Jung Il-woo sings a track for for Ramyun Shop OST

The song isn’t released yet, but Jung Il-woo will be featured on the upcoming Flower Boy Ramyun Shop OST with the title track on its Part 3, “Someone Like You” (너란 사람).

Jung plays the delightfully immature, spoiled Chi-soo in the drama, and it’s been a hoot watching him grapple with actual human feelings the more he finds that not everybody (namely, our intrepid heroine) is going to kowtow to his every demand. It’s like Chi-soo’s got the social awareness of a 3-year-old, but wrapped up in an adult body. The song will be a warm ballad that’ll accompany Eun-bi’s (Lee Chun-ah) growing feelings as she starts to see more of Chi-soo’s childlike sincerity. Aw. We’ve sure seen a lot of the childlike, so it’s time for the latter part of that equation to step up to the plate.

If you’ll recall, Jung also contributed a track to the soundtrack of his last drama, 49 Days (posted below), which is one of my favorite tracks from that series. He’s reportedly working himself ragged (not a new state for him) with all-night shoots, song recording, and cameo appearance filming. Busy boy is busy.

Jung’s track releases on the 24th.

Yeah! The only good kpop nowadays comes from OSTs...

...except for a few artists, love their new albums (Sung Shi-kyung, Lee Seung-gi, JYJ)

Can we include Clover? Their lyrics are nothing new, but I can appreciate how they've mashed up various genres to make the music they make. And Gilme is a beast live. She can kill those notes like crazy. But yeah, kpop has been slipping in quality for quite some time now. They're turning out more idols than music these days. Although, there are others that are doing awesome unnoticed like the Korean hip-hop scene and the indie groups too. If not, there are other singers from around the world that provide excellent alternative music choices from the Celtic Woman to Te Vaka.

It's a real JIW bonanza week! More episodes of FBRS that continue to be made of win, his cameo in High Kick 3, and now he's singing! I concur with the poster above, his voice is very soothing...

@Ace "the only good kpop nowadays comes from OSTs.."
i agree with you completely! i don't like JYJ but when they sang for OSTs such Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Protect the Boss, my heart just swoon with Jaejoong's voice..
i like Jung Il Woo's song from 49 Days ost, and i can't wait for this one!

Erm...is that really necessary? He is a good actor but his voice is not really good. Too weak and he has difficulties to keep his voice on a even level. Without the strong backround music in 49days ost, people with more brain than love would run away.

So, JIW please stay away from singing...or, please get a teacher.

Which is more cruel? Tell someone who cannot sing that they can sing. Or just be honest.

This is really the worst song from "49 Days."

Please, yes, get a teacher.

I prefer honesty. And Korean OST normally are pretty good compared to usual K-Pop scene, so his voice sounds especially weak.

I think since JIW is selling that good they also want make money with him on everything. But he is not an idol, he is an actor. Hopefully he won't burn out or break down from stress.

I really like this 49 Days song, i currently have it on repeat on my iPhone. He might not be that great of a singer but there's something about his voice that I just love.

A lot of professional singers are like that. They can't necessarily sing, but they have enough personality or just enough talent to get them through. And I don't really have a problem with that.

As a trained musician I think he actually has raw talent. I appreciate that he doesn't push his voice like so many singers today. His vibrato is even and not over-much. It doesn't sound like he's been auto-tuned at all, which is amazing for amateur singers. The airy tone in his voice is from the lack of training. He accesses his falsetto with relative ease.

I think his voice is 'good' in his ability to create an even, consistent (albeit weak) tone. Whether or not you like the TONE QUALITY is a whole other story.

Does he need to be trained? OH YES. But is he unfit to record a few tracks? As a popular actor in a well-written show, I don't think its unreasonable to have him contribute.

Wow, why are all Korean actors so talented? Usually in America you're lucky if they're good at acting and decent at singing. In Korea it seems like everyone is multitalented. Makes me feel incompetent next to ya'll.

i agree with you Raine...ahhh..way to go Jung Il woo...we really don't expect him to be a singer as him being a very good actor very good in acting is good enough.Being able to sing that well that unexpectedly made our hearts melt is just a bonus.
