xixixi
