Jung Il-woo and UEE’s first poster shoot for Gold Rainbow

Cute, cute. It’s just a tiny peek, but here’s our first look at the leading foursome of MBC’s new weekend drama Gold Rainbow, starring UEE (Jeon Woo-chi) as the leader of seven orphans who band together to make their own family and Jung Il-woo (The Moon That Embraces the Sun) as the prosecutor who falls in love with her. I… don’t know many prosecutors who dress that way, though with Jung Il-woo playing him I fully expect him to ride up to the courthouse on a motorcycle and throw his robes on over his leather jacket.
It’s going to take more than separate posters to know if there’s any onscreen chemistry (seriously, would it have killed you people to include a real two-shot?) but I am looking forward to the pairing, which is pretty much my only reason for tuning in. The new weekender is set to follow Scandal and comes from the writer of May Queen and the PD of I Do, I Do, and stars UEE as Baek Won (100 won), the leader of a brood of orphans who form a bond and make their own family to take care of each other.
Lee Jae-yoon (Heartless City) and Cha Ye-ryun (Royal Family) play her oppa and unni Man Won (10,000 won) and Chun Won (1,000 won). Yup. Those are their names. I kid you not. As adults, Lee Jae-yoon will struggle with his growing attraction to Little Sis UEE, and be the silent Daddy Long Legs type who watches over her. Cha Ye-ryun plays the backstabby sister, who hates how poor they were, and will stop at nothing to feed her ambition.
The main couple will meet in childhood as well. (OF COURSE they do. Who’s even heard of a dramaland true love that wasn’t sealed by Fate and the meet-cute of tiny toddlers?) Jung Il-woo’s character gets shunted aside when his father remarries and starts a new family, but he’ll remain carefree and bighearted, and grows up to be a prosecutor. He’ll watch the heroine from afar and become her biggest supporter and strength, and their relationship is described as a “tug-of-war of affection.” Adorable. Evil sister aside, it’s got all the makings of a heartwarming family drama, though I guess your average family drama’s got one of those as well. Or three.
Gold Rainbow premieres November 2 on MBC.

I much prefer Jung Il woo to Lee Min Ho.
As for their looks, Lee Min Ho is a prime example of the Korean idealized male ,,, that means that very fine specimen of a successful plastic surgery. Big eyes and big nose etc,,, but while I have been living in out of Asia more than twenty years despite of my Asian origin, I sometimes am very fed up with people with big noses and big eyes,,, it is like eating a steak every single day despite of a vegetarian or some sort. Jung Il woo has a killer smile and something about him is very elegant,,, it is hard to pin point what makes him look classy. In my home country, there are guys who are from good families,,, not new riches,,, who carry this classy style,,,I see them in Europe as well. He has this style.

I have noticed a small wave of anti -Lee Min Ho comments. Although I am not a fangirl, I would be sad to see a trend develop. He has been around for a while but is still in his 20's and growing as an actor.

but there's no anti in what we wrote, we are just comparing, i think. For sure, the solid Lee Min-ho can always rebutt how good LMH vs. Il-woo. We are just being fans and just showing our preferences.
I for myself also likes LMH to, it just that I like JIW better, in fact, i wuv him!!! =)

me too...LMH.. i don't know why but somewhere somehow...i can't grasp his acting...i always have that feeling that there's missing in every acting he did...i hope he can be good in other character because if you compare him for Lee Jang Suk and Jo Woon...he's very far from them...am I am not even fan of these three...but acting aside the last two i mention they will be a good actors....

I love them both! Each has their strengths but they sure do have one thing in common...they both have AMAZING kiss scenes! Heck, I could rewatch their dramas for the kiss scenes alone!

I think i'll like this pair.
And yay, Jung Il Woo is back, my goodness gracious his last drama was moon embraces the sun and I have been experiencing some withdrawal syndrome, good thing I have a copy of That drama as well as 49 days and flower boy ramyun shop, if not i'd seriously need some psyche help to check my sanity...
I seriously liked UEE in ojakgyo brothers, but didn't watch her last drama outing with cha tae hyun. was not too compelled with the plot even though I love cha taehyun to all his tiny bits and adore UEE.
But these drama sounds promising, hahaha I have alwasy liked weekend drama, so this is good for me.

"Family" dramas scare me. But I can't resist a Jung Il Woo drama. Throw in Uee and Lee Jae Yoon and I'm completely sold. But I'm going in expecting makjang craziness. That way I won't be caught off guard. I don't believe they"heartwarming" descriptions anymore.

These stills are awesome! I seriously cannot wait for this. I am so looking forward to Jung Il-woo, especially. I haven't seen him in anything since Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, so I'm really happy he's gonna be in this. Why hasn't he done anything in a while? Not only that, but I'm ecstatic he'll be with Uee!

well, I personally hate UEE and Cha Ye Ryun, but on the other hand I love Il Woo oppa and Jae Yoon oppa so I'm basically torn. Ugh. I don't know, maybe this drama will change my view of UEE, but I doubt it will change my view of Ye Ryun.

Be still my heart. Hot damn he looks good here. I love me some Jung Il-Woo!! I guess I'll just have to watch this (even if he's paired up with her...sigh) just to get my fix. I've become so addicted with his work because he can act circles around his peers (hello?! 49 had be bawling my eyes out as if I were his childhood sweetheart. Still not over it...) He doesn't play safe with his roles, he's always up for the challenge to expand his repertoire, his interviews are honest, smart, and thoughtful, and he is seriously one of the best onscreen kissers I've seen in dramaland. Raymun Shop anyone?? What more can I ask for??

awww Jung Il Woo! why do I get a picture in my head how Unstoppable High Kicks´ not-really-such-a-bad-boy Yunho grows up to be a prosecutor to show everyone they were wrong about him? It really is like a "grown up version of the family rebel" and I like it. also, I feel like this is a very good match even with separate pictures!!!! UEE has lots of spirit, and she is also funny! and JIW has this unexplicable mixture of tenderness and sparkling.
I never get tired talking about him cause there is just something I cant explain so I try and try but ...

ERMERGERD!! I love Uee unni (such a sweetie!!) and Jung Il Woo oppa n.n If Jung Il Woo is able to do with this character what he did with his Scheduler character, then *melts into a puddle of goo*
On the other hand, Cha Ye Ryun... I don't hate her, I don't love her =) But oh dear, Lee Jae Yoon tried my patience very hard in Heartless City; dunno if it's his acting or if it was the character =.= so-help-me-lordy

I've only seen UEE in Ojakgyo Brothers, but I loved her there, and I like Jung Il-woo. The last drama I saw him in was Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. Did I miss a drama?
Is it wrong that I'm still so sick of Lee Jae-yoon's face because of Heartless City? I definitely won't watch this drama right away only for that reason, lol.
