Introducing our Dramabeans commenting policy
by javabeans
We’ve seen some questions floating around regarding commenting etiquette, so we thought we’d take this opportunity to put up an official Dramabeans Commenting Policy to clear things up.
We generally have an awesome commenter base here, with lots more respectful and well-spoken readers than bad apples. So first off, thank you for making this a fun place to hang out and talk dramas. At Dramabeans we always encourage robust discussion, open-minded debate, and a healthy dose of fanlove. And we just want to continue to foster the welcoming atmosphere here.
That said, with so many people commenting it can get a little unruly at times, and that’s where our policy comes in. If we can liken our comment threads to the best living room party ever, then we reserve the right to cut off that belligerent drunk guy who drinks all the tequila and is trying to make snow angels in potato chip crumbs. ‘Cause c’mon, that’s just gross. And also, we’re the ones who have to live in that living room once that guy leaves.
That’s why we’ve drawn up our guidelines here: Dramabeans Commenting Policy. Thanks, and happy commenting!

Just want you to know that I love this site so much mostly because of the comments I get to read in between recaps and the actual comments page at the end of a recap. I love the people here, its like being with old friends and buddies even though we are oceans apart. Regulars get each others' humor and can create a great roller coaster ride over one lousy or unforgettably great scene in a drama without getting offensive, aggressive, rowdy or all out inappropriate. Know what I mean?! Cheers!

not to sound like a buzz kill but will you be policing comments? i get the whole part about booting that 'belligerent drunk' from the party but im a bit taken back by all the particularity of the rules regarding grammar, spelling, et cetera.
i hope everyone here can foster a commenting community that does not require persistent patrolling or paranoia about having their comments deleted.
best.

I like your site, but limiting or chosing which posts are the best is sensoring.

has the "report comment" option gone away? I have something to report and it's not there (or here) - ?
