Jung Jae-young and Han Ji-min’s rom-com Plan Man

I could use some comedy this winter. Cat comedy is even better. Here’s a peek at the new rom-com movie Plan Man starring Jung Jae-young (Eleven O’clock) and Han Ji-min (Rooftop Prince), and it looks as hilarious as the premise advertised. When you throw an uptight OCD over-planner and a free-wheeling indie musician together, you get scaredy-cat hijinks, ironed underwear, and a good old-fashioned opposites-attract romance.

Jung Jae-young stars as a “nano-planner,” a man who sets an alarm for every activity throughout his day, and never makes a move without planning it out first. His daily morning routine consists of ironing all his linens and blowdrying every last drop of water from his bathroom after his shower, and his favorite thing is to straighten things that need straightening. One day he meets and falls in love with Cha Ye-ryun (Royal Family), but to his utter dismay, she rejects him because she dislikes a man who plans out every aspect of his day.

He’s so heartbroken that he lets Han Ji-min, a friend of the woman he has a crush on, help him transform himself from a Plan Man to a regular, carefree guy. Han Ji-min plays his total opposite in every way, as the lead singer of a rock band who plans for nothing and lives by her wits. They begin this uphill battle to loosen him up, and then she gets this crazy idea for a way that he can help her in return.

I love how uncomfortable she makes him in the trailer, just by virtue of her messiness. As soon as he picks up the cat it pees on his pants, and the trailer ends with Jung Jae-young shouting: “It’s not! It’s not! It’s not my pee!” Han Ji-min: “I won’t tell!” Hee. It looks cute, and hopefully there are some sparks to go along with the laughs.

Plan Man hits theaters January 9.

You're kidding! The guy's amazing, you would definitely like him! I think Jung Jae-young is known for roles that are more serious (Confession of a Murderer for example) so I'm really looking forward to this. Seeing him in a new light already just through these teaser images.

He is one of Korea's best and that's why you probably wont get to see him in dramaland ever.

No it isn't. Anything which puts Dramaland under pressure to create better works and attract A-listers is welcome. ;)

This sounds a bit like Uhm Tae Woong and Jung Ryeo Won's Never Ending Story. The woman was always planned and the guy was spontaneous. That was a very nice movie. I recommend it to everybody.

sounds hilarious. I know a few of OCDs who can get SO freaked out if you do something incomprehensible or mess up their routine. well, the serious cases are scary, they yell and burn their hands and hurt themselves when they are nervous. so this is a very very very tuned down version. thats why it is hilarious. but...I wanted to see the kitten in the trailer? or was it there and I did not notice?

I think I am in-between. I dont plan everything, usually live by guts, butI make plans for days off, since they come once a month.

While OCD might seem funny in movies and shows, it is much less so in reality. If you have ever watched the show "Hoarders", those are some extreme examples. Used to have a neighbor that was so bad that it got to the point where she could not even deal with junk mail - afraid to throw it out in case something "important" was in it.

dont need to tell me, my aunt is one. she has been collecting every newspaper and magazine published in Estonia since 1973. at this point we managed to make her empty one room, cause it was rotting. all together 800 kg of newspapers, 148 bars of soap, 3 boxes of old tv programs, 18 files of bills. there are 4 rooms left in grannys´ house full of newspapers. problem is she locks them and never cleans.
the real OCD can be an awful thing and a burden to the people around.

Oh no. I watched a couple of clips on OCD before, and it's really really so very debilitating. Can you imagine always having to count to 10 every time you see a red car? Or a crack in a tile? They know it makes absolutely no sense but can't help doing it.

I have slight OCD myself and I really feel a lot for those who have it much worse.

I don't think that they say he has OCD so I don't think they will patronize people who actually have it. That being said, I do see how it is often used as a trope for jokes in movies and stuff

I freaking love Jung Jae-young, he is amazing. One of those actors that we will probably never get to see in dramaland :(.

This sounds really cute and funny and that's all I need in my rom-coms. Also love the cat ears! I wish I could walk around in those outside of Halloween and not look crazy.

I absolutely LOVE Jung Jae-young. I haven't seen him in anything I didn't like - in particular "Castaway on the Moon". He will nail this character (with his awesome acting). I am soooo disapointed that this is a movie, I have no access to current Korean movies. If I am lucky I might see it on HULU in 5 years! He is a treasure....

I've seen few of his films and I always feel that he overacts certain scenes especially comedies. He does better in serious roles... The premise is cute and I think I'll enjoy this one...
