Park Shi-hoo keeps his finale tradition alive

Aw, I really love that Park Shi-hoo has taken to creating his own tradition — he’ll be watching the finale of his current drama, The Princess’s Man, along with a group of his fans. Other stars have done it before him, but he’s really the only one to turn it into his trademark. He did it with Prosecutor Princess, and again with Queen of Reversals, and tomorrow he’ll be meeting fans to watch the end of his most popular drama to date.
It may not seem like a big deal to do a fan event for each drama, but if you consider that dramas shoot nearly live, it means he goes straight from set after months of grueling shoots, and likely an all-nighter the day before, to then catch the finale with fans. But Park Shi-hoo’s built a reputation for being loyal and accessible to fans, and he considers the event a commitment to his fanbase, which is just really endearing.
Park: “Watching the finale together is like a promise with my fans. I was able to complete this project because my fans cheered me on, so watching the finale with them is a small way that I can repay their support.”
The event — a mini fanmeeting, with the finale screening and a question-and-answer session — will take place in Seoul as the finale airs on October 6, and Park Shi-hoo will be headed straight into shoots for his upcoming film I Am a Murderer with Jung Jae-young. Whew, someone get this guy a nap.

Recaps come whenever the Dramabean ladies' have the time and energy to do it. As readers, we just show our appreciation when they do pop up, we do not request for recaps as part of recap etiquette. Or, one of you could always step up and do a recap, just sayin'.

You are so right about his smile. There's something about it..his mouth is..well...so cute when he smiles! This is my first drama with Park Shi Hoo, and honey, to put it lightly, he has a very dedicated fan in me. Love his acting. And personality. And physique. And I so wish I could watch the finale with him. Ah well, as someone said, I can dream.

I always love PSH and I love him even more... He is absolutely amazing in TPM... I love this drama and I don't want it to end but at the same time I can't wait for the finale.. please just don't make him die at the end...

I'm a huge Park Shi-hoo fan. I think he gets progressively better in each thing I see him in, especially with line delivery. His timing was very good in Prosecutor Princess. His role Queen of Reversals really impressed me. His portrayal of the chaebol was refreshing because he wasn't a total douche with a complex. I can't wait to see him as a murderer!

I forgot to say that another reason I like PSH is because he seems really down to earth and humble in all of his interviews. I think creating such a thoughtful tradition is awesome. You rock PSH!

did u like him in Family Honor? i love watching that series over and over, mainly because I love hearing the songs. but PSH's character's childish antics towards the end was really cute. i also think he looks good with the main girl. i'm so envious with the way PSH kisses her.

This man has been in my mind since QoR....
It's funny cause I watched all of his dramas before that (Iljimae, Perfect Neighbour, Which stars are you from, Prosecutor Princess) but only in QoR that I fell really hard on him..so I marathoned Family's Honor..and oh boy...I love him even more since then!!!!
God's drama must know this, so this year, i've enjoyed so much watching him since QoR, TPM and now new movie!!!

The Princess' Man is probably the best "dramatic" type of drama since King of Baker Kim Tak Goo that I've watched. It been a while since my last historical drama and I can honestly say that The Princess' Man is AMAZING. The acting is amazing and the storyline is absolutely intriguing. Episode 22 was soooooo sad. Only 2 episodes left... AHHH! I can't wait to see what happens but I'm feeling like both main characters might die (like HGD)...

Random, but one of my Korean teachers came to class exhausted last Friday because she watched TPM and bawled her eyes out for an hour or so and then couldn't sleep. She then proceeded to wax poetic about his lovely smile and lovely voice for a good ten minutes. XD Park Shi-hoo feverrrrrrrrr~

PSH has definitely made me into a fan through TPM. I'll be honest and say that he really didn't capture me in any of his other previous works - more or less cause I was too focus on other dramas etc. When I heard about TPM, I knew I was going to love it cause of the story... but bam! Both PSH and MCW really captured my heart from the start (even though I heard the line delivery and acting in the beginning wasn't so good). Then I thought, where was I when PP aired... and then I remembered, oh yeah... LMH & SYJ (and PT) -- need I say more. But there was something about PSH portrayal of KSY that just drew me to him - I think it was his playboy, carefree, innocent self in the beginning of TPM - oh and his smile. :) love it!
Glad that see that he's so nice to his fans... I really don't like the smug ones with an attitude. Wow - they are soo lucky. And this boy... he needs some sleep doesn't he? How does he do it? Anyways - he'll be on my radar for now on.

