Lee Na-young’s 20th-century looks in Allure
by javabeans
Lee Na-young (Runaway Plan B) is featured in a shoot for Allure magazine’s November issue, which has released a few teaser stills from her “100 Years of Beauty” spread.
That means each image adopts a look representing a particular decade from 1910 through 2000. Like 1950s “French chic,” which is probably the second image, and a contemporary “eco” look (as in eco-friendly, which I guess might be the image above). So…which decade is the one where we all got abducted by aliens, dressed in loud patterns, and cloned?
The issue of Allure hits stands next month.
Meanwhile, Lee’s got one movie project on the docket, the cop-thriller movie Howling. The premise sounds iffy (detectives use a wolf-dog bred to track down murders), but it co-stars Song Kang-ho and is directed by Yoo Ha, who did A Dirty Carnival and Frozen Flower. The film is done shooting and was intending to release this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that doesn’t happen; Lee is reportedly looking for her next project.

Wow, so pretty... except in the last one. How she still manages to pull off that hair in the last pic is beyond me, but more power to her.

The sleeves are pretty cool, but imho the coat flattens her and the fabric makes me think of tarpaulin... But then again that's just me, and I never was the fashion forward one :)

I love beauty, though not one of my most beloved actresses, has a natural beauty so pure as in the photos are clearly that.

There's a certain charm this woman exudes which is quite unique. :) She's so gorgeous on those pics except on the last one. I didn't get which era is being portrayed in that. lol

Her neck in that first picture creeps me out. The shadows are weird. I only like the second one, really.

I'm thinking the last one might be 80's. At least, I think so. I've mostly managed to forget that the 80s existed, so I'm going entirely on guesswork, here.

That last photo reminds of the kind of stuff that the people on Project Runway tend to produce.
She is one of the most regal women I've ever seen. I don't find her beautiful, but she captures the camera (instead of it capturing her.)

Love the first pic. She reminds of Tilda Swinton there somehow? (The eyes, I think.)

Too true. It's nice she can morph so well. It's the sign of a good model! (Thank you Tyra Banks...)

The '70's. I know. I lived it.
Pucci fabric explosions, Saturday Night Fever, Logan's Run and alien probes (why was every abductee always inappropriately probed by ETs?)!
:)

Her eyes are so huge that they kind of freak me out. I remember the first few scenes in Ireland where she cries on the plane and the eyes looked super dollish and unnatural.

Probably one of my favorite actresses of all time. She has a very unique sort of whimsical air about her. Definitely not the conventional Korean pretty. Love her!

There was me thinking the last one was obviously Andy Warhol style... but comments seem to suggest otherwise >_<
I'm more confused about the 3rd one - what era is it and why has she got Spock eyebrows?!
I love the first - she seems beautiful even without much make up

She's like a chameleon every time she changes makeup. Pretty interesting face.