Ah, i love this man to bits! I was expecting this finale-viewing/fan-meeting. He's great at fan-service when it comes to face-to-face interaction, so i hope he keeps this tradition because it also says so much about him and his commitment and gratitude. Always been a sweet gentleman!
The TPM Family @ Soompi is going strong as well, i'm totally going to miss the hype! The thread will definitely be a main outlet source for withdrawals coming our way, so if anyone needs therapy, be sure to visit it OR the PSH thread. =P *advertising*
Much love to PSH and the TPM TEAM! I'm so proud of this production team for creating such top-notch visuals and coherent writing. Thanks to PSH for selecting TPM and Kim Seung Yoo as his project; he keeps on upping his work. Can't wait for that first movie!! But the man deserves at least two days of just sleeping and eating. Possible Endings:
1. They kill themselves, like Romeo and Juliet, by stabbing/drinking poison.
2. PSH dies after being fatally stabbed (NOOOOO!!!! PSH PLS DON'T DIE!!!!!). The girl stabs herself after seeing him die.
3. PSH is stabbed, the girl rushes to him, hugs him from behind, and pushes the sword further into her own belly (ouch!) like "Hero"'s Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung.
4. The girl's father attempts to stab PSH, but the girl rushes forward and gets stabbed....fatally. PSH is slashed to death as he weeps over her brokenly. The girl's father is devastated.
5. PSH and the girl, surrounded by a million soldiers, turn and jump off the cliffs in a tight embrace. They float slow-mo into oblivion....
6. The girl is fatally wounded after she blocks a sword lunge by her fiance. She dies in PSH's arms as the fiance freezes in shock. PSH stumbles away, carrying her dead body in his arms. The End. (Well, at least he's alive!)
7. Worst possible ending: They die, get married in the afterlife and have kids. Yes, yes, like the crap ending in Sangdoo Let's Go to School.

1. Su Yang accidentally drank the poison that was supposedly prepared for PSH and MCW to drink....
2. Su Yang was running with almighty anger going after PSH with a knife but then stumbled on a rock and instead killed himself.

Yes, PSH, MCW and the entire TPM team did an amazing job on this show. Great acting and directing, tight storyline, brilliant camera work, beautiful music. Plus it has a fantastic ending! I simply love it and recommend it. It ranks as one of my favourite k-dramas.

I have enjoyed reading all the comments about "The Princess' Man." I am so relieved to find out the ending is not sad. It does not spoil it for me, anyway! I have been totally hooked on it as well.
I tried watching "Protect The Boss" to help get over the craving for TPM's next episodes. It just is not a good substitute.
I watched episode 23 yesterday without subtitles and do not understand how a guy who just married (?) a woman could abruptly leave and continue to fight a war (so to speak). What is wrong with him? Does she play second fiddle to his revenge? I guess I'll have to wait for subtitles to make sense of it. This has bothered me. All the bloodshed seems futile! He needs to give it up!!
But other than that I have enjoyed the series so much. It has also inspired me to read more about Korean history, which is fascinating.

The Princess' Man is the 2nd drama I've watch of Park Shi hoo. The man's acting is simply flawless. I don't think Prosecutor Princess role did him justice. TPM has got to be the top 3 kdramas for me. And I've watched quite a bit.

It was a happy ending right? It's the only way I can bring myself to watch it...I've been keeping away as it's been promoted as the sageuk version of Romeo and Juliet and I've avoided it as I can't watch a whole series knowing the main character(s) may die. Which is why I kept away from SOAW.
